Great place for kids or adults! Lots of easy to read signs explaining the history and local flora. If you hike, skate or ride bike, the pathways are easy to follow and kept clear of debris. Saw plenty of people enjoying the Frisbee disk golf course and some others launching a canoe from the landing. Also have plenty of parking. If you have kids, they will love the outsude playground and the interactive displays inside the nature center building. Plus they have/offer small outside group activities for the children. All in all a great local attraction and well worth your time to visit!
Knoch Knolls nature center is a great place offering many activities for children as well as grown-ups.Whether you wanna ride a bike on long wavy trails,or hike/jog,or if you want children to have some fun outdoors, running, playing, sliding, climbing,Or if you only wanna sit, relax & rejuvenate—this is certainly the place to be!Apart from this, Fishing, Kayaking are other fun projects you might wanna consider doing at Knoch Knolls. However, the main focus of my visits, more often than not, prevails around hiking & capturing colors through my lens.#hiking #kayaking
Kayaking isn’t. Water is too low.lots of low gravel rocks along the. We enjoyed the scenery. However, not the low kayaking. U can bring ur own inflatable-beware that u will have to step out and pull yourself out. The boat gets sticks for about 1-2 miles.
Clean and maintained very well, people are friendly and respectful of social distance (2020!). Very good for family as well as individuals into biking and hiking.
Oh yeah, nice clean/well take care of place with plenty of space for a lot of outdoor activities, picnic, biking, walking.Yes Ill definitely go back there more often and yes I do recommend this place to anyone.
Great place - for walks, picnics, outdoor activities, cycling, jogging. the nature of this place is carefully preserved. its great that there are natural paths in the forest. but parents need to be careful, as the river slope is very steep and not fenced, the child may fall. Also, if your dog is very active and reacts to wild animals, then be careful - there are a huge number of squirrels and chipmunks. my dogs would be crazy about wanting to catch them))) a very picturesque river where you can swim in a canoe. Unfortunately, I could not get to the local museum, as it closes at 5 pm. admission is free and there is a private parking, but small, so many visitors are waiting for free space.
I go mountain biking here all the time, sometimes it can be a little crowded with families and little kids because this is also a disc golf course and just a regular trail, but only on the main paved track. If you go off onto the single track you hardly run into anybody. Definitely recommend some bug spray, at first I got eaten up by mosquitoes. Its a beginner type single track about 10 miles long. There are misc random off trails inside the initial circle trail that are fun to just go off randomly on.
Has great paved paths for longboarding or running, and some nice secluded paths for walking and biking. Only issue is with the insane amount of frisbee golfers that circumvent here.
Amazing, nature/recreation area. Scenic biking paths, wildlife abundant, fun stuff to do (play area, disc golf)
Kayak put in was nice but a little too shallow in two spots when we went. Park is great
Such a wonderful experience! I try my best as a stepmother to take our 7 year old on fun adventures. I checked online and ran across this place we packed up a backpack and went immediately many many walking trails places to fly kites Place soccer go fishing Wade Barefoot in the water go kayaking canoeing even the staff in the free Nature Center is amazing. We were stopped by a wonderful regular visitor who told us how much more beautiful it is once the flowers start growing I cant wait for us all to go back what an absolute Joy
Great playground and nature area, nice indoor area for a bit of quiet play. Would be nice if they converted one of the private rooms to a public playroom/ nature library that was available to all kids with seating for adults. The one that faces the pond would be fantastic and more widely shared than it is right now.
One of Napervilles many green spaces. The Nature Center also a great experiance - especially with children who will learn about the local plants and animals.
Beautiful park & area overall. Great to hang out for kids & adults alike...
I love this place its always fun especially for kids at the park. its nice to go if you wanna take a hike or go to a nice playground.
Gorgeous park. Fun and not too difficult disc golf course with a good variety of shots.
I have been here now a couple of times with my kids. It is a great little nature center. And the nature center there are a couple of different animals such as turtles and fish. It also has a doc that you can go on that overlooks the river and fish from. we love this place because in addition to the nature center it also has a park right next to it. It is the perfect combination for kids to play on.
This place is amazing.
View was nice.
The playground is unique and has an area for toddlers and one for bigger kids. The indoor center kept my 2 year old entertained for an hour and she didnt want to leave. There are also a lot of trails to explore!
My daughter attends Pre-K classes here, the facility is full of hands on learning stations, a snake, turtle, salamander and fish tank, and different activities scheduled through it the year! Awesome spot for kiddos!
