Omg! This Mountain is insane! It is a serious hike but it was so much fun! Now it is super bloom of California poppy and the mountain sides are so gorgeous! The views are breathtaking ! Just be sure to take water for you and your furry friends)

Heres a rundown of it by a 4-time visitor:How long?A: If youre by yourself the hike will take no longer than maybe 45 minutes to an hour. Going down is maybe half that time. How hard?A: From a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being impossible, I would rate this a 6.8. The beginning and very end will be tough due to steepness, but through most of the hike its a pretty level route, gradually going up.Route:A: The route is clear, one will not get lost if you arent familiar with it. Just follow dirt paths. Along the way there are 3 little areas that are good for resting for a few minutes. There are about 2 trails in the beginning but no worries, it all leads to one trail. And no, out of the 4 times I have been here, I have not seen a single snake on the route. Lots of Lizards and Geckos, though.Preparation:A: Just as any other hike. Lots of water, maybe some sunscreen if youre coming in the summer. I like to bring binoculars, for the view.Overall:Its a very good hike. I have seen many families on this trail. From start to finish, its about a total of 3 hours. A must if you are a local to the Riverside County area. From the peak on a clear day, you can see the entire Moreno Valley, and looking West, most of riverside ( if you have a good eye you can see Sycamore Highlands Park)With binoculars, believe it or not, you can pin point Ramona Expressway, Mission Inn, and, no kidding, on a CLEAR day, Lake Matthews.Questions? Good place for an afternoon hike to watch the sunset. Not many people at all the times Ive went so its nice to be secluded. Hike itself isnt difficult, just steep in certain sections.

Went for a hike with my daughter. We entered from Hidden Springs area to start the trail. It was somewhat difficult and definitely a workout climbing up the steep parts of the mountain. The path is easy to follow going up, but not so clear going down and we found ourselves off the path. We encountered a rattlesnake as we were coming down halfway, it was a very close call. We saw lots of caterpillars, lizards, and bees/ wasps (yikes). Watch your steps and always have first aid kit packed. Pretty shaken up from snakes, wont be going for a while, but thats there home so beware.

Pretty good hike. The M is painted concrete. Its a shame people feel the need to tag rocks though. Save your graffiti art for the inner city please.

The hike to the big M is a great challenging hike. Sure to get your blood flowing and your legs burning. Its about a two hour hike, roundtrip, but is filled with a great view and rewarding finish.Pack water and wear sun protection, as there is virtually no shade the entire hike.

The M is very nice, it takes a long time to hike up here, but its worth it. You get great views of the city and you get to see the M up close. There is a little too much graffiti however and the nearby cell stations seem a little sketchy, but overall its very nice.

Calves will hurt at first but you’ll get over it if your go is to make it to the M, just take small 2 minute breaks if you can’t take the tiredness of your legs.
