Parking is a bit tricky but once you walk in you forget all about the outside. We came here in a Friday afternoon to celebrate my daughters birthday. Everyone working was very nice. They were patient and allowed us to take all the time we wanted in each section. They took great measures ensuring the proper covid precautions were taken. Hand washing, sanitizing, mandatory masks and social distancing was strictly enforced. When we first walked in I couldnt tell how large the space was but as we went through I realized how spacious it was. We spent about 2 hours here. Each area was well thought out and the kids had a great time. So did the grown-ups. We were given plenty of slime to take home. Definitely worth the ticket for some safe and interactive fun for the family.
It was a total of 8 of us including the kids for my daughters birthday. Let me just say with everything going on in the world, this actually felt really good to see my kids as happy as they were. They had sooo much fun! We actually arrived 15 minutes late and were extremely worried we wouldnt be able to get in but after emailing they did assure we would be able to but just had to wait. They were strict about hand washing and maintaining masks on, as well as social distancing. The staff is very friendly! Cant wait to plan my next visit.
Highly recommend!! We went for my daughters 5th birthday and she had a blast along with my 6 year old son. I was worried about germs but was assured slime with turned over at least twice a day. When we walked in to friendly staff we were brought to wash our hands. Wipes and sanitizer were supplied at each station. Every staff member was super friendly and actually spoke to the kids. We left with the security guard asking my kids if they had a blast and the friendliest smile along with a special heart slime for the birthday girl. It was an expense that was totally worth it. Dragged them all around the city all day and they couldnt stop talking about the slime museum. Thanks for a wonderful family memory! Definitely recommend it. Such a fun experience for kids who love slime. You also are able to make your own slime. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly.. The best time ever .SlooMoo was fun for all ages.We loved making our own slimne. Who knew there were so many textures of slime? I loved the solommo️️
Haven’t been their since last year due to COVID-19 but it’s very fun and sanitary.
Fantastic!! Their Covid protocol exceeded my expectations. I had no worries having my 3, 7 & 10 yr old there & going back home to my infant. Everything was sanitized before & after each set of people & the workers were always on point! All the experiences they had to offer were so great. Right before you start the tour, they have name tags where they replace each vowel in your name with double Os (ie; Stephanie = Stoophoonoo) which I thought was hilarious!! My family & I each walked away with at least 2 free generous size slimes to take home. One was personalized from texture, to color, scent & charms. The others were pre-made but plenty of options to choose from. @ the end of the tour there is an area where you can purchase from the plethora of slime & slime kits they have. My kids couldnt stop talking about how much fun it was. #HappyKids #HappyMomTo sum it all up, I will definitely be returning!!
Visited SlooMoo today with My Grand daughter. We loved it. The place is beautiful and She had soo much fun making her slime! Shes already asking to go back on her birthday. The employees are helpful and make the atmosphere very bright! Special Shout out to Sasha for being soo informative and super nice to Us. We will be returning as soon as possible.
Great place for the kids, wouldnt recommend during Covid as many things are limited, although it seems they tried their best to make it safe and clean for everyone. Some of the staff are amazing and very helpful and some are very rude and short and dont seem to have any patience (even though this is an environment for kids) but I guess that this is what you may get anywhere in the city right now. 4 Stars because my daughter and niece loved it, $40 PP and it provides a good amount of Slime to take home with a cute tote bag. They provide sanitizers at the door (must bring your own mask) I dont personally think I would return until the city is somewhat closer to what it once was maybe that could allow less limits on the exhibits and more experiences for the price.
I loveeeeeeeee this place if I could give it 100 stars if I could. Sloomoo just an amazing experience with anyone you choose to bring here. It’s really worth it and so relaxing and fun so you plan to come here or not sure trust me you have to purchase your ticket is the best.
This was by far the best activity that I hosted for a Play Date! Will definitely revisit and this level of fun and service was post pandemic... Way to go Sloomoo
It was a great place to take my kids for a little trip. They love their slime.
Great experience for parents and kids alike. Kids get to make their own slime and play with it and do a few other activities. Nice gift shop as well. Kind of pricey but you can find stuff thats affordable. Pretty good for New York standards. Bonus its blocks away from Little Italy. Great food and shopping nearby.
