Went this past weekend. Not a bad experience. But wasnt thrilled on the wine selection. I wont rule this place out as a no-go Will try again another time maybe. Also I read reviews as to bring your own food because they didnt serve anything but once I brought my food I was told you cant bring food on the property. Just an FYI.

My wife, our dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing Saturday afternoon spent at Big Dog. We sat by a fire pit drinking excellent wine while relaxing to live music.

The parking is okay, the entrance to the tasting area is well marked, and the prize at the end of the journey is DELICIOUS well represented wine varietals. Avinica (sp?) was the person who provided excellent service and information for each wine on the tasting menu as well as the wines sold by the bottle. I will look up the web address and hope that they ship to SoCal.

Ill admit it, we came here to check it out only because it was a local winery! We had a wine tasting and ended up becoming wine club members! The wine is good, not the best but mostly good. They source grapes from other regions of California.Wine tastings are fairly priced at $10. If youre a member you get unlimited tastings for yourself and up to three (3) guests per tasting!Oh and if youre wondering the Milpitas Smell is not noticeable at this winery...

A winery in Milpitas! Yes and I love this winery. They specialize in cabs, my favorite. A tasting is $10 for nonmembers. It usually includes at least 5 wines and they are generous pours. Got to warn you though, it is hard to walk away without buying a bottle of wine because their wine is so delicious.

Incredible place for a winery tasting room! A lovely arbor covered patio with tables and chairs set up for the live music they have from time to time. The wines are good, the Zinfandel was my favorite. The experience of visiting here, in person to taste, makes this place a cut above.

But to be honest this is my passion and lifes work for the past 20 years. What is Big Dog Vineyards to me? Four words:1. EXPRESSIVE. Most of our wines are estate grown right on this hilltop in the east bay hills. Optimum soils and bay-influence weather make this the perfect location to grow Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wines are delicious, intense, expressive and sometimes big. (Its hard to be Big Dog Vineyards and make a wimpy wine.) We feature intense flavorful red wines and french oak (full- ML) Chardonnay that also appeals to both white and red wine drinkers.2. LOCAL: Our wines compete favorably with the best of Napa and Sonoma but when its time to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting were just 3.2 miles up the hill from Silicon Valley. Rather than fight traffic to the wine country you can be here in minutes enjoying fine wines, great music, and a friendly atmosphere. Were honored to be your neighborhood winery that happens to be as good as it gets.3. FRIENDLY: Our goal is to give you a warm friendly experience centered about great wine, good friends, and friendly company. Most Saturdays feature free live acoustic music on the patio. On clear days the view is from Almaden Valley to the SanFrancisco skyline.4. CONSISTENT: The most frequent comment we hear from our customers is that they liked every single wine on the tasting flight. Why is this a surprise? Our wines are all made by hand with the utmost attention to our unique style, the character of the varietal, and the unique location where it was grown.Cheers!
