Went during black Friday sale where the whole store was 25% off. The guy with rainbow hair rang it up and charged me full price. I told him he didnt give the discount and he apologized and tried to fix it by putting it back on the card. It was taking a really long time. I asked if it would be faster to get cash instead of getting it on card. Another guy behind him said no we just have to figure it out. In the end the cashier gave me cash instead of putting it on the card. But as he was trying to put the money back on my card he charged me the discounted amount again. So I got the cash for the discount but he charged the same amount to my card separately. So in the end I paid full price. This store doesnt know what it wants to be. I guess it started as a video game re sale shop. But now its trying make half the store D&D and plushie to fill out the other half of the store. Sounds good but in reality it just has a very limited selection on everything it offers.

Amazing store super nostalgic, and great staff. I had the same feelings walking into d pad that I had as a kid walking into my favorite local video store on the hunt for my favorite games! Awesome atmosphere and really cool arcade. I also found this super awesome Nintendo carrying case for such an awesome deal!!

Love this place I travel 1 hour away just to come here every now and then. I always leave with something to play. Great prices from classic to modern games. Even if they dont have the game u are looking for they will make sure they put it aside when they come in. Great atmosphere and good Texas people there.

The staff here are great! They hooked me up with the perfect PS1 for my collection. Really brought me back to the days my brother would pretend to plug a controller in when my mom would demand he let me play too. Ah sweet memories, I eventually caught on... can’t wait to go back and see what other gems they have!

Everyone of the workers are very knowledgeable and one -Paul- went a step ahead to let me know the full process of when they get new games in and how long it takes to get put up on the shelf, they have just about everything your looking for in any game system. This spot is more than just a spot for games....oh no....it is a spot to enjoy and nerd out with all sorts of wonderful people and treasures!!! This is a very very good game store. Very well stocked in All game consoles and games. Expertise of employees is above and beyond any other Ive run across. We both traded in and cashed out on some of our consoles and games. Very satisfied with both transactions.Note, its because of their expertise that they can evaluate your consoles and games both technically and market wise and give you an appropriate $appraisal and valuation.No other store, especially the Game Stops that can do this. Game Stop and others simply take the safest route for Themselves ... not for you. This means the least $ valuations for you.Everyone should visit and get to know this store. Its essential, especially to any serious longer term gamer.

Ive been coming to this place since I was 10 years old, originally a Modern day Internet cafe equipped with Xboxes, PlayStations and PCs. Its since been converted to be more catered to Video Game Retail and Table Top Games such as Magic The Gathering and Dungeons And Dragons. They have some Quarter Arcade Games in the back room as well as Tables for Magic and D&D. Tony and Paul are both extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. If youre looking for anything video game related Modern or Retro, this is the place to go. If they dont have it theyll atleast point you in the right direction.

I had rated D Pad 5 stars but I rerated them due to the not so amazing service Ive gotten the last 2 times Ive been there. And they dont give fair prices when you take games and/or movies in. I took about 14 games in and got $10.50 in store credit. What??? But I have to say they are the best place to find video games for all kinds of systems as well as controllers, cords, etc. Most of the employees are pretty knowledgeable too. Ill definitely keep going but I sure hope the service gets better!

D Pad is great! We collect vintage games and systems and they are always do kind and friendly. We could easily (and have) drop 400 dollars. But it will all be top quality!

These guys know their stuff. You know they are hard core gamers because the place does not even open up until Noon because they game all night!

If you dont want to download emulators and illegal roms this is the place for you! They got real copies of all the classics. Make sure you have new game money though, because the good games cost about the same as a new PS4 or Xbox One game.

This place has a few classic arcade consoles you can play, but I oils never call it an arcade. What I would call it? A really cool place to visit if you like old console games. They have new ones, too. But classic consoles, like SEGA CD? YUP.

I am a regular here and I always look forward to my weekly visits. The staff is tight and focused. Its very easy to strike up conversation with them over any game title. They are very accommodating for collectors and people like me looking for hidden gems. Unlike Game Over in SA, they allow you to purchase freshly traded in games on sight. This makes it very fun for me because I like to cherry pick through new game stacks. They also have a great selection of arcade cabinets and a free room to use for tabletop games. This store overall is just great for nerd culture in this town. Cant recommend it more.

I have been coming here my whole life! They have to be hands down my go-to place for anything retro gaming. I have a Nintendo 64, game cube, and Wii and they are the only place if ever buy games from for them! Also the guys who work there have always been very polite and knowledgeable about anything Ive asked about.

Its a cool place to look at. They have a large assortment of old games and game systems, although the prices are high. Its near a little Cesars which makes it good to check out while waiting. They also have a room of old arcade games if you wanna relive the old days, youll just have to ask them to turn the machines on and bring some quarters. Once a week they hold a magic the gathering tournament and from time to time they hold super smash Bros tournaments.

Very good classic video game store located in New Braunfels. I made the 30minute trip, from San Antonio, to purchase a game that i couldnt find anywhere else. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, helping me locate exactly what I was looking for. Add to that a pretty vast inventory, and youve got a winning combination. 100% recommend to anyone with even a slight love for gaming.

A great place for gamers in general, and an absolute must visit for retro gamers especially. They carry games and accessories for everything from the Atari 2600 to the current console generation. Everything is used, but it is all tested and they have a very generous 30 day guarantee on everything they sell. I have had to return a few things in the 8 years or so that I have done business with them, and they have always stood behind their guarantee. The store has undergone major renovations in the last couple of years, which is nice, but their stock and atmosphere have never really recovered. Still a great place, though. I love to go in there and browse, and almost always come out with some new treasure.

The best for old school games and systems

D-Pad has a lot of old and new games ready for sale. Everything looks in good shape and is well organized. Staff seems well informed on gaming also. I havent personally experienced any table top gaming there but the back has a good setup for Magic/Pokémon/Whetever tournament you might want to play.

Love this place, wish they had donkey Kong country for the old Nintendo but I will keep coming maybe one day, love everything else we get a lot from here.

Best vintage gaming store Ive ever been too. I love coming here. The workers are kind, and very helpful. And you can tell they truly care for gaming. They replace every battery Im every cartridge or gameboy game that requires save. They sell their games for a fair price, and never rip you off. And they have most all the games youll be looking for, and more. Its a great store, and I hope it never goes out of business. Because Ill buy old school games from here over other places any day

Always have a great selection. Some games at a good value. Some games the same value at standard retail stores. Wish the room where the arcade games are, had all the arcade games working. Would probably come back more often if all the arcade games worked.

So awesome! My husband and I acquired an OG Xbox but needed another controller. We were happy with the guys over the phone service and late hours. It was convenient and the prices were excellent. He told us since we were coming from SA he would have waited a little later if we didn’t make it in time. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic prices. There are some great deals to be had here if you look around a little. Being a smaller footprint store, their selection is less than competitors. However, they have a second room now dedicated to arcade cabinets. Their friendly service evokes a welcoming atmosphere. I always stop by when I visit or go through New Braunfels.

Very knowledgeable staff and awesome selection. They helped me determine that my N64 was done for, but were quick to find a solution. I didnt want to lose my blue N64, so I purchased a gray one and they placed my blue shell over it.

It has tons of stuff for the retro gamer. From hard to find games, controllers and more, however I went there for magic the gathering and I found it hard to find any cards because everything was organized by rare or not rare. Otherwise it was a great place to get all your retro gaming needs and they earned my business for that.
