This place is such a special little gem in Nashville. The casual setting and cheap pizza was perfect for a relaxing evening enjoying some incredible blue grass music. Seats fill up and a basic cheap menu is offered. Beer is available by the pitcher. The reason to come here is really for the music. The moving dynamic of musicians ebb and flow as they take turns leading and singing. If you are looking for an intimate evening of great music with the possibility of a popular artist popping in for a few songs, I highly recommend Station Inn.
There is no other venue like the Station Inn in Nashville or even in the whole country, a truly unique and wonderful place. If you are a fan of bluegrass and acoustic music you must see a show here if you have the opportunity. As a Nashville resident Ive gone to concerts here for the last two decades, so many great shows, and even been lucky enough to play here several times with my band. Its a legendary place filled with great bluegrass music every night of the week, run by a wonderful owner and staff. Get a cold beer and a thing of popcorn and settle in for some good ol good bluegrass music!
Im from a small town 3 hours north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I have always wanted to visit the Station Inn. This year was going to be the year, but COVID really put the stops on travel. Our borders are closed. I really appreciate the live streams of bluegrass. It has been my only live music Ive been able to see. Hoping for a better year next year and visiting Nashville and the Station Inn. Once again, I really appreciate the live bluegrass streams.
I absolutely love the Station Inn. I lived in Nashville for six years (2009 -15) and went to many amazing shows there. It’s been great reconnecting through the online/virtual shows but I look forward to an in person show in the not too distant future.
This is always my husband and Is go-to spot. We are locals and this place feels like home. It has that gritty VFW feel. It is not pretentious. When you walk in, everything feels like going back to a simpler time. We always sit in the back in the repurposed third row van seats. The music is always good, the setting is intimate, and you feel like you are a part of the show.
Best place in Nashville for live music! I always have a great time at the Station Inn! I have been there since they reopened after the lockdown and I feel safe and everything is very clean.
Love the Station Inn. Staff is top notch and entertainment is world class. The pizza is pretty darn good too. If you get a chance to see Shawn Camp or Jim Rooney’s Irregulars, do it.
No talking allowed.Edit: I just want to make sure people understand, unlike myself at the time, that this is not a bar for enjoying music and enjoying conversation with your friends. I do not appreciate the owner calling us belligerent, because we were very respectful and left after we realized that this was not the kind of bar we are looking for.
Was there to see Jeremy and Corrina perform on October 3. Great venue, great bluegrass music. Excellent atmosphere.
Great music and atmosphere. The musicians I’ve saw play here are top notch and you never know who will pop in.
Nashville is a place all about making memories. Many of my favorite memories happened in this small spot on 12th over in the Gulch. Best music in town happens here most every night.
We went very shortly after they reopened. Fabulous night of live music!
Consistently some of the best music being played in Nashville happens at tha Station Inn every night.
Loving the great live streams. Fantastic music!
Station Inn is the place to go in Nashville for real bluegrass music. Magic happens there.
The Station Inn is authentically Nashville.it is where my soul is musically healed.
Great and iconic live entertainment bar. One of the best in Nashville. They serve pizza and beer but the best reason to come here is of course the music. They attract some of the biggest names you have never heard of but should know. Sunday’s at the Station Inn are especially renown for their Gospel and Bluegrass sessions. This is the kinda place you expected to find in Nashville only to learn there are not many of these authentic venues left.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: As the sound engineer put it to me, this is a LISTENING room aka not a catching-up-with-friends kinda place. The music is top notch. The musicians take it very seriously and expect a respectful audience. Maybe because of the acoustics, our (what we thought was quiet) chatting between 2 of us got us shushed- literally from the stage- from the very talented fiddler (not to mention her side-eyes!). We were mortified. We got there at 7 and so glad we did because we had a group of 6 and no reservations.Wonderful music, really cool experience, dont go with someone youll want to talk to and be ready to just relax and enjoy the show!
How can popcorn be that good?! Literally the best I’ve had EVER.Oh yeah... and the shows/atmosphere/people are great too. But seriously? What do they do to that popcorn?!?
Great small venue for quality bluegrass music just a short walk away from the overwhelming crowds on Friday night in Broadway. If the bar scene is not your scene, but great live music is check out the Station Inn. $15 cover for 2 hours of authentic, high quality music. Get there early for the best seats. We showed up about an hour before the show and the front row was full but there are no bad seats. Pizza and beer are also decently priced. But you definitely go for the music, not the food.
Iconic Nashville location! See anything here. But be sure to catch The Doyle and Debbie Show on Tuesday nights. You will NEVER laugh so hard. An adult musical-themed country music show. Outstanding and not to be missed!
One of the best venues in town. Ive been going here since I was a kid. Grab a thing of popcorn and enjoy the show! Its not uncommon for a star to take the stage or to sit in for a few tunes. They dont have liquor, just beers on tap and a selection of bottles. Had a great time!
