We were there while they had live music and dancers. While small limited space added to its charm. Really enjoyed the themed atmosphere. Cant wait to go back.
Very very very nice.. love the whole speak easy concept.. the back ally (front door) the bartenders attire the live music .. it was very cool
Decent bar and cocktails but with limited drink selections. The staff was very friendly and the music was decent. Not for whiskey/rye/Bourbon lovers but maybe YMMV with other drinks.
This was the first speakeasy I have ever been to before. You kind of had to walk into the back of this place. It is dimly lit with really relaxing music. The really cool thing about this speakeasy is that the wait staff is all dressed up and they have a bunch of really interesting drink options to choose from. I would recommend coming here
The decor and entertainment were great. This is strictly a cocktail lounge. Meaning no food is served on location. So having said that the theme is that of a late 20s early 30s speakeasy there are different theme nights for the music. Great place to socialize and hang with friends and meet up.
Music is terrible. Some woman on stage trying to dance for the first time in her life. Terribly disinterested bar tender and some security guy watching the stage with 10 people in the bar. Like a surreal bad nightmare.
Always a great time with top notch cocktails. Great love music. Flapper girls. This hidden speakeasy is definitely a great downtown destination.
The singer was really nice and fun! He was the highlight of the night. The wine options were good. Cocktails were low quality. The bartender made his last call at 12:00AM and we still had drinks and went to our table and asked us to leave at 12:05AM. He was very rude. There are women dancing in the back of the bar as part of the music performance. They wear very little clothing which can feel very objectifying. I didn’t really find that artistic, maybe if they had different clothing and it was less about their nakedness and more about their talents it could have felt different.
Fantastic bar with fantastic cocktails. Love the speakeasy vibe and everything else with it.
Was here with a friends wedding party and it was ok. The best part by far, was the adorable old fashioned store front they have masking the speakeasy. Such a cool thing to see. A hidden gem to be sure!! A must see if only to see the bars cover as it were
This place has a great theme and the atmosphere is great, plus they have live music.
Some of the most amazing drinks Ive ever seen!
Great fun. Wonderful atmosphere. The drinks are really strong.
This place is trendy, has great drinks, and the staff is very friendly. Will definitely return.
An all-time favorite of mine! Definitely a place where quality exceeds your expectations
Very nice, lowkey, live music and vintage drinks! Awesome!
Ahh, I love this kind of place. The hidden feel alone=mood. Thankfully the GPS knew exactly where to take me, but it still felt like a secret adventure. The inside is dark, swanky, and old-timey. Had some fun drinks, too. A must-see.
Very classy place. Ill be back.
Great atmosphere and good drinks!
Fun spot bartenders are really slow
Fun place. Great music.
Atmosphere was very inviting and the place looks really cool. The entire space is kinda smaller compared to other locations in third ward (but that is not a knock against them). The performances by bands are a great feel. Seating is limited at times. Reason for the 4 stars, is I was not personally blown away by the drinks. I was hoping for more of a great signature drink - I had an Old Fashioned. Nothing to exciting. Fiance had a $5 Marg special - also said it was nothing special or great.Would recommend going here and it is an enjoyable time.
Interesting concept... loved the music and the dancers... cant remember what drinks we got. REALLY dark!
Really like the place itself! Great entrance with back alley entrance and hidden crate door. Inside is nice and dark. What ruined it was actually the people working there. I liked the woman dancing in the corner like back in the days....but they had a guy in a different corner singing fergie, Justin Timberlake, etc. Made us laugh. Just have the bar playing Frank Sinatra and everything will go together.Next is the bartender. Kept hearing some drunk idiot yelling all night for whatever reason....ended up being the bartender drinking and playing bar dice. I think he played bar dice more than bartending. Waited to order more drinks and had to ask a server for a refill....which she asked the bar dice playing bartender who never made it. She then asked another man who I think was a bouncer make the drink. 30 minutes later we got our drinks and left for another bar.So remove the karaoke piano players you have coming in on the busiest days thurs-sun and play some popular oldies, then replace your male bartender with a bartender who isnt drinking during the job and annoyinglly loud all night and you will have a 5 star bar.