Its a fun place to visit with family. Lovely scenery, walkable, old trees all around.
This is our favorite local park. Pretty trails in the woods, nice disc golf course, great playground, pretty river with a bridge. We like to use Knoch Knolls for kayaking. Theres a big parking lot, clean bathrooms and easy access to the river with a beautiful peaceful stretch that feels like youve travelled miles away. Great way to relax.
Great place to run. Great trails. Mix of some technical trails with grassy trails. Paved loop for walking and bikes.
Went on field trip, very interesting and informative. Lots to see, do and learn. Beautiful backdrop.

Love that there are activities for all age groups, and most of all that they are separated. Older kids can be a bit rough with the young ones but here they have separate playgrounds.
This is an outstanding place for a family to spend an afternoon. There are a variety of activities that families can take advantage of. Including a great childrens playground, walking paths through the woods and a picnic. Beautiful area to walk and enjoy awesome nature. Great for kids and adults to enjoy the Dupage River and a wonderful walking trails.
Theres not much there (large native fish tank, a few reptiles/amphibians in aquariums, a table with puzzles/toys for small children, a couple of wall displays about native flora/fauna and the buildings conservation features), but the staff is usually friendly and everything is well maintained. The building is a nice example of pleasant, welcoming, green architecture. The bathrooms are clean and open longer hours than the nature center.
Sick frolf course. Great place to walk your dog and rip bowls. Well paved trails also.
Nicely done nature center, playground, and picnic areas. Well maintained paths that bring you through the woods and prairies.
Beautiful setting.great trails
Always a great time for the kids and family alike! Nature Center is a great place to visit! The park has always been a fantastic place for walks, runs, bike rides, and family events! Always worth the trip!
Nice place to take a walk through woods and plains. Nice playground area. Kids friendly.
Wonderful forest getaway! There are many side trails to explore through the trees. I even happened to find a geocache along one of them. This is a great place for a nature walk.
Wear comfortable shoes. Bring water. Enjoy Nature at her best
This place makes my heart happy! Great place to bring the kids! They have an AWESOME playground!
This place is beautiful design will has little pockets but it also has a large grassy areas beautiful flowery areas I think about 3 different Bridges it is picturesque you can enjoy this if you are a runner or hiker but best believe better bring plenty of mosquito repellent
Too hot to explore outside but the Childrens Museum set up.some extra fun stuff inside and the kids liked the space and exhibits
Great place for kids to run around. Science center is interesting to see the animal displays.
Tons of activities great place.
Good place to relax n have picnics ...a small play area is also there fr kids to enjoy
Informative, interesting indoor exhibits, with a wall sized aquarium and terrarium with locally found wildlife. Fun activities for little kids, and a delightful playground area, and a lengthy walking path surrounded with native flowers and bridging the small river, a tributary to the DuPage. Nice way to spend a couple hours on a weekend morning.
We go to Knoch Knolls a lot to walk in the woods, bird watch and ride our bikes. We stopped into the nature center and the displays are very nice and should be a stop for families when visiting. I was a little apprehensive when it was being built as it was placed on a nice grassy field. But what they built there along with the playground has transformed the park in a very positive way
Nice fishing. Caught 2 bass
Great place for a bike ride. Nice paved trail, well taken care of. Also a great place for a walk in nature and a well maintained park and bathroom facilities.
Excellent place for kids!!! Clean area, nice staff!
Very interesting and very helpful people. Planning my granddaughters baby shower here.
Beautiful nature center & park and very friendly staff!
I took my school aged spring break camp here. They loved seeing the snakes and fish inside and all of the cool equipment to use at the playground.
Beautiful and well kept playground, a nice little (really) interior with some exhibits for kids (aquarium, snakes, toads, etc). The restrooms are well kept and clean, and there is a drinking fountain with a water bottle refill station as well (really nice to have). The paths are expansive and there are some nice entries into the river if you feel adventurous. There is also a frisbee golf course (there’s an up charge), a picnic area, and a labeled fire pit (though we didn’t see it). Nice place to bike with kids, let them unwind on the play set, and have a picnic.
Went for flashlight eggs hunt. My youngest had a blast. Clean, beautiful area. Cant wait to bring the family back during the day.
Love this place. Natural scenery abounds.
My dog and I love to come here for walks. It is so relaxing and picturesque. It must be popular with other dog lovers as there were 2 stations for waste bags that were completelyEMPTY on a Saturday morning.