I would like to thank their owner and managers. We came in the last 15 minutes of the Sunday Gospel. They didn’t charge us a cover and let us stay as they changed over the venue for the 7 pm show. They could have booted my wife and I out of the place. We soaked in the ambiance of the place and hung out until the next show which was AWESOME!
Best Bluegrass spot in Nashville!!! Intimate and at home feeling bar with cheap drinks, food food, and wonderful music. If the music is live youll want to arrive early as seats are first come first serve and it fills up fast :)
Amazing live music experience. Cant sing many praises about the food, but that isnt why you go to The Station Inn. We saw Twelve Mile, a band out of Boston. SO pleasant. Next time Im in Nashville, Ill make a priority to go there again.
Easy going place with live music. We went on a Sunday to watch bluegrass the lady at the front helped us find a seat. Thanks! We really enjoyed the hospitality and the music!
Great music. Absolute best of bluegrass and Americana in a unique venue. Dont go there for the food, though and get there early for best seats.
Came in not knowing much about the venue. Didnt regret it at all. Super talented artists and a laid back environment. Will definitely stop in next time in town.
Went on a Monday night and saw Carl Jackson, Larry Cordle, Val Storey and friends...they were incredible! Best deal in town to see musicians like this. Awesome classic country and bluegrass music. Have some craft beer on tap and some popcorn to top off your night. One of my favorite places I was able to visit in Nashville!!
We enjoy going to the Station Inn every time we are in Nashville. We were excited to finally get a bluegrass event there. But, it was a jam session. The Inn was packed. The people who were playing were not on the small stage but off to the side. They did not use microphones. Between the talking/yelling going on and the lack of amplification, we couldnt hear the musicians. We left after about 90 minutes.
Our first visit was last night. Carolina Blue was fabulous!! Thoroughly enjoyed the music and atmosphere! Will definitely make plans to return!!
One of my favorite stops in Nashville. Theres no pretense, no frills. Reserved seating is done with a paper plate. The sound system is adequate, and the acts are, well... If bluegrass and Americana are your cup of tea, youll feel at home. The beer is good, the pimento cheese cracker plate is a great snack. If you are by yourself, sit back at the bar and chat with Mr. JT Gray, the owner. And dont be surprised if he winds up on stage with the headliner act.
The Station Inn is one of my favorite places in the world!!
Awesome and historical venue. The best of bluegrass and more. Located in The Gulch, along with upscale shops, restaurants and more. Get there before 9:00 with the music starts. The crowd thinned out while I was there and I was able to move from the walls to the tables.
It took almost an hour to get in, but the atmosphere and music was well worth it. I would give a six rating if possible. A must see for any traditional bluegrass conisure.
Now this is what visiting Nashville is all about! REAL country and bluegrass music. All of the musicians were talented and there was a nice mix of old time favorites, rarer singles, and even some new songs from local artists and others visiting. The venue is a very simple music hall with 8’ tables and chairs lined up. They had some local beer on tap from Yazoo Brewing in addition to many popular domestics. There are some simple snacks to complement your drinks.
Absolutely, positively a most delightful experience. Come early to even get a seat! Really! Bluegrass new and old by players of all ages and abilities. Players changed in as out as did their songs and leads. A lifelong memory for sure. People from all over the country were there for the experience. Beers 4 bucks! Homemade pizza $10. 12th Ave and Pine. Packed Sundays.
Everything you dreamed of. Fun spot. Great music every night. Go.
A fantastic larger-than-typical listening room. They do real bluegrass with local artists, and the quality of the performers, venue, and audience is second to none. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants an exemplary live music performance.
Best bluegrass in TN sort of small so get there early. You will not be disappointed if a laid back bluegrass bar is your thing. No table service but great limited menu Saw Jr. Sisk last night he was awsome as usual.
Bluegrass baby! at historic Staion inn..place to go for bluegrass
Great venue for bluegrass music. The place is small, but thats part of the great experience. Everyone working there was very nice.
One of the best venues in town. Ive been going here since I was a kid. Grab a thing of popcorn and enjoy the show! Its not uncommon for a star to take the stage to sit in for a few tunes. They dont have liquor here just a few beers on tap and a selection of bottles. Dont miss out on this World Famous Nashville staple.
Great bluegrass music with Junior Sisk and band. Holds about 2-300 people. Very cozy venue.
Fantastic small venue. Gets very busy. My favorite night is Sunday night where its open format and people just show up and join in. Very fun times and fantastic music.
Awesome place to see some pretty authentic music. Love everything about this place. Higher volume would be better.....slightly higher. A must visit!
Incredible gem in Nashville. I hope to make it back one day!
Atmosphere is like a giant sized basement. Mostly an older crowd when i went. $15 cover, $5 domestic beer.Dont come here looking for a meal. Only food is hot dogs (which i didnt try) and pizza, which I wouldnt have ordered if i knew they didnt use pizza sauce. You can get a basket of popcorn for 2 bucks, buttery and salty. If you see a band you like and show up with a full stomach, it can be enjoyable time.
