First time playing here and had a great time. Course is in great shape and is def a challenge. Staff was very nice and helpful. This will become a regular course for me to play many times.

Course was a little wet today but, we have had a lot of rain (cart path and rough with the carts.) This is my first time playing Venetian Bay and I was impressed. Very fair and a lot of fun. Very scenic and even saw some fun wildlife.

Ive been playing here for the last couple of weeks and ive really enjoyed it. I think the layout is the BEST in the area for the price. Course is challenging, but also playable. Staff is excellent - Ben and Jimmy are super friendly and helpful!!

The fairways have good grass and the ball sits up nice. The greens are in very good condition and the rolls true. Good place to play.

One of the better course in Volusia County. Quite a forgiving course, good pace, and nice club house.

In my opinion, this is the best course in the area. No hidden anything! Rewards good play with enough width to make it enjoyable for all levels of play. The course has some issues a few years ago but it has recovered and is now in great condition. Somewhere to play fun golf.

They arent taking the pandemic seriously you should know that going in. If your of the same mindset then this is your place.

Weeds, Weeds, Weeds. 45.00, junk. If you want to throw away your $, this is for you. Superintendent should be axed. Great layout, love the course and design, again, junk. I can keep my lousy front yard in better condition. 25.00 max, all its worth.

Much improved since last year. Played 18 today and the only green in bad shape was the first. The gentleman in the pro shop was friendly and the starter was super nice. I would recommend to anyone looking for a challenging course with large fairways. Make sure your bunker game is good! I will definitely be back! Thanks.

This Clubs food is the best. On night I had pork loin and it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Told the server to tell the chef. The next minute the chef was at our table introducing him self, he told us how he prepared the meal. We have had the special turkey dinner it was mouth watering. Try this place at Venetian Bay. It’s a solid overall golf course. Slightly on the pricier end, for what you get, but I do mind paying a little bit more for a pleasant experience, overall. Restaurant is well worth visiting, as well!

Staff and starter was very friendly and informative. Fairways were huge and greens were nice. Seems like they have done a lot of maintenance to the greens since the previous reviews as I only noticed a couple greens were kinda on the rough side. Lots of bunkers placed on all of the holes so bring your A game! I’ll be return soon.

The course is fun, with a good mix of T positions for different skill levels. Club house is elegant, with good food and selections of beers. However, a big warning - DO NOT BOOK A T Time Online!!!! They charge a steep convenience fee not mentioned in the Terms and Conditions they present when you book. Furthermore, it is almost impossible to cancel a T time once made online, even days in advance, and then in spite of no mention of this in their T&Cs, they will try to keep the convenience fee! I spent 40 minutes on the phone arguing with their booking agent, Golf Now, to get my fee reversed. This is actually an illegal practice.

Love this challenge.Many times over the course of different owners improvements have been made only to enhance the golfing experience.Now, it is at its finest.It can now take on a tropical storm and be ready for play within a day or 2.Fantastic attention to greens, fairways and bunkers (sand and turf).Daytona Beach Shores is our second home and this a a course to call home!

All summer resd bad reviews about this course. I decided to play it and was glad i did. This course has come along way since those reviews. It was in good shape. 1 or 2 tee boxes need TLC but overall definitely worth the price and has come along way. I will be back keep up the good work.

I’ve played many times during the past 10 years. This edit was from play in June, 2020The entire golf course was in the best condition I’ve seen in years. The staff is very friendly, and price was good. We will be back soon.

Visiting from Michigan - Course is stunning & very well maintained. The staff are very polite and professional - Ben the manager was very nice and friendly! Would recommend this golf course to anyone! Definitely will be back!

Since new management has taken over this year things are improving slowly! More events and golf lessons better condition of the course etc.. FINALY getting people that know what they are doing instead of the wrong people giving bad advice to the powers that be!

Overall a great experience. Staff very friendly. Course is not perfect but is getting better all the time. And compared to others in Daytona Area it is not the best of them, but it is also very far from the worst around. And it was a lot of fun!

Friendly staff. Well stocked pro shop. Course in excellent shape except for greens. Greens had been punched and a lot of them had bare areas.

