My coworkers and I found this place while traveling for work..we now go here any chance we can! Never had such amazing food, the owner is the sweetest and you’re surrounded by beautiful art. I’d move in if I could. Gave it 5 stars cause that’s the max. Needs a million!

So heres the thing... this was my first time coming into the restaurant and have always been nervous to try their food. I was offered a sample of their tomato pesto soup and was so taken with the flavor that I completely forgot to take pictures of the food! You guys have gotta try their food. I ordered the Pablo Picasso (Turkey, bacon, tomato on ciabatta). It was absolutely delicious.

The concept of a gourmet sandwich is definitely a good one however what often happens is the proprietor becomes lazy in the construction of the sandwich. This was our experience at Picassos. 4 sandwiches for $46 should equal something beyond the pedestrian style which exists across the street in the form of a Subway. Just one example is my wifes sandwich, all the meat was bunched up in the middle, an old trick to make it look loaded when sliced, not really fooling any body as one must disassemble the sandwich to spread the meat out evenly. All the sandwiches had inadequate sauces so the bread was dry with little added flavor. If they dont return to fulfilling their original concept folks will simply walk across the street and get something slightly customizable for half the money.

Really amazing place with great owner. The sandwiches are all so good and different and the pesti pasta is fantastic. Love the creativity with the sandwich names and the art that is put up. The owners seems super passionate about good food and better art.

The staff at Picasso are the best! So sweet! They make you feel like family while they fill your soul with happiness and fill your tummy with some seriously amazing meals!!! So good! They also deliver for company functions. Love this place! Did I mention the art?! Fun!

My bestie and I visited today for lunch and what an excellent decision. The owner is a lovely man that seated us in the outdoor patio and served us the tastiest meals! This was my first visit of many to come! Food was delicious, service was wonderful!

Came by here on a whim was not disappointed! The owner seems like an amazing guy, treats his customers with lots of respect and you can tell he pours his soul into his sandwiches and they taste just like it! 10/10 all day.

Fantastic!!!!! This is what I miss about the bay area .....someone that take time and picks the right item to make a sandwich.... just a beautiful place to eat at ..... dont do fastfoods any more pay the extra 3$ on a work of art for your mouth :) thank you for the food .... I will come again :)

A wonderful variety of gourmet sandwiches and soups. Fantastic people running the shop. My favorite is the tomato pesto soup with any of their sandwiches. Great to dip in and enjoy!

I love, love, love this place! This small, artesian-style sandwich shop is the best. My favorite is the Venus de Milo (ham, Turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato pesto); the sun-dried tomato pesto is amazing. I also love the different homemade soups that are available. This is one of the best locally-owned shops in Modesto.

This is a wonderful place you want to enjoy your meal with friends and family not only the delicious meals but the genuine Workers .. their so clean, fresh and neat who cares about their customers needs.

If you enjoy delicious food and friendly service you will love this place.Check out the art collection and outdoor patio.They were also the only place open and serve many organic, vegan options and are happy to accommodate your preferences.I will be back tomorrow.

Everyone was polite and helpful. The food is excellent. This restaurant serves sandwiches, soups, and salad. I highly recommend the pesto pasta salad. The sandwiches are named for famous artists. I had a Renoir sandwich and it quite tasty.

I tried this place for the first time today with my spouse. Let me just say... I was truly blown away .....with this entire experience. Yes... it’s an experience, and definitely one that every local should try! This is now a top 10 of my favorite places to go in my town. The beautiful eclectic art on the walls in this artsy bistro place doesn’t stop there, it literally flows into the food as well.... AMAZING FOOD. I had the roast beef and a tomato bisque soup with little pesto sauce leaves that looked painted in my soup, down to the details they looked like floating little leaves. It was gorgeous!!! I sat there in silence savoring every bite, truly amazed by the simplicity and explosion of flavors that I tasted that were enhanced by the homemade croutons that had great texture and flavor. I wish I had thought to take a pic to share with all my fellow Modestrians but I think I will go back on Monday to do this same dish. That was just the soup and I will stop there cause I can go on and on about the SANDWICH!!! BEST EVER

The one place I didn’t check the rating before stopping in and by far the best food I had during my stay. Even my chai tea latte was delicious. I wish I would have found this place on my first day in Modesto.

This fun deli offers an intriguing menu of sandwiches, salads and soups; all named for famous artists. I had The Renoir, a delightful tower of sliced turkey, cranberry sauce, and blue cheese on ciabatta bread. A cup of tomato basil bisque shared the plate.

Picassos is by far my favorite place for a lunch. The atmosphere there is so welcoming that it perfectly compliments the food. The menu is appealing to all who enjoy sandwiches and even those who would only want a fresh beautiful salad. The only downside that I can say about this place is that they dont have their wonderful chicken tortilla soup everyday! If you have a chance and happen to be even close to downtown Modesto, you have to go by this amazing place.

We came for Patiofest and decided too come here for dinner. Too bad they didnt turn on the music inside so we could hear the live band outside better. The sandwiches and pesto pasta were quite good.