Great place for the kids. Its small but it still took almost 2 hrs to complete the whole institute with the wait times and lines.
Very nice experience for kids it is lovely1 member of personal was kinda not in the mood but that has nothing to do with kids loving it
Very friendly kids loved it! Staff are extremely nice.
Sooooo much fun for kids and adults! Dont waste your money on the waterfall slime experience. Definitely not worth the extra$30 in my opinion. Theres plenty of slime for everyone to explore and touch. The slime making part of the experience is amazing. My kids loved it! Such a great pop up!!! Run before it closes! Worth every minute!
Went there today (Saturday) with a reservation for 3:45pm. This place was very crowded, long wait time and waited in long lines before moving on to the next activity. I was very concerned about the social distancing because it was not begin followed. It was over crowded and very humid. Lines were long inside. People sitting close to each other. People were waiting inside. Staff did not seem to have an organized system to limit the amount of time and people that should be inside the building. If you care about your health #STAYAWAY.
Great place for kids to explore the world of slime. Full of color and many types of cool slimes !
Amazing customer service! Had a small issue with sticky slime but the employees jumped right in to help! DIY bar was very fun and employee’: helping us amazing!
Similar to Candytopia and Museum of Ice Cream, this citadel to slime (every parents worst hygienic nightmare) satisfies every kids craving for all things slime. Tickets are needed, as entrance is based on reservation times.... The enhanced tickets simply include a slime bath/shower experience, which involves donning one of the plastic rain coats and then getting doused with slime.... Kids love it. Parents not necessarily so. But this immersive experience is pretty neat and your kids will walk away with his/her own custom made slime.
Why is the slime so expensive and also a Pom Pom headband is so much money!
My daughter had a great time...but what she wanted the most was to be slimed and it was not available.
Hello so i havent been there yet but my kids are really wanting to go there one of my kids cousin wanted this slime my dsughter told here well be going there soon and this is the picture slime she wanted anyone who went thete csn you make a watermelon scen cloud slime with a waternelon charm also can you scent the slimes my daughter loves slime
The employees make this place five stars
I want to make this review while it fresh in my mind lol. My experience there was literally “ok”. First, the manager (chessica not sure how to spell her name) is the greeter. Her aura and energy is not inviting at all. When I walked in to ask her a question, she looked at me like I had four heads. Before my family and I were allowed in the establishment, the security guard (who was very nice) told us my 2 year old didn’t have to wear a mask because of her age. Later Chessica tells us we have to wear it. Which is fine but her tone was nasty. They need to put Chessica in the back and make her do paperwork or something, she shouldn’t be in the front because she isn’t a people person. So I spent a good amount of time trying to put this mask on my child while she was falling out because she didn’t want to wear the mask. Beside the manager, our experience was ok. We had to social distance, which I liked but it’s a wait to get to each activity. They give you a lot of free slime so that’s a plus. The rest of the staff were very nice, I appreciate them working with my kids and being friendly. Great business idea. I believe with time it will improve.
Had a nice time. Kids loved it. Was impressed that they require everyone to use sanitary wet wipes before entering, but they didnt really watch to make sure it was being done well. One other negative is that they charge the same price for adults yet gave me a hard time when I asked to do the sling shot, telling me that my kid did it already. Otherwise, the kids had a blast, and will remember it for it a long time.Note: Although it doesnt state it on their website, youre officially allowed only 1.5 hours, but they dont chase you out. (Its very pricey for just an 1.5 hours.)Note 2: The jump in price for the lame 60 slime shower is absurd.
I brought my 10 year old niece. I had as much fun as she did! It was very organized and employees were very friendly.
A truly well executed experience! The space is comfortable, airy and well laid out. The overall design is super fun and chic. The various installations are clever and engaging. The staff is super energetic and engaged. Although geared towards children, I found myself drawn in and enjoying myself in a unique and unexpected way. Well curated gift shop as well!
Nice place for kids. Went during covid, so kind of not that fun since you cant touch anything.
If you like slime this is the place for it even if you dont like slime you must check it out
Not really any rating actually someone stole my card info to purchase. So sad for that person card cancelled haha.
