I really really want to give this place 5 stars. The people there were super friendly to me. Found a way to get me on the course as a single without being behind a bunch of groups. After my round I realized I forgot my speaker in the cart they found it and saved it so I could pick it up. Honest people like that are hard to find now.But on to the actual course. Its very forgiving and open. The greens were in amazing shape and rolled true. However, almost every fairway was swampy. All the bunkers were FULL of water. I lost a ball in a bunker that looked like a pond. Which is a shame because they apparently invested 600k recently between the 3 courses to renovate every bunker. All in all I bet this place is great during a more dry time.

Played a round with my son and it was a great open course with only a few water holes. Number 17 is a island green and it is pure target golf. I lost one and the son lost two in the drink. The staff was awesome. They had a cart gal and there was also a guy handing out ice cold towels on 14. The greens were fast even though there was a lot of rain. The greens were fair though unlike their sister course the Witch (don’t play there). The pro shop and cafe staff were great. The overall layout of the course is fair for even us 15 handicap types. My son and I can’t wait to come back next year and this play this the Wizard again! ( Will try Man O War instead of the Witch )

Great golf course with an excellent layout. Very scenic. Course is par 71 with 6,100 yards from the white tees and plays very forgiving.Greens are always in immaculate shape. Add this one to your list of courses to play in Myrtle beach.

Was disappointed in The Wizard overall. Greens slow, had to crush the ball it was like putting on the 2nd cut. clumps of mowed grass in fairways, greens are not recovering well from being pin punched. Starter said they were going to be busy today. When I got done there was about 18 cars in the lot. I guess he was trying to make sure I kept pace of play. Well being 3rd on the course and the other 2 groups let me play through, I was able to get my round completed in 2:10. Was the only bright spot of the round.

If you are expecting any kind of customer service that you would typically expect to have in a popular vacation destination such as Myrtle Beach DO NOT expect to find that here. I’ve been on golf trips all around the country and this course by far and away is the worst service. The day of we arrive with 20 guys to only have the grill closed, no cart girl, and completely average conditions for the time of year no better than a glorified muni in your hometown. To top it all off we asked for them to have their daily FedEx delivery pick up our clubs when they made a daily drop off to the shop and told us it wasn’t their responsibility when we were already a 500 miles away. What a joke of an operation do yourself a favor and play a par 3 with some drinks under the lights you’ll save yourself a headache and money

This is definitely one of the best tracks in the Myrtle Beach area. If youre looking for a course that isnt impossible but still brings a challenge, this is a great track for you. The views are amazing, there is all kinds of wildlife from herons to bald eagles, definitely a must play if youre in South Carolina!

Fairways and rough were in good shape. Interesting design but they raised the rates to now over $50.00 with tax after 1:00 for Passport users. The greens had been aerated recently and were thus not good. I was disappointed about the greens and didnt think they deserved to raise the price and also would be good to inform folks who reserve tee times before they drop their money to play.

This place surprised me, in a good way. I wasnt expecting too much but the course and layout are much different than a lot of other tree lined courses in the area. Its very open and I was surprised at how dry the course was for all the rain we got a few days ago. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because it is not a (Caledonia, TPC, Dunes Club, etc) but this is definitely a course I will play again.

I was in a group of 12 that each paid $400 for a golf trip there. I will not go back. After we got down there we learned that the greens had been aerated recently. I would hope a decent golf course would try to compensate us or at least apologize for this inconvenience but they didnt even warn us about the greens. Also, several of the tee boxes were unlevel or sloped. The 3rd day we were supposed to have 2 rounds to play but they accused our lead group of slow play and once they finished their 1st round the course expected our groups to give up carts for golfers the course already let pay to play even though there werent any carts open. We were told we would have to wait for more carts to come open. Needless to say we left and went to golf somewhere else. I have golfed on courses all over the country; from New Mexico to Nebraska, to Florida etc. This was by far my worst experience golfing away from home. I dont recommend wasting your money on these golf courses. This course showed that they dont care about your experience, they only care about taking your money. Almost half of our group was current or ex military but that didnt matter to the golf course either.

If you overlook the dark, dingy disrepair of the clubhouse/pro shop/restrooms, etc..the course is actually quite good, challenging and interesting. Greens in very good shape, worth consideration on your Myrtle trip. A decent value for the cost. Facilities just need some $$ and attention.

