Not hardly the Eco-Tourism Adventure they call it! LOL. Coming from the cold midwest we were happy to enjoy the great weather on the water and did see some wildlife. Their website and name make it sound like a nature adventure and we were expecting to cruise through the secluded backwaters. Its not a bad trip and youll see wildlife but just know it is basically a pricey 90 minute pontoon boat ride around a man made canal surrounded by houses and condos.
Last year we took a tour of the 10000 Islands that promised dolphins, great shelling, and manatees. We spent a couple of hours and saw two dolphins! This tour was not the same. No disappointment here. We saw several manatees as they swam out to the gulf to feed. Captain Jim talked for the entire hour and a half tour explaining details of the manatees life as well as information of the habitat in South Florida. We also came close to large alligators and several dolphins. The tour boat was designed for an intimate tour group of six, and that made it easy for Jim to quietly communicate to us as we completed our tour. GREAT FUN and educational.
My best friend from Connecticut came down for a visit right before Covid hit.....I am so happy I found this wonderful Mannatee tour! I couldnt believe how fun it was and how much we learned at the same time.....we were able to see manatees and even some alligators! If you didnt have the sunglasses needed to see through the water, they were provided. It was a wonderful time and the captain was great!!!!
Captain bill was knowledgeable, but not overly talkative like some captains. This gave us time to enjoy the peacefulness of the boat trip. He pointed out birds, and moved towards anything we wanted to see. He loaned us specialized glasses to see the manatees better in the water. Nice 1 1/2 hour trip.
Captain John was fantastic! He entertained us with jokes and facts while searching for manatees. He didnt give up on our tour until we had a good view of a manatee.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Previously we had only seen a Manatees nose in the bay, so to see groups of manatees and be able to bob around them was wonderful. They are such beautiful creatures. The crew knew where to find them, and were very helpful.
We booked this adventure because my daughter was studying manatees. We called ahead to let the captain know and he chose the guide most knowledgeable about manatees. A scouter boat goes ahead of the charter to ensure manatee sightings and we saw plenty! We learned so much through our captain as well. He did everything to make our cruise special and memorable. We sighed a group of dolphins fishing. He could tell we were enjoying it so he stayed in that area for us to watch. We booked the sunset cruise and he found the perfect spot for us to enjoy it. Next tine you’re in the area, I would highly recommend booking a cruise with this company. Ask for Captain Billy!
Great trip! Saw lots of wildlife, birds, gators, manatee, and even a bear! Captain Rob was an excellent guide
Captain John was awesome! Personable, knowledgeable, and super patient with our kids questions. We didnt see a manatee but not for lack of trying-they even sent out a second passengerless boat to look for manatees for us. Hanging with Captain John learning about the mangroves, alligators, birds, and area were worth the trip. Thanks, Captian John!
We had a great time on our tour! We were the only 2 people on the boat. We did the sunset tour, and got some terrific pictures of both manatees and a sandbar packed with white pelicans! A fun experience and well worth doing!
Capt John eas very entertaining. We didnt see any manatees, but that not their fault. Really enjoyed the ride
Saw 1 Alligator and 1 Manatee. Loads of birds but the highlight of the trip was Captain Johns commentary. Go! You wont be disappointed.
Awesome place to launch of your boat plus a convenience store, & great sight seeing & fishing spots most of all islands & ocean
A great family excursion. Captain very knowledgeable and personable. We saw many manatees, and our daughter and grandson loved it. Highly recommend to visitors and natives alike!
We saw numerous egrets, herons, an alligator & even a black bear, but no manatees. Capt John was a lot of fun, but it was very disappointing to not even see one manatee. That was really the the only reason we went.
I took my 4 year old grandson on this tour. It was a fantastic tour, Captain Barry showed us manatees, alligators and all kinds of birds. It was very informative and a great afternoon. Captain Barry also let my grandsons drive the boat. I recommend this tour to everyone.
I live in Bonita Springs, and had friends visiting from Myrtle Beach. My college roommate was wanting to see manatees up close, as she had only had partial sightings. This tour was chosen, with Captain Storm as our guide that day..long story short, as it was a wonderful experience, Captain Storm found several manatees in a cove, including mama and calves! Along with the visual, we also learned much about manatees that we didnt know.We recommend this tour to all, and hope your experience will be as great as ours!
We had a great time!!! Very knowledgeable staff, awesome animals. Worth every penny...be sure to tip!
Nice clean boat, friendly and knowledgeable captain, and several manatees. I was expecting them to be more in the wild but they were hanging out in the cove by all the homes nearby. Still a very nice experience.
