A superb venue for listening to a wide variety of talented jazz musicians and singer-songwriters, with oeuvres that cater to all tastes and preferences. At the time of my visit in February 2020, I saw Brandon Victor Dixon singing a repertoire of Broadway classics - collectively representing the very best of the American Songbook.
Great venue in an awesome part of the city. The shops at Columbus Circle are also beautiful and well-kept. The staff are great. Our group has had an annual meeting in the beginning of December for the past 60 years. It was originally held at The Plaza but moved to the Jazz when The Plaza underwent renovations. The Jazz is so much better.
Great Evening. A must attend Jazz evening when in New York. The centre is situated at the shopping mall at Columbus Circle. Entry from the ground floor through the lift. The evening can be enjoyed with a collection of wines and spirits available are the centre and an good food menu. Has two shows one starting at 7 and the other at 9.
Three fantastic venues for enjoying Jazz, last night we had the pleasure of seeing Dianne Reeves in the Rose Theater, the largest of the three. First of all she and her band were amazing! Where has she been my whole life? Her vocal range and improv skills are out of this world. She was backed up by 4 of the highest caliber musicians. We sat in one of the side boxes near the stage which afforded us a fantastic view and intimacy. The acoustics are great even though we were off to the side we have been to all 3 venues many, many times. For the love of Jazz...GO!
Who is Joe Williams? Learned all about him in the concert. Born in Georgia, grew up in Chicago, sang Gospel at the church with the Jubilee Boys, sang with Count Basie Orchestra then left for a solo project but remained good friends, and passed away in 1999. Songs such as Alright, okay, you win and every day I have the blues. Nice performance, wished it was a bit longer.
I was stunned by this theater. I actually didnt even know it existed. Our experience at the Jazz Room Lincoln Center (in the Time Warner AOL building on Cols Circle) has been limited to the smaller, stadium style room with a wall of glass behind the stage that overlooks Central Park. This, the main auditorium, is not to be missed! With its collonnde on each level, it reminds me of an old European opera house. But thats where the similarity ends. It is otherwise most contemporary with comfortable seating, plenty of room, wood floors . . . its truly a beautiful combination of old and new. And the sound!! Crystal clear and true. You almost feel like youre hearing it in a studio. We saw Rosanne Cash there last night as part of the American Songbook series. It was a perfect room for her great show.
Great jazz in an intimate setting with panoramic view of entrance to Central Park. Two seatings. Full service dining and bar.
Its beyond awesome! The ambiance, the ushers, the seating arrangements, the lighting, the sound .... Everything was perfect! Had a once in a lifetime experience! Totally mesmerized!
Wonderful & beautiful venue for jazz. The view is spectacular, as well as the caliber of jazz artists. Grab a tix & go!
Very pleasant experience. Beautiful intimate feel.
Rose theater is a beautiful setup. Dont see how there could be a bad set in the house
If you love small venue live music, this is your spot. With a million $$ view from Lincoln Center and performances to match, you cant go wrong. Make sure to book a reservation ahead of time to secure the best seating and dont count on dining there, the food was hit or miss...but the drinks were strong and the convivial vibe more than makes up for any minor drawbacks. Youre welcome! If you found this review helpful, please like () it. Thx!
JAZZ at Lincoln Center is always a delight. Each year the program is wonderful. I especially enjoy the pre-concert talks. They broaden our knowledge about the show and performers.
Iconic views of Columbus circle. Nice music and event. Good venue space for large events.
Beautiful venue. World class performances.
The center of the jazz universe. World class artists in quintessential NYC venues.
Phenomenal experience at Dizzies Club during Jazz Congress 2019
Great Jazz spot. Amazing staff, fantastic views and brilliant Jazz Artist. Chef Cory serves scrumptious Sourhern flair dishes and fabulous desserts!
Why did it take so long to see a performance here? JLCO with Wynton Marsalis was incredible, even though a large theatre the 15 piece orchestra was harmonic, harmonious and has a great vibe. The space is beautiful, airy and well run with lots of friendly staff. Even the beverages were surprisingly lower than most venues today. Looking forward to trying Dizzys Club next.
I can only speak about the Backstage experience since I was fortunate to be invited twice while Wynton Marsalis was performing!
The atmosphere, the music, the space is wonderful. Saw Jazzmeia Horn perform in the Appel room. Wow Jazzmeia Horn.
Love jazz at Lincoln center!
LOVED it !!! I had never been there before and friend took me there as a late birthday present. One of the best birthday presents I have received to date.
Actually there to see bunraku puppets, part of the White Light Festival. The Rose Theater was the venue. A couple of not punishingly expensive beers were a feature of the wait time. All in all a great experience.
Its located in front of one corner of the central park. Great place for music, bad service (rude!) and few options of food and beverages. it s a pity :(
For all jazz lovers this is a great place to visit especially if you are just a tourist as me in NYC.
We enjoy the music that flows from it
We went to Dizzy’s and were underwhelmed. The table was so close to the stage, the corner was almost touching the saxophonist’s knee. You could smell the spit draining from their instruments. I don’t blame the musicians but the venue—which was very poorly laid out and not optimized for sound. Food was sub par but expensive. Service was minimal and wait staff unfriendly. Band wasn’t together or well-rehearsed. We wanted this to be a fancy evening out and were disappointed.
Beautiful theater with a mix of modern and old-time feel.
Very neat and a beautiful view
Excellent place and good acoustics.
Kind of pricey if you go anytime before the last show, but the venue is beautiful and the musicians are excellent.
One of the all time greatest jazz venues in the world. NYC at its finest
I visited the small Appell room for a brilliant concert of 1920s style jazz. The room is beautiful, with an all glass wall behind the stage, giving us a spellbinding view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. The sound was perfect. Highly recommend!