Just finished a round here and felt I had to write a review here. This is an absolutely beautiful course, and typically I love playing here. The fairways are very awesome and well maintained, the tee boxes are level and nice . The greens however, are the worst I have ever seen. They are akin to putting on sandy concrete. No consistency, no fringe, but more importantly no grass. The most disconcerting part though was the fact that no one said a word about it prior to hitting the links and there was no warning or announcement online. When I mentioned something to the gentleman at the clubhouse he said, Yeah they look horrible but they still putt ok. Theyre comically terrible. He said theyre going to fix them eventually, but be warned before you pay full price for these goat ranch greens that wont be for another month or two. Word of advice, give people a discount until theyre fixed yall. Cheers

A real hidden gem in Venetian Bay with amazing food. Special dinner menu on Saturday night is highly recommend. Order the Fancy Mahi and you wont regret it.

TrashNo other way to rate this course.Conditions and staff (pro shop anyway)are terrible.I have no other reviews so I can attest this is a sincere opinion.To be honest I can hit balls anywhere.It was the treatment from the staff(pro shop) that has left a bad taste in my mouth.

The greens were very bad. The pro shop employees did not act like they wanted to help you for the price paid. Coming from out of state, excited to play, but disappointed how unfriendly they were to us for our first Florida golf experience.

Food has been consistently good and convenient.

Absolute worst golf course you could play on in Florida. I’ve played on most courses in central Florida. Management there is horrendous. Course conditions somehow managed to be even worse. Absolute worst conditions I’ve ever seen. I’ve had better experiences with a rectal exam.

An absolutely beautiful golf course. Well maintained and challenging. The clubhouse offers a variety of services and the pro shop is well stocked with quality items.

I just finished playing 18 holes with friends. ALL 18 GREENS WERE DESTROYED. No grass just dirt. All 18 greens apparently had some fungus. The pro shop knew this but took our $53 green fee and said nothing!!! I play with a large group and we went there often. But we will NEVER return. I understand that greens can get a disease. But it is unacceptable when the pro shop fails to advise you of the problem BEFORE they take your money and send you out to play. Very unprofessional.

We had a very good Valentines Day dinner special. Portions were ample and prepared well. Champagne included, shared appetizers, a choice of 4 entrees for each. Followed by a large shared dessert. The price was right!! Kudos to the staff..

Theyve lost the greens. The locals no longer play here. What a shame. Hope the course is playable in two or three months. Tried to play 4/26, they should have paid us.

Course in good shape not great but very playable tee to green. Greens putt much better than they look. Plenty of water but most only come in play with a very bad shot. Fairly wide open and forgiving. Pace of play was very good. Enjoyed the day. Good value.

Greens ugliest I have ever seen, UNPLAYABLE .Shame on Venetian for charging full price and not warning customers....DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE.And to make matters worse guy in Pro Shop had the personality of a brick...thought maybe it was just me but overheard others saying he was down right rude.

Played a week ago and was very disappointed! Next time Ill read the reviews. I thought I was going to play a top notch course, but the greens were lousy. Not much grass on them, pretty bare. Course layout not bad thats why Im giving only 2 stars. I played New Smyrna Beach and Hidden Lakes last week too and both courses were in great shape! Greens were beautiful and both courses in general were in great shape. Im from OH and wanted the feel of playing in Florida with numerous palm trees and southern pine trees. You get that from New Smyrna and Hidden Lakes but not from Venetian Bay unfortunately.

I visit NSB once or twice a year from the UK and have played this course every year since it opened. This May I read the recent reviews and decided against playing the course. There again Deltona DeBarry and Mims to name a few are only 40mins away when Im not playing The Preserve in NSBIt seems that Mr. Misery is still in the Pro Shop

Had a wonderful Chicken Avocado Sandwich and Molly was a fantastic server! Good times, good friends and good food! It doesnt get any better!

We played a 5 hour round of golf at your course today. We waited on every tee box and in every fairway on the front nine. When we were going to 10 there was already a three group back up on the 10th tee with a group in the fairway and one on the green. Five groups on one hole. I reported the back up to the pro shop and the person behind the counter looked like a deer in headlights. Nothing was done to speed up the slow groups and a beautiful day was wasted.

Im sending this same experience via email to the course and Im not leaving my opinion here but Im leaving some facts you should know before booking/playing.I went online to check tee times at Venetian Bay and saw there was a 9:40 a.m. time for $36 per player including lunch. I called and through the phone system I was prompted to “press 1 to book a tee time.”I booked my time and I was off to golf. When I got there I was charged $42 for the round, no lunch. I was told I was being charged an added $5 because I called and used the booking line. Had I called the pro shop and booked I would not have incurred that charge.Another person in front of one of the people in my group was charged $30 for his round.Each of the four players in my party were charged the $5, even though only one person, me, called to book. So the course got an extra $20 we didn’t know we were going to spend.

