LOVED it! It was my sons birthday, he was treated like the most special kid. No lines, no crowds, no screaming kids. (thanks to Covid) The play place is closed which was fine because less germs and more learning for us. The guy at the main door refunded a ticket for me of a no show AND I had originally purchased the wrong day and it took him less than 2 min. to fix the problem. I highly recommend the show on Gravity with the robot. I as an adult even enjoyed it. It was a great visual on space time.
Husband was working on location nearby so we took a family trip from Texas to visit. While visiting we took our kids here and they absolutely loved it! So much to do and see, they had such a blast and didn’t want to leave.
Our family always loves the science center. Although i think some exhibits should change more often. Or rotate. To keep things fresh. Except the space area. Just add a new and current findings area. I understand cost may limit these processes. But the science center is always neat. Either way. Definitely worth a trip.
Amazing place to visit and learn about our solar system /interplanetary stuff ...my best one is moon walking simulator..one of the best places to take your kids to and ignite their interest in science .There is also a planetarium where they have laser shows almost every week. This one is open for limited hours so make it a point to reach early and explore it till closing hours! Have fun learning !
Cool place for people of all ages. Really great for kids though. I was a little disappointed with the sound system in their planetarium ( i went there for a pink Floyd laser show). Still giving it 5 stars though because they have an incredible amount of interesting exhibits, and have friendly staff as well.
A few exhibits were closed due to virus related issues but over all a great experience! Our kids really enjoyed the outside fall activities
Wow I don’t know if it’s covid or the new owners but the entire 3rd floor is closed! All the fun stuff is shut down. I pray after covid they open it back up but an old employee told me that the new owners are taking the 3rd floor playground equipment out, which is extremely unfair to children with adhd who can’t focus all the time and need a few min to run and play in between learning. Really didn’t get our moneys worth today. Hopefully it’s just covid.
The staff was friendly and amazing. The place was really clean, even the restrooms. The Subway inside was fantastic as well. I gave it 3 stars because mostly everything that my children could do was closed due to COVID. We picked this place because the website made it seem like the majority of the place was open for use. What was there to do was fun, but we were disappointed.
I had some much fun. It made me feel like a kid again. I cant wait to visit Tennessee again so I can come back here.
It is open!! However, many of the exhibits are closed and many of the others are broken. It is a great place to take the kids to avoid outdoor weather and have a little education as well. I would visit again, but Im still a little disappointed that so much was unavailable.
Awesome time! My kids love it here and the laser show was pretty too.
It was so fun with my family! So much to play on and see. The cleanliness is also really amazing!
The Adventure Science Center is the perfect family activity, especially in the summer when it gets so hot outside. Lots of exhibits to discovery, and it was great finding things around every corner. Dont be afraid to explore! Also be sure and climb up to the 3rd floor to see a great view of the Nashville skyline (you can cheat and take the elevator). My daughter (6) was in summer camp here all week and had a great time. In camp, they get to do a different activity each day thats centered around a science theme. Theres a Subway inside if you want to stay for lunch.
I still remember coming here on field trips as a kid. Brought good memories.
Very nice facility with a lot of fun things for children and adults.
Fun place for kids of all ages. There were a lot of interactive things that were not working or missing pieces. The moon walk was fun.
Absolutely amazing interactive learning venue. From physics to emergency medical services, the Adventure Science Center has it all. Hungry? Theres a full service SubWay in the museum. We were kinda bummed that Covid-19 was responsible for shutting down the incredible play place at the top tier, but we still had a blast on my sons 12th birthday ️
A great museum run by great people. Has been around for over 20 years and is a great little experience for families.
Years ago, likely every Nashville school child visited the Cumberland Science Museum mostly showcasing fossils and other natural science artifacts. Today the old museum has been transformed into the Adventure Science Center, a fun, modern, hands-on museum filled with physics, chemistry and space-themed activities. Visiting the museum is a family activity with most exhibits geared toward children under 13. However, people of all ages can find something fun to do in the museum. Pick a late spring weekday afternoon (avoiding field trips) for the best experience.
I believe the prices were too steep, but it was a great place to take kids for rainy day. Also, it is educational. There were several things shut down due to the coronavirus and there were also items broken.
