Our visit was fun and cold. Best to dress warm and/or bring some blankets. Well worth the cost. One note- its not in New Braunfels. Its on 35 south of the San Marcos outlets.
Was pretty cool. With all the work and electricity they put into it, I think $35 a car is fair. Its like going to the movies or even a museum. The lights and storyline were pretty cool and even my teenagers were excited about many of the exhibits.
As if dealing with traffic from the outlet mall and incomplete construction wasnt enough, I had waste even more precious time in a line that I didnt even knew existed. At first the left lane was close but as I further went into the line, the left lane became clear but yet everyone probably assume that it was still closed but unfortunately it was not and it was a complete BAMBOOZLE moment. They really need to have a sign or signs to indicate things and control traffic cause this was just UNACCEPTABLE. WELCOME TO TEXAS WHERE WE HAVE UNFINISHED CONSTRUCTION 24/7/365.
Wonderful light display! My son loved it and we sprung for the season pass. Looking forward to visits all season!
Went Black Friday shopping today at Tanger Outlet Mall in San Marcos. We got stuck at the frontage road and there were no exit nearby to get to the highway. No one knew that there were 2 lanes, no signs at all... we got stuck in the frontage road not knowing the reason why. This place is holding up the traffic causing us to get stuck there for almost 2 hours. Like 2 hours!? Please do something about this. Let drivers know that there are 2 lanes! Let drivers know that the lane that we got stuck at is supposed to be the line for this business and not the lane to get to the highway. This business is causing traffic jam!!
Our family had a great time! There are TONS of lights and fun displays to look at. The hot chocolate was tasty and added to the experience, so make sure you get some at the concession stand.
Was well worth the 1hr wait, very beautiful. The ride seemed never ending.. Definitely a new Christmas tradition.
It was full of breathless sights. And sceneries..remembering way back to when we used to put up all the lights we could find..and then some. Its. A long. Ride. Even up a hill but do stay 25 ft behind . You cant get off the vehicle. .Also please wear your mask. When you get to the concession stand...theres a line there too.price entrance. $35.00 car load. Concession stand price..3.25 up to 42.oo custum hoodies shirts 24.oo 28.00 and so on. Enjoy HAPPY HOLIDAYS..
Santas Farm was spectacular. Beautifully displayed. A must see on your Christmas list.
Lots of lights which is great but there wasnt really much of a theme just a bunch of random lights thrown together. But my daughter loves every minutes of it so thats all that matters. Thank you so much for the experience.
Nice lights but not for $35. Not really worth all that. Plus the ticket line and the concession stand are to close backs up the line and makes it extremely long to get in.
Lights are beautiful, very well decorated! However they need someone out here regulating traffic! It’s a disaster. Jerks flying on the shoulder cutting people off because they’re too impatient to wait their turn. It’s infuriating.
You just drive thru and no getting out except for snacks or bathroom break. Great items to look at.
Tickets were easy to.buy online and we showed are ticket thru the phone so that was awsome ...kettle korn and hot cholate was delicous...they were just messing funnel cakes and it would have been perfect hehe...but the lights were beautiful ..the family and I enjoyed the drive thru the park seeing all the lights it was done amazingly job put together and good length too drive thru..thanks for a great night and beautiful lights ....
Lights are nice! I have noticed nothing changes since I typically take my daughter every year. One thing that has changed is every year the price keeps going up. I am unsure if I will take my daughter this year. $35 just seems a bit excessive for what you are actually seeing. Your wait time outside is longer than your drive thru.
This is the greatest and longest running Christmas Light display in the area. You cannot go wrong bringing your friends and family here.
This place is magical. Well worth the season pass.
Great story telling thru bright & colorful array and displays of Xmas lights!!
Didnt know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely funner with family and friends. Biggest Christmas lights display Ive ever seen. Took about 1hr from start to finish. Great holiday experience. We heard young ones going crazy over it all, so a definite destination if you have kids. Even my dogs attention was held captive.
Nice place for all the family the cover is $35 per vehicle or $70 seasonal pass.
Great fun for both adults and kids! I saw things I wasnt expecting and became a 12-year-old once again!
Fantastic place to go look at Christmas lights with friends and family! I came here as a kid & now Im taking my kids to see the lights! The whole thing is about a 30-45 min drive Id say maybe a little more depending on how many cars are in line. They offer hot chocolate, snacks and other souvenirs at the beginning and end of the lights. If you enjoy christmas lights I highly recommend coming here especially if you have children. It will be a yearly tradition for my family.
Next time, have a dedicated road for this place instead of causing a huge traffic sign in the access road...Such a major inconvenience and a lot of time wasted
Totally recommend it! Its so pretty .
Took longer than I thought which was great!! Didnt mind it one bit, lots to see. Worth every penny!!The price may seem like alot but just take into consideration how long it took to put all that together for you to enjoy. Dont rush through it, take your time and it could take you 45min - hour to drive through give or take.Lots to see...
