Was looking for a place for our kids to burn off some energy and be entertained. We Googled a few places - this one had mixed reviews. We didnt order anything to eat so I cant review that. We will definitely come here again. Cant believe we havent heard of this place. We have 3 teenagers and they all had a blast. They did pretty much everything that they had to offer. Staff were nice and friendly. We were there for hours and we got a day pass - so worth it!! Highly recommend!
We practically had the place to ourselves Friday night. Great experience! We did hope to do the ropes course, but they were short staff and unable to get someone to help us before close. Matt was the employee who provided a great experience apologizing and giving us a credit to use for a future visit. Overall a great experience with staff who cares!
Honestly I wasnt sure what to expect while visiting during the pandemic but I had my little brother in town and needed somewhere to take him. I was pleasantly suprised. They sanitized everything in between guests and had good procedures in place for the guest to follow. There werent many people on a Sunday afternoon and there also werent many workers so we did have to find someone usually to help us at each of the attractions, however, that wasnt hard to do. Some of the attractions had small issues such as laser tag in which one teams points did not count and showed zero at the end of the game. Everyone was friendly and attentive and I recommend visiting whether during a pandemic or not.
Love this location for a fun afternoon for my 9 year old. Theyve pivoted effectively during all the COVID-19 regulations, and I feel like this is a safe and clean facility. They are diligent about masks, both staff and participants when indoors, and provide regular cleaning, wear gloves, etc. They also restrict attendance numbers to encourage social distancing. Nice work!!! Prices are still reasonable, even though they have to cap their capacity. I also think the inclusions are wonderful---one price and you get access to EVERYTHING! Please dont change this---its so wonderful not to feel nickle-and-dimed to death. The only thing you pay extra for is your game card, which is fine. Theres enough other activities to keep the kiddos busy without excessive gaming.
Great time! Free appetizer special on Thursday night with purchase of points.Ax throwing was fun, good instruction and made it really fun.Games were standard arcade fair, but a few new ones i havent seen before that were fun.No paper tickets, points loaded back to the card and can be redeemed.Food for all ages. Alcohol served for adults if you need to relax with all the noise or loosen up to show off throwing an ax.
CLOSED FOR GOOD, DONT COME HERE! THEY JUST DIDNT UPDATE THE WEBSITE! BE WARNED, IT IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!
I absolutely loved this place! We were there with a group party, so I didn’t get to everything I wanted, but 10/10 will be back. The axe throwing was awesome and it was very easy to get the hang of, the games were great, the staff was super fun and the space is huge - it’s like a better Dave & Busters.Would definitely recommend to anyone of all ages.
Our night was made by Jeremy, a staff member who went above and beyond to make sure our experience was awesome. It seems like theyve really put a system in place to ensure the safest play setting during this COVID period and with employees like Jeremy, we will definitely be back again soon.
Every staff member here was amazing! They were very friendly! Thanks for the amazing customer service!
Super fun! My kids loved it here and the outside activities where so much fun and the staff was nice.
We booked a Fun Package party on a Saturday evening. The party exceeded expectations! The hosted party is seriously the way to go. I had to save money for this party but it was totally worth it! Evan, our party host, was amazing with the kids. He led all the activities and kept the kids inline. He was super friendly. The amount of food was plenty for a party of 10. We chose the laser tag and ropes course part of our package. The kids had a blast. We liked the private party room, it was clean and quiet. This was is the last year my son gets a BIG birthday party and Im so glad we chose Big Thrill!
The axe throwing was booked all day after they told us it would only be for an hour, the bumper cars were dead so we barely moved, we couldnt get into bowling, staff didnt seem like they wanted to work, the time challenge game had broken lights so it didnt keep score correctly. On a good note, The food was great! After we waited FOREVER for.
The kids area was great. My girls loved that even more than any of the games! (Three years old) The food was reasonably priced for this type of place (8 bucks for a 10 inch cheese pizza, 6 for a burger and fries)
Fun you can get a exercise running around with the kids probably dropped a couple of calories in those 2 hours would definitely recommend prices are fair as well...