Fantastic nature park, great place to take the kids, lots of fun learning opportunities, and to top it off an awesome playground! Thanks again and say hi to Flicker for us!
Beautiful location, bridge, river, great paved walking / cycling trail but the rangers are overzealous. My son, the scout Senior Patrol Leader for his troop was testing his new hammock for summer camp and he was rousted within minutes by a ranger.
Great local hiking spot :)
The nature center is smaller and one room. They have a few animals and a play table. There is an outdoor playground my 3 & 6 year olds enjoyed. And a very nice walking trail.
I went grilling here and I enjoyed every moment of it. This place is historic as well as amazing and fun. The are bike trails, as well as a river for kayaking if you choose. There is a large grassy plain, enough to play a game of football If you were to really desire it.
Its a neat place to visit once with the kids. They have a few reptiles inside and a huge fish tank. The whole place is supposed to be eco friendly, even uses rain water to flush the toilets. They have water bottle filling stations and externally accessible restrooms. They offer 2 classrooms through the school district for preschool and you can rent them out for events.
The facilities are great, and the staff is knowledgeable. The park is super awesome, but I feel like there arent a lot of options or space for more than just a few kids at a time. The trails are awesome, and we have a good time looking for insects and other wild life.
Great trails for running or walking. Also a paved outer loop. Quiet.
Great little place, very organic, LEED platinum certified. Lovely view, nice rest stop on a long bike ride. Impressive fishtank, eye-pleasing live plant wall. Events and activities for kids. Try it for your kid birthday party.
Nature center is small. One trip to it and youve done it. Decent disc golf course but many holes get soggy after rainy days due to the proximity of the river it lines. Good park for jogging or biking and you can access the sports park from it as well.
Signed up for a day ride. Fantastic!
Pretty place for fall photos. The playground isnt awesome and it is kind of removed from the rest of the park. But, plenty of passive, open space and a nice water feature/river running through the place. Parking wasnt a problem on a Sunday when we went.
I was excited when they were building this place. It offers a nice playground which is good if you are a kid, or have kids. But I was hoping it would be more open to the public for information about surrounding nature - sort of like a Nature Museum.
They have an amazing, huge aquarium in the center of the building with all native fish. Great educational material.
Great staff. Awesome trails.
Good mix of well-maintained easy and medium difficulty mountain biking trails. Decent 18 hole disc golf course.
Great place to stop and commune with the outdoors. Frisbee golf course available as well as a new nature center. Lots of trails in both wooded and prairie settings.
Nice place to take hikes or cookout
Cool informative facts all around the place talking about plants, trees, animals...Also has some real animals inside..Fish, turtle, lizards. And the staff was friendly and always willing to answer questions.
Great place to take the family for a day. The nature center is a cool showcase of sustainable and eco friendly technology. Trails, frisbee golf, and kids park are fun too.
I went to pathfinders camp here when I was very little and now often return here to go hiking because this park is gorgeous. A few miles of trails in the woods and on the prairie next to the DuPage River. The new nature center is awesome go check it out!
“Nice Disc Golf Course”Over the past few years, Naperville has put a lot of money into this park with the Nature Center, bike paths, paved parking lot and 18 hole Disc Golf Course. Major improvement from the gravel lot and 9 holes that used to be here. Very nice park.
Great place for preschool classes, family hikes and bike rides! Park doesnt have much to play on, but we go for the nature!
Beautiful park, lots of shade and sitting areas
We love bringing the kids to play there, and walk around.
Beautiful place to go with or with out kids
Kids love it here. They have a little museum with live Illinois fish and wildlife. Bike trails are immaculate. Large playground.
Outdoor play area is great for toddler and elementary school kids. Plus you can go inside a pit and there are extremely clean restroom onsite. Looking forward to going on the bike path. Tons of parking. It also hosts special events and you can take care of Park District administration/sign up inside.
There are a lot of trails and it is very pretty but wear mosquito repellant if you go when the weather is warmer.
Beautiful!!
Easily overlooked gem of the park district. Beyond athletic fields, there are scenic hiking trails, historical points of interest, fabulous nature center, knowledgeable staff, and great proframs/events.
Jewel hidden in city of Naperville
Awesome. Great trails. Horrible mosquitos! Awesome playground too.
Nice nature center, nice grounds
Beautiful and clean nature for sport and children play.