So yes the lights are nice and it was definitely different! But paying 30$ for a 20 minute drive through and the hour and half trip there ended up not being worth it in my opinion. If you live closer and have kiddos this will be a better option for you! I will say I loved seeing the tale of time shown through Christmas lights so that was a 5/5!
YOU NEED TO GO HERE ITS AMAZING
This place was surprisingly fun and much more than I expected. We were fortunate enough to go early in the year so we had no line but the place is legit and I was amazed at how much they actually had set up. Some of the displays were really creative. It’s worth the trip. It is pricey so load up the car but even at 30 dollars (not to mention the souvenirs and hot chocolate) I left happy that the kids had such a great time and even I was impressed.
Super nice!!! We loved that they emphasize the true meaning of Christmas.. the birth of Jesus Christ. It is not about the presents its about his presence!! Not only one day of the year but every single day of our lives! God bless you all. Thank you to all the employees and founders of Santas Ranch. Extremely nice and friendly staff!!! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
It was pretty cool, lots and lots of lights the kids really enjoyed it. First time going probably would go back again next year.
Love this place. Weve been attending for the past 11 years as one of our Christmas Holiday Family Traditions. Go early, gets very crowded, long car lines. Thousands of different character lights. We take thermos with hot coffee, hot cocoa, snacks and play Christmas music while enjoying driving views.
There is so much to see and the set up is breathtaking! I really loved how they told the story of the meaning of Christmas through the light display! Its a wonderful and fun way to teach the children about our lord and savior. I just wish we could take our time more in viewing everything. Other than that my family and I were blown away by the creativity of the nativity of christ!
Was not as good as the hype, it was quick in and out shorter through the park than the wait to get in
This place is a great place to take family and visitors alike. It was my first time going. Its 30.00 to get in per car load. I recommend going late around 930/10 that way you dont have a ton of cars hurrying you up. You are not allowed to leave the car. The pace is a nice crawl in your car. I also recommend bringing snacks or drinks. Restrooms are at the end of the park. Make sure you go to the bathroom way before. The line to get in can be up to an hour then the park itself takes a good 40 minutes. Have fun!
So much fun. Very well put together. Make sure to put this place on your to do list this Christmas. Get there as soon as they open... otherwise you’ll be waiting in line for a loooooong time. Such cute displays. Very heart warming and fun to do with the kids. Bring cash for the payment. Charge is per person...
Very entertaining for the kids with so many lights. They have a little shop for hot chocolate and snacks. It takes about 30 minutes to go through depending on how slow you go. Last week of December is packed and a very very long line.
A very unique experience! Lights here are very different than traditional light shows. They do not disappoint. Wait times in cars are long, plan ahead.
Lots of pretty lights. We got there at 5:30 pm and got in really quick.
Great story! Lots of lights!
There was our 1st time there and it was definitely worth the wait and the price. We will be back!
Havent been here in 3 years, waited for 40 minutes to get in. Paid $32 to get in. They made so many changes. Took a good 30 minutes to go through. If we lived closer it would be worth the pass. Thank you for a good light show.
Fun experience, really long light display drive. I wish they had an area inside the ranch that was designated for parking, so we can take pictures with the lights. Overall the themes were beautifully displayed. Cost is about 40.00, slightly high. My kids had lots of fun, 1st time going to this ranch.
Just make sure to bring a jacket and maybe a blanket. Roll your windows down and enjoy the holiday lights and music.
We waited outside about an hour to get in because people kept cutting in line. But once in, you go through this long winding road of lights and figured. A must do at least once in your life.
Fun time out with my family
This is a great light show!! The price per car going in felt a little steep ($28+tax), but we had a $2 coupon one of us found online, so it came out to $27.76. At the ticket window they said they had more than a million lights, and after driving through I believe it. It was beautiful! It takes about 30 mins or so to drive through. The only problem we had was the wait to get inside the place; cars were backed up on the frontage road and it took us about 10-15 minutes sitting on the road before we got in. The subject matter of the lights had a lot of variety, ranging from your traditional modern Christmas Santa / Rudolph stuff, to the creation of the universe (including a lot of dinosaur lights), to the story of the Christmas from the Bible, to some deeply Texas flavored stuff, and even had some Star Wars lights!! We had a great time! Highly recommended!!!
I took my parents here for Christmas light show, they have always wanted to go and this was the first time we fought the traffic to get there. It took us about 2 hours of waiting in line but it was well worth the wait, made their holiday a little more brighter. This is something everyone in Central Texas should visit at least once in the holidays.
Real cool and everyone was friendly!
Santas Ranch is absolutely amazing!!! A must see during the Holidays!!!
This place was awesome! It was $28 to get in but I went with friends so it was cheap split 4 ways. Really recommend visiting!
Very nice
Excellent as always. Its well worth the hour + drive. It feels like it just keeps on going. Takes about an hour to go thru once you are in.
It is definitely for all ages, and the kid at heart. We all loved it!
This place is way better than the other Christmas light places we have in Texas. Theres so many lights and the whole family enjoys it. I did not give 5 stars because I went a few years ago prior to this year and it was the same light decor.