We had a group of 7 adults (21 and older) for axe throwing, I didnt realize how kid oriented it was, they only have 2 throwing lanes as well which was okay for us, but pretty small. Not the place I would go back to when wanting to drink and throw axes. 2 pitchers of beer was $35.00!!!! The staff however, was wonderful! I cant say anything bad about them, we had Noah and Molly and both were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for younger kids or parents and young kids, but if your 21 and up wanting to throw axes and socially drink, I would go elsewhere.
My grandchildren had a great time at Big Thrill Factory. A lot of fun games, virtual reality, bowling, bumper cars, laser tag, kids play area...prices are pretty reasonable...virtual reality game is 20 points (I thought that was alot). Id go back again.
Great location for family fun. I also had a birthday party here for my daughter and it was a blast! I recommend doing parties here in the summer when you can experience all of the attractions (indoors and outdoors)!
We spent over $300 at this place as a family of five. It wasn’t overly busy and despite having all the all attraction wristbands, not all the events were even open, not staffed to handle the small amount of patrons. We waited over an hour for food. I am overall, not super impressed and could have found a better way to spend my money.
It was a lot of fun the groupon was totally worth it! They stayed close by when doing the attractions so we didnt have to keep looking for them. The axis throwing was AWESOME !! Staff was curious and personable. They laughed !!! If it was closer wed being going there all the time!
The kids love this place and it can be a fun date for adults too...if you like video games & mini golf. I recommend going during the week. They have food and alcohol also. Its good but overpriced.
Very nice place for families and friends really enjoyed myself and my family!!
Super fun place for the kids! Mine had a blast! Will definitely go back! WAY BETTER than chucky cheese... Ill only take my kids here from now on!
This pace is understaffed, and overpriced. We had to wait at least ten minutes at the prize counter and when we got to the rope course there was no one to help us at first; once somebody finally came help us, they said the girl who ran the ropes course was on break... finally about ten minutes later a different staff member was able to assist us after I demanded customer service. I also think that when my son signed up for the unlimited axe throwing, the front desk lady should have asked my sons age because once we got to the axe throwing booth they asked my sons age and he is almost eleven... they denied him admission and they broke his heart. I never wanna go back to this place and I hope they can get better staffed in the future.
This place is amazing. My three kids of all ages love it. Also all my adult family members I have brought. Its amazing because there are many things to do and for all ages. Great for kids birthday parties. I always try and go when groupon has a coupon makes it way cheaper. Love love love this place we go at least one time a month if not more
Our first time there, we went for the Elvis show starting Chris Olson..he was fantastic. Ive seen numerous Elvis tribute artists and he had the best voice by far. He was spot on with voice, movements and was very funny and friendly, taking pictures with everybody. Its an intimate setting with pretty decent acoustics and I hope they have him back again.
So much for the kids to do. They are kept busy for hours and satisfies the older as well as the younger kids. They did the bowling, laser tag and rope course over and over, plus the XD movies. The younger 2 were having a blast in the w level playground with the nerd ball cannons, etc.
Feel the exceptionally large thrills enjoy the outdoor bouncy thing play laser tag while trying not to run and then eventually running anyway because everyone else is running which is when you realize theres a second level and run straight into a teenager you dont actually know and have a really awkward moment. Also exceptionally large Thrills...
Brought our 4 kids (all under age 11) on New Years Eve for the afternoon and evening. Had a blast as their is so much to do (even with the outdoor activities being closed until spring). Our favorites included lazer tag and the bumper cars. Staff was involved with all the activities and interacted with each kid. Will definitely be returning.
Evan and his crew did a great job of keeping my 10 rowdy party goers moving from one activity to the next and they had a great time!! 2 hours was over before we knew it but it was so much fun. Highly recommend for a kids bday party!
First time coming here, good fun for the kid and us. Staff is nice and easy to find... Con: It’s 8pm all the tables are covered with left over pop, beer, and food. We had to eat in the bowling area to find a clean table. Someone needs to keep a wash cloth moving, should never ever make the paying public ask “ can you clean a table....