Great music scene, and the staff appeared to be helpful and good at their jobs. Saw a wonderful bluegrass band play. Came just for some live music, but seems to be a good spot for beer/alcohol, too.
I went to the free Sunday Blue Grass jam session. It was a fun atmosphere and music, the audience wasnt so lively.
Enjoyed a great Monday night hereSession musicians play here every Monday.
Best place for live blue grass music. It gave such an interesting vibe. The bar looked like your moms kitchen, and there were tables and school tables all around. I think this really gave a taste of what real music sounds like. Hoping places like these stay open in the coming years. Had a blast! The cover fee was obviously worth it!
15 dollar cover on a Sunday afternoon. No thanks. Classy response. It was some Jesus loving nonsense. Last time I checked that’s as substandard as it gets... god doesn’t exist
The best bluegrass in town. This is where locals go and if youre in the mood to party and be loud, you should choose somewhere else. This is for laid back fun times and serious music!
Visiting from Denver and The Station Inn is a definite highlight from our trip! Came for Bluegrass Night on Sunday and it was a true experience. We were so impressed with the talented musicians and the vibe of this place. If we come back to Nashville were definitely coming to The Station Inn!
Awesome country/bluegrass music with cold drinks and hot pizza.
Bit of a classy dive. Great music, thats all that matters
I loved it. The atmosphere, the beer, the music, the 92-year-old woman who got up to dance around the room. If youre looking for an authentic Nashville scene, definitely check them out.
You will meet God there....at the Sunday Gospel session!! Awesome!
Our last stop on a long weekend in Nashville. Went on a Sunday night after dinner at the Pub. The place doesnt look like much, but the music is incredible. Good wholesome bluegrass music at its finest. Besides the Grand Ole Opry itself, it was a second favorite music venue.
Gotta hit this up if you’re into bluegrass music. Pitchers n pizza!
This was a great place to listen to music! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were kind and helpful.
Great local music. A lot of fun
Awesome bluegrass bar. Excellent sound. Nice low ceilings. Felt very much like a cozy house show.
Love this place. We visit every trip to Nashville
A small unassuming venue which is close and intimate. Great music. Make sure you eat first, as the food is highly limited. Paid a $15 cover to enter, which was collected by a member of the bands staff. Well worth a visit when in Nashville.
Great Blue grass music with regulars, & others jumping in. Cold beer, good atmosphere
Fantastic bluegrass music. Completely casual bar. Beer, soda, water only. Inexpensive snacks. We enjoyed a bowl of popcorn with our beers! Great authentic venue since 1974.
This place has charm out the wazoo. Real, great, live country music without being packed to the gills with only tourists but is still right in town. 10/10 recommend ️️
Total dive but great music. Beer and soda (no liquor).
Super place if you love bluegrass or are curious. Go on Sundays when there is a jamming session! Other days there are (great) concerts. They have food but more like bar snacks.
Went for the Sunday jam. Great atmosphere and musicians. A real down home kinda place. I immediately felt comfortable.
Go to bluegrass Sunday nights. You wont regret it.
Sunday evenings should not be missed. Its such a unique and authentic experience.
Superb music venue in Nashville. Best music in town, friendly staff, affordable beer, and satisfying bar food.My only criticism would be that it seems that you can never (or rarely) purchase tickets ahead of time. I have missed out on some shows before because I wasnt able to get off work before the place filled up. It doesnt happen often, but its a real bummer when it does.Still, the Station Inn is my favorite place in Nashville!
My wife and I had a fantastic time here. The live music was incredible. There are a few local beers on tap and several varieties in bottles along with cheap pizza and popcorn. Its extremely low key with very basic tables add chairs. We sat in something like a high back love seat in the back with a table. The band was great, you could hear very well but it wasnt crazy loud. There was a little old lady in the front that would shooosh anyone trying to talk over the band. It was awesome. This place is all about the music. The $15 cover was the best return on a cover I have ever spent.
Great music venue that takes you to another place in time!
Such a great place to see bluegrass and folk music. Much better than the crowded and over priced honkey tonks on Broadway. Very intimate, simple venue and a great place to meet other folks with the same taste in music.
Cant explain how much I love this place! The atmosphere, the music that is chosen, the intimate performances... the list goes on and on. The only thing that sucks... is when people start talking during the show, Ive never seen management/staff quiet anyone. So be ready to be the Shhh police, because you are on your own!
Saw Po Ramlin Boys. What a great show.
This was a wonderful venue and the band was fantastic! It was one of the first concerts that I didnt need to wear ear plugs at. Great quality sound system. And there was popcorn and beer available for purchase.
Real Nashville great venue. Old school cold beer and hot pizza.
Lives up to its iconic standing as an anchor in the bluegrass universe. Good beer, good people, good times.
