Cool half mile boardwalk thru this part of the Rookery Bay National Preserve... Lots of informative signs to help you learn all about the flora and the fauna of this area... Boardwalk is old and well travelled... Bring your binoculars as there is a chance to see many types of birds and other wildlife... Two observation decks, one overlooking the bay and one on the ground for those of you patient enough to watch for wildlife...

We enjoyed the nice 1/2 mile nature walk on the boardwalk. There were good views, and some wildlife to see. The walkway is totally elevated, so you dont have to worry about getting wet. Its also handicap accessible.

Beautiful, short walk. We went in October in the rain and encountered a bunch of very persevering horseflies. Once we sprinted through the start, they cleared, though. Unfortunately, our coming in wet season seemed to allow any alligators too much water cover for us to see. We still got to see pileated and hairy woodpeckers and a large heron. Overall, we enjoyed a beautiful boardwalk over natural marshlands. The boardwalk itself is handicap accessible, and parking is available in a lot at the start.

Very peaceful, variegated elevated nature trail, with high overlook point to see over the red mangrove wetlands. Saw a few wild birds, enjoyed the break from the traffic and shopping malls. Volunteers are friendly and helpful, and guided tours are offered. Easily accessible from Collier Blvd. Drive slowly to avoid bikers, walkers, animals on access road.

This nature walk was totally amazing. It was so interesting to see the topography landscape changes as the altitude in the environment changes. The nature walk was extremely informative. The Conservancy volunteers had great knowledge and were very fun and made the trip very interesting.

Easy to get yet faraway enough from roads and buildings to feel out in nature. Nice boardwalk path that leads to an observation deco overlooking backwaters with different water birds. Many informative signs along the way highlighting the different plants and animals of the marsh

This is almost completely unknown boardwalk held in goid condition by volunteers. I leads through schrub pineland through transition lanscape and ends on an open body of water which has an excellent platform for bird watchers. The is no other board walk like this in our immediate area.

Great easy walk, close to city but feels like you are in the middle of the Everglades. Boardwalk trail all the way through with a lookout halfway through the trail. Benches are located throughout and good signage. My cat really enjoyed the walk!

Visited this place few weeks ago with my camera searching for birds and wild flowers. I found some road side flowers, but not many birds....The 1/2 mile, wooded fenced trail perfect for every one, accessible to wheelchair. along this walk, all kind of plants, wetland plants and tree. no birds or alligator, actually.... Higher, over the lever of the lake, a comfortable, roofed place with great view to all around. bench to seat, with your lunch wait for bids with a good 400 to 600 mm lens.....Butterflies Garden plants and native plants abandoned.

Ask for Bob to give you a tour! He knows the flora and fauna, their Latin names, and stories of nearly each one. A long time volunteer with the Conservancy, hell treat you to an educational, but well-paced tour.
