WOW what a gorgeous theatre space! Were rehearsing for a show that hasnt opened yet, so my pics dont show the stage, but I think you can still tell how beautiful this historic theatre is. Its updated with high-end lighting and sound and the chairs are pretty comfy, comfy enough to sit through a play anyway! My only complaint is that the bathrooms and lobby are relatively small for such a large theatre.
Great great play! Matilda was a superbly orchestral masterpiece with laughs, drama, and everything in between! Its definitely a family event worth going to and I was honored to be able to witness such talent. Each and every member of the play should be given a gold medal for their works. Thank you Metropolitan Theater, thank you!
Josh Turner was WONDERFUL! Met Theatre is a nice small setting, not a bad seat in the house. Nice to be in downtown Morgantown!
Great place. Seats are really tight together though. Absolutely need more shows like Theory of a Deadman. Fantastic show
The Metropolitan Theatre is an incredible venue, theres a lot of stage space and some really great shows come to perform here. If youre in town you should definitely look into seeing a show here!
The show was beyond excellent and theres not a bad seat in the house.
We saw Home Free here. I originally purchased tickets in the handicapped area in the first row, but they didnt have enough seats for the number of tickets sold in that section. Instead of separating us and putting us in available seats elsewhere, they gave us two of the private side balcony seats. Right up front, but a little bit to the side. We saw just as much, if not more of the concert than we would have in our original seats!
Best place ever very comfortable seating and excellent sound theater
Was very well done. Enjoyed very much
Very cute theatre actually. Only down side is there isnt much space to mingle with fellow theatre goers afterwards. We watched Alice in Wonderland here and it was a beautiful production
Beautiful theater. The balcony seats were great. If youre coming for a kids show (Morgantown Theatre Company), the concessions are limited. Next time, Ill bring a water bottle. I noticed that people went to other local shops during intermission and brought back food/soda not available from the concessions table and I didnt see any signs disallowing outside food/drink.
Classic single screen theater presenting older movies and live performances. Reasonable prices and plenty of parking nearby. Dont go on days there are wvu football games, it can be challenging to find parking. Plenty of restaurants nearby, you can walk.
Wonderful presentation of a classic movie.
No alcohol or beer for sale was a bummer, but the venue was awesome
Beautiful theater but older and could use some updated accommodations. Enjoyed the show
Nice theater! Theory of a Deadman was AWESOME!!!!!!! Hopefully theyll be back again
Beautiful restored details in the buildings interior. Adequate parking in surrounding garages, lots, and street meter spots. Friendly staff/volunteers. Dining and bars nearby.
What a beautiful venue. The classic architecture mixed with the sound quality was fantastic.
Attended Home Free concert at this beautiful venue. There is a two hour parking lot across the street, as well as several other parking options nearby.
This place is cozy amd nice. Comfortable seating and in the heart of downtown MoTown.
Ive seen a variety of concerts and theatre performances at The Met, and I find it to be an often overlooked gem in Morgantown. Sound quality and light production for shows has been high quality, and the theater itself is beautiful, definitely a step back to a more grand time of architecture. Consider that major news outlets have used it, or made preparations to broadcast from the theater, multiple times. Keep their event calendar on your radar and you are likely to find something to suit your taste if you have an interest in live music or acting
Great experience at affordable pricing. The MET is managed by volunteers who take pride in what they do. It is a beautiful piece of local, historical (1924) architecture that has been restored, and made available for the public. I enjoyed watching a documentary movie there yesterday.I also enjoyed watching the Banff film festival several months ago.Parking downtown is a difficult issue for many, but two ways to manage that is to park in the garages and walk to the theatre, OR, to use the parkmobile app, then you can renew from your phone easily, instead of getting a late parking fine.
Small art deco gem in downtown Morgantown WV
Beautiful place great employees
Beautiful! Living history...
Easy to find & close parking facilities
Went here for my first concert and my husband and I saw Spirit Animal and Theory of a Dead Man
Awesome historic venue!
Great place for family entertainment
Beautiful, restored historic theater. We came for a Cadillac Three concert and the sound system was great. There is attached seating and no open-floor general admission area but people were on their feet most of the show. We were in the front row, on the left, so we could stand and get really close to the stage.Security is pretty strict. I had an unopened oatmeal cookie from the Jimmy Johns down the street that they confiscated from me - SUCH contraband! And they dont serve any alcohol which was fairly amusing at a venue for Cadillac Three - a band that uses the word whiskey or beer in pretty much every song theyve written. Here was my conversation with the sweet little grandma taking tickets.Hi! Where is your bar?Our WHAT?Your bar? Where can we get a beer?BEER?!?!? We do NOT serve beer here! There is WATER and Coca Cola at the concession stand!(This was accompanied by a horrified look, as though I grew a second head and both had 666 emblazoned across the top.)All I could do was say Oh! and start to giggle. Im 40 years old. I was a little surprised both by her statement, and her vehement denial of my desire for alcohol. My husband and I had about 45 minutes before the show, so we stepped out, walked directly across the street to a local bar called Gibbys, each had a couple shots of Crown and went back to the Metropolitan, cookie free and with our thirst whetted. The band actually jokingly apologized for the lack of a bar. They were like So, we just gotta say we are sorry...we couldnt believe it when we found out either! Yall just join us across the street after the show...One step ahead of you, Cadillac Three, lol!
Been here for a couple of shows and the staff is great. Very beautiful theatre.
I shoot pool in basement and love it cheap beer and at $6a hour for pool one heck of a deal
Ronnie Milsap was phenomenal at 76.. There needs to more concerts...
Nice old theater, worth checking out.
I performed the wizard of oz here. had a great time.
Granddaughters dance recital was held here.
Neat venue.
Doesn’t seem like there’s a bad seat in the house. Ushers are helpful and kind. No bar.
A quaint and elegant theater. I enjoyed seeing the concert in this small setting.
Beautiful theater, reminds me of The Palace in Greensburg PA
Great Theater!
Great venue for a show its beautiful inside, has great acoustics, and a friendly helpful staff.
Beautiful ...saw Ronnie Milsap there
Beautiful. Staff very helpful.
Extremely well preserved classic theater
Loved it! Comfortable seats!
The theater is wonderful. But Morgantown greed ruins it. Lack of parking. After putting $2.00 in the meter I still got a parking ticket. Morgantown wont get me back. So the theater has the cloud of greed over it.
Our performance was nice, good expierience
Balcony didnt cause a vertigo attack.
Great time. Little Steven
Attended the WVU Medical School White Coat Ceremony March 17 2018. Very nice venue.
Great atmosphere representing the old theatre as it once was in a modern era.
Old school theater, very lovely.
Loved Wizard Of Oz!
Nice, but interior is dated. It was clean. Parking is a huge problem.
Beautiful theater, Great actors, Funny plays. God place to go if you want to have a fun night out.
Was awsome0
Very nice venue with friendly staff. However, they should really think about adding food/drinks into the venue especially for music acts.
Its a nice, little, old theater perfect for theme movies such as mountain film festivals, climbing film festivals etc
Nice venue
The Met was clean and beautiful but the projector went out right before the show started which Im sure was very disappointing for the school performers.
Historic theater in Downtown Morgantown with perfect acoustic qualities from stage without miks.Restored and functioning as a premiere ENTERTAINMENT envue.
Very nice for the recital.
Great venue.
Fun venue. Classic theatre feel, nice crew.
Fun place to check out a local show. Its a downtown Morgantown landmark.