A really fun place to take your kids to play with some. My little one could not get enough of the slime wall and all of the different types of slime that they had available to play with. We probably spent about an hour there. Its nice that they have time slots to help with flow control. My little one was very happy to make and take her own slime home!
Kids love slime! Thats the bottom line. Its a slow entrance as there is a line for everything. One coat check line for both entering and leaving. Then a line to get name tags, check in, and registration for photos. Then begins the slime fun. One DIY slime for each ticket holder - its the best part for everyone. There is a glow-in-the-dark slime room. Lots of slime pots to dip your hands into. You can walk in slime (5 minutes at a time). The Enhanced Experience was NOT worth, IMO. They cover you up and pour slime onto you. But if anyone is gonna pay $30 for slime to be poured on them, Im sure they love slime and want a tub on it dowsed on them. Nope - they pour a liter, at most. Not worth $30. But overall a very fun experience for kids. I would definitely do it again.
The kids had such a great time and really enjoyed themselves. I considered giving it only 4 stars just because its really expensive. On top of the base fee, there are a couple of other fees as well, which quickly adds up. My kids love to play with slime though and I was happy that they were able to touch and play with it in a controlled environment. I even enjoyed touching and feeling all the different textured slimes. Definitely a fun experience.
Temporary Pop Up - make sure to grab your tickets before it closes! The kids had a blast, I’m so happy we decided to take them! You get some slime and charms to take home with your experience. This is a well done interactive exhibit that is fun for the whole family.
We love this place amazing staff
Was great for kids. Generous slime portions. My son lost his and they allowed him to make another one which was very nice.Good activities . Creative! Def worth the visit.
Great way to spend a morning/afternoon! Very interactive. The slime falls experience was underwhelming but everything else was great. Loved that the kids got to touch, smell and play with slime (including one where they walk around in it). They also got to customize their own - that was really fun and a great way for kids to be creative and independent.
This place is over the top. Went with my 8 year old and she was in heaven. There are a few rules (no running, no throwing slime etc.....), but other than that, your kids can do everything and touch everything. There are time slots that they really keep so if you arrive a few minutes early, youll have to wait (or come back). They call you when its your time slot and they talk you through the rules and then they give the kids a fun slime name. As youre waiting tho, you can look and see how they make the slime - theres a small slime kitchen where someone cooks up a batch and its so fun to watch. The employees here are all young, fun and so kind to the kids.As you pass through the museum, each new section has different slime. There is detailed information about each batch of slime on the wall. they even have glow in the dark slime! You get to touch and play with ALL the slime. In addition, there are different activities. With each ticket, you get to make your own bucket of slime. The first stop, you choose which slime you want (clear, cloud, butter etc...), then you move on to the scent (there are soooooo many!). You then choose your color and last, the ad ons (which are so fun and each bucket of slime gets 3 ad ons). From there, you go to the mixing room where you mix up your slime that you made. The room has about 6 cubbies with a table and some spot lights. The lighting in there is great so its perfect for making video. The employees keep it very clean and are there if you need help wth anything. One of the last stations are squishy and slime that you can walk on - the kids have to wipe their feet and they get to experience that. This exhibit, tho a little pricey, is really a whole body slime experience. There is no time limit so you can spend as much time as you like here.Oh, there is also a slime dump station, where they dump a bucket of slime all over you. When you get tour ticket online, you have to book for this too (separately) - they only offer so many in an hour so they sell out pretty quick. It looks really fun but in the end, Im glad we didnt do that. Its a great experience for this kids - very sensory and lots of noise (if you or your child are sensitive to that). One more thing, they change out the slime every day and there are multiple hand sanitizer wipe stations all over the place.
If you or the kids love slime youll love this place! There is slime created in all sorts of colors and scents and at the end you can create your own special one to keep. youre a germaphobe you might not like it as much as there is anton of touching and squishing and one where you remove your socks and walk on slime. They do have lots of wipes, sanitizer and sprays which youll need because it gets rather sticky around. Kids will run all over and tire themselves out with all the different varieties. Its not huge but big enough for parties and groups.
If you like slime and dont mind it in your clothes then your kids will love it.
This place was AMAZING! It was so interactive and fun! Me and my two daughters went and we had a blast, my oldest is 16 and even she had an amazing experience! You should defiantly go here with your kids!
