Such a great place to visit with the kids or just adults for some great information on the animals in the area. The staff was beyond friendly and informative. Its not a big place as far as inside exhibits but well worth your time. Nice places to walk outside but hot and wet on the trails while we were there.
Fun and educational. I thought the building would have more interactive activities. But my daughter had a blast playing on the boat and with all the fishy creatures. I would recommend going for a visit. It was a cheap entrance fee and the huge fish tank was super cool.
I hope it was good. Could not figure out how to log on.
Went to the seminar on pythons. The presentation was great - took time to answer all the participants questions. Afterwards I took a tour of the facility and then enjoyed walking the trails.
This place was amazing! The staff took so much time to explain everything... They were awesome with my daughter. I even learned some things as well. Perfect for the mid-elementary age kids.
Great stop on the way in or out of Marco Island. Great exhibits and a neat environment. Its a great half day visit at a reasonable price. Would take a whole day if you want to explore trails, etc.
Even on a with a little rain falling we so enjoyed the trails and the learning center. Very well done and the kids just loved all the things to see.
Greg Curry deserves a promotion. He is a dedicated person who wants nothing more than to protect the greater Naples area from wildfire and make a sustainable eco system. He is a guy who puts whats right above more than most people I know. Fire is not bad when its done right! Curry knows how to do it right. Smoke, its but a thing. When its fire (prescribed fire) for the good of the community, just know it keeps the bad fire from your door step. Fire is natural. Just remember that when Curry (and others like him) is/are doing a prescribed burn. He/They are looking out for your best interest. What a beautiful place Rookery Bay is. Never forget natures wonders! Support your local wildland Firefighters. They need you to make the difference. Cheers to Curry.RegardsJ.
Great place to stop while visiting the Marco island area. Bob greeted us and shared so much interesting information about the local wildlife. Kids loved the touch tank and the pretend fishing boat. We learned a lot!
A real learning experience. I really enjoyed the walk around the boardwalk. If you want to see Florida in the wild check this place out.
Fascinating place and quite a learning opportunity with regards to the estuary and the ecosystem that supports all of the wildlife in southwest Florida.
Liked interactive tank where we could touch the sea creatures. Be sure to watch the movie. Dont miss the exhibits upstairs. Insect repellent is helpful during mosquito season. Walk outside over the bridge. The children loved it.!
Great place to learn about the estuary and everything within especially the Manatee. Bob was super knowledgeable and talked in detail about the area and the manatee.
This place is a gem! Staff, kind and responsive to Childrens questions and enthusiasm . The center was hands on for the young ones...and there was a little boat, indoors that was keen! Plenty of picnic tables outside....so pack a snack. The trails were well kept, and we spotted several interesting things along the way. Thank you Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center !
This was a beautiful place but not quite what I expected. Be prepared to read a lot lol. The hands on wasnt really open so we didnt get to do that. I think I went on the day kids are free so it wasnt to big of a loss but next time I will go to the zoo so I dont have to read so much, Im more of a looker when it comes to creatures and museums. I am however happy to support them and even got a bumper sticker to help.
Grounds and facility are well kept. The learning center and staff do a great job.
Totally friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful place
Rookery Bay is lovely and well worth the visit! Their trails are breathtaking! The educational aspect of Rookery Bay is exceptional however I must admit that my family and I go there for the amazing views of South Florida nature!
Super cool, very informative and a very nice stop after doing the rising tides kayak tour. Also free with your kayak tour!
The Learning Centers Great it cost $5 well worth it great for kids adults and then theres some nice trails easy half mile trails back behind it with a big Boardwalk that walks out over Henderson Creek in Rookery Bay
A great learning experience with a beautiful hike through the wilderness. Plenty of parking.
Fun place to bring young kids. Mine are 6 and 3 and they had a good time. They really enjoyed being able to see some sea life close up and explore. The staff are absolutely wonderful and friendly.
Great place for staying in touch with nature, very informative about native fauna and flora. They help a lot with maintaining and conserving the area and Everglades
Great place to take the kids. Sue was wonderful and every knowledgeable.
This place is a MUST! It is a fabulous educational and entertaining experience! From the hands on displays to the walk through the hammock, you will be so glad you spent the $5 to experience this.
The knowledgeable staff will educate you on this vital ecosystem.
Visited on a Monday. Our kids loved to petting tanks and overall very educational. Very affordable too.
Wonderful experience at a top notch national estuarine research and learning center! Dont miss their programs and events for all ages.
Great place to visit with young children. We got a hands on tour, and my son was able to touch and learn about various fish/crustaceans. Very educational experience.
Really incredible place with fantastic docents and volunteers!
I love everything that this place has to offer. Educational material, trails, as well as an awesome place to learn more about Floridas ecosystem as well as what an estuary is and how vitally important it is to the state of Florida. Had a great time doing some community service here alongside Miss Donna. Definitely give it a shot if you have a chance to visit!
Fabulous place for people who appreciate the real Florida.
