This is a wonderful place to have in our town. We recently attended a free showing on Halloween with goodie bags for the kids. It was a great way to social distance while still doing something memorable! The double features are great and you cant beat the price.
Would have gave it five stars if I could see the dark parts of the movie, but not disappointing, expected from a drive-in. Plus there was NO dust or bugs. Concessions are big, bright, clean and had lots of options. There is a playground in front of the concessions and each screen has a playground. If youre worried about social distancing they took care of it. It is pet friendly and outside food and drink is welcome. The picture is at screen 3.
This was my first experience at a drive-in, and it was WELL worth it. My boyfriend and I went to see The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus. The entry was easy, the concession workers were friendly (and the prices werent bad either!), And the station that played the movie audio was clear and crisp. We will definitely go back!
Our experience was great. Most everyone was careful not to turn/leave headlights on or block views. We also ordered food which was pretty good. Overall it was an inexpensive and fun activity for the whole family.
Really liked the drive-in theater experience that this place has. It has 3 different screens that plays 2 different movies back to back for just a single ticket price. There is a large concession area with a large selection of foods to get for your movie that are made to order that you can watch right in front of you.The pricing is incredibly reasonable compared to a movie theater and the food honestly is much better than the traditional theater. The furthest screen away is just a short minute or so walk to the concession area and the parking lots are well organized and easy to navigate to a spot. Unlike some drive-ins this also has raised parking spaces that allows for the car to be parked at an angle pointed to the screen as well as a half moon shaped parking area so you always face the screen. The sound is played via the radio and each screen has its own FM station that is broadcast at very high quality without any noise or static. My honest only big complaint came from the screen itself which could use some color and brightness adjustments. Even in the pitch black of the night, scenes in the movies that take place at night or in the dark are barely visible with some not even able to be seen at all. Either projector upgrades or brightness adjustments are badly needed.
My family and I had a great movie experience at Big Sky a couple weeks ago. The staff is very friendly and there is no such thing as a bad seat in the house.
So Im here for the free movie night for halloween this year. Very impressed with how organized everything has been. The staff at the check in were super polite and fast about getting people in. The sheriffs here were super kind and friendly to the kids making the experience better. Of course my son was hungry so I went to get him a burger. Again, the staff at the counter was super polite and took my order with ease. As I was in the middle of orderi g, management came up behind his employee and interrupted her as he demanded I put on a mask; mind you Ive already been in line inside for about 20 minutes at this point first of all, and second, I am expemt by state law to not have to wear a mask due to my medication. He then rudely responded with in this building, your not! Put it on or leave!. I will not be returning to big sky drive in after that. There was no reason for that type of treatment or attitude. I feel completely disrespected and I feel embarrassed for the kind staff at big sky that have to put up with that type of person as a manager.
Ever since I discovered this drive in theatre, I have not gone anywhere else. This place is perfect for the little ones and I love the fact that I can bring my fur babies with me.The price is very reasonable and often times, you get 2 for the price of 1. Food is great, place is very clean and the staff is so helpful and friendly.
I love going here!!! We drive from Westbrook,TX and we think it’s well worth it Best place there is to go watch a movie . The price of tickets are very reasonable too.. The snack bar food is really good and affordable and the staff is always so friendly. Bathrooms are always very clean. Can’t wait for them to open back up. I have missed so much going. This is where my husband took me on our first date and we have now been married 11 years. We try and go at least once a month. We are old folks so it’s nice to still be able to go to the DRIVE IN like when we were kids !
Always will give big sky five stars because I love it and it’s the only unique thing I feel like we should keep around for a very long time. My parents brought us as a kid and now I come still as an adult love it and when my friends come from out of town I love taking them here !
A fun place to go with friends and family. I just wish the screen was a little brighter.
Great place to hang out with family and the dogs! I Love that they have been featuring a lot of great throwbacks. Gives us younger ones a chance to experience some old classic faves on the big screen. The only problem is other people and their lights. It is worrisome how many people dont know their vehicle well enough to shut their lights off. The Big Sky crew does a good job of helping people figure out their lights. The real problem is the inconsiderate people who park in the front half and constantly get in and out of their car every 10 minutes and their lights come and then we have to wait for them to dim.
