If anyone wants to escape reality and genuinely relax...this is the place to stay. From the moment you enter the Wauwinet the staff and ambiance win you over. You can relax outside on the lawn overlooking the bay- or you can cozy up in the parlor room with a delicious glass of wine! The picture don’t do this place justice...come for the weekend and you will want to stay forever.

This may meet the definition of Utopia ! We took the boat from Town out for the lunch. It s on the far end of the island and the boat ride was very fun and social. The meal was incredible and the location is surreal.

Exceptional experience. Cant wait to go back yet!

Amazing place. Friendly and professional staff. If you are looking for a place to stay outside of downtown, this is the place. Beautiful bay views from the garden area, access to a beach on the ocean side, shuttle and water taxi service to downtown, and great food at Toppers.

I seen the truck out side making a delivery so i know they get their produce from Sid Wainer and Son and its always fresh

Overall it was pretty great. Maybe its because it is such a high class hotel that most guests dont like doing certain things themselves, but for me this lacked certain things I usually enjoy in most or all hotels at which I stay which says a lot since this was probably the most expensive hotel or resort at which Ive ever stayed: - coffee machine with complimentary bags of coffee in the actual room - vegetarian room service options for lunch and dinner - a mini-fridge in the room - late night room service (if I remember the room service was a only available until 10pm or 11pm); this is a much bigger problem than normal when combined with the lack of a mini-fridge and lack of local late night third-party delivery options - a complimentary breakfast that extends beyond 9am and that includes more than just pastries and coffee - more water availableOverall, I very much enjoyed our stay. I know I am person who sleeps later in the morning than most and stays up later at night than most, and I am person who drinks a lot more water and coffee than most. But I frequently found myself hungry and thirsty.

Just lovely - the rooms, the dining, bar, library, entrance hall so nice and a few minutes to the Bay beach or Atlantic plus gorgeous lawns with loungers where you can watch the sunset and all the staff are amazing!

What an amazing experience overall and a must comeback!! As soon as we arrived and was greeted by a wonderful smile (Hennis) to the overall customer service throughout (Alli at the front desk and team amazing job), to the afternoon prosecco on the beautiful green lawn chairs (AMAZING)!. Alex thank you for being great and making us feel warm and welcomed and for creating one of the best cocktails the painkiller that I will definitely miss and dream about. Robin and the entire staff are second to none and sad I had to leave but I left with amazing memories that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing experience. Bella

Everything! What a magnificent place. Like heavenon earth. Quiet. Elegant. From the lawn on the bay to the private beach to the beautiful bikes with baskets to the wonderful people and service. Staff can’t to enough for you. Have been going every August for 5 years and hope to co time to do this for life. Just wish I could spend the entire summer there!

Went to Nantucket for a wedding and stayed at the Wauwinet. The experience was excellent in every regard. The food was great, the beds were comfortable, the house was clean, the service was great and personable, the property is gorgeous. We had many good memories there but beyond anything else, I had forgotten a shirt for the wedding I was attending - rather than calling me a cab (which was my request) the owner personally took me in to town to buy a shirt and then personally dropped me off at the church. Would come back without a doubt, great place run by great people.

My girlfriend and I had a six day visit to this nice remote hotel. The property was approximately a 20 minute complimentary shuttle ride to town. The hotel does not have a pool but has two beaches for its guests which were very convenient. We have mixed reviews for the staff. Portions of the service staff were excellent James who assisted with our luggage was great, the servers on the lawn area did a great job as well. The front desk area lacked knowledge and overall customer satisfaction. Upon leaving we requested a late check out from Chris who immediately denied our request. He also failed to get us a taxi to the airport after he told us he arranged this. Sarah stepped in and not only accommodated us, went above and beyond.

Wonderful couples get away! We loved it.

It was a rainy Saturday when we arrived for brunch at Toppers. However, our food didnt disappoint. Service was very prompt and friendly, and the food was marvellous. Id definitely return on a day with better weather for another meal on the lawn instead.

Extremely friendly and efficient staff, impeccable service, excellent food, very private location. Shuttle service to town center every hour.

Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds. We were put in a King Suite on the first floor (Room 102) at a nightly cost of $700. The room furnishings were very nice but the room had a terrible musty and mildew odor. It was overpowering. When we complained, Management seemed to know that this room was known for this smell and did not express surprise. We were not offered the opportunity to change rooms, despite a number of vacancies. Extremely disappointing experience with a Relais and Châteaux property.

My room was very small but very comfortable. The service was excellent, everyone was very polite. Not near the main part of town but in a beautiful setting right on the water.

Top notch hotel and restaurant spectacular view

My wife and I stayed here summer 2015 for three nights and it was wonderful. Summer 2017 we returned and it was again fantastic except that in the intern they had updated their in-room thermostat controls to motion sensor units.Three nights in a row I went to sleep with the room temperature perfect and then woke up sweating in the middle of the night. When I sat up in bed, all of a sudden the air conditioning for sprang to life.Im sorry but for over $800 a night I should be able to have the room set to whatever temperature I damn well please.I sent an email to the GM and he never got back to me so here is my review. Dont stay here if its hot outside and feel free to call me anytime GM.

Whoever gave this hotel more than 2 stars, have never ever ever been to a descent hotel. The beds are horrible, no elevator, the carpets are dirty, the bathroom is soooo small, the decoration is the cheapest, the bar is a joke. There is no pool, the tv is maybe 32”... again, The beds are horribleee... the closets are so small you can not even fit a carry on bag.. food is so overpriced.Remember you are paying over $1000.00 for the smallest and most uncomfortable room you will probably stay in your life. And thats the cheapest in this hotel.. believe me i have been in many hotels. In average 15-20 different hotels a month, All year longThis wauwinet is maybe a 1-2 stars hotel anywhere else in the US or maybe a 3 star MOTEL.Ps: my opinion is completely objective.

I am disappointed that The Wauwinet fell short of my expectations. I never write negative reviews but I feel very compelled to do so just to let other newlyweds know that it may not meet their expectations either. My husband and I stayed there this past September right after we were married. Granted, the weather was pretty bad as Hurricane Jose was headed up the coast. Cape Air didnt send my luggage with me on our flight so when we arrived at The Wauwinet I asked the front desk for a toothbrush (I didnt get my luggage until the following day). They said they didnt think they had any, but would check. They never got back to me. I also thought they may do something because we excitedly shared we were just married, but they barely congratulated us. Then, they woke us up at 8:00AM on the morning of our departure to clean the room even though checkout wasnt until 11:00AM. The icing on the cake was that weeks later, we learned my husbands sister actually called the hotel, arranged to pay for the stay as our wedding gift, and asked that there be a card and message surprising us with this....we were given no message. I was mortified when she reached out and asked if my credit card had been charged too and explained the gift. We hadnt thanked her yet. Ive stayed at 5 star hotels across the U.S. and this was my worst experience at one. The lack of hospitality and service was surprising and disappointing. I would not recommend it to anyone. Its not worth the high price.

The Wauwinet is a wonderful Oceanside Inn with a great beach, a gorgeous setting, superb personal service and excellent dining at its 5-star restaurant. I definitely recommend it for your vacation on Nantucket Island.
