Kind of a weird location as you have to drive through a small village of a campground filled with basically mobile homes of mainly residents?.. $5 just to enter and park at the pier. The pier house has an arcade which was great for the kids! My nephew hit a jackpot and won 500 tickets on his very first game. There was nobody there considering it was Labor Day. They have a little gift shop, basic stuff and the price to go out on the pier was a couple bucks per person. There was a handful of fisherman and the view was awesome! My issue was taking a toddler that wanted to run around and not be held. Hooks and knives, with fisherman casting and trying to enjoy peace and quiet was ruined by my toddler. Otherwise the pier would have been a great, enjoyable, relaxing visit for me. We did not fish and just wanted a quick visit experience. Got some great pics, worth the visit for both fisherman and tourists.
Kids had a great time here. They enjoyed peering into the buckets all the people had while fishing to see what everyone was catching. Great views of the beach’s and the city as well. Watching the people at the end of the pier in the King Mackeral fishing area was the best. Seeing everyone pull up the fish was exciting.
This is a great place to go hangout and watch some of the semi-pro to professional anglers. The king fisherman at the end of the pier are intense and it can be a rush to experience. There is a nice arcade inside and the pricing is very reasonable per game. There is a $2/person charge to walk out on the pier which is also reasonable for the length.
Best pier around the area. Caught several fish. They have all you need in the pier store. Theres al package that includes rod rental, bait and access for about 25 bucks. If you have your own stuff its like 10-11 bucks to fish. Lots of fun for the family. We liked fishing in the evening. There was a band playing out on the pier a couple of nights. Good atmosphere with families walking the pier (2 bucks to walk) watching folks fish and everyone having a great time. Parking is 5 bucks a car. If you are fishing you get two dollars off. Parking fee is cash only. Opens at 6am and closes at midnight.
Im usually not a fan of piers but this pier is very well maintained, very sound, so I feel safe and enjoy walking to the end and staying a while. They also provide golf cart shuttle if u prefer to ride. It is the longest pier on the east coast.
Honestly the older lady was flat out rude to my husband and I. Firstly of all you HAVE to wear a mask to buy your tickets to walk the pier (OUTSIDE) which we forgot or didnt know you had to wear a mask to buy tickets. Then we decided to rent fishing poles to fish with and after 2 hours wanted to leave to eat and come back. That same rude lady said that they close at 10, poles are due back at 9 but dont you dare come after 8. The pier is supposed to be open til midnight. So great location, fun fushing but SUPER rude staff. We are on vacation spending our money with this business, youd think that she would be nicer. When we turned in our stuff she wasnt any nice then either.
Love being on the Pier itself. Love sitting under the Pier and watching the fisherman. Used to love the restaurant and store...now they are not so friendly if you are one of the people who cant wear a mask. So, we eat elsewhere and shop elsewhere. The CDC and the executive orders in every state has exceptions for wearing mask and stores should honor that. MaskDO NOT prevent you from getting a virus of any kind. My Mom is a nurse of 42 years, my brother is a doctor, my uncle is a botanist. 12 men in my family are military. Many of them can not wear a face covering at all. It is rediculious how people have been treated.
Looks like a nice pier. Since there was a $2 charge to walk it, we decided not too at the time since it was early and nothing looked open or entertaining at the moment besides all the fishing. Definitely a lot of fishing.
Really nice pier and its really big. Good place to fish. People were actually catching fish here, unlike other piers I have been to. Its kind of hard to find and is in sort of awkward spot to get to. You have to go totally through a camp ground to get to it and parking is limited.
My husband and l retired and moved to SC. We are not yet familiar with too many places but Apache Pier has become our favorite spot to (ha, ha) hang out. I love the atmosphere, the cleanest, the people. Thank You for Apache Pier.
The beach, the pier, souvenir shop, and arcade. Where do you start? Well we started at the beach ️ where we noticed the pier. So why not walk down and check it out. So upon arrival we found out that the price to walk the pier was two dollars. not too bad considering the the high price of things in the area around. Now lets get to the arcade. 81 tokens for twenty dollars. If you love skee ball, then you will love this arcade. Hours of fun are to be had here. Then at the end of the day you get to add up your tickets, and head for the prize counter. If your walking here you dont have to worry about parking, but if you are driving you may want to bring five dollars, as parking at the pier is not free. All in all this a fun little place to spend some time during your stay a Myrtle Beach SC. If your looking for a place to stay while in town we recommend Pelicans Landing within walking distance. Dont forget to check out the souvenir shop and saltwater aquarium underneath the pier before you leave. Overall we rate this place five stars out of five. No major cons at this location remember to wear a mask in 2020.
