In terms of the theater itself, it’s spacious and airy. You can see the stage well, at least in orchestra and at other seats as well perhaps either way. The seats are so much higher apart and it’s amazing!

Attended the evening performance of “My Fair Lady” on Aug. 18, 2018. Wonderful venue, smaller than any I had been too, but still amazing. Ticket window and Will Call are located on the main lobby floor downstairs, and on the left side of the building beyond the stairs. The ‘Lincoln Center Theater Review’ booklet of “My Fair Lady” should be a collectors item! Oddest thing about the Vivian Beaumont is that the only upstairs restrooms on the Loge Level are unisex, one person at a time, restrooms. There are two on either side of the Loge entrance doors. The line was incredibly long at intermission, so I’m glad I took care of my business before hand. I make it a habit of restricting fluid intake three hours before a show, otherwise I might have missed the beginning of Act 2. You’ve been warned. ;)

Great space in a beautiful setting. The semi circular stage projects into the audience giving all seats a great view. You really are part of the onstage action. Only complaint: the seats are too close together, aisles are narrow and there is very little legroom to sit comfortably. There is more room flying coach. Due to the pitch of the seating, your toes are on level with someones back, therefore you cant put your feet under their seat. This forces your feet back and knees forward into a cramped position. I moved to an empty seat after intermission, the good news - even the last seat all the way to the side aisle has good views, but still tight quarters and i am only average height. Great theater to see a show but choose your seat for legroom.

So the size and configuration of the theater is fine, BUT if one is over 55 tall, the seats arent spaced well to afford comfort to patrons. We sat in row K of the left orchestra, and our knees were crunched by inadequate spacing between the rows. And my lower back ached as well.

I recently had the chance to watch The Great Society starring the magnificent cast of the show, with Brian Cox performing as Lyndon B. Johnson, that left me with a sense of humanity and overall acceptance. The portrayal of the supporting cast to the identity of the real character during their lives in regards to the historical accuracy is riveting and revealing. Very much a show of truth and honest giving, with a destructive, direct detail to the emotion within the show and the message together do a masterful work that can be found throughout by any viewer who has an open mind for a straight play with a strong, gripping course of action.

We saw “The Great Society” yesterday at this theater. The play was great, however the seats were NOT! There was HARDLY ANY LEG ROOM!!! We were in Row E on the left side of the stage. It seemed the closer we got to the stage, the less room there was between the rows. I’m 5’7” and had trouble crossing my feet; there was a guy who was 6’4” next to me....he was miserable!!!

This was my first time at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre and we saw My Fair Lady! The performance was active, engaging, and superb! You should see it while it is still here. Now to the actual Theatre review. When you look at the Opera House from the outside this theatre is to the right and set back. It is easy to enter, the main lobby has a massive amount of natural light from the large windows surrounding it, and has good sound absorption as to make the lobby filled with people not so loud. The stage comes out into the crowd to make a half circle which allows the audience to be closer and makes for a more intimate setting. The seats are standard size, but there is not much room for your feet to move around. They have four bathrooms in total, but the women in my group stood in line for a good amount of time because they are small. This was an enjoyable experience and I would not hesitate to go back here for another performance.

We had the great opportunity to see the revival of this production of My Fair Lady in the front row of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Laura Benanti as Eliza and Alexander Gemangani as Alfred P. Doolittle were amazingly talented. From our vantage point they were flawless and vibrant. We were also fortunate that the role of Mrs. Higgins was played by the timelessly talented, beatific Rosemary Harris. The theater is intimate yet comfortable and the orchestra playing the classic songs was an extraordinary experience.