What can you say...Double Halloween feature. Great prices and the staff was amazing
Loved this place. Huge screen, very friendly staff. The concession stand was beautifully decorated Theater themed. I love the movie selections at I got to choose from the tickets were surprisingly cheap and I got to see it in the comfort of my own car all the concession stand goodies they were missing a few items that I really wanted like wings and hot dogs but they are just now opening up.
I havent really been to a drive in over 20 years but I do remember how fun it was.. I was just wondering if they still show 2 movie on each screen.. How much is the cost per car.. you know just general info..
Im 66 years old and its still a thoroughly great place to take a date
Great place for the whole family and price! The park is great to get the wiggles out of little ones before movie and the bathrooms are clean when we have gone. Have not gone since covid19, but sure its just as great.
The GM David and his wife are awesome! Very attentive with the guests. His concession crew was spot on! Very pleased!
Awesome for Families!! This is an often overlooked Jewel of the City! With all of your favorites; Guadalajaras, Chicken Wings, Chili-Cheese Fries, Hot Dogs, Huge Soft Hot Pretzels, and much more!! The Big Sky has the customer service you deserve, friendly staff, the entertainment you want and the experience your family will always long for. Grills Welcome!!! Playground for kiddos!Classic drive-in appeal without the speaker hanging on your window. Most of all the Affordable price that will put Big Sky on your family outing list building memories to last a lifetime!!! Get on over and visit the Big Sky, check out the website for new releases, showtimes, and events!
The drive in is pretty nice a great place to watch movies only reason for 3 stars I called ahead for important information before making the drive they intentionally hanged up twice on me very unprofessional and very poor customer service.
Can’t wait for this place to open again! Good food, socially distanced, and double features!
You do know that the governor opened up the state by 25% just sayin its been a while and me and my dog need a drive inn experience. Also my wife that lives in the Philippines love when I put my phone in my truck window for us to have a date night. So hurry up an open please.
Loved the movies.screen and sound were good. Snack bar pizza was pretty delicious. Personally I did not care for the nachos but my son liked them. It was super empty. There was mainly only 4 cars including mine for the screen we were at.overall was cool.
Love this drive in theater. Entry for the double feature is only $9 and they are new movies. The food is very reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Its a great place for the family or a date.
Havent been to a drive in this nice in a long time.
Nice, good place for the family.
Always a great date night place
A great date night spot. Its great to have opportunities to do something different while in the middle of the desert. It has a nostalgic feel but keeps itself well as a clean and modern alternative to a cinematic experience. Try it at least once, bring your friends or kids and make an evening of it.
Great place to enjoy a movie in a fun way.
What a great place for families. Great people enjoyed the movies
Love bringing the kids here
Yall are great!Im posting because you seem to have been taken in by the Covid paranoia. It has now been proven by unbiased SCIENCE to be not as bad as the Flu A or B.Please dont be Covid Cowards! Its not as bad as the MSM would try to have you believe.
Great customer service and selection for foods. Plus you get to watch 2 movies for 1 price! Love it!
One of the best Drive inns in Texas.I suggest you add a mini-golf course (like a really good course...windmills and stuff with adequate shading) on the adjacent side of the smaller screening. That will add something the Odessa-Midland area is lacking all while adding additional revenue on closed hours, it will more than likely increase the sales of movie ticket purchases as well. All being cost effective due to only needing 1-2 employees to staff. Just sounds like a good idea.
This was our first drive in experience and it was AWESOME!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! Our family enjoyed this and will be back when there are more kids movies for us to see!Thank you Big Sky
Always a fun place to be. Staff are young and courteous.
Loved it! Prices were unbelievable for the movie and the food. Sound quality was amazing. I will definitely go back.
Charles and the rest of the staff are great people!thanks for a great evening.
People must be kidding about the price. It’s exorbitant. My car battery when a little more than half the movie was over. They stated they woul be there shortly. They came 10 minutes after the movie was over. My friend and I missed the majority of the show. I will not go back. I can go to a theatre for $5.25 (senior) and That is so much better.
