Great gym. If you are a student I dont know why you wouldnt use it. Their website will tell you what utilities they have but they have pretty much everything youll need for your general work outs: legs, arms, and back. The climbing wall is accessible to everyone but youll need to pay like $10 if you dont have a student id. There is a high wall as well as some great bouldering.

Great place. Very nice and clean, polite people, very informative tour. Our tour guide Cayley was amazing and very helpful.

I have a wellness and src pass here, and the gym and classes are great. Unfortunately, I go after work when attendance is at its peak, so many of the machines and weights are taken. There is a sauna in the locker room, but there is no pool.

This place is heaven! University of Idaho seems to be structured around the idea that a persons inner wild spirit needs to be spoken to. Everything about this university campus tries to do that. One of they key things in this is this totally amazing gym. Great facility. Alot of really good, hi-tech equipment. A great climbing wall.The building itself is built with pine wood which gives it this really great mountainesque feel. Its like youre on a vacation at a mountain resort all year round!Youll be spending alot of time here!

Friendly staff and a plethora of equipment for working out. Free weights, barbell racks, cable machines, etc. There is an indoor rock climbing wall and running track. Fully decked out gym.

I missed my class once because I had lost my VandalCard and they couldnt look me up. Im sure that the technology exists, they should really fix this. Also, I was once using one of the machines upstairs and pieces of it started started falling off because the bolts were loose and now Im too scared to use any of those ones.Otherwise, its a nice facility, although it can be intimidating for people not used to going to the gym!

It’s the year 2019 and you’re telling me that the UI SRC doesn’t have an electronic system to look students up if they mistakenly forget their Vandal ID. As a Washington State undergraduate, the SRC allowed three “strikes” per semester. As a graduate student at California State, the SRC allowed “three strikes” per semester. Now, as a doctoral student at UI if I forget my student ID, the front desk person tells me that I can’t get in without an ID, that I have to buy a $7 pass to get in for the day. UI, we are 20% into the 21st century. Get it together, thanks.

So well maintained with lots of open space. Cant beat the employee and student rates.

Great set of equipment. I dont use it, but the rock wall/tower is very nice. The wellness classes here, or the few Ive been to are good. Just find the right time to go.

I would definitely recommend you go here to get super in shape. Sometimes they dont let me do jumping jacks with sandals in the weight room. I dont understand why its not allowed. The staff is so kind when you ask to set up badminton nets in the gym. I also enjoy using punching bags, but they dont let you use them without gloves for some reason :(

I love the UI Rec Center. Its super clean, everything is kept in optimal condition and the staff is super helpful and welcoming!

Alright place

This gym is awesome.... When its not packed. Sometimes it gets frustrating when theres too many people. Equipment is all new and very well kept though, and the locker rooms are excellent and always clean. Overall a great place to spend time exercising.

The gym is huge and has very friendly staff. They offer classes, rock climbing, intramural sports, and plenty of space to do your own thing.

Everything is awesome except their business times. They close at 6 in the weekends in summer which is suck.

Staff are all Policy pinchers. They seriously are worse than the high school lifeguards at the community pool. Just waaaaiting for the smallest infringement so they can actually feel like their job has a purpose. And in 2017 they try and tell you they don’t have a system for looking you up electronically when you forget your id. Really?

Not enough equipment for the amount of people that go to the rec, but all new equipment and amazing facility. Great for making gains.

Far and away the best gym in town. If youre a student and not taking advantage of this top notch gym for free, you are playing yourself
