I came for my roommates birthday dinner and we ordered a total of 8 dishes. Everything we ordered was AMAZING!!!!! We got the Grilled Peach Salad, the Lettuce Wraps, the CHEESY TATER TOTS WITH FILET, the Shrimp Sliders, the Short Ribs, the Korean BBQ ribs, the Oxtail and a side of Cheeto Corn and there wasnt a single dish I wouldnt order three times again! Epic flavor, solid portions and very reasonable prices imo. Loved the Drunken In Love cocktail as well. 10/10 would recommend!
Having visited many times for superb music & other festivities I have quite enjoy it here. My most recent experience was 11/23/2019 to see RudeGirl, a local Clash tribute band. The concert occurred upstairs in one of the conference rooms. The band played the entirety of the album London Calling then finished with other unique Clash inspired tunes. Highly recommended for one unique experience.
Ordered the Regal size sampler; all items cooked to perfection (wow, the fish!!) with a great little selection of sauces. The fried cheese is totally unique- salty, creamy, chewy, crunchy cubes. Youll love them. Hubs got the bangers and mash- yummy dark beef gravy and carmelized onions. Shared the chocolate cheesecake for dessert.. next time well each get our own! Didnt expect the food to hit such high marks, but wow. And our service was prompt and friendly!! Seriously though, the chocolate cheesecake was a 10.... Didnt see that coming. Well be back!
Love Brits! First time here but wont be the last. Drink sizes are large and fresh. Their Bloody Mary is the best! Also try The Brits Ginger. Their famous fish and chips, Bangers & Mash and Mac and Cheese bites were the best weve had as well! The atmosphere was very upbeat outside and laid back inside, with a unique Brit feel to the design, layout and menu. I would definitely return!!
Awesome food and the upstairs patio felt like it wasnt even part of the cities! It was so quiet and had lots of plants that are pollinator friendly plus the big bowling lawn. Didnt spend much time inside but loved the overall feel of the place! Definitely will go back again!
I woke up this morning to the news that Brits had been burned down. Lets just say for the past 8 years I have eaten and entertained many of my friends and family in this establishment. To be honest I cant even fathom why some individuals would even consider burning down Brits. But this much I do know is that I m looking very much forward to when you open once again! I love Brits and hope this tragic time will pass from memory in the near future.
When I had been out in Minneapolis for some conferences back in 2012, I was warmly greeted by some fellow Liverpool supporters and invited to join them at Brits for matches. I was unable to do so in 2012, but that invitation was one of the bigger things that brought me to relocate to Minneapolis in 2020, and to finally have a chance to visit Brits. Its an absolutely beautiful space nestled into downtown Minneapolis. I was glad to be able to watch some of a Champions League match there, and am really looking forward to Liverpool starting up matches again and to be able to watch them there. Thank you to the gentlemen who invited me in 2012, and thank you to those there in 2020. YNWA.
This is my first review of any place ever, as I am in the food and beverage industry I always take everything with a grain of salt.I came in town from South Carolina, and fell absolutely in love with this place. Everything was fantastic from the staff and drinks to the foodIf you ever find yourself in downtown Minneapolis do yourself a favor and stop by.
What a great place! The staff and patrons have all been super nice! Gina is retiring from behind the bar after 19 years and the entire place seems to know her and will miss her!!! This is my 1st time here and Im already missing Gina!!! I only had a couple of beers and the scotch eggs, but man were they good! Ill definitely be back here in the next couple of days. I hope Im not too hammered to remember it!
British fare at its finest! All of our dishes were delicious and filling. Also tried the Scottish eggs appetizer at the recommendation of our waiter, and we were not disappointed. The service was quick and delightful. Perfect place to grab a bite before the theatre.
Good food. Good atmosphere! They have movie days and sports day on the big screen, and you can sit on the lawn and enjoy the sun! Very nice!
Brit’s Pub is a popular downtown bar. It is conveniently located right off Nicollet and is easy to get to on foot, by bus, by bike, or on scooter if you’re downtown Minneapolis. It’s popular with soccer fans as they show many matches and even screen major matches on a massive outdoor screen. It’s traditional bar food at average prices. Drinks are not cheap here but they aren’t anywhere downtown. The lawn bowling on the roof is very fun and people are generally in good spirits due to the uniqueness of it.
