Staff was great. Nice layout and lots of ups and downs. Greens were a little splotchy, but rolled mostly true.
Had a great time. Want to thank Jon for finding my watch and sending to me via mail. Above and beyond and am forever thankful. Excited to go back
I recently had the opportunity to play a round of Golf at Providence Golf Club in Davenport Florida. It had been about 8 years since my previous visit and the thing I remembered most was that, other than the golf course, there wasn’t a whole lot out there. My how things have changed; the community has grown up! Providence is easily accessible to area golfers; they are centrally located: just minutes from I-4 and all of the Orlando area attractions as well as both the Tampa and Orlando airports.Providence Golf Club recently underwent a major renovated in 2018, including 21 redesigned and regrassed Champion G12 ultra dwarf putting surfaces. These greens are getting fantastic reviews. They’ve also updated the practice area and have installed a new tee as well as a short game area designed to help golfers of all skill levels improve their game.Providence’s layout takes the elements of an Old Florida course, and fuses them with those of a heathland course and a parkland course. In other words, it’s a little bit of everything: wetlands, native grasses, manicured fairways and big trees! As you make your way around the layout, you’re bound to see an abundance of Florida wildlife including alligators, otters, cranes, egrets, great blue heron, wild turkey, hawks and snakes.Anyone who’s played golf in the area knows that there are about 30 courses within a 25 mile radius where they can tee it up at. A course in the area can achieve a competitive advantage by offering something a little different. That’s exactly what General Manager Tim Greco and the staff at Providence GC have done by creating a premier practice facility. In addition to the full-length driving range where you can hit every club in your bag. There’s a new comprehensive short game area, practice bunkers and a large practice green.Providence Golf Club is chock full of memorable holes, but there is a trio on each side that really stands out. The back-to-back-to-back par 4s that make up the stretch of holes from Number 5 – 7 features the hardest hole on the course sandwiched between two risk/reward holes. Number 5 is the shortest par 4 on the course at only 281 yards (Blue Tees). Water comes into play about 230 yards off the tee, so you may want to hit something less than driver. Going for the green requires a carry of about 250 over the water or a long, soft draw around it. This hole is especially fun when you put your chip shot in tight and your playing partner chunks his/her shot into the water. Pars aren’t likely to win any skins on this hole!If you’ve got a short game and some guts, you can score well out here; conversely, it can be a disaster! Several holes offer risk reward opportunities that allow you to significantly shorten the hole; that’s where a good short game comes in.After your round – or even before – stop by The Grille Room for your favorite post-round libation or catching the big game on one of 5 TVs. The dining menu is impressive and the food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the hot wings, crisp chicken wing served with just the right amount of heat and accompanied by blue cheese and celery. The Buffalo Chicken Salad is as good to look at as it is to eat and the Providence Signature Burger will not leave you hungry. Providence is a fabulous location to host your next event whether it’s a banquet golf outing or wedding. Their prices are tremendously affordable, the facilities are impressive and the food is outstanding. Two for one dinner is served on Wednesday and Friday features BINGO and typically a packed house.
Very nice facility. Some of the holes are a bit challenging and its well maintained.
Nice staff. Very friendly and accommodating. The course is mediocre... spotty fairways and tee boxes with spotty, slow greens.
Nice course....greens had a few bald spots but good day.
This is a fun golf course to play especially when the greens are good which they are now.. Fun course for both high and low handicappers. The front and back 9 are quite different with some quality golf holes on each 9. Its probably not the golf course where you want to get your handicap established! The slope from the tips (6600 yds) is around 125.
I made the trek to the Providence Golf Club for a charity event but it is a long drive for me so I will rarely play it. It was in very good shape and I enjoyed the layout. The staff was friendly, especially the golf pro. I had a quick breakfast and then enjoyed my round very much. The lunch after round was satisfying.
Nice course. Price is right.
Course is in great shape
My first time out on the course and had a great time. Course was in good shape and enjoyed my round. I will be back to play here again real soon.
Whoever sets these pins everyday has absolutely zero concept of the game of golf. one of the best parts of this club is the 10 to 15 minutes it takes to check out at the register.
I live in The Providence Club Community where this golf course is located. Enough said.
I dont play golf but I come here often as my brother lives in the neighborhood. Got lunch at the clubhouse and its a nice option to have in the neighborhood. Food was pretty good. The golf course greens and the whole area is absolutely gorgeous. If you are golfer definitely come and check it out.
Good enviroment. People are grendly
Goat ranch. Poor customer service ( Rude ). Lived behind course for ten years and always wanted to play. Never going back. I know owners dont care but I can assure the entire town will hear about my experience. Needs more than a good course and homeowners in dated houses to keep customers. Horrible experience.
Nice and easy going. No cart service on the course. Jannet(?) is a peach, but the staff is stretched too thin. The course is nice though
I love this golf course. Its a solid test and in wonderful condition tee to green. The greens definitely take some getting used to as they are extremely firm & fast. I enjoy the differences in the 2 nines. Holes 13-15 are fun to play and a good opportunity to nab a few pars. 17 & 18 are both tough finishing holes. The staff is always gracious & kind
Nice golf course, we had a great time.
Always nice folks. Good course for the value. Don’t expect country club conditions but it’s worth the money. Has some challenging holes as well.
Beautiful course and super helpful staff. I look forward to working with them again to host other tournaments for us.
The staff was very disrespectful and belittled me. One of the people was a young male abt in his 30s and the other was a 20 year old. I think his name was Brandon. I am disappointed.
$20 twilight rate is a great deal.
Love this place my daughter works here
Enjoyed the day staff friendly and helpful.
Course was in decent shape. There were some rough spots on the greens. The fairways were in great shape and the rough is challenging.
Really nice lay out, nicely manicured, very long and challenging course! The young man who greeted us outside with the carts made it even better, he displayed quality customer service. The male friend I played with is a good golfer and can hit the ball long and straight, so he was able to stand up to the challenge. As a lady golfer, going through some golf changes, it was a little tough for me, but I appreciated the work out and felt very proud of how I played. I even met a lady who was playing in front of us and later introduced herself, she said we are looking for more lady golfers to play with, maybe you can join us. That was so sweet! The only problem is that it is very far away for me, like an hour and a half! But it was worth it and we will play again. Thank you for a good time!
Very good value. Nice layout. Greens were very fast and hard to read, looked like a fresh hydroseeding. No drivers allowed on the range. Overall, Id recommend.
A very nice course. Open and forgiving. I cant wait to go play, again
Nice track.
Well kept greens.
Well maintained course & professional staff, always on point.
Nice course, not too challenging for good golfers.
High quality course at a low price! Greens a fast and fairways are smooth! Plenty of hazards too!!
Good course with fair prices. We enjoyed it.
The course is normally in good shape but the cart paths are TERRIBLE! Bring a back brace so you dont injure yourself with all of the bumps and holes along the way.
Course is in great shape will play there again
Great course....greens are very quick stay below the hole ALWAYS
Beautiful course and great front staff. Im not much of a golfer but go anyway whenever I can until it gets too hot for me.