2/14/20 was my Daughters 11th birthday. what other way to celebrate a childs birthday with the magical help of Slime. Along with 6 of her closet friends and her two fabulous Godmothers. I must say WE HAD A BLAST. theres plenty of the Slime to go around and to just go crazy (in a good way). The place was very clean and the staff was extremely amazing at what they do!! Special thanks to ANGEL for going over and beyond for US!!! YOU MADE IT EXTRA SPECIAL FOR US!... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Sloomoo Institute was so much fun. Definitely geared towards kids but we loved it too. We went during an off time so we sorta had the place to ourselves. Making our own slime at the end was a great parting gift. Well worth the ticket price
Fun for all ages! I have been to Sloomoo Institute three times since they have opened in the fall and definitely plan on returning soon. Staff is super friendly. Everyone needs to check this amazing place out!
Great place for slime lovers. Most of the staff was great but some spent their time chatting with each other and ignoring the customers. As this is primarily for children, it was not surprising that the children were pushing and shoving and jumping ahead in line. The surprising part was that the staff and their parents ignored it. Kids had a great time so it was worth it.
I saw sloomoo on Facebook so I decided to go on their website and purchase several different items.Upon receiving my order I immediately opened each one to check them out. I noticed I was having a skin reaction so I reached out so I could start the return process. They responded by stating that because they were opened they would not take them back. I am out $85.00 and stuck with a product that is harmful to my health. That didnt seem to matter to sloomoo. If you want sloomoo, I recommend ordering from Amazon. They have a great selection and a hassle free return policy.
Loved the slime falls (30$ extra) and the DIY slime picking your color, scent and toppings.Every ticket invludes 1 DIY but it’s 16$ for additional. The place is fun, when i visited (went there for work, i am a Content Creator) it was full of kids. Perfect hub for them.Overall great experience even though we wished we could have borrowed those amaaaaaaaazing colored suitsShould be open temporarily until April 2020 unless further notice.
Really for the Kiddies. Took my two nieces(10 & 4) and they loved it. kids are fascinated by slime and there is enough exhibited to keep kids interested and entertained. As an adult I felt there wasn’t that much to do aside from just touching and smelling slime, but it wasn’t an issue for the kiddies. Not sure if the extra $25+ for the enhanced experience is worth it just to have slime poured in your head imo. Overall, if you have kiddies in your life it’s a fun hour of entertainment for them plus they get to make, kind of, their own slime which my nieces loved.
Its fun for kids to shove their hands into slime of varying consistency, color, and scent. And pretty fun for grownups as well. Given the steep entrance fee, Im glad we didnt opt for the $30 slime shower, and its nice that Sloomoo lets you take a small container of custom-made slime home with you for free. (Unlike the Museum of Ice Cream, which makes you pay an additional $6 for one scoop of ice cream afterward) On the whole, a strange, tactile, experiential, Instagram-friendly pop-up. Co-owner Darren even stopped by to make sure we were having a good time, so... points for customer service.
Absolutely loved it! Took my 7 year old. I had no idea what I was in for, but we fell in love with all of the different colors, textures and smells. It was so interactive and delightful and surprising! We didn’t want to leave!Thank you for creating a magical experience.
I truly love this place! I love slime is would really be the place if you love slime! The tickets are pricey that’s the thing that needs to change but I still love this place! It’s like slime heaven
It was rly fun
Fun for the little ones!
Its great place
My daughter absolutely loved the slime exhibits and the DIY bar. However, I cannot bring myself to give this place 5 stars when about 30% of the staff looked miserable to be there and were not kid friendly at all! I understand that the place is crowded and there are kids running wild everywhere but its part of your job to smile and make kids feel comfortable and happy. My daughter definitely felt the indifference and I will not be going back.
My 5 yr old enjoyed it in the same way he enjoys most things that somewhat appeal to his sense of wonder, but overall it was very mediocre. The overall experience could be summed up best as being nothing special.Definitely wouldnt recommend it as something thats fun to do, maybe more like something thats funny to do.
Friendly staff, if you are a slime lover youll love the place. A thriller for both kids and adults. No place to eat. A little too small for so much fun. Very costly. Would love if youd find a permanent place with better restrooms, a place to eat, And Bring The Cost Down.