I played this course in 2016 and it was in great shape. I played it yesterday and it was in terrible shape. For $50 (18 with cart) I expected a whole lot more. The tee boxes were decent (you tee it up anyway so who cares) and the fairways were great! But the greens were awful. Dead spots every where. Sand in some large patches brown spots in others. The greens are what make or break a golf course and these broke Venetian Bay.

Pretty decent place most of the time. Well kept depending on the time of year. Great food inside and a practice area that is on par with the the course conditions.

If I could rate this club a 0 star I would. I wasn’t able to finish my round due to unforeseen circumstances and only finished 9 holes. When I asked for a rain check for only 9 holes because I had planned to come back this weekend, Bryan in the pro shop told me “of course I can’t give you a rain check. It’s not raining”. I won’t be coming back and I advise you not to go here if you don’t want to deal with personnel like this.Edit: I went back. They are in the process of an overhaul, and most greens have cracks through them or are not properly maintained. Fairways punched, tee boxes are missing grass, and did I mention the greens? Awful condition and one of the most expensive courses in the area. For the condition it should never be more than $20, not even on the weekend during peak times but is often listed at nearly $60 during these times.

Todays lunch was delicious: Crab cake Sandwich was yummy and I chose sweet potato fries as an add on. The server was friendly and attentive.

The clubhouse at the Venetian Bay Golf Club is really nice especially if you like a lot of dark wood. The floor and the bar are a dark wood and the table and chairs are the same to match. When we first walked in we could actually smell wood.The menu is simple and made up of mainly sandwiches, salads, and the like; however, the food is surprisingly delicious. The wait staff was also very attentive.My fiance and I plan to have our wedding here next year, so Ill make sure to come back and review it as a wedding venue as well. :)

I played the course on May 10th 2018 and couldnt be more disappointed. I read the reviews, so, I called the course ahead of time and I was advised that on a scale of 1 - 10 the course was an 11. The greens were absolutely horrific. I have never played on greens so bad. The track was nice and the fairways were average at best. I was excited and thought I was taking company that flew in to a pristine golf course, but it was more like an over priced BAD public course.

What a nice layout and club house . The fairways were ok some traps were ok some had gravel the greens need a lot of help . The staff was nice except for the over weight guy in the pro shop who lacks people skills. Not worth 25 dollars

Booked a tee time on Sunday for Monday. Was told the price was $42. Was charged $53. Greens were destroyed, nearly unputtable. Would not pay $20 to play this course. Stay away!

Played 18 holes today. The course was open and forgiving, and I really liked the layout of the various holes. Would definitely play again!

Green fees were higher than we were told when we booked, layout is nice but the greens were in bad shape, and then they send 2 singles out behind our 4 some that we had to let play thru.

BE CAREFUL!! If you leave something in the cart after a round, it will be stolen and no accountability on the part of the Pro Shop Staff or Management. Pathetic service. Also, sent a 2-some in the middle of a large tournament group on the back 9 during a golf outing. The course itself is probably a 3/5 and their restaurant staff is friendly, but their Operational Team and Management is something that should concern you if you decide to play there. BE AWARE and DONT FORGET ANYTHING OR IT WILL BE STOLEN WITH NO ONE EVEN LOOKING INTO IT!!!!

Very rewarding, with an excellent staff, and awesome facilities. Played with my son and will definitely be back again to play soon. Even with playing during course maintenance you could still enjoy the beauty of this track.

Most of the negative reviews below are about problems with coupons, deals etc. this is an excellent course, picturesque landscaping, $30 with cart, nice clubhouse and friendly staff. Nice enough we decided to look at the model homes. They were overseeing when we played and we still loved it.

Great course, too bad the greens were horrendous.

Played here again and was very disappointed...way overpriced for course conditions. The entire course had been overseeded and was allowed to grow long...uncut on the tee boxes and throughout all fairways. The tees were set so far back that in many cases you were forced to tee off from behind the tee boxes on uneven ground. The greens were a little rough...not nearly as good as others in the fairway. For those not from Florida, the $42.00 fee might be reasonable but there are courses in much better playing condition for $27 - $35. It was sort of like they are trying to get the course in shape for the winter season and take advantage of the off season players. I have rated this course favorably in the past but was very disappointed this time...would not return.