This place is more expensive then daveandbusters and chuckecheese. Plus the only thing my son wanted to do wasnt working. Also not as many games as Dave and busters and I usually always have a coupon for Dave and buster but rarely see coupons for game play at big thrill
Waiting for the staff to come at every attraction by pressing the button. My kids got yelled at almost in every attraction. The way they ask you to put on harness is by yelling! The WORST place to visit especially with kids. Thought my kids will have fun in the winter break but it was a wrong decision to choose this place to have fun.
Lazer tag is amazing. Arcade is great. Bowling was good. Zombies were dumb. Food was not good. People were great!
The kids love it. Easy for hours and hours to go by because they were having so much fun! Got a coupon for bogo all day passes, totally worth it!
Brought a few kids and had a great time. Staff was helpful, and even though the kitchen was closing down, the staff got us a few dessert items to round out the evening. Fun games and good arcade treats.
Not much bang for your buck. Lots of kids with no manners and no respect for others. The bowling was great. The 3D ride was fun. The bumper cars was good for the family. Other than that it was mediocre. No matter what, we could not enjoy the other areas.
I must say,I am genuinely happy, literally sitting here smiling at your staff. I applaud these young teens who look to be sincerely enjoying their job. They play with the kids and keep them entertained. Some places you go, the staff are not friendly with kids but these guys go above and beyond. Way to go!!
If you come here, just make sure you know what your kid wants to do and no his or her personality well if she is likely to change her mind. There is a deal where you can get to different attractions for $20. My kid added on the play place because thats where all the action really is, just like it any McDonalds play place. He wanted to use additional services (theres an all day pass for $40-50 depending if you add more), but he enjoyed playing laser tag and jumping on the trampoline that wasnt broken.
Very fun. Games are kind of expensive but all arcade ticket games are. Great pizza. Awesome staff. I love taking my lil girl here. We go every chance we can.
I do not recommend this place. Worst experience I have ever had in the twin cities. Needed to ask three times before being able to play bowling. They had a height restriction for rope course but the staff didnt bother to ask for a chaperone for my kid who is not tall enough although I was next to him. I spotted him struggling and stuck on the rope course and asked for help. The way they talk is so loud and unprofessional. I did not expect this kind of staff especially in a kids activity place and so called fun place. Its my first time and is going to be theast time.
We decided to take the kids out and do something and this is where we ended up Friday night and than all afternoon into evening of Saturday. Dont like that there is no special with the attractions and food.
Do not come here on a Saturday. Bought a groupon but it was a total waste. Lines for everything were super long. Was not worth the wait to wait 30 plus minutes for rides. Eventually just left. Total waste of the Groupon. If it wasn’t so busy it could have been fun.
One if our favorite places for a family night out.Good food too. We always order a burger, the cheese bread, and corn dogs for the kids. Its always enough food.
Very disappointed. We came on a company outing and the customer service was the worst I have ever seen. I’ve been working in customer service my whole life and I couldn’t believe it. We came in just after a school field trip. The lady that checked us in was wonderful and sweet and it went down hill from there. The kids left, and we all ordered drinks and cotton candy. I ordered my cotton candy and I waited and waited while the staff mingled and had their conversations and then their manager yelled “Can you get her cotton candy!”. Instead of coming and getting it done, they continued to talk until they felt like it. Two of my employees ordered their cotton candy and I waited patiently. He decided to make theirs first and then decided to make mine. Then once we got to our table the lady testing out the bumper cars decided to mean-mug us as she walked by... very snotty attitude. The laser tag employee in charge was nice, but needs to stay out of the games. (When your a pro it ruins the tallys) uneven or not it’s best just to watch. The throwing ax employee did great, but it felt like after the rest of the experience I was disappointed and so were several of my employees. It felt like we were always waiting and the customer service care wasn’t there. I hope for these negative reviews you can come together as a team. We all have our good days and our bad, but at the end of the day, no matter who we are or where we are from, it’s about the teamwork we can bring to a job and the experiences we make for our customers. My team of employees may/ will probably not be back from our experience, but we hope you guys can get together and bring your customer service/ team to it’s potential. It’s the customers who come to see the staff and the service they expect. This may be your first job or your career, but it’s aboutmaking the best of the job you have. I wish you all the best and I hope you always put your best effort, for the owners sake. No-matter what your job or role you are in just remember, you are all important for success in this company. You will make it or you will break it.