This is a pretty good place to watch movies
Although they moved the dumpsters to the exit the experience was great. Not only does this place give me nostalgia but now I can bring family and friends to make more memories! The only suggestion I would ask for is to have people turn off their vehicle and(or) headlights while the movie is on.
I would recommend this drive in. Brought the whole family including my dog. It has a play area for the kids that can’t stay still either.
Got one of my first jobs at the Big Sky Drive Inn that was about 14 years ago. They have been family ever since and its a great place to go when you feel like getting away from the City noise.. Enjoy 2 movies for the price of one and have great food all while enjoying the company of good friends or family!!!
Great time clean space especially when you have younger ones theres even a playground area and the funnel cakes are awesome
Perfect spot to take the kids, has a nice playground for them. Get creative on how you want to experience this BIG SKY THEATER!!! Don’t have to worry about your kids being loud in the theatre and bothering others. As far as my family we loved our experience here
The pizza was good but cold I am guessing they try to get out quickly other than that very excellent
I really enjoyed Big Sky Theater. The food was worth it and reasonably priced. The set up is nice. My husband and I had a good view of the movie. The one annoyance was the cars driving back and forth and the kids running around and screaming at the playground(in front of screen). Other than that I had a really good time its one of the places we can take out dog out with us.
Good food. Loved the movie Sonic. Had a blast!
Please remember to turn off your headlights and dont point em at the screen, other than that, the food is great, and they have a good variety of desserts and snacks.
Amazing! I havent ever seen a drive-in with more than one screen before & they have 3 active screens!! Good clarity of picture & sound is through your own vehicles radio! Sweet birthday surprise to watch Toy Story 4 & Aladdin
Love to bring my kids! Any idea of when you will reopen?
Always love coming to the drive in. Friendly employees. Great for a date night with the hubby. Well be back again soon.
Love this drive in movie theater. The staff is friendly, the concession area and bathrooms are clean. The food service is fast with a good variety of food and drinks to select from. The prices are reasonable as well. Fun, family atmosphere. There is even a small play ground for the kiddos and swings in front of the screens. If you dont know how to turn your head lights off or your car battery dies, they will gladly help you with both. It really is a good experience.
We Went To See Addams Family, Food Was Alright, Wasnt The Greatest. But, I Loved How Quiet & How Spacious The Area Itself Was! Will Be Returning In The Future!
Enjoy taking my kiddos here and watching 2 movies for the price of one.
Absolutely love this old school feel drive in. Every time I go to Midland to visit, we go to see a movie!!! The prices are great, full snack bar with just about everything you can think of, bathrooms, snack bar and drive-in grounds are super clean. They even have to playgrounds for the kiddos!
Affordable fun for the whole family. 2 movies for less than the cost of 1 at a regular theater. They have full concessions and are friendly towards outside food so stock up the cooler and bring your own.
It was an amazing experience. But the toilets were horrible.
Its affordable and I like not hearing everybody eatting over the movie.
I havent been to a drive in in many many years, but these guys (and gals) have certainly shown me the error of my ways. Good value, especially for two movies. Even the concessions were a decent price. And the three employees we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. Definitely going back and definitely recommend it to those looking for a night out.
First time going to a drive in and this location has made it a first and fav for me.
It was amazing I will go back keep up the great work guys
Great place for a night out with the family. The food is okay but the concession line is super long and slow. The womens restroom is nasty. Over half the stalls are clogged etc. If you come here try not to drink and hold it. Bring your chairs and cooler and sit outside on a nice night.
Consession snacks are fine but if you want a meal better get one before you arrive. The burgers and chilidogs leave much to be desired. Other than that the movie experience is always A+.
Great place for the whole family to enjoy. The experience from beginning to end is worth the trip. Outdoor play area for kids before movie starts, snack concessions, alot of parking spots available.
Management is the best. I go there multiple times during the summer. It is a fun atmosphere and they have a great menu.
Absolutely rad drive in! The concessions were awesome too! 10/10: would watch movies again
For the drive-in experience only... The movie selection stays up for too long and I recommend bringing your own snacks because what they have is What movie theatre doesnt have butter to add to your popcorn? This one!
