This is my first time actually rating a place only because I was so upset about the treatment I had received from this place. I was requested to pay a cover fee(in all of my life I had never been requested for a cover fee besides prime time events and downtown occasions). The price of drinks was okay(even though I had to pay a cover charge just to get in). Shortly there after I was introduced to a cold numerous profound amount of names that I had never heard pierced out of another humans mouth before. This had distinguished all of my faith in mad planet, and led me to leave because I felt VERY unsafe

A good place to spend the night hours among various shows, genres of music and unique people.

Great little rock and roll dive bar. Many an evening spent dancing the night away here. Fun for Dance parties and live music . I have seen tons of great bands at this venue.

Fun place. Very eclectic crowd. Friendly dance floor. Fridays 80s night...definitely a good time! Drinks are stiffer than you think and HUGE!! Reasonable cover charge. Only down side are pan handlers waiting for you to leave. No pretentiousness, fun joint! Has outside veranda as well. Great time!! A+++

Mad Planet is a great place to go for both dancing and lounging without a ton of pretense. Fridays in particular feature a fun 80s-themed dance selection. Weekends can be a crowded, so come early. The crowd is pretty diverse and welcoming. Drinks are reasonably priced too, and theres an outdoor area.Pretty much an ideal place to have some drinks and dance the night away without worrying about impressing anybody.

This is the best place to dance the night away! Like the 60-80s created a love child and this is what happened. The music was a culmination of todays Funk/Fusion with a Motown twist and Spanish tempo. Drinks are a little pricey but you get well enough liquored up with every drink! Must go again!

Seriously, the place could be great, but every Friday and Saturday has truly the worst DJs imaginable - they dont play requests, and what they do play everyone is almost zombie-like attempting to enjoy on the dance floor. If they get fired the place could really come up again.

This dive was recommended to me by someone who hadnt been there in years since I asked for a place with dancing. When we got there the bouncer charged us double the cover listed on the board. The bartender seemed halfway decent, but the drinks she poured were weak. I ordered a double mixed drink and didnt even get a buzz. The DJ changed the music every thirty seconds, so even if I had wanted to dance I wouldnt have been able to. The place was full of twenty something weirdos with ratty beards and man buns. When I say full I mean there were like maybe two dozen people there. Then there were the obviously high potheads doused in patchouli playing with hula hoops by the walls. It resembled a middle school dance the way they stood in little groups staring at the lights not talking to each other. To make matters worse when I went to the bathroom to check my eyeliner for all of thirty seconds one of the employees bashed the door open to see what I was doing almost hitting me in the face on my way out. As soon as I left she followed me out. This combined with two large security guards in such a small place only leads me to believe that they have a huge amount of drug dealers/users frequenting this business. All of the great reciews I read were obviously written by employees or friends, because this is one of the sketchiest places Ive ever been. Considering Ive traveled all over the country thats saying something.

Ive loved Mad Planet for a long time! Awesome and unique. Get out your dancing wings and go there.

Great staff except the 80s DJ he doesnt care what you want to hear, whats on his request sheet or how much you tip him, he will tell you people dont want to hear it and take your money. Get a better a DJ that care what people want to here or just make a play list... essentially that is all he will do.

Went to 90s dance party. Had a blast!! Pay cash at the bar or wind up dealing with trying to close out a tab with 400 arms reaching at bartenders. Weird neighborhood.

This place has good drinks and good prices. The staff is cool and the music will take you back. 2 times I have been there now and one of them times I didn’t leave the dance floor!!

THE.BEST.DANCE.CLUB.IN.MILWAUKEEI just love this place. Mad Planet is one of the only clubs in Milwaukee where youll always find a crowd dancing. DJ Alter is the best.

Why would you go somewhere else? It is pure dancing fun, especially for the retro night on Fridays (focus is on new wave 80s dance music).

Visited here on New Years. Paid a $15 cover to enter. What were they charging a cover for?? It was marginally filled and they didnt seem to be doing anything noteworthy for the occasion.