Compared to other piers around this is our favorite ... It has bathrooms at the half way point on the pier... Croakers has good food for The Price. My daughter loves the arcade... The store has a good supply of fishing supplies and food items and trinkets....
The longest pier on the East Coast. Beautiful view from the end. as you walk along you will see many people along the pier fishing, people are very friendly theyll tell you what they caught and show off their prizes its a good place to go and a beautiful sight to see the ocean is magnificent from the end of the pier have a nice walk inside they have a gift shop with some very nice things its a good place to go
Great to take pictures on or around. My son just asked his girlfriend to marry him and had a photo shoot under and beside the pier. We had a great time.
We just went fishing however the RV park seemed family oriented with kids all around in the kiddy pool, play ground and the pier. Super clean!!! Couls not express this enough especially with all thats going on. The staff were all really nice and very helpful. Will be visiting again!
It was my nephew & I first time pier fishing & we both caught a fish. One gentlemen showed us how to castoff & after that the fish kept eating our bait. Had a really good time
I had a wonderful day at the beach here. There were enough people on the beach that it felt normal (not eerily pandemic empty, in other words), but we had plenty of space to spread out (group of 9). The Sun was out, the air was hot, and the ocean was delightfully warm. I did a little wading, a little shelling, a little sunning, and a lot of watching the kids having fun. The beach is clean and everyone seemed respectful of each other. Best of all, the vast majority of groups and individuals took away ALL their mess when they left. Id recommend this as a great place to have a day at the beach.
The amenities were appealing but you have to pay to park. Pay to walk on the pier. Pay to play in the arcade. Where does it stop. My family would have enjoyed more but were spent $45.00 on parking and playing video games. My kids won tickets and we had to almost beg for them to give us a$1.00 toy. We had 165 tickets and the toy they asked for was 175 tickets. They finally gave it to us. My kids enjoyed the fun but daddy was not that happy.
The pier is a very nice place no problems at all and the staff goes above and beyond my dad is 82 years old and has altztimers and I have copd and the Lynn gave us a ride out to fish and I gave them a call and they picked up and brought us back
Rude women in gift shop. Cut my leg, had blood running down my leg, husband gave me his shirt to use as mask so I could ask where bathroom was (or a napkin/tissue)and they both yelled at me that I needed a mask. But offered to sell me one for a dollar. Are you kidding me!! Guess I could have used that for a bandaid huh.. On another note- I am not paying $2 for a 5 minute stroll on the nothing special pier especially with rude people working the stand
I gave the over all experience 4 stars because the lady that helped us at the store on the pier wasnt to pleasant to deal with. Also when I came back to return the fishing rods that we rented she saw there was a line at the counter and still continued to sit in the office. The kids had fun though!
Finding a parking spot can be a little difficult. Great pier to fish from with reasonable prices. The arcade was fun for the kids. Havent tried the restaurant due to covid but everything else was great
Drove a half hour to check out this pier only to find out its $5 to park. Kind of irritating because I imagined there would be fees to walk the pier also, but paid anyways. Drove through a cute little campground but took a bit to figure out where to park when we finally got through the campground. Saw it costs $5 a person to walk the pier, was very aggravated with that but husband and children insisted we just take the walk. We forgot our masks, no problem, husband went back to get them for us. While waiting for him, another group was denied entry without masks. Ok, I get it. They wouldnt sell one person the bands to walk and even watch them put them on through the glass. Offered them to share the one mask to come in and get bands, yet the woman in the store walked out the store to see what they were going to do. Store lady was rude. Didnt even bother walking with the service and attitude they were giving to would be customers that were willing to pay but was given attitude. Enter at your own risk....By the way, I noticed in reviews from only a month ago the pier price was $2 a person but it has increased to $5 a person now....just to walk. I find that ridiculous when all other piers Ive visit (although not at Myrtle Beach) were $2 a person. Kind of a rip off to me... especially when met with attitude from employees and paying to park. Just offering a heads up.
