Saw the Nutcracker Noir last night. We always love the performances here and feel very fortunate to have a gem like this in our neighborhood.Its always quirky, fun, a little sexy and well executed. The performers are very good whether its aerials, fire play or dancing. Fantastic entertainment for the price!

Minnesota sky get it? One does if they live in Nordeast. Fresh dance fun.

A theater in a cozy venue with comfortable seating and intimate with the stage. Was a little warm at times, but was corrected during the show. We saw the Danger Committee here. Apparently, they also have burlesque shows and other adult events.

It was a brisk winter night, smoke billowing from my mouth with each shallow exhale. Forgetting what warmth felt like, I hurried into the double doors of the pink building. As a frequent theatre goer, I was expecting Minnsky to be like any other. the standard white walls, red carpet, and staffed dressed in mostly black formals. As I opened the plain wood door into the theatre, my expectations were shattered.A velvet rope on my left and a wall of 1920s inspired art to my right, I took in the crystal lit interior. I was transported to another world. Yes, the red carpet remained but it was my brick road to the Vaudeville City. Everything was sleek black, gold, and red. I could feel myself getting sexier just waiting in line, taking in the lobby. It was a small lobby but that was only in size. There was something of wonder in every corner. My gaze shifted from the laughing faces behind the bar staff, to the lit Vaudeville sign upon the wall, then finally to the plush chair begging to be sat in. My main focus was on the red curtain that hid, what I was soon to discover, was indeed magic.For the sake of brevity, my impression of the show was unexpected. The show was hilarious, the dancing was clean, the aerial acts make me excited/nervous, and they were all done by the real people of the metro. The performers werent all cookie cutters dancers. They came in all heights, weights, colors, sexual orientation, and more.There was no type casting because there wasnt just one type. I just being an audience member, I could feel the confidence radiating through the room.Once the show ended, I didnt even question my return to Minnsky. I felt like part of the family and I am excited for our next reunion.

Truly unlike any show I have ever seen before. You’ll have a hard time telling your friends what you saw, and it’s wonderful.

What a wonderful, funky, intimate venue! Such a nice contrast to the big corporate stages. Please support small-scale performing arts. Its where the gutsy stuff is happening.

Just watched The Godfather Mario at the Minnsky. Show was hilarious and the performers were beautiful as always. Its always amazing to see how graceful and athletic they are.

Ive been to many shows...never a disappointment in any way!Ive mostly been to see the Wicked Wenches. But everything that happens here is special, beautiful and just hilarious.

This theater is tucked in between two other businesses and while their sign were lit, Minnskys was dark. If it wasnt for Google maps we would have missed it. The parking lot in front is limited and has a path between the parking lot and sidewalk. You can park there but watch out for the drop to the sidewalk. The theater itself has the feel of making do with what there is.

Intimate theatre space with comfortable chairs and effective sound management? How about friendly staff and affordable local beverages? Located in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis but still with adequate free parking and reasonably priced tickets? Yes, yes and yes! Dont miss this place. Head across the street to Tattersall distillerys cocktail room after the sure for a perfectly magical date night.

Lady gaga and dancers were blind blowing. I felt like I was at a concert and I didnt even have to pay full price. AMAZING!

If fun is what youre looking for, youve come to the right place! This little theater in North Minneapolis serves up comedy like most places serve pancakes. By the stack! The most recent show was How the Grinch Stole XXXmas a parody (cause thats what they do) of the classic. You will enjoy music, dance, laughter, a little bump and grind along with some spectacular aerial acrobatics. Some shows even include fire eating and knife throwing! This mixed bag of entertainment harkens greatly to its roots in Vaudeville. Though most shows feature bawdy ladies doing and saying some grown up things, there are a couple of toned down shows annually for the whole family. Drinks and snacks are available. This is a super fun place to spend your entertainment dollar!

Fantastic show, wonderful people, unique atmosphere, very friendly and accepting, not a high brow place but then I do not care for limos and expensive outings. Just right for me.

The wife and I went there for our anniversary and had a great time. Our only complaint was with their seating. The chairs definitely are not designed for people to sit on them for a 3 hour show. Otherwise the show was a 60s take on Romeo and Juliet. Lots of 60s music and styles, some semi-nudity, but overall a fun show. Were already talking about going back for another show and we live more than 100 miles away so thats gotta say something good about the troupe.

Watched the inaugural Live Pro Wrestling event on Sept 22nd.The gal at the concession stand was wearing a dress with anchors printed on it.Outstanding!

Lots of fun!Kim and I go to almost every show, often we bring Rudy and he loves every performance!We really enjoyed the new show Open Spotlight It was a true variety show, ranging from stand up comedy to burlesque.I like the new options for the ticket purchases, i.e. I can get all of the major show tickets right now, and/ or plan to keep those dates open.We are looking for to the 2020 season.Many options for snacks and beverages are available at the bar.Nice clean restrooms available.There are no bad seats anywhere in the theatre.Corona virus update,they are open for curbside cabaret, several tables are available and standing room too. Tables are spaced far apart for our safety. The bar is open and a curbside cutie will come to your table for service. No need to get up until the end of the show.2 shows a night on Tuesday and Saturday, 6pm & 8pm.A table for 4 is $40, 2 is $30, & standing room is $8 per person. Fabulous 1hr shows! The performers pour their hearts into the show! Well worth it!!!