I went to Brits Pub long ago and it was nice. I read that they suffered damaged from vandals in Aug 2020. Im sorry that happened, you were innocent. I hope the best for this and all down town businesses affected.
Although we visited a while ago, this place was fun and delicious. Good food and a roof deck made for a fun end to summer visit.
You really can’t have a bad time at Brit’s. The servers are always incredibly kind, attentive and the view is amazing. Great spot to watch games or for quick drinks and food which is pretty good. Definitely one of my favorites places downtown.
Service was excellent and there were a lot of British themed things here including a bowling green. The food was good, but did not seem to be quite right for what I was expecting. I got the scotch eggs appetizer and the sausage meat seemed too dense almost more brat-like than banger. For the main dish I got fish and chips with a side of curry sauce. The fish itself was practically perfect, but the batter was not like the batter you would normally get at a chippy or pub. The chips were really tasty, but were much more French fries than chips. They had a crunchy coating and were thinner than chips. The curry sauce was also tasty, but not quite smooth enough. Overall, I would recommend the food as a restaurant, just not as a representation of authentic British food.
Patio is everything - love the lawn bowling and huge screen to watch soccer. Great beers from England - really makes me want to get back to traveling! Also, appreciate how they have adapted with COVID - felt safe and comfortable being there.
Was not a huge fan of the food, but the outdoor seating was great.
What a cool pub in Minneapolis! We gathered here for the Aston Villa game and had such a great time. Good food. Great beverage speciation. Awesome service. Amazing green space! Every city needs a cool pub like this! Check it out for sure.
One of the best places to eat, have fun and watch games. Lawn bowling and bootleggers in summer on the roof! Transmission once a year every February is a must. And you must order the Muddy Paws Cheesecake! Mars Bar! My favorite dish here is the pot pie but everything Ive ever ordered is just delicious and perfect! Classic pub ambiance. Highly recommend!!
This restaurant is amazing. it has hands down the best French fries Ive ever had. I had fish and chips. they were amazing. perfectly crispy and seasoned. my girlfriend and I got the 2 piece and it came with a basket of fries that was more than enough for us. the place is a little pricey but all around worth it. the atmosphere is beautiful with a UK feel all around. the water came without ice so if you want it, be sure to ask. I also got a 16 year scotch for $18. it was fantastic and smooth. if you like whiskey, this is the place for you. they had a front and back page of whiskey. everything from scotch to Irish to even Japanese whiskeywe got scotch eggs. I personally liked everything about them except the price. $12 for 2 eggs cut in half. the food is well worth it. the bar was full of people watching a game and every goal was met with loud cheering. it really felt like I were in the UK the whole time. well worth a visit.
Awesome location. If theres soccer on youll enjoy it even more. Good drinks good food. Fun atmosphere during a game, and when there isnt youll still have a great time.
Friends got together here at 8:30 PM on a Thursday night. Service was quick and beer was good. There was a decent sized crowd but it was quiet enough that we could all still hear each other and easily converse. Would go back again!
This was the first place we stopped while in Minneapolis and it was a great little spot. Lots of beer on tap and great food. The Guinness pot roast chips were to die for!
Wonderful fish and chips. Try the Curry sauce with the chips! Magic
Very nice pub! Delicious fries and veggie burger. Cant remember if it was a Beyond burger or Impossible burger but it was delicious. Im excited to return when Im in Minneapolis again.
Went to a Back to the Future marathon, saw Part II. Its a cool place with a great upstairs and patio area!
Service can be hit and miss. Awesome lawn bowling. Large bar. Premier soccer matches often shown. Prices are high and parking can be challenging. Menu and food can be improved. There is a patio on three floors (Street, second and third level). Private event room on the third floor has its own bar and is an impressive space
If you are seeking a friendly pub with great imports (including genuine imported New Castle) then look no further! The establishment offers an excellent selection of bar food and includes a pool table and several televisions for sports entertainment. Also, there is full seating as they have a full menu, and a lounge for when you feel like relaxing. Stop by any time, you’ll be glad that you did!
Had a beer on the open roof and tried their Scotch Eggs (pretty good!). Really nice views of the surrounding city skylines.
The food is delicious. Beer selection is awesome and the patio is very cool. I’ve had one great experience here and one pretty miserable experience with the wait staff.
