A warm and lovely gathering place in the Seventh Ward. Awesome talent is the order of the day. A full vegan menu option was a very pleasant surprise. (The unsalted vegan gumbo is tasty if you add a bit of salt.)Tanya Boyd Cannon & Co. is a must-catch act with impressive talent and an exhaustive repertoire. Best new local find!
This place is great for vegans and great music!!My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday and we tried most of the vegan menu, and I can absolutely say I was impressed by the options. The crab cakes were phenomenal as well as the sliders, and the gumbo is fantastic! We came on Saturday the 23rd and the new band was playing, they were awesome! I hope more people come to watch/listen to them.
Sent two messages asking for info using their website message system. No reply either time.If one expects someone to recommend going to one’s establishment it’s a good idea to pay that someone the common courtesy of replying if they take the time to ask simple questions.Wouldn’t go or recommend to go. Tons of other places in Mew Orleans that respect prospective customers enough to give them the common decency of replying.
We were in town for the 2019 Essence Music Festival and my wife, being a N.O. girl and me from the mighty Chi - Town, wanted to hear some live music in a more intimate setting. The Music, musicians performing, and featured guest (Tone Tony Toni) was excellent! Very very nice performance even without Raphael Saddiqui! Bar and drink service was absolutely horrendous including long wait times for very marginal drinks served. Great atmosphere with an involved, appreciative, responsive 40 plus crowd! Keep them coming back by hiring a knowledgeable responsive bartender that knows how to prepare drinks! Although we didnt order food, from what we saw served looked very appetizing! We will be returning as we support African American owned establishments nationwide as African American professionals, it is our responsibility to uplift and assist growth in our own communities!
Secretly, the BEST JAZZ CLUB IN NEW ORLEANS.GREAT SOUND SYSTEM & FOOD RATED 5+
We went on a Tuesday and it was poetry night or as they say poetry slam. The meals are small but good the poets are good
I love the idea of good food and a live show ......I had a great time
Attended a reserved Silverback Lead Mentors meeting. Jambalaya was appealing to the eyes and to the palate. The fish was fried to perfection. Chicken wings were wonderful. The salad was almost too pretty to eat, and the ingredients were all fresh. The environment was excellent, and the owner catered to our every need. Reserve your meeting today!
Had such a great time on Tuesdays ooen mic .night. Ate a bug bow delicious gumbo too. Warm atmosphere. Good vibes.
Great atmosphere and even had free food tonight :)! The poetry readings were exceptional!
We visited this spot several years ago and the memory is still fresh in my mind. We enjoyed the entertainment and the singer was superb. Hope to visit again during Jazz Festival weekend.
The best jazz bar restaurant in New Orleans. Hands down the best place to have a Great Time!
This lounge can be likened to CHEERS... there are no strangers... Great Food, great drinks amongst family
Love it my son performed there every other Tuesday night its a great place to chill and relax
Low key atmosphere, music and food fantastic!!
Music and service was great. Try the gumbo.
Wahoo! I had a blast dancing in my chair and listening to great music with a wonderful Friend.
Friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed some nice casual conversation at the bar. Felt right at home!
These guys have a separate, purely vegan menu that is delicious, local New Orleans flavor, and based on a three generation tradition of vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.
The food was awful . The fish was so spoiled, bad, tainted. I had to send it back. The chicken was bad too. Foutunatly the band was amazing. I believe the waitress was high. But we came to support a fellow musician .
Great music, food, and cozy environment. Parking can be a challenge at times.
Update 2018. This place has been closed for 5 years as of 7/9/18. The lights are on but nobody is homeWhen it WAS open itwas 5 star as far as Im concerned. Slowly there was a decline in the breadth and quality of the entertainers, quality of the food and the fun factor of the regulars. The food is now so-so and overpriced. The entertainment used to be great but is now limited to a small fraction of the varied, accomplished and highly entertaining artists that used to play here. They had a really good bartender but shes gone (she made great rum punches!). All the fun regulars have vanished. Then to add another nail to the coffin, the joint is only open sporadically. It used to be a great place to see wonderful entertainment, mingle with interesting regulars, have good drinks, good food and enjoy personable servers. But ----- not now.
Super cool neighborhood bar with great staff. Great place for drinks and music!
A hidden gem tucked away. Good drinks, great artists.
5 bags of popcorn. Those kitchen uh, those toilets, uh those kitchen repairs are going great! Hope the renocsfuims go well.
Went for open mic Tuesdays. Great crowd. Positive vibes. Great drinks.
This used to be one of my favorite spots. However, a group of friends went there on 3/31/17 for a comedy show. We didnt expect the comics to be great, but wanted a nice evening out. Well the service was deplorable- only one poor server who had to handle the bar and tables for both drinks and food! The food wasnt ready until after 9:30, and it was horrible. The fish and frys tasted like theyed been fried in old grease. The owner, Paul, acted as if he didnt want to be there. A truly bad experience. So bad, I dont know if Ill ever go back. What a shame.
Great atmosphere and entertainment..service was a little disappointing.
Music was outstanding. Need help with the bartender shift.
Great night of partying my wife and I danced all night
Ive never been here but someone with too much time on their hands has reviewed it using my name and for added in some religious intolerance to boot. Please ignore that review and check this place out for yourself.

Loved the show last!! You must visit.
The absolute best time!
Very enjoyable evening. first night in town and Sweet Lorraine s is a block from the ABNB. Its a local neighborhood club with musicians from the area and the cats can play.

Great place to relax and listen to some good music
This is the heart and soul of what makes our city and culture what others are desperately seeking to be one with! It is the epitome of Uniquely New Orleans.