Love the Apache Pier! Ive been coming since I was a kid and it never disappoints. We even saw some 5-6ft sharks this year!
I love the pier but didnt love the restaurant on the pier. Ordered take out of 2 flounder baskets. Got 1 piece of flounder, about 5 onion rings, small slaw and small tarter sauce and No hushpuppies. Paid $39.00. Was very disappointed. Will never do that again
The pier is amazing! Was also able to get some great photos underneath.
Very nice pier. Lost count of the number of croakers we caught. Staff not so friendly.
Got a catered mealIt was delicious and hot everyone enjoyed . Thanks so much
Apache Pier was great for our little fishing group from a local resort. Not much to do or see in the pier other than a bunch of fishermen reeling in their catch. There is a nice little store, arcade and restaurant at beginning of the pier. It is part of the Apache Family Campground and you have to pay $2.00 to walk out on the pier. Great views of shoreline and good place to try and see some dolphins. Looked like a dance floor and small stage for bands to play at midway point of the pier, however nothing happening on a Thursday morning in April.
Really nice pier. Friendly staff. $5 to park and $2-3 to walk the pier. If youre going to fish, they give you $2 off fishing after you pay to park. They have a restaurant, arcade, bait and tackle etc. Pier is nice, has a covered area for live music. Benches and fresh water sinks for fishing. One of the nicer piers in the area.
This pier is the longest on the east coast and they offer a shuttle down to the end. We didnt camp here but friends have in the past. Overall a clean place to check out, fish, and camp
Great fun, Amazing view and awesome staff there too!
As always ...the pier is a great place to visit.. ..friendly staff...friendly fisherman....best crowd of King fisherman
Loved this place would definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys fishing or just family friendly fun
This is a great pier to spend the day with family. They have clean restrooms, an arcade, bait and tackle available, beach access, and a gift shop. It was the off season, so the grill and ice cream shop was closed. You pay $3 to park as you enter the campground and it was a little tricky to find the parking. $1 to walk the pier and $9.50 to fish.
Great spot to fish. I didnt catch anything but had the opportunity to meet some of the local fisherman & trade stories with them. I had a great time.
Minus having to pay to park and having to pay to walk or fish the pier it was a nice visit
The lady with the short hair at the pier is the rudest person I’ve came across in a long while. I’m an avid fisherman but will never step foot on that pier again. She yelled at a ten year old boy who’d walked a long ways to get there about a mask. Then insinuated we were dirty but she was clean she didn’t know where we’d been. How in the world do we know we’re she’s been she tried to sell me a mask she was holding in her unwashed hands NO THANKS!!!
NICE, ROOMY GIFT SHOP/.ARCADE. DIDNT GO INTO ARCADE PLACE, BUT LOOKED LIKE A PLACE TEENAGERS WOULD ENJOY GOING TO
I have family that lives here and it has always felt like home! Great Campground, friendly staff and the bath houses are kept up with! Been bringing my son here almost his whole life. He learned how to swim in their pool and body surf in the ocean!
Wonderful service. Friendly people. Very welcoming
Great food. Friendly service. Ocean view.
$3 to park in camp grounds. Youve got to drive into the campgrounds to get to the pier. Plus $3 per adult to walk out onto the pier. Good views from out there. Lots of people fishing and friendly.
Longest pier in East coast. Its just so beautiful. The entry is $3 per vehicle for parking and a $1 per person to the pier. Great place for fishing. The time we went they was not much people, so we could relax and enjoy the peaceful ocean sounds and the calmness. There is a play area in the pier entrance. You need to buy tickets to play each one. They seemed a bit costly to me. But just for fun and time pass this place is good.
Fun watching the folks fishing snd saw stingrays and several sharks.Lots of jelly fish that week as well.
Not bad fishing, dont buy anything from rude woman in gift shop. Should not be serving the public.Lost all my families business.
Clean and friendly. Great place to fish or watch locals fish. Awesome watching the king mackeral fishermen. Restaurant next door was great, had the fried catfish sandwich, super fresh! Ordered one, ended up ordering another.
Very nice Pier. I took my youngest son, and his friend and fished from 6:00 AM, till it got to hot to enjoy fishing. Then we went back at night and picked up our rental rods, and fished again until we were to return the gear at 11 PM. They had live music on the pier the evening we were there. They have a good Facebook page showing daily catches. Rod rental prices are a bit expensive, and if you loose your rigging, its a couple of dollars for them to either rerig you, or give you another rod. We didnt catch anything that we could have kept, but others did!