If you like slime, youve come to the right place. All kinds of slime along with interactive exhibits make it fun. Some of them cost extra, however. And the slime they give you to create is not the best quality. Plus it was very warm inside
It is very different than other museums that talk about subjects. You get to interact and even play with cool different types, scented, and colors of slime! You get to make and keep awesome gifts for family and friends. I recommend it and the experience!️
A fun activity for kids!
I had a blast at Sloomoo with my friends and family. It’s a very unique experience for all ages. Very friendly staff. Defiantly recommend
Kiddos love this place and great fun for the kids in adult too. Can easily spend 2 hours plus in this place. Will go back.
The best very good and nice
Overall good experience. Replace some staff to earn the full 5 stars.THE GOOD: the place is clean and has a great variety of slimes with different colors, textures, smells. You can sink your hands into all the slime and its actually quite therapeutic. My boys enjoyed the slime slingshot and being able to make their own slime to take home. About half of the staff were excellent choices for this type of experience. The best staff were posted at the slingshot, in Sloomoos Cave, and at the walk-on-slime station.THE BAD: at least a handful of the staff acted like they didnt want to be there. Lackluster attitudes tend to detract from this type of super-fun, super-playful, carefree experience. The least-friendly staff were actually posted at the make-your-own stations. Other than the staff, my only other criticisms are that they couldve had a more dynamic intro at the beginning, and someone needs to do a better job at keeping inventory of the toppings.
#1 amazing staff!Very neat and clean!A lot of fun for Kids and adults friendly!Great place for sensory feelings!
Great fun for everyone, not just kids. Friendly staff and very clean/sanitary! Great for class trips, birthday parties or just a stop along the way during a trip to NYC!
Yes, Im giving 5 stars even though others on here havent given this place great reviews. My reason for the 5 stars is because of how wonderful they treated my students. Many times on field trips the people who work at the establishment dont have the patience for dealing with children, let alone children with special needs. My class of 12 were treated so kindly by every single staff member. They werent rushed, they were spoken to with respect and nobody ever became frustrated with them. The staff understood the needs of my students and accommodated them.My students absolutely loved the experience and want to return with their parents. The children got to play in bowls of slime ofmany different textures and scents which helps with their sensory. They were able to make their own slime at the do it yourself bar. There were several textures, an abundance of colors and fragrances to choose from. There were also over 200 charms of which each child could choose 3 to put in their slime. They got to play a few games as well as walk in slime. The establishment ensures that there are sanitary wipes throughout every station and everyone is asked that they wash their hands upon leaving.Id also like to thank the SlooMoo Institute for their generosity! My students are very appreciative.
It was very cute, I wish it was a but longer. The museum was kinda short, can be done in about in about 30. Fun overall, many different textures, and many smells.
Its a slime lovers paradise. All different types of slime with different scents and textures. You also get to make and take home your own slime with scent and your selection of additional beads or tiny toys to put inside. Super cool!!!
Great Amazing For Kids
It is quite odd that this place does not have a phone number for a customer to call and ask questions. Other than that, what a great experience. Playing with the different types of slime was so much fun for kids and adults. Making your own slime was great too. Personally, I do not think the enhanced experience is worth it. You wear a plastic type gown and paint buckets spill over you. Overall, a very entertaining experience.
Great place for adults and children! Highly recommend in NYC before they move! SlooMoo is a pop up shop that travels from state to state !
Excellent service!! We have a great time
Be very careful if you go there, dont wear clothes you care about. We recently visited, and unfortunately most of the clothes that my son, husband, and I were wearing are ruined or stained, including the new uggs of my son, his tshirt and shirt, my husbands work shirt and vest, and my cashmere sweater. There are so many people working at Sloomoo, and several times it was repeated to us that vinegar would take everything off. No one mentioned that we might want to be careful. Got home, and the vinegar doesnt work!P.S. when I explained the situation for the sloomoo team and asked that they partially compensate the damage, they refused and said that We do our best to remind customers about this in our FAQ and on our ticketing page. I also spoke in person with a robotic manager who was as cold as the impersonal email. I felt blown off by the sloomoo team. I do not recommend Sloomoo. Its poorly run, and in addition to the damage, we didnt even think it was fun.
