Very beautiful little park. There is a nice little trail that walks around the park, as well as a path that goes off into some of the surrounding neighborhoods. The Dog park is nice, however it is mainly large dogs that are in there when I have gone, and they dont have a section segregated for smaller dogs like a lot of dog parks. The river area has plenty of space for fishing, swimming, and kayaking/canoeing. The only downside for Fishing is there doesnt seem to be much fish in this stretch of the river.

The draw for us is the easy safe access to the Cahaba River. It is like a natural splash pad that allows your kids to get as wet as you would like from ankles to full on swimming. Places to sit on the side of the river comfortably and watch. Shallow areas to splash around. You can also just jump right in and swim or float along.

This is a cute little getaway for a walk or a jog! Can swim at own risk and has pic nic tables and small park for kids as well as a dog park

This is a great little dog park. Its clean and safe and has wooded area as well as flat running area. I also like the holding area for attaching and removing the leash.

Very pretty walking trail with various paths to the cahaba river and places to sit and eat. There is also a pretty big dog park!

Great place, so peaceful. When we went people were fishing, people kayaking passed by, teens throwing themselves into the water by a rope. Its a very nice place to hang out and enjoy nature. Kids absolutely loved it, both got in the water and had hours of fun. Plenty of shade provided my tress, enough benches to sit down from a long walk.

Great little park, but it is little.Update (8-18-19): We just visited the new dog park, thankful for it, whoever made that happen, we appreciate it. Only one caveat, the dog park has poison ivy, its not eat up with it but it has some so be advised if your dog runs through it and you pet them, you get it.

Great place to be by the river

I am so glad Mountain Brooke decided to create this area! The cultural mix is amazing. Poor to high income families all use this area, while being kept safe by the Mountain Brooke PD & FD. Also the trash is cleaned up every couple of days. There are areas dedicated to having a picnic or just having a stroll by the river. Dog stations are provided and there is also access to the Piggly Wiggly for food and drink. They have provided stairs to the river, which is very rare for a park by the water. Amazing place! I spend every weekend here.

Its great place to walk, take a lunch break in the shade, a great place just to sit and relax by the river and they just put in an enclosed dog park. A real best kept secret.

My husband takes our two small service dogs to walk here while I have PT at ATI once a week. Very nice area and he and the girls love to walk and relax on the nice walking trails.

Great little river walk! Concrete paths criss-crossing through a wooded area accentes by the relaxing sound of the river. Multiple Benches. Covered pavilion. Swimming hole with rope swings. Great place to take the dog, play fetch, walk, or let em swim!

Its a small park that is super dog friendly. Right on the water, seems like a pretty good place to go swimming in the summer.

Fun little park on the Cahaba river. Walking trail is paved and pretty short. More of a place to sit by the river and hangout. Large gazebo is good for a picnic

Nice LITTLE park. Right next to a very busy road, so there is tons of car noise. The only way to actually walk next to the river is to climb down a muddy embankment and hobble along a narrow steep trail that is only like 40 feet long. Uhh, not much of a river walk if you ask me.