The boat is nice and quiet, not like the airboats. You see the manatees up close. Also birds and alligators. A very nice tour.
Awesome experience.Captain Andrew was wonderful and his little dog, Bella, was a nice addition to the crew. We took the tour with Captain Andrew twice and will definitely plan on going again in the future.Thank you Captain Andrew and Bella.
Great tour for sightseeing, manatee spotting, and up close experiences with Florida wildlife! We went manatee and dolphin sighting as well as deep sea fishing with Captain Bill and it was such a great experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone in the area!
This was an amazing trip. We were on the boat with 4 other people in perfect weather on smooth water. This tour definitely didnt disappoint. Our captain, Captain John, was excellent. Very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I also really liked that he on several times turned the boat around so we could get a better look at something. We saw about half dozen manatees on this trip. The captain was very good at spotting them and several times they swam right up to the boat. In addition to the manatee we saw multiple alligators and birds. Highly recommended and will definitely do this again
I really enjoyed the tour, seeing all the wildlife and hearing from our guide with all of his expertise. I recommend this trip for anyone interested in seeing manatees in the wild.
Captain Rich was a great guide. The boat was clean and easy to get on and off which was nice for my family as we have some who use a cane. The Manatees were right there in the cove and we got a ton of great photos. The guides descriptions and banter was appreciated and kept the tour lively. He understood how much we wanted to see them so we hung around them a bit longer than the other boats. In another area we got to see a few alligators and a bunch of vultures eating (another bird maybe a pelican). It was gnarly but interesting. Really appreciated the fact that he was engaged enough to understand we wanted to watch that for a bit longer (other boats came and went). It was so wonderful having a nice guide who knew the local area and history, really good at quick bird identification, and really knew how to read his audience. In the end he mentioned customary tipping. While I understand some might need a kind reminder, we did not. It felt a bit awkward as I already had pulled out cash for a tip.Glad we went with this group and doubly glad I looked to see if there were any coupons available.Good work Capt Rich!
This has to be one of our highlights during out holiday in Florida. We had the boat to ourselves so felt like our own private charter. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and as well as explaining about the manatees also talked about other local wildlife. Actually seeing the manatees was amazing such wonderful creatures. We also saw a wide variety of birds and a very large alligator! Totally recommend this trip.
Staycationing in Florida we found this great day trip. It takes you back to nature and peace. Enjoy the undeveloped Florida!
Captain John is the Best. Had 2 hours to kill before checking into our hotel so we booked the 90 minute manatee tour. Saw a manatee and her calf less then 30 minutes in. Also saw gators, birds and a raccoon. Captain John was informative and entertaining the whole trip.
Was a great experience. We saw many manatees and learned a lot about their favorite spots to hang out.
Very nice Manatee tour leaving out of Port of the Islands marina. Captain Jason did an excellent job talking about the Manatee (we saw at least 10-15 of them including some mothers and babies), alligators, birds, and wildlife. It was a beautiful sunny day and nice tour for the money. We combined the trip with a side excursion to have lunch at Marco Island. Nice day!
This was an awesome experience! We saw so many other creatures besides the manatees and learned so much about all.The owner is great too. We purchased our tickets online for a time slot but due to gps errors we were running late and worried that we wouldnt get to go out. He was very accomadating!
Such a great tour and I highly recommend checking it out! Beautiful day on the water and we seen multiple manatees, a few alligators, and a variety of birds which included a bald eagle. Captain Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around! We learned a lot of information from him and it’s obvious he has a passion for what he does. Plus his pup Bella is adorable and so sweet! Could have spent all day out there!
I visited in early March. Worth it for once, maybe... We got a discount booking online, otherwise it would have felt overpriced. We had trouble finding the place because signs were not positioned correctly. Our guide was great - knowledgeble and very friendly, though his jokes were kinda worn out.It would have been more fun to go right and only in the mangroves instead of staying at the residential area docks for at least half of the time. There are nice fancy houses to observe and be jealous of though.... We did see a couple manatees (so it is a hit and loose, though there are plenty) and lots of alligators (that you can see just driving the Tamiami as well). It is a very toddler-friendly and calm experience, but not anything near adventuruos.
Captain Andrew was amazing!!! Was not only incredibly knowledgeable and personable, but a whole lot of fun!! We saw alligators, manatees and so much more, and a learned a whole lot along the way. We absolutely recommend this tour, and be sure to ask for Captain Andrew when you come! We loved it!-The Rooneys
Excellent tour. We saw several manatees and many alligators along with birds. Polarized sun glasses were provided. Our captain was very knowable about the area and knew where manatees hang out. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour
Outstanding experience. Superb guide. We highly recommend the adventure.