Service, Food, and Staff are excellent. A great change from 4 yrs ago. My first visit was then. Now all is well.
Beautiful restaurant and even better patios. Had the service been better they would have garnered more stars. Our server, a handsome woman with short hair didnt really seem interested in working. She spent most of her time talking to other staff and huddled up to the bar. We ordered our drinks and appetizer and she never returned. She walked by many times and was close the whole time but didnt offer service. Eventually we had to ask her if we could place our dinner order, get drinks refills and another beer. I mean she was literally in the vicinity of our table the entire time but couldnt be bothered. Maybe it was just the bad service that made the food taste blah. The fish and chips were flavorless. Ill never understand why people dont season the fish before they bread it. The spinach dip was good. Not the best but it was big. I had the Brits Dip. The sandwich was good but the au jus was so so so so salty it was inedible. I would have asked for another but the server never came by. We again had to waive her down and ask for the check. Being the people we are and understanding the financial difficulties the pandemic has caused, we still left a 25% tip. Undeserving and definitely not worked for.
Definitely would go there again.Had the fish and chips, it wa really good. Please make sure you get there before 6 pm so you can enjoy the happy hour prices, theyre totally worth it, beer selección is really good and the appetizer are too (tried the cod pieces, the fires and curry sauce and the wings).
The staff was kind and helpful. My food came out fast and was delicious. Some of the menu items were a bit expensive, but overall looked like a good menu. A fun and warm atmosphere that provided a good experience.
Great atmosphere, inside and out. Best Guinness pours in the Cities.
Tried the Bangers and Mash, and the sausage and fried onions were good. The Steak and Ale Pie was my first experience. Strong beer favor in the meat. Pastry was light. The Trifle was very light and fresh. Not very sweet. The bar was loud, but a game was on and place full of people, so that is to be expected. Lots of seating.
Sheppard pie was good, chicken pot pie and fish n chips were good today as always. Noisy but fun atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the friendly wait staff and the outdoor seating. The decor inside was fun and what I imagine a pub to be like. The Brits burger was good but not worth 15 bucks, in my opinion. Really enjoyed the chips (fries) and curry, especially because they didnt kill them with salt.
Generous portion on the almond crusted walleye. Bread pudding was nice.
I had a delicious burger, that was actually cooked to order. This place was super popular, and it was almost impossible to get a seat during a world cup match, but when I went on the evening, it had all the charm and appeal of a London area pub. If youre in town, want a pint and a bite, this place is a fair bet.
Fantastic establishment. I go here for happy hours with good friends, and always have quick, friendly service. Good prices, food, and beer. Most importantly, the have Fullers English ales that you cant get elsewhere. Must-go bar in Minneapolis!
Ordered a medium rare steak and got it well done. I was hungry so I didnt want to wait for them to make another one. That being said, even well done this steak was super tasty. The service was really good and I would definitely come back.
Great food, friendly staff, beautiful view on patio. I ordered fish and chips, fish was very good. Not greasy, had a thin and crispy batter that had a great crunch. Also had amazing chocolate cheesecake, definitely recommend if you are looking for a casual dinner in Minneapolis!
Awesome rooftop dining experience! The staff were wonderful, beer was good, and a nice view of someone of Minneapoliss skyline.
Wonderful place but it is literally on fire right now. Like burning down.
Fun rooftop patio! Good food & great service & Cold drinks. Perfect afternoon outdoors in the city
One of the finest, funnest places to eat and drink in the Twin Cities! Get a seat upstairs on the beautifully maintained garden patio and order the Scotch Eggs or the fish n chips. Good food. Good beer. Good people.
We went to watch the fifa semi finals at Brit’s pub and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was great! It was packed to the brim yet the staff was friendly and accommodating. We didn’t get to try any hot food since you need a table to order, but we made most of the concessions and got plenty of 4 buck beer cans and dollar freezes. I certainly recommend this place but if you want an unbelievable experience you got to get here way early and get a table. Overall a fantastic experience and a great place to watch any big game!
Everytime we come to Minneapolis (for more than 20 years), we stop at Brits. Great pub food, wide range of UK brews on draught, fabulous patio and even lawn bowling up by the patio. Glad their first day of being open post-covid coincided with this summers stop in MN.