Course was in great shape and greens were rolling nicely. Only thing I didnt like were a few tee boxes were setup on quite large humps. Other than that customer service was excellent and Ill definitely be playing there again next time Im in Myrtle!

Conditions poor - been super hot, greens are not good, and minimal maintenance on the whole property. Trying to keep greens from dying, maybe 3 on stump and very bumpy.

Played twice over the past week on an annual buddie trip, had a great time and really enjoyed the course. The staff was super friendly and made us feel at home. The course was in great shape, the greens were flawless, rolled true, and are super quick. You start out on a par 5 that can set the tone for the whole day and end on two extremely challenging holes. Overall I would highly recommend.

This was a great course the first couple holes were really nice layout. On the second half of the course like the back nine little on the boring side nothing unique about it. And then you had the last two closing holes with a part 3 and then a par-4 were really really exceptional.

Not good. Played today 6/6 and the greens and course had been aerated and sanded. Things was when we called to make our tee time they said it would be aerated next week. When we paid it was full price and they didn’t mention the aeration. Anywhere else in Myrtle Beach they discount for aerated greens. Balls were bouncing all over the greens and comdition of each green varied. All in all a bad experience. Won’t be back!

Despite Hurricane Matthew coming through a week earlier, the Wizard was in good condition and was fun to play. A swarm of flying insects were all around the practice green, driving range, and made play nearly impossible on #18. When we asked course staff about them, they said they dont bite. Im not sure how long these bugs are around, but you might want to ask when you make a tee time. They are impossible to ignore.

Has the potential to be a great experience. The unfortunate result was the grounds keepers manually watering every green prior to the approach shot. The first couple of times the water hose cart popped up to water was fine but then they started to come from nowhere and in the middle of a tee shot for par 3 holes. Dragging a water hose around the green to water added an extended wait to every hole.

Our group of 22 played the Wizard on Saturday February 15, 2017. We came down from Maryland to find newly aerated greens. Our group leader called a week ahead to check course conditions, and was told the course was in excellent condition. We moved to the Wizard from a course booked earlier because of condition. This is unacceptable. This course is off my list, as well as any course affiliated with it, indefinitely. The club house, restrooms, and bag drop are showing wear. One positive, after slow play backed up the course at the turn, the starter did an excellent job moving our group through at an acceptable pace.

We were told this was an above average course, but there were piles of freshly mown grass all over each fairway and several tee boxes not set up. Weeds everywhere. Also the greens had just been aerated which we were not told. Ive posted several pictures from our day but it was very disappointing. Will not return.

Lol where do I even start? EVERYTHING is in terrible shape. Ugliest and dirtiest course in Myrtle Beach. Greens are so bad and spotty (bent grass, first mistake) all over, not only that but from 12-5 every day for about 6 months straight there are maintenance guys manually watering greens nonstop (why wouldnt you run sprinklers), so expect to be held up by somebody multiple times if you wanna pay less to play in the afternoon. No golfers follow cart path rules, no starter, no ranger, youll be lucky to catch cart girl without a bad attitude. Course superintendent is a huge jerkoff and a raging alcoholic. Expect to be berated by someone so miserable with himself that he has to take it out on everyone under him like the little girl that he is. Basically forgets anything he tells ya too. so if your looking for a job, well, dont look here unless you wanna look forward to doing the same exact thing every single day literally. Expect to be screamed at for no reason, and expect no respect. Back to the course; If you play this course a day or 2 after it rains be ready for huge puddles in the fairways and completely damaged bunkers that havent been worked on in obviously months (goes for manowar too). Giant fields of weeds, barely any playable rough. They cant even cut rough grass the right way. Driving range is never taken car of, and a ridiculous geese/bird problem. Animal poop everywhere, not including the massive humps of grass all over the playing area. Go play myrtle beach national, wild wing, or any founders group international course and never waste your time at the disgraceful dump

I would like to take the time to tell you not to waste your money at, a place where the manager doesnt care about his customers. We had a 9:08 tee time. We where told to go off the back / no one will bother you...14th hole - a twosome - played right up into us.. then 2 more groups of twosomes...The ranger came out (very nice) explained to us ( two 4 somes).... that the groups behind us called an complained... ir we could let them play through.Went it to talk to manager/ he blamed the ranger..What an arrogant, condescending, deceitful person. MysticalGolf should be ashame to have this person representing them .Go over to man-of-war will play The Witch you have a much better time
