Cool art show with a more than unique venue. Transportation to and from event was easy with the ferry. However, adult ticket price seemed pricey for event. Food was good, it was a little confusing about what restaurants were actually there once you were on property. If you aren’t a big art geek I’d save the money and skip it, however if you are into art this is a pretty good event for you.
The art always changed so it’s difficult to upload photos of the art. So I decided to upload photos of the island! It’s breathtaking.Be sure to take the ferry to Randall’s. It saves you time and the view is great but you will definitely get motion sick. The boat is not smooth, lots of bouncing around. The fumes from the ferry will get you ASAP.
Google needs to get it together with these reviews. Don’t bring up a 6-month old event that I attended and not accompany it with photos taken there. You’re being incredibly lazy. I’m providing you content, you’re six months late in asking me about it and then you expect me to track down my photos. Not doing it until you up your game.
—T—I thought I was indifferent to the big white cube while we were there. But now on the train I feel very disgusted and disturbed...physically disgusted. I know I should grow out of disgust...the girl in the car also contributed to this with that language and attitude. I definitely don’t belong to that world. And I’m glad we went there joon. I see it as a De-baptizing ceremony ;) I don’t know. Gonna take a bath. All the above being said, we need to creat our own Art company ;) ASAP—O—Just got back to Brooklyn joon. The traffic was ridiculous. I think disgust can be useful if it doesn’t consume you. I feel like if I were in a different mindset being there would be very depressing but I feel free right now in some way (generally) — I think I’m trying to adopt new attitudes for myself and my relation to art, or perhaps just recommitting to ones I felt before in a revitalized way. Anyway I’m excited to not be a part of that world— de-baptizing ceremony indeed (necessary step on the way to the creation of a new and better group). Let’s talk more tomorrow and maybe send some messages out to ppl about a brainstorming get together or something of the sort. ...alsoThat girl in the car was crazy. I can’t believe she used the word Dyke actually. Kind of astonished. Sorry we had to leave you with her to head to the train. Glad you expressed more distaste than I did in relation to her attitude. —May 4, 2019
Loving the art strategically placed all over the city. Especially the one titled “Behind the Walls” by Plensa ...beautiful piece
Such a great event every year. Youll see art from all of the big Manhattan galleries and more. Some really exciting pieces that you may never find again... Looking forward to next summer.
Great time here!
Very nice art! I love what they put on display!Very good food at the cafe!I love that its not only an art gallery, its a tent!
Great art fair. No need for words. Either you know it or if you dont its probably because you shouldnt.
Great atmosphere and interesting, fascinating artworks to discover. lots of entertainments going on. Recommend to come visit once!
It is best to buy tickets in advance, especially for the weekend. Temporary shut downs of sales can happen if the fair has reached it’s maximum capacity. If this happens, expect to wait one hour or more until they re-open the sales.Hours on Google are not always accurate. Check with staff for actual hours.
Great event. A bit crowded
While most of the exhibits long to be bold I found them to be derivative . . . JK its art people.
Amazing art show! The variety is fantastic and theres a ton to see. Plan on spending at least a few hours there to really go through the galleries.
The best contemporary art fair in the world. So glad this is in NYC. Go check it out!
The works are great. Its definitely nice to see all the galleries from Europe and other parts of the world. The tickets are overpriced for average visitor. Obviously, the art fair is more for commercial use but the pieces there are quite good. Also, there werent too many good or drink options. A handful of coffee shops with long lines, a few restaurants with food options, a a couple a place serving wine & alcoholic drinks. Its worth a visit but keep in mind that it isnt the easiest to get to and the price for entrance is quite steep.
Art, lots of it in a really hard to get to place, priced beyond your means.
Beautiful place
Frieze fair 2017
Parking is a disaster!Inside food or drinks is another disater! But contemporary art is...mmmmmm amazing!
Huge art show! Enjoyed it!The ticket is a little bit overprice.
With great art and good food Frieze New York is my favorite contemporary art fair. Like The Armory Show, Frieze features a roster of top notch galleries from around the world. I have attended the fair three years in a row. The admission fee is steep, but worth it if you enjoy seeing a diverse selection of artwork under one roof. Pommery is usually a sponsor, so a glass of bubbly is never more than a few feet away. The culinary options are provided by local restaurant outposts of some of NYCs tastiest spots. For transportation, there is ferry and shuttle service but if youre up for a brisk walk, take the train to 125th street and walk across the Triborough, its easy breezy.
Very sophisticated and nice fair!
Its an art show for the public and a few random collectors. There are higher level shows downtown, but this is fun for families, I guess.
Worked there Sunday past!
Frieze Art Fair is always amazing
Artsy
Yea
Fantastic artwork
Always an experience.
Fun
Too crowded. Too commercial. Too expensive.
Utilises and promotes stolen work. Poor form from all involved.
Both parking and traffic flow set up is totally a plan failure, i guess the organizers want you to attend the show by arriving with a parachute
Best art fair on the island
Great experience, fun for all age