Sad. I have played at this course for years and our round of golf experience this time was the worst! First I looked online for a tee time....and they wanted to charge a service fee....never had that before! So I (thought) I called the pro shop to book a tee time....price was different (more). But I did anyway.....then I was told I needed to give my cc to hold the time....never had to do that! When we go to the course no one was there....went inside to pay....was told a slightly different price (just by a few $$), when I questioned it I was told it could have been different if I booked online and I stated that I called in, he informed me that I spoked to someone in the call center? How and why so many different ways to book a tee time and different rates? Again, never had that before?Proceeded to head out to play....course looked burned out and traps not kept end up as they were in the past. Our group was playing and then we noticed a cart approach in us in the middle of the fairway...it was a grounds keeper in a regular golf cart with a weed trimmer...he did not stop or apologize for interrupting our game and just drove thru like we were not even there? Then a few holes later...again a worker on a tractor started to fertilize the tee and fairway? Saying nothing and not letting us hit and move on? Again never experienced that in my life at any course! Normally they shut down their engines, let you hit and they continue and so do you.It sad to see this golf club look worse and worseI miss the original owner and staff!

After booking through GolfNow and paying the $10 to hold the time we had a change of plans and ended up heading further south and decided to play another course. So I called Venetian and cancelled the time no more than 10 minutes after I had just booked it. No big deal i knew I was out the $10 and was perfectly fine with that. But come to find out they went ahead and charged my credit card for the full amount for 4 players. I was shocked when going through my statements to see this charge for $216! And shame on me for not checking my statement sooner but having talked to the course and canceling I did not have any concern that I would still be charged. I am not the type of person that trolls on the internet and writes bad reviews for businesses, as a matter of fact this is my first review. This kind of business practice is unacceptable and others need to know.

Course was in deplorable condition....a cow pasture would play better! Every green.. fairway ..and tee box were horrid!

This is the second year in a row that weve had our company Christmas party here. Staff was friendly and the inside was decorated very nice.

Played today 8/30/18. The worst condition I have played at this course in the past 5 yrs. Granted they have had alot of rain but the course should really be closed. You cannot drive on the fairways (there closed) and the rough is so soggy and wet that the whole course is rutted up. The greens were in decent shape overall but I would not recommend playing there until it can dry out. Their rates seem to jump around depending on whether you book it through them or an outside booking service. In my opinion currently over priced for the value. The food and service in the restaurant was good.Old Review Fairways are kind of thin but certainly playable. Greens have come back and are in good shape. Course is pretty wide open. Restaurant and clubhouse offer good service and food.One drawback is no one from pro shop answers phone so if you need to get hold of pro shop for some reason good luck. You have to book online. Its typical of the way Integrity mgmt runs their golf courses. Left phone in cart one day (I know stupid) and could not get anyone on phone to look in the carts. Had to drive back and found it. Integrity mgmt. cuts back on every corner. After playing recently on an Integrity course in Orlando we went in for a beer. They were out of Bud Lite beer (a money maker) and said they had to wait on mgmt. before ordering. Friend asked for a scotch and then didnt have any. Dont understand cutting back in the bar where you can make money.There process to pay is broken. Be there early it may take you 20 minutes to pay. There were 10 people in front of us today because the computer system is so slow and we were late getting to first tee. Requires you to sign two cc slips but it processes extremely slow.

0 stars just bc of how arrogant the guy was in the proshop that works the cash register. Played here many times ok course nothing to complain or brag about there. A friend and I tried to squeeze in a quick round on a questionable weather day. Unfortunately on the 2nd hole tee box it started pouring went inside for raincheck and was told they would only issue a rain check for 9 holes since we started the round. The few times I went in for rain checks over the years at different courses I havent ever been told this and probably would have accepted it without feeling the need for a review if he didnt come across so pompous. Maybe he used to work for the proshop at August National idk. Im never surprised when I hear this same complaint from others when we are talking about local courses. Im sure I will play again here at some point but definitely not in any rush to use this rain check for 9 holes after paying for 18.

Course is in poor shape. Proshop staff is not friendly. Managed by Integrity Golf, who only cares about money and not the experience. Not junior golfer friendly.