Big Sky is always a very friendly and fun place to go see good movies.
Great place to go take the family and just watch a movie and hang out. Not very expensive at all.
Burgers were excellent and the mozzarella sticks were good. The service was prompt. I got to my movie quickly
If you have children this is the place for you i have a 6 month old and this place makes me feel comfortable because i can feed/take care of him in my own private car without having to walk out so i wont disturb others watching
Good place for cheaper prices on getting 2 movies for one.Their food portions are pretty small, and slightly over priced. The drinks are decent in price and taste.Their bathrooms need to be kept up with more for the womens. (I dont know about the mens)THE PLAYGROUNDS RIGHT UNDER THE THEATRE ARE NOT SAFE AT ALL.Literally looking at it I felt my children needed tetanus shots. All the metal is rusted and chipping, swings are breaking, slides are broken and jagged and barely holding together by 2 bolts.I only let my kids play on the toys by the concession stand, and even then all the wood chips on the ground are scary for smaller children. Keep eyes on your child at all times when in those toys because of the wood chips.
The food isn’t the best and neither are the prices but it’s as great as most drive inns. they don’t hassle you over car noise because everyone is pretty understanding about having kids out in the heat/cold.
I’m so happy we have a drive in theatre. The staff is awesome the area is great. I honestly can’t complain. I hope we continue to have Big Sky with us for a long time.
Great place to go watch movies in your car double features price of only 9 bucks a person you cant go to the movies for that and here you can carry in your own food you dont have to go to concessions so if youre looking to see a movie and do it for cheap this is the place to go. But I suggest you do check out the concession stand cuz they have great food.
I thought it was a cool kind of nostalgia. I didnt even know they still existed so it was cool
Nice place to watch movie with kids....you dont have to worry about your kids disturbing others. Perfect for family movie night.
I grew up in the era of dying drive in theaters. Im so glad Midland has a drive in. Three screens so theres usually a nice variety. And, you get two movies for the price of one! Theres a playground in front of each screen if your kids get restless. The concession stand sells a lot of dinner type foods and its much less expensive than other movie places. Wednesday is half price admission, so $5 for two movies. We can take our whole family and get food for about the price of admission other places. Bring bug spray later in the season, but they have repellent bracelets in the concession stand and if you dont have any. I love this place.
I Absolutely love going to this drive in Me and my family always have so much fun and employees there are very nice would definitely recommend
Love this place. My wild kid can talk all she wants and fill me in on whos who and the food and candy are cheap and really good.
This is just a fun place to be. Outside, with family or friends, and their foods good too.
Drive in was great. But a tip to people who have never been to one. If you are showing up after the movie has started, turn OFF your head lights PLEASE!
Pretty cool experience except for the endless barrage of headlights, sound of diesel engines, and smell of exhaust. If you look closely, then you can almost see a movie
My husband and I love visiting this drive-in! We put blankets and pillows in the bed of his truck, grab some snacks at the concessions stand, and settle in for a few hours’ worth of movies. It’s a steal of a date night at only $8/adult!We have never encountered issues with the staff or other customers. Everyone is very friendly and quick to help out drivers who may not know how to turn off all of their vehicle lights.
Great place for a family outing. 4 playgrounds and great food
Best place to go for first-run movies. The price is good, the food is great, especially for movie food, the staff have always been friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Id rather go watch a movie here than any other theater.
Hands down best vale you will find. Friendly staff and great food. Arrive early because they do get busy. Wish they had locations across the country because I travel a lot and would love to support the type of business they run. The lots are always kept clean and the playgrounds are great for the kids. The only complaint I have ever had is with the lack of courtesy of some of the patrons.
It was enjoyable
I think its crazy that they charge per person, if you are in the comfort of your vehicle...shouldnt they just charge per vehicle?
Amazing place to take the kids. Every screen has a park under it for the kiddos. The food is pretty good and th eff y have some of the best French fries.and 2 movies for 8 bucks, how could you beat that.screw cinergy thats what I say.
Enjoy the theater, food was not good. How do you mess up hotdogs????
