My wife and I love coming here and exploring and playing around and being young again. Its a wonderful place to take your significant other when its nice out and the weather is on your side. We happen to come both times in July and it was extremely hot but that is to be expected in July! it was such a wonderful time regardless though and to spend it with my wife is always amazing.

Really neat ruins, and even more intriguing is the mystery surrounding where they came from. Id love to know more about them than just whats on the plaque out front.

The fort itself is pretty amazing well cap its really need to look down and see all the pathways I do believe there should be a better job at the upkeep inside the fort it wasvery overgrown and copious amounts of homeless residence. From the fort you have access to Canal Street and all the wonderful shops and food

Wish there was more info on the site and why it was built the way it was before being burned down. The foundation is fascinating, but people like me want to know details.

No bathroom so good luck holding your bladder. Love the park. You need about 5 cans of bug spray and 6,000 cans of mosquito repellent. I got bit up.

Amazing coquina rock fortress here in New Smyrna Beach FL. So much History in this Town. Visit the Fort Park and the Museum when in town next time. So many great locations near this for food and entertainment. East Florida’s little slice of heaven is charming and mostly commercially business free on the beach side thanks to an amazing group of local city officials that keep this land pure and classic for the masses . In a world that is over saturated with exposure, New Smyrna Beach is a Oasis surrounded by hollowed out Resort cities of days gone .

I like the park, it brings back memories of being a kid and going to the movie theater on Canal St. Its alot nicer than when I was younger. Theres 2 plaques with some of N.S.B. history on them, many benches to sit on. You can bring your dog but they must be on a leash and you have to clean up after them.

Definitely wouldnt treat this like a park. Also wouldnt let kids play on or inside whatsoever. Aside from the glass, trash, feces and potential life threatening injury at every corner (theres a lot of them), Id say this is a fascinating part of our history as a city and worth the trip!

Near site, but it doesn’t aptly explain what’s there in my opinion. Thus, it would help you thr visitor to stop at the town’s local history museum. It’s not huge, however it tells the story of how the British colony of “Smyrnea” got started and also discusses the home’s subsequent shelling by Union forces during the Civil War.
