A legendary concert house in the heart of Harlem, the Apollo Theater has featured some of the greatest artist in jazz, blues, funk, soul and hip hop. The accoustics are good, and the feeling intimate. A good place to experience music. There is also a gift shop, and outside you can get a glimpse of all the greats who have performed here. A historic place with a lot of good vibes.

The legendary Apollo is just that. I didnt see any performances but just being in the same building as all of the icons of music was an experience in itself. They have done a fabulous job of keeping the venue in shape. They offer tours but I just wanted to get some pictures and just check it out. The list of names of the stars that have been on this stage is a whos who of show biz. Next time I visit Im gonna catch a performance on amateur night

I went here to see a Dipset performance and it was awesome l. Just being in this beautiful theatre and the history it possesses. Crazy being a Harlem native and it me almost 30 years to actually attend something at the Apollo. Our seats were on the balcony and had great sighting to the stage. I can’t wait to find another reason to go back. Also they serve drinks that’s a plus as well.

This was my first show at the Apollo and a metal band was probably the least likely thing I thought would get me here. I was amazed at how small the venue is, I guess because its reputation looms so large. The staff was friendly and helpful and you cant beat the intimacy of the space.

I had so much fun at the amateur night at the Apollo! The crowd gets warmed up by the in house crowd warmers until the house is on fire :-). The performances themselves were absolutely great and a pleasure to watch. And lets not forget that hanging out in such an iconic place as the Apollo Theater is an experience in itself. You definitely wont regret spending your evening at the Apollo!!

This places has so much history, first of all! Second it was so much fun and laughed more than I could have expected. Tickets were at a great price (~30) and alcoholic drinks were under $10. Capone (the host) was hilarious and kept us laughing throughout the show! It was neat to see real talent from around the country preform for us. I would recommend coming to a show and amateur night if you want a good laugh and an enjoyable time with a great band!

Visiting the Apollo Theater was on my bucket list for some time, as I learned about the theater’s role in shaping African American culture and reading about how the theater helped propel the careers of many famous celebrities like Jimi Hendrix.Although our group didn’t get to watch any performances at the theatre during our visit, the staff at the Apollo Theatre were really friendly and let us hang around the theatre and ask questions about the theatre and its luxurious history.Watching a performance here is definitely on my to-do list next time i’m in New York!

My college went on a trip to NY, during which we went to the Apollo theater. It was an honor to meet Mr. Apollo himself! (If your names Barbara be prepared for him to talk about his sugawuga ). An experience that Ill definitely never forget. Groups went up and preformed, including some of my classmates and instructors. Two of which are pictured, are actually singers. So glad they had the courage to sing in front of the crowd. I heavily recommend visiting, and getting a copy of Billy Mitchells book. He signs it then and there.

First of all, I have been going to the Apollo Theater since I was a kid.I have seen a variety of singers & musicians over the years and have never been disappointed. This Holiday Gospel Celebration with Donald Lawrence & Yolanda Adams was no exception. The music was very inspirational, enjoyable and caused you to get involved in some way, whether singing along, patting your feet, clapping your hands, dancing in or out of your seat and even.....SHOUTING!The price is reasonable and any seat in the house is in full view iof the stage.I highly recommend the Apollo Theater as a place to feel comfortable and be highly entertained.

Oh my gosh! How amazing! It was great to be in this beautiful, historic theater and so much fun! The show was absolutely fantastic! Almost 3 hours of entertainment! What talent was on display! Although the audience participation was fun, I do think the group was harsh to two of the contestants, not even really giving them a fair shot to perform. Thats the nature, risk, and hazard of the performing at the Apollo, though, I guess. Performers beware! It is not always fair or for the faint, feeble, or weak, so work on your rhino skin! A no from the audience at the Apollo doesnt mean that youre no good or you didnt deserve better. A different night and it could turn out totally different! No complaints, though. The whole experience really was great. I would definitely go again, and most certainly recommend the experience to anyone. Another fun tidbit is this: if you get there early enough and you post something on social media using their hashtag, it will show up on the big screen, so get your camera ready! Have fun! #AmateurNightApollo