Ive been here a few times and always enjoyed it. The decor is slick and its a fun atmosphere. Most of the drinks are reasonably priced but they dont have enough servers when it gets busy and, if your at a table, you end up waiting. Some of the bands Ive heard there have been pretty good but their sound system leaves a lot to be desired. My wife and I were in there last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I ordered a pour of Johnny Walker Blue @ $48. Pricey, but we were celebrating. When it finally came, 20+ minutes later, I doubt it was even a full shot. I know what Ive paid for a bottle of Blue and basically after they sell 3 shots its paid for. To be that cheap when someone is spending that much money was really annoying.
Cool venue, bartender was nice. Took her recommendation on food and wasnt disappointed
Great bar. Diverse drink menu. Its hard to decide if you want to watch the musicians or dancers when bands play. No cover charge but parking can be tricky as its on Water St. Parking structure on Chicago if roads full.I will go back.
We were expecting the place to be a lot bigger! It really didnt seem like a 20s themed place
Love this place, one of the coolest venues in Milwaukee, and the old fashions are fantastic
Cool place, cocktail was good, but we were there for only an hour and the music did not fit the vibe at all. Jackson 5 songs twice while we were there and some other 80s slow songs. Would expect some jazz or blues or something. A bit disappointed.
AMAZING ATMOSPHERE! Totally send you back in time and makes you feel like your part of a secret club. However, the choice of the band totally brought me out of the experience, it felt like they should preform at a coffee house, not a speakeasy. If they got jazz or blues artists in there, it would complete the experience, and might be easier for the flappers to dance to. Otherwise love it!
Lovely little bar, great vibes, good live music. cool 20s theme
The actual visit to the bar was great.I was visiting to collect thoughts and inspirations for my 1920s wedding. The bar manager I spoke too was very helpful. However when I contacted their planning coordinator or maybe it was the manager of the establishment (Im not sure) she really wasnt willing to work with me or answer my questions. I was trying to see if I could host my rehearsal dinner there. I understand they really dont serve food, so I was really just looking for our families to snack, drink and mingle.
Cool spot to check out! Lady bartender wasnt terribly friendly..
Awesome atmosphere and stellar live music
Awesome live music, with classy and timeless atmosphere. Energetic and fun! Defenitly will be back!
Drink and live music. Perfect
A great little place to enjoy a drink and company. Two thumbs up!!
Fantastic place.I wish I knew of it years ago.
Good vibe and great drink specials.
This actually a pretty cool place. 1920s gogo dancers, live music, decent drinks and not too crowded. To get in youve gotta go through the front, (next to the he old-school deli). You only start to hear the music about half way down the hall. Very Capone like.
I always have a great time here. In addition to the novelty of it being a speakeasy, its a great place to spend your night. Live music every weekend does the trick every time!
This is a nice little place to stop for a couple drinks and catch some live music. I like the whole vibe of being a speak easy and that you enter from the alley. Just adds to the whole experience. Bartenders and servers are always helpful and nice. Very small place so I would suggest starting your night here so that you can find a seat. Standard pricing across the board. Every time I went the live music was good. May not be for everyone but its worth checking out.
Cool spot, great interior space (minus the TV’s), but ambience that does not fit a speakeasy (see aforementioned TVs and music that doesn’t fit the supposed vibe). More importantly, for a supposed cocktail bar, they don’t seem to know cocktails. Had an Old Fashioned and a Negroni. Both served with far too much ice and Old Fashioned can be served “sweet or sour” which is odd. Drink presentation was also poor (improper glasses, had to search for the garnish, one glass had water spots all over it).
Really liked the 1920s look and especially the creative way of walking in the front door and through the elevator. Well done. Bartenders were friendly and quick with taking orders. It was cool to have some live music as well. Will definitely be back.
Awesome place, set up exactly how a speakeasy was back in the day . Friendly people, great drinks
Rude waitress, interesting back door entrance.
I love the old school atmosphere, the funky flapper dresses, the band, and the decor. This is a fun and unique place to grab a drink on date night or with a few friends. They have a great drink selection, including great martinis! The staff is friendly and prompt as well, so youre guaranteed to enjoy your time!
Fun themed bar with live music and great happy hour specials. Cant wait to go back.
