Awesome park. Tons of little offshoot trails to explore. Beautiful rolling grasslands. Perfect size, walking around it probably takes 30 minutes.
Great place to walk, couples, families, friends or by yourself. Usually see a few pets. Wide trails, a mix of gravel and pavement. Restrooms, picnic tables.
We met a group of family members for a social distancing outdoor chat. There was plenty of parking in lots and along the streets. Many people on the trails were wearing masks. We were able to locate a single picnic table and put down some blankets nearby. We had no problem staying away from others as well as spreading out from each other. Mosquitoes were around but not as bad as we expected. We brought our dogs to socialize and noticed dog waste bags were easy to locate. The park is beautiful!
So pretty! I wish there was an off leash area.
Beautiful park and trails. However the off-leash/leashed areas are not clearly stated and not enforced. I was not aware this was a dog park...or at least people treat the whole park as such, many owners do not have control or recall and act upset and offended when another person isnt happy to have a strange dog run and jump all over them and their leashed dog. Many aggressive encounters recently with unleashed dogs unfortunately while I am walking on the paved path thats is supposed to be leashed animals only. For this reason I will not be visiting any longer and going to more safely enforced walking paths such as Lake Harriet. Boundaries and enforcement are needed here.
Gorgeous place for a late fall walk in the park.
I have lots of great memories growing up near this park and walking the trails. Recently however it seems that people have taken to believe that its actually an off leash dog park and youre inconveniencing them by not wanting a random dog in your space? While dogs are allowed off leash in the areas not maintained by the city (i.e. the middle part) the most important section of the statute seems to be forgotten or ignored, that dogs must be controlled and recalled upon command. Your dog (yes yours too) probably is a great dog, would never hurt anyone. But a random dog popping out of the woods is never a welcome sight. We live in a society with rules. At least pretend like you share this space with other people.
This place is good for walks if it’s near by
Awesome park in all seasons. Easier to walk by the creek in all season but summer bc it gets very overgrown.
Great trail. Fairly flat and easy trail to walk. It’s a nice loop around with lots of trees.
Loved being outside quite popular i go there often
This park is pretty large and has a well maintained prairie and wooded area to walk around and view wildlife. This is a great place to see birds and native pollinators.
Amazing place for you, your family, dog, etc
Beautiful park with great maintained trail system. Also has some back unpaved unmaintained trails if you want to get into the thick of it. My dog had the time of her life here. Definitely plan on coming back every season to see how the scenery changes.
Beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature without having to drive up north. Even the people you meet along the way are nice and courteous.
Nice little trail of easy hiking or walking
Stunning hidden Gem
Cool park lots of trails
Me and my Newfy Monti enjoyed the trails and nice scenery of the area. Thank you Mn for taking care of this park. Respectfully Joe
Very peaceful local park. Great walking area and picnic spot. A hidden gem
Great off-leash area for dogs
Great trails and areas to explore
Great spot to take the dog for a walk.
Quiet, scenic, paved trails good for strollers, biking
Great place to let the dog run & friendly people.
Great place for outdoor field trips! I’ve been on a field trip there twice
This is a great park to hike around. Theres always people walking dogs in it
Nice trails and a great place to walk your dog.
One of our favorites!
Great park for a walk.
Fun trails. Always clean. Great park to take you dog on walks to meet other dogs.
Beautiful trails! Enjoyable in any weather.Love the off path trails:)
Fortunate to live near this great walking park. Kudos to the minnetonka parks and rec.
Wonderful walking paths surrounding an open natural wetland area with forests and creek running through. We used to see red fox, mink, owls and raptors, but heavy dog use including illegal off-leash has scared them away; many dont pick up after pets. Beautiful native wildflowers, shrubs and trees can still be found.
Great park in the rough. Excellent place for a picknick. Bring a wildflower identification book.
Nice park for a short hike and picnic. Most dogs that we met on the paths were not on leases but didnt have any problems. Would definitely go back again.
Great park with many trails. Great for walking, biking, taking dogs, hanging out!
