Interesting tastingCombination of local grower and burgundian wine maker. Expensive but elegant wines. Not for the faint of heart. You must love elegant wines to enjoy.
Awesome wine, very good chardonnay + a few reds.
Appointment only. $45 tasting fee waived with 3 bottle wine purchase. You will buy 3 bottles. Their wines are delicious. Their sommelier is very detail oriented. Makes for a fascinating experience. Ask to see the concrete egg.
Appointment only. Super casual. You get right in to the wine. Nice. Not a must see.
You need to make a reservation. Went with my family. It was no show but very scientific and Eddie, our somm, was amazing and adorable. Also they have a concrete egg...nuff said.
HDV wines are unbelievably amazing. We had no expectations of what our tasting might be, and every part was an incredible experience. HDV is a by reservation only, so our group had a completely private personalized experience. they even printed custom tasting menus for us. We were first greeted by AJ, president of HDV. He showed us a private dining area where our tasting would start. The sommelier, Eddie, took over to begin our educational adventure. He took a scientific approach with a history lesson attached. Due to the prominent lineage of the families in shaping wine making in CA & France, the origins of the label also provided a history of the Pinot grape and Carneros valley. If you like Syrah w characteristics of that grown in a slightly colder climate & a bit more earthy, this is a must visit! Also, they are one of 20 vineyards w a cement egg.Eddie was entertaining & knowledgable, wines were amazing and our group had a fantastic experience. Not recommended for large groups or those on a schedule.
