This place is great! Old-school country fun. Great music, great vibe, nice folks. Indoor and outdoor stages. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Old time dive bar. You can hear some great music here. Shame the acoustics and mix is not good. Easy enough to walk around until you find a decent spot, but the singers vocals were too quiet the entire night. Good deals on beer. Their kitchen is permanently closed, so ignore all the pics and reviews of food. Just booze, music, and old-school outhouses.

Always a great hang! Joel, Angie and crew have kept this place as a great testament to great tunes, great times and great drinks. They now have a food menu and the nachos are a thing of beauty.

Great place for what it is, a town local with extras . Music was terrific and happy hour prices were awesome.

Do not miss this tavern while in the area, live music, a lot of history and soul. Very unique!

I visited Rileys on a late weekend night with my aunt and it wasnt crowded, had live music and Sweet N Spicy nachos. Id say this place is rundown but cozy with a laid back vibe any drunk could appreciate lol the bartender seemed unwelcoming and fed up but I definitely dont blame her...

Stopped in here for Mondays open mic, and had a blast. Great bartenders. Everyone was super nice too :)

This is a historical place. Its the first bar in Texas. They have live music just about everyday. The have an outhouse like restroom, and have seating outside too. Its a cool place to be if your in your 30s and up. Ive been coming here for years. Its nice to come here and just be, and not have to be mainstream anything. Come for the music, or come for the drinks just cmon and have a good time.

Old Tavern atmosphere, live music, good drinks friendly people. First tavern to get a license after the probationary period, and historical and still running. Great folks,great staff,fun. I came across Rileys Tavern when just out riding my motorcycle about 6 yrs ago. Hope to make it out here again when I visit my brother as well. I dont think any new comer will be disappointed coming here.

Love the longest operating bar in Texas, always a great time, doesnt matter if its a lazy Saturday afternoon, or there for some great music. Its hard to beat a cold drink at the bar or under the oak trees. If you havent been please check it out.

Super tasty. Service is typically good. Prices are reasonable. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.

Place is legit. Cheap drinks, nice scenery, good music,friendly staff. Havent had the food yet but it looked delicious. Definitely will be back.

My first Texas music experience. I am not at all a country music girl but the band the evening we went may have turned me onto country. The staff was friendly and prices were great! Nice patio area too.

Cool little historic place. Theres a historical marker out front that tells the story of JC Riley who got the very first liquor license number 00001 in 1933. Awesome patio.

Cool place went here and saw it by the bridge. Had to stop by when I found this was the first beer license in TX.

It has great prices, very good employees who actually care about what you want. Overall great place to just relax and unwind.

JC Riley was my grandpa. I spent a lot of time here as a kid. The place has changed a lot, but its still a fun trip down memory lane to visit these days. Fun fact- JC was the first person in the state of Texas to get a liquor license afyet prohibition ended.

Ive been going to Rileys since the 1990s. Its gone through different proprietors but its always had that hole in the wall, biker bar, 1st bar after prohibition feel. Id recommend everyone that is cool to frequent this joint.

Went to see Augie Myers and Roy Head perform. Great ambiance and a really nice place to meet with friends and play pool, or listen to awesome bands.

Came down from San Marcos and had the nicest time with some of the nicest people.

Really old bar. Live music. Popcorn machine! Get your own basket of popcorn to go with your beer. Still a smoking allowed bar. Out side area as well. Pretty cool. This place is history.

Love this oldest honky tonk, its out of the way and they offer car nights coming in May.They also have a private house and bugalow in the back for overnight guests who may have had one too many. Now thats hospitality.