This is one fine establishment. Still wear the shirt around in Tulsa and every now and then someone will say Hey! Ive been there. Hope to come down to Minneapolis for a Vikings game again. This pub will definitely be my first or last stop to enjoy a Newcastle.
Loved the place. Was horrible to see this huge lovely Restaurant empty due to Covid. Hopefully it can make it through this mess.
Fave spot for watching soccer games up on the rooftop lawn. Good food and drinks too!
I just enjoyed a fabulous outdoor concert, courtesy of the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra at Brits Pub.What a fun venue with great food and drinks and beautiful music on a spectacular rooftop in downtown Minneapolis. Although the weather was hot and sunny, the crowd didnt mind because they were wrapped up in the cool tunes of West Side Story, Oklahoma, and more.
It was my first time at Brits. My party came for the MNUFC opening day game and had a phenomenal experience. The space itself is great with lots of nicely sized TVs with good viewing angles. Our server was absolutely top notch, especially considering how packed the place was for the opening day match. He checked in on us with the perfect frequency, never disturbing our viewing, but never letting our beers get empty. His food recommendations were informative and to the point as well. Seriously awesome server. Food was excellent, the beer was good. And we won the game. Cant really go wrong. Great place to watch soccer. Absolutely will come back.
No complaints here! Killing time while my daughter was at a dance convention and it was perfect for a quick lunch. Highly recommend asking for the curried aioli to dip your chips in! Our server was attentive and the food was great!
Must visit if you are in Minneapolis. Great vibe and great selections.
I really liked their Currys dip! The atmosphere is great and they have live music and lawn bowling. The food was great and service was nice. The place is huge, it has two levels and a giant outdoor area, be prepared for it to be crowded some nights. Close to the tram and other Central locations.
I go a handful of times throughout the year for a trivia held upstairs, so this review is just for that area. The food quality used to be very satisfying, rich flavors and hearty meals. Lately it has become bland and often slightly warm dishes that should be hot.The drinks have also become very watered down or not mixed right. I dont know if they got a new food distributor or if they switched up recipes but not what it used to be.
Great pub environment. Food is ok. Desserts are great.
Extremely fast service and good pub food. Plus who doesnt love a rooftop lawn for bowling?
My colleague and I stopped in around 8 pm after a long flight. The service was very quick, maybe only two minutes to get our drink order. I have the fish & chips and both parts were very good. The fries were well seasoned and crispy while the batter in the fish was very flavorful. Definitely a place Id like to try again if Im ever back in Minneapolis.
Scotch eggs are on point. Great overall dining experience. Bread pudding is delicious! Awesome selection of brews and whiskey. Will be coming back.
Started looking for a place with a terrace, but it was a little too windy on the roof, so ended up with a little walkaround inside and taking the table outside the main entrance.Okay, now the interior is very interesting, with a bunch of Britain-related stuff as you mayve guessed, there are flags, soccer team pics, wooden decorative details and even this world-famous telephone booth (see pic). To be honest, the place does look a little worn, however, since the building is historic and old, and there is a million people visiting it a day (very busy location), I personally wont blame much on it.Beer selection. Now hear me out, I decided to try few authentic London beers; my first attempt was Boddingtons, and that was a miss. It wasnt as carbonated as beer we used to drink and the flavor was little unusual too. Never giving up, my next shot was London Pride and it was on target. Again, it wasnt any similar to the most common beers we try, but this time it was simply amazing!! Definitely recommend! Conclusion is, selection is huge, try and find something exactly for you!
A truly unique experience in downtown Minneapolis. The atmosphere is an attraction unto itself and our service (Kelly) was amazing. The Sunday potroast was amazing! Such a beautiful time!
A little too, “Yuppie” for my taste, but the food and drinks are alright.
Best scotch eggs and I absolutely LOVED the fried cod. With a beautiful rooftop garden
Good location downtown. Very large bar, but upstairs dining tables are crowded and not much to look at but dark paneled walls. Downstairs seating would have been more fun!
Great outdoor space with nice views depending on where you are seated. They have two levels of outdoor seating. The first floor is big and has the lawn and also has street view. The second floor patio has some TV monitors and is also great but you do not get the street view. They have good selection of drinks. We ordered the kings wings and the tandoori sandwich. The kings wings were with Buffalo hot sauce and ranch and they werent good. I would not recommend getting the same combination of wings, not worth it. The tandoori chicken sandwich was good.