Great experience to see the manatees in the wild.Skipper was very knowledgeable.
Nice tour of the area. Saw alligators, manatees, a shark and many different birds, including a bald eagle!
COVID RISK.We booked a private manatee-sightseeing tour for two to be vigilant about COVID-19. When we asked, Captain Storm refused to wear a mask and did not provide any other captain who would. Upon long consideration we chose to still get in the boat thinking hed be at the helm and we would be far away. Due to the way they operate the boat trip, several times he had to come closer than 6 feet to us. He also made us uncomfortable with a lengthy speech about how he accepts donations to renovate his boat.
Had a wonderful time with Captain Andrew and his dachshund Bella. He was fun and incredibly knowledgeable. Saw many manatees, a gator, lots of birds. The mangroves are incredible. Fun for all ages. Highly recommend.
First of all....CAPTAIN BILL WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!Seriously the coolest guy weve met in the Naples area! (Thank you Captain Bill!)He was so informative and personable and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience on the tour.We saw a manatee and a couple alligators, a blue egret, 2 bald eagles. And this is in the slow season! Cant wait to go back in busy season! This was a great experience!!
Overall a good experience. The captain was nice and offered up information throughout the trip. We did see two manatees on the trip and several alligators. I do wish however that the trip went out into the 10,000 Islands and not just up and down the canals Port of the Islands in a neighborhood setting. Enjoyed but probably will not go again.
We Decided to take some time off from golfing in North Naples and fortunately we hooked up with Captain Rich to see Manatees. Not only did we see one we saw 7 and the finale was at the end of our tour when we saw a baby calf with her mother(cow) swimming together. On top of that we saw a black tip shady and 3 alligators! It was a precious and exciting experience for the four us to too see plus Capt. Rich. Capt. Rich was very informative about manatees and knew how to navigate the waters to find the manatees. This was an awesome experience at a modest price. Capt. Rich was friendly, and thoroughly loves making his guests happy. Please don’t waste your time, this company and Capt. Rich made it happen. They are the best. They are #1.
Boats and crew were great. Nice gentle ride through really beautiful area. Saw quite a few manatees, some birds and an alligator.
We had a great trip viewing manatees and other wild life. The boat was comfortable and the size of the group (5) was just right. Would happily recommend this experience to anyone going to Florida
This is probably the only or one of the only tours southwest of Ft. Myers focused on seeing manatees - at least out of the ones I could find. I had already gone to Manatee Park and saw a bunch of manatees (not too well), but wanted to see them out on a boat instead. We used a Groupon offer for this tour and followed the map directions to the address listed, but must have missed the building because we couldnt find it at first and didnt know the address is for a storefront. We ended up at the resort kind of lost and called the tour number, where we were told to go to the tables with the umbrella next to the store. It was just a bit confusing finding the place at first, since the person on the phone didnt tell us which dock letter to go to, as the docks were all lettered around the marina. Eventually, we figured it out and were surprised to find that we were the only ones on our tour. There was another boat operating from this company with a full boat, so we really were lucky to be on the private one, even though the captain might not enjoy losing out on more tips by having us 2 only.If I could do this again, I would go at an earlier time and also at a lower tide. We went at 2:30pm at high tide, so we ended up only seeing 2-3 manatees after searching for more than an hour. Wish there were mentions on the website of when the best times to see more manatees are (as in high sighting criteria and factors), but then this company might not get business during those worse times. I probably should have done the research myself anyway before booking.Youre guaranteed to see manatees very close up on this tour. Its just the quantity and clarity that may be different for everyone depending on lots of factors. The good thing is that we were provided with polarized sunglasses, which we also didnt know was ideal for viewing manatees. If only I had known about this to pack a pair for Manatee Park... We also saw a couple alligators throughout the trip and tarpon movements in the water. Im glad our captain made sure we saw some manatees at least, even though we were unlucky for at least the first hour. Because there was another boat at the same time, the captains worked together to communicate where the manatees were, making it easier/faster to find them once they were located.
Captain Andrew was great and I liked his dog Bella too. Saw a ton of manatees, alligators, eagles as well as many other birds. All in all, quite a nice tour.
Spur of the moment trip and Captains Barry and Rich were most accommodating. Captain Rich piloted our boat and was so full of interesting facts. Captain Barry went out ahead to scout for manatees. We were so fortunate to see a Mom and her baby as well as few other manatees, but an unexpected surprise was this really, really big gator. Captain Rich was so adept at maneuvering the boat to get in as close and quiet as possible so we would have the best views while being very respectful of their habitat. Well worth the trip!