We had a fantastic time. Its a great experience for all Slime lovers. I never knew there was soooooo many different types and scents of slime. I was amazed.
Slime galore! A good way to burn 2 hours with kids. You get to make your own slime in the middle of the exhibit. Keep your cameras ready its a Instagram gold mine!
I don’t usually enjoy playing with slime or even Play-Doh at home, but this was a wonderful experience as a parent and even better for the kids, who could have waded through the slime pit all afternoon. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and getting to take home your own slime is exciting... although now there’s slime in my house, so... oh well!
Love this place. Have been 3x.Wish it would stay forever
Hi. I’m visiting from the UK and read about Sloomoo in Timeout NYC. Told my kids, 8 yr old, 12 and 16 about your place and we bought tickets. All I can say is well done....the kids had such an amazing time in Sloomoo. We visited another three of these pop ups in NYC and this was by far the most immersive and impressive of them all.I have to share a secret too..my wife and I also had a fantastic time!WELL DONE SLOOMOO
Lol, I have not gone to the Sloomoo Institute, but I got some free samples of their slime and its impressive! It smells like fruit loops, its super stretchy, and has a nice consistency. I would consider going to the exhibit if I werent an adult with no children, lol.
Great place for Instagrammers to go and take pictures! Little kids also have fun here, experiencing different slime textures.
The “assistants” as they call themselves who are supposed to help you and lead you the right way, are actually rude. There was an open slime container so my daughter touched it and they yelled at her not to touch it when it was open and at the end of the table. Then we came to check in and were standing there talking to one of the staff and then a woman and a boy came up and kinda interrupted us but I ignored it. Then this guard or security or even a staff came up to us and said that we skipped the woman who was behind us and interrupted us. The slime I wouldn’t say is a good quality, ive been to better places before but I mean it, don’t go here. Your clothes get super dirty because the slime is all over the place.
I personally didnt go in, but my 7 year old said it was incredible! Walked in slime, touched different slimes, went in the glow in the dark slime cave, and made some slime to take home. You can even get slime poured on you!
My nieces birthday, so we took her there, with some friends. It was a fun experience the kids had a super great time.
This place is really unique and interesting. I found the slime very calming. There are many creative ways that theyve used the slime too (i.e. make your own, walk in it, sling shot it, see an art exhibit of it...). You can pay extra to get slimed. I tried it. It was cold and kinda gross, not worth the extra cost. Also not as photogenic as Id like. But overall, I loved this place and would revisit it.
My son & I had such a fun experience. We went two weeks ago, spent over an hour in the exhibit, both came home with slime which we are still playing with. The tickets are expensive just like every other pop up exhibit in NY. Our visit was great a few rules such as, dont take slime out the bowls/ don’t stand on displays seemed to bother other guest who had no control of their kids but it’s just common sense... definitely worth it!
Amazing!! You guys can have a lot of fun with your kids. Is a wonderful experience
Loved it! My niece didnt want to leave, lol. Loved the friendly staff and all the exhibits!!
I love slime nice costumers
I live in Kansas and bought tickets to take my daughter right before Christmas. Unfortunately my daughter was unable to go due to an illness and we were out $90. I emailed Sloomoo institute right when we found out we weren’t going to be able to make it (before the actual date) and still haven’t heard a response. I’d settle for tickets for a future date even. But unfortunately due to their lack of response or sympathy I’ve settled for this...
Awsome, best to try & make it there by 6pm so you can park on the street.
A great place for kids and adults. I definitely recommend giving yourself at least two hours when visiting.
I took my bonus daughter and her friend here and they had a great time. They enjoyed all the different types of slime and making there own.My only complaint was not the place per se but I seen kids picking there noses and putting there hands back in the slime. I also felt hair in the slimes from kids. Like alot of hair especially in that neon colored room. I dont know how they would clean slime but I wish parents would observe there kids more because nose picking and putting boggers into the slime is super nasty
The prices blew my mind but I truly enjoyed myself with my nieces and nephew.
The grandchildren loved it. Great staff
Amazing!!! My 6 and 3 yr old girls had a wonderful time!! It is expensive, but a very interactive fun experience