Disappointing outdoor experience. Inside there are interesting displays that can hold your interest for a maximum of 20 minutes or so - especially if you are a child. Once you step outside, dont expect to see any wildlife at all. Stopping anywhere at the side of the road in this area will give you a similar view, or better. The facilitys trails are a boring waste of time.
Fantastic volunteers, thank you for sharing!
This is a very nice education center. Bring the kids or just swing by to learn about the local environment. A great community resource.
Always a good time at Rookery Bay . It is such a nice educational place to visit with small kids
Kind staff. Very clean. Petting area was notable. However somewhat small beyond this (realize it is subjective)
My kids loved it here. We thoroughly enjoyed spending half a day here.
A fun and educational place to go right in our neighborhood.
Great place for children and families. Lots of information on local plant and wildlife. Learning center with touch tank. They also offer boat rides and nature walks. Definitely worth the stop on the way to Marco Island.
Awesome place to learn about coastal environment.
Great educational area with a boardwalk. Worth a visit
Was very informative friendly volunteers filled with knowledge.
Good learning experience! Learned alot.
Cool place to take the kids! Probably about 45 minutes of fun in the actual building. The walking trails are nice if you want to go for a walk in the woods.
Easy to find, went here while visiting relatives as a place to take the kiddos. From a boat indoors that they could play on to a small petting tank to a friendly staff to a variety of activities, overall it was a fun experience. We caught one of the nature walks there which they thought was okay but missed the shark talk which was the activity of the day. Still, they had fun, we learned a couple of things and they hopefully did as well so it was well worth the low price of admittance and there was plenty of other activities to do too if we had more time from a reading room to outdoor activities and more.
Very educational and great place to go for light hiking. Really perfect for excursions with children.
Need to go back. So much interesting stuff!
Nice, interesting and informative place. Extensive area for hiking and enjoying the landscape and perhaps a wildlife sighting as well. Friendly and helpful volunteers and staff will answer your questions.
The actual scientists here are very knowledgeable but admin and management fail. This is the most unorganized place. Also, if anyone in your group has any mobility issues, there is no ADA compliance at all throughout the property. They should not be open to the public.
Fair they demand you pay $5 to standaround
Great place for all ages
Great structure, nice boardwalk. Place for kids AND adults. This is a learning center done right.Make you appreciate how unique of an ecosystem Florida is.
Nice place to take the kids on a learning adventure
I was very impressed by the staff here, they really engage you and are super friendly. I actually learned a few things that I didnt know. I will be back again !!!
Took a third grade class here for a field trip and they had a great time. Very informational and the kids loved the touch tank.
Went there for a photography course. Nice classrooms. The center itself is very spacious and educational.
A beautiful and important spot. Tour guides and staff are knowledgeable and truly care about the environment and the guests who visit their facility.
Great place for all ages. There is enough to do for the little ones and scientific enough for to learn something new! Well worth the time.
I usually dont do reviews, but I wanted too for this place. I love the little aquarium inside and the bridge. But I will say, if you have kiddos, I wouldnt do the walking trails. Maybe it was because we went in April but holy crap, there was millions and millions of mesquitos!!!! We put on loads of repellent on us and our boys and still got bitten all over! It looks like I have chicken pox its so bad. So if you have young ones, maybe watch out on the trails.
Awesome place to learn about nature in Southwest Florida my children loved the center great artwork and educational exhibits including walkthrough the estuary
Great Place for the Family. Inexpensive, but lots of information. Clean, well maintained, friendly staff. We will go back again!
Fun place to take the kids and walk some trails. Its hot in Naples in the summer. Winter would be a better choice unless you like getting bit by misquotes.
Fun and educational for kids. Daughter loved the touch tank. Nice walking trails.
Interesting marine oriented museum. Small. We skipped the hike as it was hot. Go early in summer!
Fun place for all
The more we learn about Florida, the more we understand and the greater value we place on places like Rookery Bay Education Center, and the larger Estuaries beyond. Treat yourself to a visit to the Education Center - one of the best in Florida!
A must see if you have any interest in nature and historical information. The staff were great very knowledgeable and informative.
The staff is helpful, but much better trails for free where you can see alot more
Nice place to take an easy nature walk. Spent two hours there with the kids. Not an all day place to take the kids though.
Any small children here would have a blast. I would not go during the wet season though, because the trails have large puddles of water and a lot of bugs.
Very friendly, informative staff.Dr Jeff is a wealth of knowledge and experience. Great for all ages.
Great small walk over the river, nature center informitive, and last year we observed how to handle a python.
A hidden jem. Nature trails, guided tours, daily activities, movie theatre, aquariums & a touch tank. This place has everything to keep your family entertained for an entire day
Great place to learn the ecology of Rockery Bay. Volunteers are the best!If you are in the area, do not miss.
Great place to visit!
As a marine biologophillic, this place is heaven.
Great place to visit with the family to learn more about the environment.
Great way to explore
Very informative. Good staff.
Nature trail/interactive center/touch tank/5$ to get in, overall a nice way to kill a couple hours
Great nature center and trails
Hellscape of mosquitos when we went, but still fun...
Loved everything about it including the nature trails.