I went here for the first time to meet a friend and her kids here. Get ready to pay for everything you do. The kids were so bored with the activities we paid for after a while so we had to go but more things. We could not bowl like we originally intended to do as there was a party the whole time we were there. The kids disliked and did not have fun playing laser tag as there were teens playing that targeted our younger kids so they got out right away. Good thing we only paid for one game of that! The arcade did not last as all the games used a lot of points so their tokens didnt go far. All the kids stayed they didnt want to go there again. If it was more reasonable and the kids could do more I think it would have turned out better.
I would have rated it a five but pricing is a bit high. Otherwise it was a fun time. my 14-year-old daughter loved it and Shirley is the best staff ever!! What a wonderful lady I would definitely recommend checking it out!
All was good promote that nice lady #thxforthesnap up the pizza game tho cause that was not the best #_$
Took our 8 and 4 year old here. Groupon offers a great deal for an all day pass. Its not amazing but you can easily spend 3-4 hours here. We all had a great time.
Little girl had fun with her 4th bday hereDont bother with the small party package, kinda a waste o money for a little kid atleast.
What a fun location! I came to meet here with a group of women recently to change up our usual meeting spaces and we had such a great time! We had an assortment of pizzas & beverages. Best part was that when the meeting was over, we could go play out in the main area. Just an overall upbeat, fun music, cool lighting kind of a place that people of all ages can enjoy!
It was an ok experience it can be really busy at times and the mini golf is not the best but Laser tag is fun
Fun place to bring kids on cold days. They offer many activities like bowling, axe throwing, mini golf and lots of other things. Daily specials are offered just check the website. Food is reasonably priced. Fun place to have a birthday party, rooms are available to.
My kids absolutely loved this place the staff one in particular was super friendly made our experience 1000 times better. We been to many places like this before and it’s the staff that can make or break the kids experience and I give this place triple thumbs up. Thank you to the kind staff you have on your team.
The kids love this place. My qualm with it is the food isnt good, its been very dirty when weve gone and the arcade game prizes relative to the costs of the games are not great/ options are slimmer than Dave & Busters and poorer in quality.
Nice indoor amusement park with many games and event hostings.
I would recommend this place 100%. Ive been there many times with my kiddos (they range from 9 to newborn) and every visit we have had such great experiences. The staff, including the manager have been so accommodating and sweet. They really make you feel comfortable and welcomed! Its never easy for me on outings with a baby and a toddler. So for us to have a fun place to go, especially In the winter that isnt stressful is so appreciated! Thank you Big Thrill Staff for all the fun and support! Cant wait to see you guys again and make more memories!
Zombie shooter wasnt working the rope course was minimal only a few bumper cars were fully charged and working properly nobody at concessions had to stand there for a few minutes before someone came. Bowling was fun the older lady that helped us was super nice. I would recommend driving to the Oakdale location.
First time going. Had an absolute blast. Definitely not just for kids!
Please dont waste your money at this place! Its not worth it, its under staff, its unsafe for your kids Im telling you as a parent, theres its so many other great places!
Lots of activities to choose from. Ive been to better laser tag locations, but this was okay. Great 2 level play area for younger kids. 4D ride has many selections to watch. High ropes course is fun but only two level so not very high. The ride operators werent very enthusiastic.
Its a green bean. Go there sometime youll all be chillin
Threw axes. Drank Big Island Blonde ale. Not a baf diversion overall.
(Wasn’t able to send this on the website due to formatting issues, so I’ll leave it here!) I wanted to take a moment to thank Minnetonka Big Thrill Factory for the awesome time I had last night! My party of four came in for ax throwing and we stayed for arcade games. David helped me over the phone in my attempt to book a same-day reservation, and Jeremy helped me figure out how to use an expired Groupon for our visit. Jeremy also provided our group with a super fun ax throwing experience. He was very passionate about the sport and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. I was pleasantly surprised by the leadership and commitment to the customer experienced displayed by these two guys. We will be back!