Learning really can be fun! We live in Nashville, and see it all the time. It was nice to turn in and enjoy an adventure. On this visit, we decided to go to the planetarium too. FYI, it wasnt that much more expensive, but you cannot only go to the planetarium ( museum tickets are required). There is a Subway inside to eat lunch, but if you only want a snack, there is frozen yogurt.
It was a great deal of fun for my 12 year old grandson and in turn, for me. I would say though that had he been 5or 6 years old, he would have had a blast. I wish they had more to offer older kids. My grandson is one to make fun out of what’s at hand so, I’m glad for that. I personally would say that this is a place to take children from about 3 to no more than 10 and I believe that’s pushing it. If I ever have anymore grandchildren, I will definitely take them between those ages.
My family and I have been going here for years. We love it. Theres always something new to see or do.
Didnt get to spend as much time as we wanted but will definitely go back. It wasnt crowded at all and they had hand sanitizer and wipes everywhere.
Interesting idea. However, the place seemed to be aimed for little childrens amusement and not for education. There was more slides, games, and colorful lights, than anything else. There wasnt a lot of information about some type of things which I feel like should have been more important, such as: Atoms, light, prehistoric life, aerial happenings, the ocean and a few others. The themes mostly consisted of anatomy and space. There are, of course, a few interesting activities and displays which are fun for the children, however, I would not call this place very educational place but more as a themed indoor playground. The most enjoyable places for me to explore were the exibits with stars and miniature sizes of the earths surface.
I highly recommend the Adventure Science Center in Nashville for children of all ages along with their family or teachers. The center was a great experience for our three year old grandson in addition to his parents and grandparents. The center has wide range of well designed interactive science and technology experiences for everyone to enjoy and learn. The center also includes a very unique scientific themed multistory climbing structure that can be entered from multiple floors and has ramps for handicap access to most of the levelsWe also enjoyed the planetarium star theater that had a very good narrator to make it interesting in addition to educational. It also has a space section that allows the kids to experience the feeling of weightlessness. What a great way for children to fall in love with science that could create the passion for their future careers. There is a Subway restaurant in the center that has gluten free rolls in addition to standard options. There are parking spaces in the front row for families with strollers.I believe the prices were: adults $15.95 & kids $11.95 that we definitely felt was well worth the price. The star theatre was an additional fee, but again well worth the price. They also have senior citizen discounts.Great for a rainy day or any day, don’t miss it!
Place was fantastic! Had a tremendous amount to do and see within the 3 levels! We went as a family, grandfather, father and son... there was excitement for all ages. We became members and look forward to returning and experiencing what we could not on the first visit. The team that works there was kind and had impressive service. The place was clean and a great environment for kids!! It is worth the visit! Enjoy, Cheers!
Amazing place to take children of various ages to learn and enjoy.
I love this place! Great for kids and families, super amazing resource for something to do with kids love it.
Kids had a good time. Lots of activities and stuff to check out.
A beautiful experience for the kids! And the parents.
Great place for kids who love science and how things work. Hands on in so many stations. Tickets sold for planetarium show and knowledgeable narrator!
Our family had a blast visiting this science museum! It seems like its for kids on the younger side (similar to the childrens museum we are used to in MN), but had things for all ages. Our 4-year-old had so much fun he didnt ever want to leave. We especially enjoyed the planetarium show in addition to the interactive exhibits
It was a great experience for our 4 yo and 1 yo alike. So much to do and see. Only reason why I didnt give it a full 5 stars is because they could use some investment in a few older areas.
Super fun adventures to be had here! Very hands on and interactive, good for most all age groups -and educational! I went for the first time as an adult on a date and we had fun! Bathrooms are well placed throughout the building. Parents can participate in the fun as much as theyd like but theres ample their kids can do independently.
My three toddlers absolutely loved this place. The toddler area is an interactive playroom. They were able to enjoy the big kid areas too. Lunch at the Subway inside was great too.