The best part of visiting Minneapolis is dining at Brits Pub. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy (a warm fire is so welcoming) Ive never been to England but I like to think Brits is what it must be like. Definitely worth the stop.
The food was tasty. The breading on the chicken was so crunchy! There were people there of all ages, so it is an environment different than any other.
They handled our large group very well. Delicious!
Good food and service just wish they had larger beer selection.
Watched United soccer game their with friends. Best steak salad Ive had in a long while. Will definitely be back.
Great experience! Very large place including upstairs indoor as well as rooftop area for dining and croquet court...umm...yeah, neever seen that before! Food is authentic British per a couple of my true English mates. Certainly a must visit place if youre looking for a good drink with friends and you want a memorable experience! Thats the croquet field behind us in photo! Did i mention lots of eye candy on each visit so far???
Nice warm, comfortable friendly venue. Authentic food & drinks abound. Waitstaff were friendly and informative. True drinks are served and if not readily created
Awesome place, great atmosphere, & deco.. Food was, fabulous..
Great outdoor space downtown. Lawn bowling is a must!
Scotch eggs are great, carp is delicious. Menu had lots to offer. Worth every penny. Will be coming back soon. Had the Chicken Tikka, delicious
Definitely has a cozy vibe to the place. I had the Guinness stew (Ive forgotten the specific name, not the one with the chips) and my friend had the shephards pie. We both cleaned our plates. They have a great beer selection and the service was very helpful. I would like to come back when its warmer and try the lawn bowling.
Great food and drinks. Try their fried cauliflower and Mac and cheese appetizers to start the night. Finish off with a local brewery beer while watching a soccer match on one of their many TVs.
I enjoy the scotch eggs and I always go here before a show at orchestra hall. Good food and good service. Nothing mind-blowing but solid.
Great food and choice of local beer. The Steak & Ale was tasty. The woodwork and decor provides a rich atmosphere for a reasonably priced meal. Service at the bar was impecable and friendly. A great experience!
Tasty comfort food, good beer selection and a lawn on the roof. It is a large restaurant with many different areas to sit. Come in the summer for special events on the roof lawn.
This is probably the best place for a drink in downtown Minneapolis. Its very large and has food as well! They have after work happy hour specials. Its casual and fun.
Cozy pub with good food and an passable beer list. Grab a pint and sit by the fire. The fries are a good bet if you are just there for beer and snacks.
Loved the bourbon tasting.
Server was on point and the food was hot and fresh.
This bar/restaurant has something for everyone: cozy, pub nooks, rooftop party fun, lawn bowling, trivia, movie events, great scotches...I could go on and on. A wonderful Minneapolis institution.
Best outdoor patio. Great English beer. Lawn bowling!
I really enjoyed my meal here! The fries were excellent, and so was my burger. The staff were kind, and service was quick. Would definitely recommend!
Solid British pub food, great atmosphere, great service. Highly recommended the fish and chips (huge, crisp, tasty), and the burnt creme dessert (small, creamy, satisfying). Sit downstairs for an energetic, noisy fun time. Sit upstairs to have a quieter meal with good conversation.
Great atmosphere, Great Food, great selection of beer. Our last visit we enjoyed the Fish & Chips, good size portions of Crispy Cod Filets.
Very good food and friendly staff. I had the almond crusted walleye which was excellent. Very generous portion. Several TVs for watching the big game.
Love Brits! On a nice day lawn bowling!
The chips and cheese were amazing! And, very generous portions. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere truly reminds me of a British Pub.
Our first meal for a bachelor party visiting Minneapolis. Got a table outside on the second level and thought the atmosphere was pretty cool.Unfortunately our waitress was extremely rude. Maybe learn some manners and learn how to respect your clients while serving. Not sure if she just hates her job or what, but maybe she is just in the wrong line of work.Anyways, service was fairly slow I guess since the place was pretty busy for a Friday night. Ordered a cheese burger and fries, nothing special. Friends found their food average/ below average. Rude service and below average food is exactly why we wont be returning.
The best, and sadly often only, place to watch rugby in the cities. Attracts a decent crowd as well, it’s nice being able to watch a match with other rugby fans. Service has always been good
It was pretty tasty. The server could have been a little happier serving us, however.