Get the season pass as you visit twice and get your moneys worth. Their hot chocolate can be ordered at kid temperature so its not as hot. When you visit try to get there after 630 as the waiting line will clear by then. If its from the 21at to the 25th no time is good so be prepared to sit for 30-45 minutes. Well worth it!
Truly a special treat for young and old!
The lines can be long if you go after Thanksgiving. This is always and exceptional time for our family. The price this year (2019) is 30 bucks. Without exception, this is a huge hit with everyone, young and old. It is well worth the price and the wait. I suggest getting there 30 minutes early, the wait can be up to an hour or more at some times during holiday season, do not let this keep you from going. Always a great time for communication and happy times.
This place was okay we didnt realize we were waiting in traffic just for the light show until after an hour. It took us about two hours to finally get to the gate once we got there a lot of the displays were missing lights for me to spend $30 and spend 2 hours in traffic they better have their lights on point next year
Our family enjoys the tribute to God and Country, along with the Santa lights and lights throughout. They take credit card and have a drive through snack place with Hot Chocolate and our favorite Kettle Corn.
Beautiful place, and even though we arrived a few minutes after 11pm, the people took their time to come to every car and let us know that we could still go inside (we waited over 2 hours in line). very much worth the trip, money and those 2 hrs. children and adults will be awed
Was actually very impressed with Santas Ranch! I loved the biblical part going through the Bible story to the resurrection of ChristHad a great time with my wife next year will definitely bring the kids
Loved this place! Good hot chocolate and so much variety of lights! Enchanting.
$30 per carload is pretty steep for drive thru string lights. That said, it’s worth a one time visit to check it off your bucket list. It is creative.
I like the they decorate all these pretty Christmas lights.
My Granddaughter loved it, especially Noah the lights have been upgraded. The lines are a long but its worth the wait. Its Christmas enjoy the evening sing Christmas carols while you wait, get in the spirit.
It was a good place we are coming back for next year
So well done! All the work and creativity involved was fantastic. And we loved that they used the Biblical perspective.
Delightful display of Christmas lights with lots and lots of things represented. The kids just loved it. I loved the fact that we could stop and get hot chocolates for everyone at the beginning because the kids kept rolling the windows down to get a better look. It would be nice to be able to walk around but there were a lot of cars so I felt safer knowing that was not allowed.
Was a nice place to visit once, but pricey for what it is. All the staff were very friendly.
Great little place with so many gems
Great visit to this unique find off the interstate. The facility is clean wait times are short and hot chocolate taste great.
Caused massive traffic jams
Beautiful place!
Beautiful lights and good experience. But you will wait at least an hr to get in, less if your lucky.
On this site it shows you all are open. We drove last night 1 hour to get there to find out you are actually closed not open. We were taking our 6 month old granddaughter with my parents. What a disappointment! Please correct the website when retrieving Santas Ranch.
Its a great experience, took our youth group from church.. the lights are beautiful.
Great family entertainment
Unique Christmas trail of lights.. surprised that it has a lot of cute themes. We enjoyed it.
Great adventure when in San Marcos, TX
Its a great place to go 4 the whole family, it doesnt matter what age,Ive been at least 8 times within the last 10 years but Im sorry 2 say I wont return again. The last time I went was 2 years ago and the prices have gotten REDICULAS, and the car in front of us would stop at EVERY DISPLAY and wouldnt move 4 AT LEAST 10 min, I walked up 2 the front 2 ask them 2 please talk 2 the people and was told no they wouldnt do anything about it and 2 get back in my truck and not 2 get out again, VERY RUDE person.
The grandkids had a blast!
If was more than I expected to be honest, nice time spent with the family. Everybody enjoyed the twinkle from the lights .
Awesome! We bought the season pass and the grandkids wanted to back almost nightly but we did make it back once a week.
Well worth the Drive and Wait! Our Kids Love it!
After our stay last year, we had just about decided not to return, but its location drew us back. We have stayed twice this month on nonconsecutive nights. The recent remodel is very nice! We love the nice thick towels. We had no complaints about the staff before, but the people we dealt with this year were all particularly nice. Id like to mention the front desk clerk from yesterday (11-28), but didnt think to get get his name. Lee, the lady managing the breakfast room this morning is truly exceptional! We were very happy with both stays.
Awesome lil drive thru!
Great place to take the family to look at the christmas lights. The staff was wonderful keep up the good work.
Lots of lights and beautiful displays but get there early lines can get long. They have a drive up store where you can purchase hot chocolate and other small items.
Oh I had with santaA holiday afarOh I had with SantaHis sleigh and raindeer thereOh I had with SantaDo you think that was weird?
Beautiful lights!
Love to visit this place during the Christmas season! Its a holiday tradition for our family.
The lights are amazing but its $30 plus tax to drive around it so I feel like the price is a bit high. I still recommend going at least once
Lights were awesome! Only down side was that I wish there a facility for the public to go to the restroom.
