Buildings and grounds were pristine. Unable to go inside due to COViD restrictions...but absolutely stunning white buildings.
Visiting Alabama STATE CAPITOL was exciting I enjoyed taking walking around and taking pictures.
Beautiful grounds, but the building is pretty bland as far as capitol buildings go. Only way to see inside it is on a tour. Our guide today, Aroine, was incredible...not just a job to this guy...he knows his history and presented it well. Beautiful arch of state flags with local marble name stones. Dont miss the huge memorial statue.
I was honored to participate in the celebration of Honorable John Lewis life. I will never forget the experience.
Would have been nice if it was open, as tax payers we should be able to tour our states capital.
Beautiful place to visit
Completely free and was a nice place to check out the history of Alabama. The gift shop there was nice but when the lady says she is closed until 2pm she means it so dont be opening that door or youll get in trouble =)
On Sunday, June 26th, I attended the ceremony for the Honorable John Lewis. It was moving to be able to witness him in the State Capitol. God bless you, Sir John. We will never forget the struggle, and we are still keeping our eyes on the prize.
Wow. Great tour on a Saturday! Aroine ran our tour and he was awesome! Very interesting history. A must if you visit Montgomery!
The charm, the beauty, the hustle and bustle, the energy and the simplicity of this amazing white house increments the love I have for Alabama
Enjoying the State and its Capitol.
I was unable to take a tour of the inside. I got there late in the evening and was only there for one day. I immediately went to the area and was able to take these photos. Its a beautiful area with lots of historic buildings.
I frequent the State Capitol Building several times a week, but always enjoy being there and never fail to recognize its historical significance and beauty.
Sorteo distance from each other we visit Tje State Capitol, MLK Jr Church ( we didnt have time for the museum) and Rosa Park MuseumRosa Parks take both tours $7.50 each ot both for $14 per person.MLK Jr. Have tours every hour except 12 for lunch
So far it is the most beautiful State Capitol we have seen in person. Unfortunately we did not have enough time for a tour but did enjoy the outside views
Capital was nice but the city of Atlanta sucks. The people are rude and the streets are a nightmare. Especially around the aquarium.
Great place to visit...Historical Buildings
Amazing site Roll Tide
Enjoyed the view and the information that was shared. Steps away from Dexter Ave Church. It is in walking distance to Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center
Highly recommend this. Hopefully youll be lucky enough to get a tour by Mr. Irby, a historian that actually marched with MLK. We really enjoyed our time with him.
A bunch of history in this building. Really cool place to visit. Excellent tour guide with a wealth of knowledge
Good tours and interesting history.
Great guide, lots of history.
Beautiful capitol, on our Capitol tour we saw history...we stayed in our RV in Selma and drove the same route taken by Matin Luther King in the sixties on the March to Montgomery...after our tour we met this guy..I told him I would put him on FB in our group and he would be famous...he laughed and said I am Christopher Columbus...he had me there..
I loved it because I never been there and it is pretty cool
Very historic and our tour guide was very accommodating and fun. Excellent field trip material.
Amazing tour guide awesome time
It is free to walk in and look around and it is just an amazing example of southern architecture and history
History close to home. Make this trip with your kids.
Field trip with my daughter
Wonderful place to visit and so much history.
Beautiful place
Worst experience with a class field trip by the officers at the capital building. We had this trooper with the little man syndrome grab a special needs child by the arm and made this child walk back up a flight of stairs and come back down because he didnt us the handrail properly. Im sorry but isnt that the responsibility of the teachers and his parent that was present to dow. I will never be ok with a person regardless of there standing or position to put there hands on a child for any reason. Dont get me wrong I understand the importance of doing something safe but after the child was already at the bottom of the stairs safely, to make him do it again seems to be the unsafe thing to do. Great job Alabama Troopers. What a way of keeping our capital safe, by demeaning small children even those with special needs. Needless to say Im very disappointed with the lack of respect we received being the sole reason that any one person there even has a job. Just a small review on how our supposed to be special field trip went.
Apparently a great place for demonstrations, even if the demonstrators kick you out because of a tshirt
Great place with Rich history. The tour guide there is amazing
Rich in history, amazed us.
It is not that good
Such a nice place. Two blocks across the street...not so nice. Stay in the area with the buildings.
Great picture taken site with a lot of family fun making memories.
This is really neat to go through. It would be better with a group and tour guide though.
Very cool building.
If you are in the area stop by and see our Capitol. Its a beautiful building and so much history. The landscape is beautiful around the Capitol so dont forget to walk around and see all the statues and camilla bushes. If you are in the area then stop by and check this place out.
I love this place, the history, and its pretty.
Loved the capitol building and it’s premises.
We loved it. If you like history you should definitely visit this place
It is awesomely good
Beautiful inside staff was helpful.
Nice - quiet. Good self guide.
Great place to learn history of Alabama
Capital tour is excellent
Absolutely disgusted and appalled by the new abortion ruling. I am at a loss of words.
Beautiful view of the town and historic building
Beautiful building, the tour guides were very informative!
It was an honor
Pics I’ve taken while at work in the city of Montgomery.
This is the friendliest capitol I have visited. When we first came to the entrance Treasurer Young Boozer stopped to say hello before we went inside. He gave us a few tips and told us to visit his office for free Alabama lapels. Several staff members inside the Capitol greeted us and invited us into their offices. The Senate and House chambers are no longer used in the capitol but setup as they were the 1800s and 1985 and preserved for public viewing.
Beautiful building
Nice grounds
Officer at entrance was welcoming and friendly. Showed us where to go on a floorplan/map. Walked around and old house and Senate rooms are neat, though not much else to see.
Very pretty building that really showcases the history of Alabama. Pretty nice people that worked there. I would say allow 45 minutes to explore this beautiful gem in montgomery.
Awesome history all over
SWEET home AAAlabama
Closed today, disappointing but the outside amazing
Nice capitol on a hill. Friendly staff.
Beautiful building, we enjoyed our visit
A beautiful building with an incredible history. The Governors office is still here, although the legislature meets at the nearby State House.
Went by on a Sunday afternoon did not go inside, but the grounds and the Capitol building are very pretty and well kept
Beautiful state capitol from 1851 but here is were president of the Confederate States Jefferson Davis was inaugurated in 1861 before Virginia seceded.
Me and my late father visited had a wonderful time with all the history and the way the building was constructed really loved Jefferson Davis statue and what it all meant back in the early days, you can look around and say what happened to it all,, Fred e Watson, JR
Only went outside
Great stop on a tour of historic Montgomery.