Fun, lots of different activities - not just arcade games. Food and treats. Friendly staff. Kids will love it...
We had a couple beers while the kids had fun. The kids liked it. Kind of expensive for a birthday party though. Almost $400.00
So much to do for the kids. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the trampoline guy.
Our guide didnt tell us much. We didnt know what was included in our package or if we could take a cart with our stuff and left over pizza. It was very confusing and she didnt expand on anything. Put out extra plates and cups for the parents too. The kids love laser tag but were charged when it was supposed to be unlimited. I ended up having to buy more credits after only one hour of being there.
Fun for kids but a little cheesy and outdated. The package we purchased was confusing and not worth the price spent. The arcade cards were unpredictable and were not accurate at using points per game. Overall, its an okay place. But we wont be returning.
Great place to let kids burn off some energy. Arcade games are pricey for time of use.
This was pur second time coming, we had so much fun. I thought the prices were fair, we spent 3 hours and the kids had a great time. We will definitely be back!
Do not waste your time at the Minnetonka location. Attractions were partially broken and food was disgusting. Save yourself some time and attend the Oakdale location.
Fun for the kids. And they had a great Groupon offering we took advantage of.
The managers there are rude and they threaten us to call the cops if we don’t live when we have 10 minutes life
Always an awesome time! Great games and outstanding food. Place was a lot if fun for everyone in our group. LOVE the Axe throwing!!
We didnt realize this place was so child-oriented before we got there, but we had a fun evening anyway. The prices were a little excessive. Thankfully, one of the staff made our evening extra fun with axe-throwing and laser tag.
Booked a corporate team building event for 9 for ax throwing. Was skeptical about hosting adult coworkers at the venue, but they soon put that skepticism to rest. Staff did an amazing job! Service was attentive and friendly. Ax throwing was a blast and went over well with the team. Was also nice to break away for other activities like laser tag and air hockey. All positive feedback from the team on the following day.
Tyler was a great party host for our 10 second graders today. I mistakenly thought the party was 1-3pm but it was 12-2pm and I was a half hour late w the birthday boy. He did a great job despite this! I’ve thrown about 7 kid parties and been to many more do I’m fairly well versed on what is available in the western Mpls suburbs. Big Thrill was a bit pricey and had a fairly involved website to sign up but it was worth it!
We were visiting Minnesota for the 4th of July, and decided to bring our little ones to enjoy themselves here. Terrible choice. I paid 40 dollars for a all day wristband and the customer service was horrible. Short on staff, nothing was working, and we had to be moved twice to another bowling lane. Dont come here.
It is the thrill that will get you when you enter Big Thrill Factory!! There is so much to choose from that they even have comfortable chairs to relax and let your companion continue with zeal. Look out for their boots. Great deals are already underway.
Loved the new ax throwing at the Minnetonka location. The staff was knowledgeable and truly made it a great experience with all my guests. While playing you have the option to purchase food and drinks. Highly recommend for a fun evening out!!
Really great staff and good value with all the options if you buy a package. We had a blast with the kids and I have blisters from too much laser tag...
Think more along the lines of Chuck E Cheese rather than Dave and Busters. Not bad, but also cant really decide what it wants to be. Food is surprisingly very good though.
Ive never wrote a bad review in my life !!!! The manager lady with short hair and glasses is the most rude unpleasant person Ive ever met . She ruined it with her stank rude attitude!!!!!!!Yes it was that bad. Every time I had an issue and had to deal with her she just looked at me crazy and didnt explain anything smh
Great time! We had 12 people in our group, had a blast bowling and ax throwing!
Great pizza a lot of fun with the kids and adults
Madison checked us in. She was a friendly young woman. Clean facility.
Fun place to bring the family.
We always have such a great time at this place. There are many great deals if you plan before you go and we enjoyed their pizza and onion rings. Though the staff are spread a little thin, they were all extremely helpful and friendly in the experience we have had with them. Our new favorite thing, the Axe throwing, is surprisingly easy to do, but such a blast! The staff were so friendly and made sure we got pleanty of axe throwing action. We will definitely be back!
Fun but a bit costly. Grandson had a great time so it was worth the cost! Well go back again...