Our first beach side campout. Nice, clean & friendly staff. Pet friendly and well maintained. Reasonable rates.
Wonderful people, quiet, accommodating and next to the beach! Couldnt ask for more!
One of the nicest piers Ive visited. Great views of the coast from the end
The prices that were online were not the same as when we got there. The pier was nice and had a restaurant and game room there. Bathrooms and water fountains were inside and outside. Store there for anything you might need.
Awesome food, great company, The owner is a super nice guy and always willing to go the extra mile to make your dining a pleasure.
Its nice, but a little vacant in September.
So beautiful nice that they keep the beach so trash free loved it definitely will go back...
Pay to park and pay to walk the pier ...no not going to do that but it looks nice
Great place for an evening stroll. We always take one when were here
Great fishing! Everyone friendly and helpful. Rod rentals very good.
Awesome view and a chance to see some amazing marine life. Kids and us seen jellyfish and some sharks. $5 parking as its in a park (though we were treated) and $2 per person over 10 to go onto the pier (10 and under free). Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
My husband always uses this campground and the pier is extremely nice!!! We had a great time visiting. The restaurant is a bit pricey though. My 3 year old son loved it!
Its was nice!! Got to see a couple of sharks and take some cool pictures.
Apache Pier is a great place to fish or just walk to the elevated viewing area at the end of the Pier. Some great pictures during the day or fabulous sunrises over the ocean or sunsets over Myrtle Beach. A must do activity during your vacation.
Brought my family from MN to Myrtle Beach. We had the BEST set-up, right next to the beach. The beach was clean, the staff and other guests were incredibly friendly, and it was an unforgettable adventure!
Cool place to capture photos!
A little pricey to fish but it was nice.
Very nice pier locks a fishing area not much biting this time a year though
Great pier right next to several resorts and a campground. It is a great fishing pier with a cafe, fishing supplies, bait, and more. Great views of the strip, hotels, sand beaches, and water.
Nice fishing spot
Fantastic place to fish.. great prices and great fishing
Arcade is great friendly staff! Pretty big interesting pier!
First they charge you $5 to park at the pier. Ok thats reasonable. But then its a ridiculous maze to find the actually parking lot for the pier. Then once you get there, they charge you an additional $2 per person to actually walk on the pier.
1260 feet of fun! Great to just hang out and watch people fish.
The lady in the shop was so rude and childish, she runs over and locks the door and shakes her head and points to sign on door about masks. We had them just had to put them on. She was just rude. The pier was nice, not alot of people.
Had fun.. everyone friendly. Parking was a challenge.. but doable
So many wonderful memories 34 years started out with stored trailer now since 1906 on permanent site our family continues to build those memories with the grandchildren
Great time!! A little Crowed but found some shells and had a great time swimming
Very cool view. 5 dollars to enter, 2 dollars to walk the pier itself
Nice view, fishing and live music on weekends. Good times
Nice walk on the pier. Cost is $5 to park and $5 per person to enter the pier, so its not a cheap walk on the pier. My 10 year old daughter was free though.
Was very clean and neat place to visit Will Definitely return
Overall clean and good service. For the price I would like to have had cleaner bath houses, and less pot holes in the roads. And no firepits? Whats camping without roasting hotdogs and marshmallows
We had a great time the food at the restaurant was great and people at store friendly was here last year and also when I was a kid
Very Nice place to Fish. It was Very Relaxing
An impressive spot for fun, family and activities and good deals!
Great place to go fishing. Very helpful staff.
Staff are always friendly and fishing is great. Entertainment is always good too!
Great restaurant and staff.
Fun to see the ocean at the end of the peir. And always people fishing from it
Clean park. Nice staff. The sites closest to the water are about 150 ft away.
Very nice, and the food there is great.
The rating is more for the lunch and friendly service at their restaurant Croakers. Its always worth stopping by for a burger while sitting ocean side. I like walking the Pier, there is a $2 charge which I dont mind. I enjoy watching all the fishermen and the view out there is really pretty and peaceful. They also have a little store and arcade.
Nice place to site see
Nice pier. Really helpful staff.
