Very cool place to learn about the Scandinavians. It took me to a whole new place, and is a great place to take some pictures. It is nice, clean, and very well kept. It also has some picnic tables so you can sit and enjoy lunch in the shade.

We stopped by on a road trip in late June 2019, taking the short cut from Eastern Canada to Saskatchewan. Id heard about the giant Dala horse and since I had a tiny Dala horse I really loved as a child I wanted to see the big one!We were in a really big rush and didnt know there was a whole park to see so we only did a very quick tour through, but it was awesome! The church was completely amazing. I wish wed had more time to stop-- hopefully well be back that way sometime!

I absolutely love this place. You need to visit this place in July when all the walkways are filled with flowers. Its a stunning park. Its great if you want to walk the paths enjoying the weather, or a place to have lunch on many of the tables scattered around, or just hang out in general. One of Minots best places to be.

Wonderful, unique place to learn about the cultures of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland. We recently visited there with my husbands parents and our children. Its so fun to look for trolls, and our youngest enjoyed roleplaying the Three Billy Goats Gruff across the bridges! I love the natural wood smell inside the Gol Stave Church - and the carvings are intricate and beautiful. Its a very peaceful place, and the volunteers Ive met there have been very friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favorite statues is the one of Hans Christian Andersen. You can see some hints of his stories in the statue, like a duckling and a pair of scissors. Sometimes the sauna door is open so you can see the sunlight streaming through the beautiful stained glass windows. Dont forget to check out the Heritage House a short walk down the road from the cabin - I overlooked it the first time I visited the park. The gift shop area is fairly small, and doubles as the Visitors Center for Minot, but there is still a great variety of trinkets, t-shirts, gifts, books, and treats. Definitely check out the toffee chocolate bar from Iceland; its one of the most expensive chocolate bars Ive ever bought, but soooooo very worth it! (Actually, dont - if theres more demand the price will go up and Ill only be able to get it at Christmas!)

Visited the park in the bitter cold, hopefully we can one day come back and stay longer when some buildings are open too. I was disappointed that the gift store was closed, there had been posts about the gift store over the winter, but the door was closed and had a sign saying closed October to May :(

The Scandinavian Heritage Park is wonderful for both adults and children. The area is well kept and all around beautiful. There are many great stories and historical facts around the park as well. Lovely place for pictures and the entrance fee is very reasonable. The gift shop is a little small but still has a solid selection.

This was a beautiful place to spend an afternoon as we are visiting in North Dakota. If I were a resident of Minot, I would come back often to enjoy the peaceful grounds or maybe a little picnic at one of the shelters.

We expected to make this a quick stop on our way out west, not knowing that we be captivated by the architecture of buildings, the stories told by the staff, and the gorgeous outdoor spaces. What a fantastic representation of the Scandinavian culture. My teens also enjoyed our time here, especially the Dala Horse. If you are in the Minot area, take the time to stop by and visit this park. Whether you take a few minutes - or the hour+ we ended up staying - youll have a wonderful time!

Maybe I chose the wrong time of year to come visit? I visited in early May and came from California to visit family in the Minneapolis but I drove out all this way to see this place only to find out the church wasn’t even open. Regardless, it is beautifully constructed and took many pictures to make the most of my visit. It seemed there is also a fountain or a pond that is not in use.

Small park in the middle of Minot. Several cool bronze statues and wooden buildings to see, along with a big center/gift shop. Place is kind of run down and not well maintained, but a nice place to stop for awhile. The Nordic church looked very interesting, but was not open when I went.