I love this theater! Small intimate setting immerses the audience in the performance. Diverse population of dancers and aerialists. Great variety of different acts which change every weekend. Theater members also change weekly with surprise special guest head liners. Affordable snacks snd drinks are available; and free candy while you wait in line. Padded chairs for individual seating. Tables are available for most performances. Great for birthday parties and bachlorette parties. Let the door person know for a public call out or something more!

I had the pleasure of seeing a show directed by a friend of mine at this theater. It was a great time! Its not a huge place but talent is still larger than life!

Attended the nerd themed show and the Grimms fairy tales for kids. Both were entertaining and enjoyable. Such a fun place ! Support your local artists and check this place out!

I have been to the Minnsky several times for Wicked Wenches productions, as well as being in a student showcase myself. The theater is very nice. The people are welcoming. The setting is intimate. And every production I have seen there has been extremely entertaining and enjoyable.

Really enjoyed the show of Lost Girl, will definitely be back.

Great local theater. Loved the body positivity. Entertainers were fabulous - Ariel artists, hoops, belly dancers, pole performances... i will be back. Also loved that there will be kid friendly shows!

When I booked the show I was not expecting a burlesque show. More a 60s twist on the classic Romeo & Juliet. My wife and I were both pleasantly surprised to find out that this was indeed a burlesque show. We had a great time and the 60s musical soundtrack was a great hit! The only complaint either of us had was the seating is definitely not nearly as comfortable as that at the Orpheum theatre.

Its fun watching their take on mixing traditional theater with the circus aspects (Arial silks, ropes etc). Clearly running on a budget but the performers are giving it their all. A charming little theater experience.

Been there several times and Im never disappointed with the performances! The atmosphere is very intimate. If you have a few extra bucks and want more comfort spring for a table, but there isnt a bad seat.

Beautiful venue... I went there to attend my sisters wedding. Its kind of small, but its quite unique. The staff there did amazing work. They were extremely friendly and quite accommodating. I would definitely check out some of the entertainment there given the opportunity.

Seating is a bit wonky and a little hard to see the stage at times but great shows!

Easy place to find. Parking right there on site. Its a nice little place. Seating was nice. Nothing over the top, but was nice. The burlesque/vaudeville show was just excellent. Only put off I had was it was just too loud. I am literally hard of hearing and it was loud for me. Other than that, I just loved this little place.

We have been hosting our studio showcases at Minnsky for 2 years now and its fantastic. Everyone works very hard to make the experience professional, fun and personal. Would highly recommend for events.

This theater is obviously run by people who are very passionate about what they do. Lots of energy everywhere. The seats were comfortable and the snack selection was surprisingly good.

We saw the shadow cast of The Princess Bride and it was fantastic. Very creative and fun. I will definitely be coming back to see some more shows.

Ive been here as a performer a few times, and I have to say, I love it! Wonderful space and great atmosphere. Very welcoming to all types of performers!As a spectator during shows...The crowd tends to run toward the young and hip (hipsters? millennials? Idk, Im closer to 40 than 30, so I dont know the trendy verbiage). Basically, your typical Nordeast denizens: super chill, and maybe just a little pretentious, but not so much so to be totally off-putting.The lobby is cozy, trendy yet welcoming. The bar is well-stocked with wine, lots of local brews and cider, as well as snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.There really isnt a bad seat in the house, which is the perfect blend of spaciousness and intimacy. The chairs are solid plastic, and slightly uncomfortable, but its easy to get past that when youre distracted with watching some brilliant burlesque/dance/aerial acts.Definitely take an evening or afternoon to check out a performance here! We plan on bringing our kids to one of the family-friendly shows soon!

Beautiful space! Lobby with bar and bathrooms is classy. Theatre boasts tall ceilings and i-beam rigging points for aerial shows. Stage has levels for depth. Acoustics are great for theatre. I was so loud! Large backstage dressing area with exit to hallway. Professional sound and light booth. Comfortable stage for dancing barefoot. Highly recommend.

Interesting and fun

I have seen the Wicked Wenches perform here a couple of times and now Im hooked. The space is large enough that the actors have plenty of options, yet small enough that there is good personal communication between the players and individual audience members.The lobby is small, but adequate for getting refreshments and meeting people. One nice feature of the layout is the option to step outside during intermission. After the show, it is only a two block walk to Sociable Cider Werks for more unique refreshments.Wicked Wenches is not the only group performing here. I look forward to seeing more shows at Minnsky.

Just returned from the last night of Pokeus Hoekus. As always, it was fun time with the Wenches! Would definitely recommend.

This theatre puts on an assortment of cabaret, burlesque and cirque style cirques. They build sets themselves and work the general arts community. Plenty of parking and very friendly staff and crew. Great location! And typically great snacks and concessions for audience members to enjoy.
