My group enjoyed playing Pine Lakes. There are some very good golf holes that can be a challenge to the average golfer. We thought the greens were very good just a little slow.. The service was great from the bag drop area to inside the clubhouse. Pace was surprisingly good also. The course was busy when we played. We difinintely will play again when I am in Myrtle Beach,SC on vacation.

Course is challenging with alot of carry for the ladies. Some great narrow approaches to greens adds to the challenge. Well maintained with friendly pro shop and starters. Restaraunt fare is good with many healthy options but service can be a bit slow. Take some time to enjoy the history of the course and walk through the garden memorial. Beautiful flowers and scenery will give you serenity even if your game doesnt.

Always in Great condition as it was today. The traps require your special attention to get out of and on the greens. Did better today. Well worth the experience of playing The Grand Daddy...the first course at Myrtle Beach. The greens are supurb!!!

I booked my 2021 wedding here and ended up cancelling the wedding due to the passing of my father (who loved this course). Pine Lakes gave me a full refund. I worked with Katie throughout the planning and cancellation of the wedding, and she was absolutely wonderful. Whether a wedding or tee time, the customer service here is top notch.

Good but they didnt have a starter so after a great front nine the turn was stacked 3 groups deep at the 10th tee with people playing tips that probably shouldnt have.. makes for a shot back nine and waiting on every box

Great golf course but the starter harassed us before we even teed off.Il be honest, as soon as he saw my golf bag with a PITT logo, he smarted off about youre not playing up North, so dont even try to read the greens, just putt and pick up. I had to tell him that Ive played the real Grandddy in St. Andrews and jut came back from playing in Ireland.

Fairways are wide and in decent shape but they are way too soft! There is no bounce or roll.Greens are large and in good shape. They are mostly flat except the edges.Overall, it’s an average course. It’s overpriced but it is a country club style course so you have a guy who carries your clubs to the cart, another guy who loads your clubs into the cart and a guy who wipes them down when you finish. Be ready to tip all three. The club house people weren’t welcoming but the guys outside are friendly. Three star course that loses a star over the price. As you’ve read in other reviews, you can’t take your cart to drop your clubs at your car in the parking lot.

I’ve played Myrtlewood Pone Hills and Palmetto a couple times in January plus Myrtle Beach Nation West Nd South and River Club and Willbrook. Pine Lakes had the worst greens, they were the most expensive yet still only 250 points for prime time members. No driving range. Most courses have redid their greens for the better. They seem to think their course doesn’t stink.

Played Saturday November 19, 2019, 12:20 Tee time, took just under FIVE hours to,play . Many long waits as course backs up on number 2 and number 11, both par threes . On number two we were the third group when we got there . All through the front nine waited on every tee., finally seemed to space out on number 9, but when we got to 10 th Tee again we were the third group waiting . Spoke to a Marshall off to the side and was told someone must have stopped for a sandwich ??Played 11, 12, and 13 all with waits on the tee . When we got to the 14th tee we where the FOURTH group on the tee . Walked to the pro shop, no one in sight as now 4:10, found a gentleman in an office to ask just what was going on, was told he would find someone and find out ?? Not sure he ever did !As he was looking out the pro shop window golf carts were coming back in the wrong direction from hole # 14, he asked me what was going on ? Turns out it was other frustrated golfers LEAVING !Played the remaining holes although very aggravating, good news was we played with a nice gentleman named Harry, he stated emphatically that he would never be back .The only reason we got finished was because at least two other groups ahead of us left in frustration. We payed pretty well and had a decent score but it was like playing 9 two hole games 30 minutes apart from one another .Very over rated course, the greens looked great but where very very very slow, do not waist your time playing here as there are so many other good choices, they seem to get enough play that they just don t care !!Overheard one of the cart guys at the end saying there was a group of 24 non golfers who emptied the beverage cart, managed to have her cater to them ( likely good for tips ) .Beautiful weather but a very irritating round of golf . WILL DEFINITELY NEVER GO BACK and will tell every golfer I know not to play here !!Gary Barden

Greens are in terrible shape. We had the first tee time thinking we could play fast. What they don’t tell you is they make you play with others, that’s fine but then they send people off both sides. They insured us we would play a 4 hr round and now we are gonna play 5 hr round of golf. This course is not about the experience but about the money. We hit and wait every single hole. Course is not nice enough to sit and wait. Course does not have any drinking water on it and we have seen the drink cart once. Pay a little extra money and go somewhere else.

This is the 3rd course we have played in myrtle beach this week and we were shocked at the shape of the greens....4 are pitifully patched and most of the others are rough due to the ball marks (although one of the staff said they will grow back in about 3 weeks....lol, not much help to us today). It was also the least challenging and definitely not worth the cost.If you care about the shape of the greens and bunkers (all wet) play somewhere else.

Pine Lakes is a Grand Strand stalwart. The greens were recently aerated thus a little bumpy. A week from now they will be perfect. The rest of the course from tees to greens was excellent. Being a local, I always look forward to playing here (3-4 times/year) and Im never disappointed. Played from the #3 tees, the course was full and the round was 4 1/2 hours.

A gorgeous course that is all too easy to overlook, as its nestled between 17 Bus and Robert Grissom Parkway. With lush, wide-open fairways and fast greens, Pine Lakes soothes you with its beauty even if youre 9 over after your first three holes. The front nine is park-like; the back nine is set against a backdrop of hotels, a very cool reminder that youre at the beach. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They always make us feel like theyre happy to see us.

The fairways were in excellent condition compared to other MB golf properties. Greens putted true, but were very slow. Bargain greens fee for the quality of the course, and the courtesy of the staff. Left my putter somewhere on the front nine(!), but one of the bag guys looked for it and ran it out to me. Couldnt be more appreciative. The cart-girl was always there for us when refreshments were needed. Fast play for a 4.5 hour round.

Teed off at with another pair of amateurs to make a foursome and was asked to leave the course on the 13 th hole for playing too slow and they said they were closing the course even though there was quite a few more hours of daylight. (And other members). Ruined our game and we were on vacation from canada. Asked for money back and was turned down. This is an old boys club and is run by old Scotsmen with no customer service skills. ( especially you tommy). Wouldnt recommend this course and was Im terrible shape to begin with. Would think for a course with so many rules would look after the greens a little better. And not to mention ruts.

Misogyny and patriarchy are alive in the deep south! This course doesnt appear to be welcoming to women. I am a woman who organized a round with four tee times for a mix of men and women golfers. The Scotish man who was in charge of loading bags onto carts and calling us when we needed to get in carts was extremely rude. He called me a bossy woman. There was also no bathroom on the back nine. And the ranger kept approach another female golfer (who was paired with two men) to tell her she was golfing too slow. She was keeping pace with the males and the ranger didnt say a word to them. Also, there were no other women playing the course except for those in our group. Perhaps word has spread that women arent welcome at Pine Lakes.