My family spent a really fun afternoon here, and its obvious that this is a very popular place to visit. The only reason that Im not giving 5/5 stars is that some of the equipment is well-worn and not working quite right. The price (around $70 for 2 adults, 2 teens, and one toddler with a veterans discount) should command access to equipment and exhibits that are in better condition, in my opinion. All that aside, we had a blast - we will probably return again one day.
Tons of stuff to do. Everything makes noises and works. Went with my childs school for a field trip. The kids all loved it. The huge jungle gym in the middle was a huge hit. My son loved the game with the lazer gun.
I took my elementary school archery team and their families. My kids loved all the interactive activities. They were engaged for three hours!
We absolutely LOVED this Science Center! If we lived in Nashville wed be members. The level of detail and information is phenomenal. We enjoyed the body exhibits. We spent the bulk of our time on that level. I loved the quizzes, the circulatory system, and the digestive system. The space walk was a HIT!The planetarium was superb and the moderator was very knowledgeable. You can tell, she enjoys her job!Plenty activities for all ages!We spent about 4hrs here. And we could have easily done, 4 more!Theres plenty space, classrooms, and an on-site Subway restaurant. The gift shop was small, but filled with many items and reasonably price! This center was worth the stop on our way to Memphis!
Great place to go to. I recommend checking out one of the planetarium shows they have or ride the blue max! The staff there are amazing and polite.
Great place to explore and experience science. Took a group of kids here and they loved despite being to small for some of the bigger rides. Friendly staff very helpful.
I actually signed up to be a member of Adventure Science Center last year, and will probably keep renewing indefinitely. My son has the best time running around and playing with their exhibits, be it the new features that change every few months or the static exhibits (some of which I played on when I was a kid, and dont worry they reflect current science, and I mean real science with evidence and whatnot).Theres a tower to climb with slides and neat interactive features, each of which constructed to impart some focused learning as the kids explore. The planetarium has cool shows that also change regularly. On that note, its not all for kids. There are monthly events after hours for adults, and laser shows set to various musoc features.
Great place to spend the afternoon with the kids give yourself plenty of time to explore all three levels. Parents you wont be disappointed as you can also participate in the fun.
The imagination runs wild for young and old alike. Wonderful, clean, friendly environment that ignites curiosity, creativity, and involves all senses. Fabulous place for kids and adults alike. Creative, interactive displays involve kids and inspire one to consider the inner workings of everything from the human body to sound and light waves to outer space. The planetarium is a favorite as well and with good reason. Its truly an educational and beautiful experience. Overall, and outing with o the Adventure Science Center provides education, fun and exercise for the whole family on a rainy day. Kids can run around the multilevel playground to burn off energy as well. In addition to all of this, there are spectacular views of downtown Nashville from the large, North facing windows. Highly recommended.
Had a great time with our granddaughter here. We got lots playing and learning for hours. If you have kids and are in the Nashville area this is a great place to come. Plus the Planetarium was out of this world.
Awesome and educational place for both kids and adults. Admission is extremely reasonable for all the activities included. You cant go wrong with taking your kids at all. My 11 year old son whom has autism and sensory to loud noises had a blast. He never complained about anything at all!!! We had an exceptional time there on his school field trip.
This place is much bigger than I thought. A little pricey for little children. I paid $49 for me + 2 children. Maybe wait until they are older. The 6 year old enjoyed it more than the 4 year old. Many different sections to check out. Very interactive.
A great place to bring your kids.... They learn while having fun!!!
Truly an amazing place. Have been to similar in many cities and this one hits the fun and variety out of the park. Had some serious kid envy as theres so many cool things.Well maintained, clean, fun, and just so much to see and do.Highly recommended. I am considering returning tomorrow to see what we ran out of time for.
Love the science center, but if they have to keep 50% of it closed off due to covid they shouldnt open it at all. Its not their fault and when things get back to normal Ill change my review to 4 stars
Real fun experience with my 3 1/2 year old however it was extremely crowded and some of the play areas were quite dangerous (huge jungle set) with the amount of kids playing on it. They would definitely benefit from numbering the amount children/parents allowed on at one time. Planetarium show was great! Would recommend !
I love places that make education fun for kids and the Adventure Science Center was definitely one of the better ones! Absolutely worth a visit if youre in Nashville and you have little ones! The Body Quest area was especially great, learning about various systems of the body. The playground and the Universe area were also favorties.