We took the 230 pm your and saw manatees, alligators, flying fish and blue heron on are lovely cruise through the mangroves. Andrew was our Captain. He was amazingly knowledgeable and personable!
Great trip. Saw a bunch of manatees. I would have to say the best part of it all was Captain John - very personable and knowledgeable. Plus, thanks for all the laughs. :)
This was an amazing trip guided by Captain Rich! Well worth the money and time. Be sure to pack your patience - it is worth enjoying the views, the manatee hunting and meeting new folks. We saw numerous “gentle giants, including a mom and her baby!!!
We had an amazing time with Captain Rich on our tour. We were so lucky! We got to see a few male manatees “flirting “ to impress a female manatee. And, we also got to see a mother manatee with her calf. Captain Rich is very knowledgeable and really made our tour great!! Thanks for a wonderful time!! Beth & Mike
Loved Captain Andrew. More of a chill, boat ride than full on sight seeing of manatees. But enjoyable for alligator sightings.
Great guide and had a great day
Cpt Andrew (the younger) was very informative about the whole area. Saw lots of Manatees. Great trip
Captain John was great! Very funny and knowledgeable! We saw a few manatees, alligators, a shark, birds and fish. Definitely recommend, its the best way to see them!
Barry was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the environment and the animals. We saw quite a few manatee and some actually with their calves! It was really cool. A couple of gators showed up also to see what was going on. We had a wonderful time.
Was drove 2 hours there from Miami, when we started our trip we found one manatee. Captain said it is not a season for them. Then captain said that a storm coming and it will be better to come back. He did couple circles around the bay there weren’t any manatees there, and dropped us 40 minutes earlier (trip supposed to be 1,5 hours)When we ask main captain about some compensation because I was really disappointed drove 2 hours for 40 minutes boat walk. He said we will do a discount next time for you.So we drove 2 hours again back home.
Great experience! The online booking online is easy. But directions and where to wait for the captain should be indicated. We saw manatees and had a great boatride. Tourist should be aware that this is not a tour of the mangroves, the tour is in a residential areas but it does affect the charm of seeing the animals. Would do again.
Great time seeing, Manatees, gators and many birds!
Awesome Manatee tour! Our captain was extremely informative and the boat guarantees a sight of the magnificent animals.
Captain Barry was so informative and knowledgeable about the manatees and other wild life. It was 1.5 hrs long but went by so quickly. Thanks again for everything .Mskaren.
This place was amazing! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and felt like he really loved his job. Got some really good sightings. 10/10 would recommend. Tips appreciated for the guides.
We went on this trip in June (off season for Manatee spotting) but Captain Jim managed to find some and it was one of the highlights of our stay in Naples. There is something magical about Manatees! Only knocking off a star as communication is not great. We booked and turned up even though it was raining as no one had told us not to come. Overall though a great family trip if you’re in the area. Thanks Captain Jim!
Awesome! Saw many manatees and Capt. Rich was a great narrator. Saw Gators and fish and birds. Could have ridden that boat for hours.
Had a wonderful time! Captain Rich was amazing! We saw manatees!
It is expensive. With tip for 4 adults and one child it was $205. It is on a covered pontoon boat and you cruise into a housing community to see the manatees. You are not getting a boat tour into the Everglades. We did see manatees and one with a baby. We did also see two gators. It was neat to see them but disappointing when you realize you are boating a few hundred feet from the marinia into peoples backyard. Our captain had his dog on board which our 6 year old enjoyed and the captain let my son drive the boat which he was estatic about. The only other negative was another boat captain crowded us out of an area just as a manatee was surfacing and the captain started yelling at the other driver which made me uncomfortable and complained about that guy the rest of the trip. The captain did give us extra time so we could see a manatee and we saw several so that was appreciated. Overall, it was worth it as my son still says it was the best part of our vacation and gave him a special memory. However, I have no desire to pay that kind of money to do it again.
We was lucky and saw one alligator and two manatees. The captain was experienced and without his help no any chance to see animals.
Their website is the best part of this tour. We arrived for a sunset cruise at the time we were given and no one was at the marina, called and was told it would be an hour later. When the tour finally got started we were told the sunset cruise isn’t a good time for manatees - their website says it was the best (and most expensive) opportunity to see manatees. We did not see any, our ‘captain’ did not share any manatee facts and spoke to us very little, they did attempt to find manatees in the brackish water. The pontoon appeared to be in questionable shape and I wondered if it would pass an inspection - would not recommend this tour to anyone.