Very special performance place well suited for intimate plays.
Classy, well run, well respected upscale Jazz club where on any given night you can see whos who of the ever growing Jazz community. Fried chicken is top notch and dont leave without trying some of the signature cocktails. Enjoy
Jazz at Lincoln Center was very impressive. It was the very first time of visiting this place, and I didnt expect any specials. However I was surprised at the beautiful and wonderful views of New York City inside and outside of its concert hall. In particular, the stage of the Appel Room has the best. Its background of the stage is the window with the beautiful New York City. While listening music, I enjoyed watching the spectacular view through its window; especially the night view with all of its city lights.
The view is amazing and the setting is equally impressive. The drinks are decent yet pricey( as to be expected) but definitely worth going to. Didnt try any of the dishes that seemed out of the ordinary but by the looks of the plates, they seemed pretty good.
Historic! epic! Chick Corea and Chucho Valdés together!
Every time we visit New York, this is the place to go. We enjoy the environment with amazing food & great deals on the drinks! The pianos players are unbelievable and enjoy the set of music they play.
We had an awesome experience watching the Purchase College Jazz Orchestra.Dizzys Club Coca Cola offers great performers in an incredible setting. It offers spectacular views of Manhattans skyline.
Wynton Marsalis concert! Sure to be wonderful!
Dizzys is truly a world class jazz venue and the food is good too. Oh. Not bad views either.
Saw a couple of great shows here. The Apel room has really beautiful vistas of Columbus Circle. Still discovering the other venues within. Also, it is housed in a mall with high end shops.
Amazing acoustics. We caught the 1st concert of the season, Joe Lovano, and it was just delightful
Amazing venue beautiful jazz music!
Stunning venue!
Great space to listen to jazz. If only the waiters would pay attention to when to make noise. Bussing during the quiet piano pieces seems crazy considering all that is happening
It is not only a beautiful venue but also fabulous performances and delicious food. Highly recommend it...
Very cozy place. Much smaller than I thought. But then it makes sense, its for jazz.
Awesome venue to appreciate incredible musicians, great food and classic cocktails. Love it!
Had a great experience. It was my first time for a jazz show. Really enjoyed it.
Was here supporting an Alpha Phi Alpha fundraiser and enjoyed the ambiance, music, and dining experience. Great views too!
Great place, food, and people. The design, ambience, view and entertainment is incredible. The Dizzys team is always accommodating and never disappointing for me and my wife who were engaged here and try and return to celebrate our anniversary yearly. Definitely worth the time to write this review out! Go for the fried chicken and corn bread always...unless youre proposing that night because the nerves might not let you enjoy a thing (trust me). But any other time, go for it!
Beautiful venueMake sure to get the room with the views of Central ParkA delicious evening
Great experience and good place to visit...
Amazing jazz music. Highly recommend it
Great staff and theater is clean. Went to see a dress rehearsal for a Opera coming out.
Thanks for the great entertainment and quality of music. Please endorse this establishment as the cultural value is immense, as is the spectacle!Cheers!P
I enjoyed being here watching David Jeremiah with his Series: Everything You Need.
I recently went to a show for toddlers called OzoKids. It was so much fun! Kids were singing the songs, tons of balloons and the musicians went through the crowd playing instruments. Definitely put it on your calendar if you have a 2-10 year old.
Amazing venue. The views are unreal. The place is kept in wonderful condition.
Went to a private company event. Very comfortable seats with above average elbow room. They add a little extra space every two seats so someone always has at least one arm rest entirely to themselves.
Really nice with good ambience, you can go to the late night session for 5 USD.
Cool place, good sound. Went.for a kids concert.
A beautiful, nearly - acoustically - perfect, and easy to get to cultural venue, completing Lincoln Centers recent upgrade.
Kind of difficult to get to (you have to go through a metal detector....) but once youre in, its a nice venue overlooking central park behind the stage. The jazz performance was great and the drinks werent bad either.
Wonderful theater very comfortable and great sound for the Opera we enjoyed. Look forward to returning
We got a reservation, we ordered wine, appetizer, we were getting comfortable when the show ended 15min later and the waitress or nobody adviced us prior paying and ordering... it was a good place but service could improve way more.
Such a lovely place for music.
Extremely well appointed music venue.
Great place, great jazz. Also check them out on Livestream. A great way to view without having to get into town and pay any money.
The venue was just fantastic, and the performance was brilliant. Such amazing musicians and performance. Beautiful jazz evening.
Went to see my favorite pastor...the best experience ever!
Awesome show. Marcus Miller throwback to Miles Davis early 70s. See it if you can!
Wonderful venue with great staff, featuring phenomenal musicians.
Here jazz is taken out of “sticky” club and into the concert hall. Incredible space, sound and quality. Simply the best of both worlds.
Worth the climb and I actually love the design
My boss loves this place. Beautiful view and great jazz music.
Great service, music, drinks.and very nice view of Columbus Circle and the south side of Central Park.
Always a civilized experience at this venue. First rate! Tonights show with Steve Miller and Charlie Musselwhite was a well crafted, if not always perfectly executed, journey into Delta, Texas, Chicago blues styles. Glad to have been here to hear it. Backing musicians were noteworthy
Good seating for any shows. Food and drinks are worth the pricing.
The best place in the world to see jazz, different venues for different types of performances reaching from intimate to extravagant
Great view of the central park, Nice show, good music
The experience, people, the view is priceless!!
I see Lynda Carter here every April and October. Always a great show
An amazing late set at the Dizzy Club featuring bassist Marty Jaffe and ensemble. Great music and a great view of New York.
Surprisingly good food combined with great jazz and a beautiful view of the city at night. This was a super fun evening!