Great place to visit while in Nashville especially if you have kids. Tons of interactive exhibits and fun things to do including a few simulators.
Love the space areas. A nice variety of exhibits.
I had a good time with my family (me, my wife and 4 kids). Although this seems geared more toward elementary aged kids, my teens had fun as well. I wouldnt plan for a full day there, but a half day would be enjoyable. The center was clean and not too crowded (we went on a Sunday afternoon). Some of the attractions had things missing or not working which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. It wasnt bad enough for me to not return, however. The cost for us was $75.75 which included 4 adult tickets (ages 13+) and 1 child. I got in free because I am a teacher! There are other discounts available on tickets as well, just check the website. Parking was free. There is also a gift shop and a place to order food but I didnt visit either of these so I dont know what their prices were like.
Enjoyed it immensely. Great for kids, but I shouldnt try playing around with the exhibits on a busy Saturday morning with a bunch of kids pushing and shoving to press buttons. Extended hours or adult night would be more of my ideal environment.
It was interesting, though, I would recommend brining children. It does go by quickly.
Escape the heat or rainy day deff check it out! We spent 3hrs here and did not sign up for any shows. could have spent more time if we did! Excellent place to let kids explore. Very hands on environment so bring wipes and or hand sanitizer if you tend to freak out about germs. They have a walk on the moon station that was pretty cool
A great place to spend the day with your kids. A ton of cool experiences and neat things to learn.
Waste of time & Money! We’re currently on a Rod Trip to NaperVille from Florida, we decided to visit Science center in Nashville TN.I’m so disappointed with this place being called a Sceince Center, It’s a Science Mess instead. My daughter is 4— She is exposed to Science to a certain extent, however, most of the sections/rooms/Games are for older kids.In order to play or use the area at its best, they must understand the Know-how & 4 I beleive is too young to understand what’s going on in there. My daughter & I didn’t find anything amusing in there except for the planetarium.I’d say- refrain from this Science Mess unless ofcourse your purpose for visiting is make your child(6+) aware about Science, Astronomy, so they may atleast comprehend what they’re seeing.Contrarily, Do Not waste your precious time & money here, rather take ‘em to an outdoor play area, they’re way better in every sense, mostly free of cost! Not so absurdly crowded like this one. Kids were literally crashing into each other especially in the play areas. The Cafeteria was full to the Brim.
It was ok. Not as many attractions as you would expect, mostly NASA themed. Parking is free onsite and its easy to find the place on top of the hill. The planetarium is a must to learn about the sky and stars.
From my past experiences, I would rate 5 stars. This visit though was very dissapointing, most of the exhibits are closed and the older guy upfront refused to give us a military or student discount when we presented out IDs! The brochure clearly states they offer those discounts. Very dissapointed.
This was worth the time. Our boys that are 5 and 18 months old had a blast. We were about exhausted keeping up with them. Plenty to do for both ages. Even has enough to make it interesting for adults and teenage kids. Family of 4 was less than $50 for admission.
Wow. Amazing vender that was generously opened to our conference of 2000+ people at WordCamp US. The planetarium is a must. The catoring was top notch as well and were very informative.
Wonderful child-friendly museum with a great set of hands-on exhibits and displays that introduce kids to music, science & engineering, animals and the human body. Definitely one of the best places to take your children on a rainy day if you live in the greater Nashville area. Prices appear a bit steep at first glance but buying an annual membership is the way to go. Some of the stations or activities are a bit dated but the museum is undergoing a long-term renovation that’ll only improve the experience for families.
Great place for kids to learn and explore
Fun way to spend a couple of hours... highly reccomend the flight simulator, and take in one of the shows at the planetarium
So much better than I anticipated. The pictures online dont do it justice. My kids loved it! We did the combo ticket with the planetarium and spent $50 for the 3 of us. A bit pricey in my opinion but we spent 5 hours there so I guess in the end it wasnt so bad.
We enjoyed our visit here. There were plenty of science based, kid friendly exhibits. Elementary school aged kids can easily spend a couple hours here getting their hands on some fun stuff. We liked the virtual reality and human body exhibits the best. Weve been to several childrens museums and this one is worth the trip - especially considering that Nashville isnt the most kid friendly town.