Had read about the place online so when I saw Gabriel Sanchez was doing an acoustic set, it felt like time to visit. Enter from the back alley, it gives you the sense of sneaking into a secret clubhouse ( like the safehouse). The front is a front Deli that unfortunately was closed, but still smelled enticing. Its a small place and with about 60 people was what an adult calls packed. 2 reserved tables went unused while we were there. What an annoying privilege wasted. See Gabriel when ever you have a chance, great artist.
Loved this place! The music was amazing and the vibe was great! Would definitely go back!
Psuedo secret entrance in the alley. Unique atmosphere. Great drinks. Fantastic band and a amazing singer. Perfect speakeasy experience.
Went for a free round prior to a Bucks game. Cool, hidden place. Probably fun with live music, but it was empty at 6pm.
Super cool little out of the way cocktail bar with live music. Fantastic cocktails. If you love champagne cocktails, this is a great spot.
Love the vibe of this place and the female employee uniforms
Its exactly how it sounds. The best hidden gem in the Third-Ward. Strong drinks with unique choices. This place will be hard to find, which makes going there even more of an adventure. Spent a night on the weekend exploring to find this place and be rewarded with some live music.
Higher prices, by the drinks are made very well. Great entertainment as well.
Love this place.. great tunes, refreshing drinks and great atmosphere.. always a good time here
Really neat place with great old fashioneds
Beautiful place, drinks are superb plus a live band.
Fun place. Limited drink menu. Gets crowded. Minimal seating.
Fun place with an interesting hidden entrance. They have a great vibe with the prohibition feel along with live music.
As soon as I walked in I loved this place. Music-awesome. Bartenders-amazing. Atmosphere-like your cool friends basement.
Simply a cool gathering spot with an abundance of atmosphere!
When the best part is arriving and leaving... Find out for yourself. The music inside is extremely loud and I do not recommend to anyone who wants to sit and talk. I do recommend checking it out once, its a neat place.
Love the love music and intimate setting
Cute place. Nice bartenders, good drinks, rude waitress.
Instant Atmosphere!!! A True Speakeasy! Great drinks. Business casual dress, or go all out in Speakeasy Attire.
Great drinks and music. Highly recommend.
Very cool place to stop and have a glass of wine!
Always a fun spot to visit with excellent cocktails and a very unique atmosphere. There is usually live music so dont be afraid to do a little dancing!
Very interesting atmosphere, knowledgeable bartenders, and some live music. We had a great time!
This place takes you back in time with the atmosphere and dancers. Good drinks and good music for a great time.
Fun. The scheduled musician was a no show. The bar found someone to show up in 30 minutes and start playing. The guy James Williams was very talented
If you can find the entrance this speakeasy is worth the search. Great depression era cocktails and live music some nights. The day I went they even had a go-go dancer but beware the place is kinda small so seating is limited, but if you dont mind standing come whenever otherwise try to make it out a little earlier to get table service from their waitstaff.
The drinks are delicious. Everything else, not so much.
Great music and atmosphere. Love the craft cocktails!
Contemporary yet traditional and true to the speak easy.
I love Bugsys! BEST happy hour in downtown MKE, IMO. Happy hour 5-8 M-F with $5 cocktails - its the best! I love the interior, and the whole speakeasy concept is great with their deli front and the back alley entrance. Staff were always helpful and friendly
Cool place, awesome band playing the night we went, crowded, but cool!
Neat little place. Not as authentic as some would like, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Best place for live music in Milwaukee. Great drinks, and wonderful atmosphere!
Bar wise, pretty good, but I dont see a 20s theme.
Excellent dirty martini!
Not at all like a 1920s atmosphere. Small place with few seating options. Best thing was the entrance. Played loud modern music not speakeasy era music. This place is contradictory to there theme. Disappointed.
Great place for a drink and live music. Not very big so it feels private.
Great aesthetic, but poor music choice and sports on a television really kill the speakeasy vibe. Beyond that, one would expect classic cocktails, not cocktails containing red bull or sweet/sour old fashioneds.
Nice bartenders. All in all pretty poor experience if youre looking for something period. Just another small bar. Nothing special.
I had an amazing time here. Great place to dance and enjoy your time with friends.
Unique trendy has an old sophisticated atmosphere feel.
Great place
