The trails improved dramatically in the last couple of years with new asphalt. Nice playground. Nice hill on the south end of the park for sledding.

FAVORITE! The disc golf course is one of the best in the metro, plus the pond and walking trails are great for a city park. The whole space is well taken care of.

Im told the cone style baskets here are historic. The wild-eyed ones even use the word legendary. The course is good enough to make up for them. Its a fun and challenging 14 hole with short and long tee pads on (almost) every hole. There are walking paths, softball fields, and a playground on site as well.

A fun course, mostly easy and well laid out, but with some tight fairways and elevation changes. Not a big fan of the cone baskets, but worth playing again.

Fairly open course, old style UFO baskets can be tricky. Would play again.

Fun place to play disc golf. The layout is good, but the baskets are not as good as the ones with the chains on them. I only come here if other near by places are too crowded.

I can only speak of the disc golf course when talking about Hansen park. It has older style cone baskets which are an absolute joy, challenge and punishment when playing the game. The park is always clean and welll maintained. The disc course is an excellent use of the space available.

My favorite park!! new hockey rink, frisbee golf, stream and a lake with great walkout paths!! My go to peaceful place

Be
Review №19

Went here while it was covered with snow just today. Most of the paved pathways are cleared, but huge chunks of compact snow, ice and mud patches exist too. My son took out his x20 pocket drone and let our 3 year old family friend fly it. The maiden voyage was magnificent! However it made a bee line from picknik structure, passed to the right of the Playground, in the general direction of the parking lot. The range is 50 meters, and we searched for a long time....of course the drone is white. If anybody finds it, we would LOVE to hear from you. Reward offered.

My favorite park on the planet, Hansen Park has a bit of everything tucked into a quiet little suburb of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. A phenominal throwback 12 hole disc golf course featuring classic saucer style baskets is the main attraction! The playground area was updated around 2012 and is great for the little ones! Gaga ball pit was added nearby a few years later. A nice large gazebo next to the playground is great for a picnic or barbeque, or the building is available for rental. Tennis courts, baseball fields, hockey rinks, and a volleyball court are all here as well. Walking paths from all sides of the park converge near the creek and wind along through tall trees all the way around a large pond, making for a beautiful place to walk with family.

The disc golf course has a couple technical holes and mostly short open holes. The course can be figured out, but it would be nice if they were marked more clearly. The course has different baskets than the typical chains. I hated them when I first played there, but after getting used to them, it really just gives the course needed difficulty. Unfortunately the first hole, last hole, and hole 5 become a swamp in the spring and whenever it rains. Id recommend waterproof boots.Beyond the course, my favorite parts of the park are its two sheets of ice for skating (in the colder months), and the very peaceful walking path that follows a stream.

Back in the late 80s my team, the Vikings, was supposed to play our leagues Championship game here but we showed up and they had put the hockey rink boards up already. I guess they didnt realize there was 1 more football game to be played there. We ultimately played the game at MVHS & lost. Not sure if the venue change contributed to the loss but....Spent many hours on those hockey rinks with my buddies enjoying the great game of hockey free of parental/coaches control, free to just have fun.

The disc golf course at Hansen is well-architected for the space available. It has a good mix of open and technical shots. The most notable feature of this course is the cone baskets, which Im not personally a fan of. However, its worth experiencing them at least once.