The Adventure Science Center was a fun place to visit. The space exhibits were exciting for both kids. The moonwalking part was one of a kind. All the staff was helpful and ready to tell the kids (and adults) all about the research, purpose or extended activities.
This place was awesome! Very colorful and appealing to children. I will definitely visit again!
Always fun to play with the exhibits; even better to go into the classrooms.
Wow!! Hands-on STEM w/plenty of physical climbing & activity too. Cannot say enough about this amazing experience. Learn about & explore the human body, the heavenly bodies, earth, and more. Planetarium shows extra but worth it for a unique and memorable experience! A treat for students (read: people) of *all* ages. In-house Subway restaurant for healthier meal options. Eager to return we are!
My 2 girls love it. They climb, and slide and learn new things, now having been 3 times, they are more fearless and confident. Always have a great time. I think they should add some wall mounted hand sanitizers however, as I looked around and saw none. With flu season upon us and some kids coughing and sneezing, would seem prudent to be as safe as possible.
Great place. We had a lot of fun with the family. Great place for kids and adults. We really enjoy what they had to offer.
Fairly decent price for really good hands-on exhibits. The virtual reality experience was amazing! We wanted to see two shows, and I wish the ticket plus show that we bought would have afforded us to see both of them that played while we were there.
Its a pretty good place with lots of places for a kit to explore. We have a three year old son and he loved the space exploration area, and the big multi-level play areas in the center. Its awesome see downtown Nashville from up high. After about two visits though, you will have seen everything there is to see. Weve also been to the Discovery Centrum in Chattanooga, which has more options than this one.Still, its a pretty good place for a small boy to explore.
The kids loved it! We could go back multiple times. Subway employees are super nice and fast.
The kids had a blast! This was a really fun and educational experience.
This place was so much fun. We took my three children (all under 10) and they had a blast. There was plenty to see, touch, and do. The place was clean and crazy busy. We went during the week and there were multiple school groups there. My only complaint was the school kids were pushy and at times obnoxious. The teachers with the groups didnt seem to mind or were over extended and couldnt pay attention. I was annoyed after the third child that was three times the size of my toddler took things out of her hands. It the facility could somehow help monitor the school groups it would be a five star adventure. We didnt try the cafeteria so I cant comment on that.
Great science center to take your kids. The planetarium is really fun and neat to watch the shows and has a great host. There is a big multi-level jungle gym in the middle the kids can play on. There were different sections to go through, for example: space flight, trains, solar system, human body system (nervous system, brain synapses, skeletal system, blood vessels), adventurer section.
Absolutely tons of things to do! So much fun with many exhibits. Even the play area is accessible for adults. Which is a really great touch as you can read the plaques up on the wall to your kids if need be. We even saw the night watch at the planetarium which was a great show! Best highlight was walking on the moon simulation for my kids and I.
Awesome place. Pretty expensive though, and some of the demonstration screens dont work. I recommend they keep everything fixed if theyre going to keep charging mom dad and 1 kid $70 for entry...
Pretty average science center, great for kids although Ive definitely been to nicer ones. A little overpriced considering some of the exhibits were not open.
My 3 year old son & our family love the Adventure Science Center (ASC) and think the membership is well worth it! Friendly staff, ample free parking, very cool planetarium and gift shop plus lots to do and learn at ASC. Currently, it only has about 2/3 of exhibits open due to ncovid - however, you will staff enjoy your time there.
This place was awesome! Great activities and a learning experience for kids you do not want to pass up.
Birthday party for my nephew he had so much fun... Theres something for everyone to do... We will visit again
Lots of fun for an energetic 4-year old. The soda bottle rockets were a big hit!
The trains exhibit will be leaving soon. If you love trains this is a must see. The detail of the 6:1 scale train, the landscaping, the whole layout of the model area is amazing. The history in the film that is shown, and the pictures are very interesting.
Great experience. Make sure your kids can stand louder than normal noises in the headphones area. You listen to different sounds. Pretty awesome. We didnt experience the planetarium in there so Im not sure about that.
