Very interesting place. Great sight lines. Great sound. The parking is a bit tough. Many great restaurants in the area. A classic building. Saw HAIR there a few weeks ago. Most cast members were over 55! A great place. You will enjoy the place if you have never been. Go early to get a good parking place.
Saw the play HAIR performed by a cast all over 50 years of age. A very intimate place to see a performance not a bad seat in the house. Parking can be a bit challenging, but this is a classic theater that has been around for many decades. If you have never been, this is a Minneapolis bucket list item!
One of the best entertainment experiences Ive had. The ticket pricing options are great and provide a wonderful opportunity for low income patrons to enjoy live theater. The inclusiveness of this theater seems unparalleled. Multiple ASL interpreters and supertitles above the stage were provided for the hearing-impaired. They also had audio description services for those who have visual impairments and free transportation options as well. The people at Mixed Blood make a concentrated effort to have productions, cast and crew that represent a wide variety of folks, be it age, race, income, orientation, gender, etc. Beside all these great things, the production itself (How to Use a Knife by Will Snider) was a fantastic show that left my partner and I with all sorts of discussion on our way home. I cant wait to go back again for the next production this season.
Love it. Great space to see amazing theatre. General seating, so come early if you like a particular spot to sit and watch, since there are no assigned seats. And big ups to the facilities for having gender inclusive bathrooms
Ive seen the group blackout here and I enjoy the theatre. I like the flexibility they have with the staging
My wife had read a review in the StarTrib of The Song of Summer at Mixed Blood theater. My wife was enthused, and I trusted her, but had no expectations. It was a comedy by Lauren Yee, and was laugh-out-loud funny, well done, by good group of actors, and had a good story-line.Weve been there before, but it had been a while. The staff, besides the cast are so enthusiast about local theater. Well be back sooner.
Gorgeous venue! Very nice feel inside and a great setup.
Great productions and free parking. Close to many cafes and great restaurants!
I am consistently impressed by every performance I see here. Also, the work Jack is doing to make theater accessible (both by choosing shows that call for a diverse cast and via his program of radical hospitality) is truly a game changer. Mixed Blood is a theater to pay attention to, and others in the community should follow their lead.
Mixed Blood is great! The performance space is big enough to fit plenty of audience members with the stage, but small enough that the performances are very intimate. I enjoyed the show a lot, and the selection of concessions in the lobby was pretty good as well. I had a great conversation with the folks at the planned parenthood booth at the showing as well. All of the Mixed Blood staff were very welcoming.
Mixed Blood is amazing! They offer free tickets to their solid productions that center on important issues and topics in our communities. Truly a theatre for the community.
The play Pippin at Theatre 55 was great. Parking was a bear; we had to walk forever but oh well!
The art this company produces is by far outstanding. I recently saw How Its Gon Be, and I was thoroughly impressed!
Great community theater. Came here for a volunteer orientation. I think its great that they allow other organizations to use their space.
Great place to see a great show!
I love Mixed Blood! They are a solid theater in the Twin Cities and now home to Blackout Improv. Easily one of the most funny comedy troupes in the Cities. If you havent checked them out yet, you must put it on your list. $10 on the third Monday of each month. Its very good fun!
Great shows, great drinks!
Fantastic Theater with Exceptional Talent.
My teen has performed here- a popular local theatre offering a large diversity of programming that is hard to find in the bigger theatres!! Great topics, great staff- we are lucky to have them!!
Amazing venue, amazing value, amazing performance, I loved it!
If ypu havent been there, go! Unique experience.
Interesting venue, poor signage from the street, but great lighting and sound.
This theatre is wonderful. The space, the location, the shows are all great. Their radical hospitality program makes the space inviting in a way that pay-what-you-can-nights never will. They also offer a great membership for younger adults, and events and discussions alongside their shows.
Wonderful theatrical venue. The shows and atmosphere were both fantastic! Definitely recommend
First time there was nice need more show times
Amazing performance of Hype Man, and fantastic organized discussion afterward. Kind and helpful staff. So glad we came.
High quality, thought-provoking theater with a very welcoming vibe!
The best theater experience in the state!
2nd time to Mixed Blood and continue to be impressed by the production quality and selection of plays. Everyone should go!
Amazing performances at relatively inexpensive prices. Is god is was one of the best productions I’ve seen in a long time
Mixed Blood Theatre puts on amazing shows. Performances that are unlikely to be seen elsewhere. I strongly recommend that you follow and support this unique organization.
The Mixed Blood Theatre is a fantastic, intimate theatre that is utilized for the MN Fringe Festival and original theatrical performances of local and national companies. Quality performances should be expected from this Twin Cities gem.Enjoy your future experiences!
Saw Curious incident of the dog in the nighttime and it was soooo good! I especially loved how they used dim lighting and subdued sounds to be mindful of people who are affected by loud sounds and flashing lights. Its great to see a place center the people who the art focuses on (in this case those with autism)
Nice place to go to.
Excellent theater!!! Plays indicate true diversity. I love this place and will always visit it when I am in the area.
The mixed blood theatre is doing some great plays. I saw Colosal which is a very dramatic love story of a football player and a snap decision that changed his life. Very well written and produced. This is a good small theatre that is completely assessable to all walks of life, whether you cant hear or are short on money.
Well done, well done. Also love the old firehouse building.
Nice intimate theater could have better heating
Always quality work. Admirable commitment to local community.
Mixed Blood presents high quality theater on important social topics.
Always thought provoking theater in a fun old fire house. Everything I have seen here over the years has been excellent.
Every performance Ive seen here has been thoughtful, provocative, engaging and well acted. I love the atmosphere and the neighborhood too.
The show was great. The staff friendly. Will come back
We went to a show called The Sun Serpent a few months ago as part of a Spanish field trip, and it was incredibly well done! They do a wonderful job with not only the acting but the entire experience! Completely recommended!
Love the shows Ive seen
Excellent thought provoking performances!
Good location, great sight lines and sound
Mixed Blood offers some of the most accessible and poignant theatre in the Twin Cities. Amazing.
Radical hospitality here, meaning every ticket, unless you call and make a reservation, is FREE. just go to the box office an hour before show time, wait in line and pick up FREE TICKETS. ALL SHOWS. FREE TICKETS.
Its in an old firestation and has an amazing open feel.
Went here to watch a Spanish play, Corazon Eterno. Play was excellent and was in two languages. Theater was a little tight but we made do. There were subtitles in Spanish and English for those who only knew one of the other languages. Actors were very professional.
An eclectic theater. Comfortable seating. Clean. Clean all-gender bathrooms.
Small theater space that packs a big punch! Never disappointed when seeing the shows there.
Saw a Fringe show here and it was a great venue for it. From the outside I wasnt sure what to expect, but its whats on the inside the counts!
Super cool seeing a bilingual show. Dont worry if youre not fluently bilingual, there is subtitles.