If you want to see a manatee, this is the place! Granted you’ll feel like you’re in someone’s backyard, because you are.
Captain Bill was awesome, super friendly and knowledgeable. He found us manatees, a pod of playful dolphins that swam with the boat for a while, jumping and playing around our boat, gators and some awesome birds including a bald eagle, way above an beyond expectations. We went at the very end of February after days of rain so we were worried we wouldnt even see manatees but there were tons, thanks Captain Bill!
Captain John was great, lots of learning with some laughing too
Awesome guide..Jersey Jim informative and fun. Amazing encounters with the manatees. I loved it.
Outstanding!! Everything promised & more. Manatee (lots of them), alligator, dolphin and multiple water fowl. Bill was a knowledgeable captain. And magnificent weather was the bonus. Well worth the time & money. Be sure to look for the 20 percent discount coupon.
Captain Storm was epic....he put us right on the manatees immediately. Great day on a great boat.
We had a tour with Captain Storm and it was great. We saw lots of manatee including several calves with their mums. Captain Storm was very entertaining and also knowledgeable. It was a lovely way to spend 90 mins. Would highly recommend.
Captain John is an excellent tour guide! He is full of fun facts about the area and has lots of jokes to keep you laughing! It was raining and cold, but we still got to see manatees, dolphins, herons and lots of other birds, and even an alligator in the water! The tour was excellent, but it was Captain John that made the tour a bunch of fun!
Pre booked online and got a great discount. Captain Storm was a great host and guide, educational and funny. Saw 5 manatees, 2 of which were babies, also saw 3 alligators. Calm boat ride with a cover so we never got too hot.
Captain Bill was great and we got to see manatees and rare birds.
Capitan Andrew was great! Fabulous time
Really good and enjoyable. Saw Manatees, Alligators and a bunch of beautiful birds. The Captain giving us the tour was nice, funny and managed to tell us a lot of different facts and made it a lot more interesting than just looking at stuff.
Very worried we werent going to see any manatees at first but our Captain, Barry, was very knowledgeable and found us two manatees right away! Stayed with them for an extra 30-minutes at no extra charge to make sure we got a lot of good pictures. Captain Barry was very understanding. We booked a trip the night before but the weather was not good so he let us reschedule to the morning. He knew a lot of facts about the manatees, area, and other wildlife. It was very fun and enjoyable. Will definitely look him up again the next time my family and I visit.
Captain Rich was so full of information. As soon as he stepped on the boat he asked my son his name and called him by his name each time they interacted. My son is 5, impatient, and full of questions. Captain Rich answered each of questions with such enthusiasm. This was our first manatee tour, we are from Chicago, and the five of us in our group had an amazing experience. We saw 1 pod of 7 and 1 single manatee, 2 alligators and several types of birds. Rich made sure to bring out all his findings to keep my son engaged. Rich provided a lot of information not only about the manatees but vegetation, the homes, the way the water ways work. He is a lovely man. He even jokingly gave my son a nickname after he asked 20 min in, when it would be over. That name, short trip fits my child more than he could have known & came home with us!They way in which he presented the polarized glasses made my son really feel like Superman. He loved the entire thing and is still talking about it.Man inside the little shop was a bit abrasive but Im not sure hes connected in any way.
Saw a couple of manatees and some alligators but it wasnt amazing manatee viewing. We had a party of 7 and they split us on to two boats when it seems they could have easily accommodated us on one. Then we had to pay a large gratuity for the size of our party. Our Capt was wonderful, captain Rich, but there was a lot of drama between the boat captains and the owner and it was pretty uncomfortable for the guests. Too much drama and too expensive for the limited manatee sightings.
We were out 5 minutes and saw dozens of manatees. They were everywhere. Mothers, fathers and babies. It was such fun. Can’t wait to go back. Would highly recommend everyone go to Manatee Eco-Tourism Adventure.
Captain Rich was awesome! Trip was very educational and we saw a ton of manatees, alligators and endangered birds. For the price, the hour and a half boat ride was WELL WORTH the cost. Highly, highly recommend!
The knowledgeable and personable Captain Rich took a group of young men and mentors from Operation 300 out for a late afternoon manatee tour. It was a very relaxing and informative trip as Captain Rich knows much about the history of the area and the manatees that call it home. We saw several manatees and the boys got to drive the pontoon boat which they found to be very exciting. Thank you Captain Rich for a great experience im sure we wont soon forget. Scott from Operation 300