Was a nice loop hike, a couple hills but nothing too intense.
Beautiful park with many trails. Great for walking, biking, taking dogs, hanging out, etc
Great park with plenty of trails to walk in nature.
Great place
Amazing park with biking and walking trails
Great place to walk with several trails. Dog park is the main attraction and the reason I go. However, the leash/no leash boundary isnt clear and its enforced with stiff fines.
Great park, trails with benches and free binocular station to watch wildlife in marshes.
Hidden gem of a park, great walking trail, better dog walking, and pavilions to boot.
Sat and watched others interact, all ages, a rainbow formed while I was there. Good place for checking out dating app while observing already matched individuals. I was comfortable.
Beautiful park and trails.
Quite clean no problems
Its a great place to bring dogs because they can go off leash once you get into the park, although there are some rules and regulations about that that are somewhat unclear. Dogs can play with each other and run around which is awesome. The only thing to watch out for is ice on the paths in the winter and ticks and poison ivy in the summer.
Hard to find. Like to go back
Great place to bring the family.
Nice, small local park with bike trails, hiking trails and plentiful space for dogs to play. Any day or time I go there is always a mix of people enjoying the park. They also have picnic benches, toilet facilities and an area to BBQ.
Nice quiet trails love it
Great place to go for a walk or bike or just to hangout.
It seems like a nice place to live! I just havent decided where I wanna live in the upcoming fall!
Very beautiful place to walk. Lots of wildlife. Love that the kids at scenic heights gets access to the first and prairie for educational purposes.
I don’t like the people letting their dogs running around unleashed, and they act as if all the other people should be delighted that their dogs are jumping on them. Very annoying. Not such a big park. Good for running. About 1 - 1.2 miles per round.
Well groomed, plenty of areas to explore and clean
Great trails around the lake for walking/running/biking. Nice picnic area to take the family.
Great place to take your dog off leash and feel as though your in the country.
Large park with many miles of trails.
Wonderful nature and easy parking
Super nice scenery
Great park!
Fun place to walk, see nature. A little oasis in what is otherwise suburban wasteland. Great location to take the kids Pokemon hunting!
Great place for a walk with the dog.
Long beautiful trails with plenty of nature in between perfect in every way!
Very nice park. Short loop for walking.
Very nice off leash dog park.Wear sturdy footwear!
Great place to exercise.
This is a great park
Really like this park. I like taking my dog to different parks where we can take nice walks with him leashed. Apparently this is a off leash park which really surprised me and my dog is not great with other dogs. I did not enjoy this at all and probably wont go back. People were rude when I would ask them to call there off leash dog away from mine, again who was leashed. As well as half the dogs seemed to be ignoring their owner.
Many paths off the beaten path. People do unleash their dogs however.
It wasnt terrible
Had a blast getting lost but it was my own fault as I didnt stay on well marked paths, took the dirt trails!
Love this park..great walk, dogs love to run free and play in the middle..a favorite!
Great place to walk
Classy park with great trails, greenery, and even a little history. The place is an oasis of nature in the midst of suburbia.
Beautiful walking trail
Fabulous trail system for both people and dogs! I go here frequently with my dog!
One of our favorite places to go for a casual walk
Great place for a date or to let your dog run around
A gem of a park, beautiful park a good park for a walk and animal watching
This park is great for jogging or walking your dog. There are a few picnic tables and a covered area at the main entrance.
Off leash park!! Must love dogs bc they love you!
A fine park, lots of walking spaces with woods and grasslands.
Large suburban park with forest and restored prairie. However, it also has a large dog park, so its not very conducive for bird and wildlife watching.
Well kept and nice trails.
The vast majority of this park is devoted to nice walking trails including a few unimproved trails where well behaved dogs are allowed to walk off leash under vocal commands. I will come here again.
Love it!! Both I and my dog!
Super nice trails very well maintained place too walk.
Cool park with lots of walking trails.
Great place for people and dogs !
Its a nice quiet place for a walk. There are also picnic facilities.
