Great beach. Lots of space to find your own spot. I saw someone there playing with a dog, all day, so Im assuming they are allowed. Parking $20, which is a bit stiff, if you ask me. The send is nice and clean. The waterline is covered in seashells, so be careful walking in and out, to not cut your feet. No restroom is a big negative. There are 2 porta-pottys, but you can imagine the condition of those.
Dont go, leave it quiet and beautiful for the rest of us that already know about it!
The experience is always great. Residents only give us an opportunity to enjoy our beach. Awesome.
First time at this beach it was wonderful very quiet family-oriented the waters clear and clean bathroom is available in the parking lot Porta-Potty that is had lunch and chilled out will be back five star
A little rolly all through the night but a (much needed) good salty swim.
Great to relax and get some sun but not the best place for swimming.
Best place to swim on island
A quiet sandy beach in a cove. Roped off swim areas with lifeguards. No waves, very still. Best for toddlers or weak swimmers. A great place to practice wind surfing. Even on a busy day this place was mellow.Interesting rocky area to explore along Peabody beach to the right when facing the sea.
The sand was as fine as baking flour, mostly clean with my feet occasionally find a rock or sea shell. As you approach the water, there is a thick band of sea shells followed by some floating red seaweed before you find gentle water. This is on the bay side, so its good for little kids.
Any beach in Newport is great. Its expensive to park unless you have a season pass. Our go to beach is Gooseberry. Good concession stand. Watch out for the birds - they will steal the food right out if your hands.
The water was cold. But once you get in and you temp is set you will enjoy it. It was not crowded at all. There were some seaweed but not to hinder you from swimming.
Great beach for families with small kids. Small surf and plenty of space; be careful of the active boat ramp though.Open for legal dog walking from 6am-745am.
This Beach is very chill. Not a ton of people and very low wave activity.
Third Beach is great! We tend to go more towards the Peabody Beach side bc the snack shack is great for some burgers and hot dogs if you get there before 5. Parking is a little more at 3rd Beach than 1st & 2nd and slightly more I think $35 on the Peabody side but it’s definitely worth it, especially for a family beach day.
It is just crazy how you have to pay $130 for a season pass even if you go once a year. No daily pass.
This is a great private beach that is open for public after 4 PM. I had a very relaxing and memorable day here. Since its private, there isnt much fuzz and you can actually relax. The water is also really clean. I did see a shark (baby shark) and that was quite an experience.
So great, I moved to Middletown RI
Good beach for kids and families. Having grills is great. Make sure you get water and drinks. Nothing around ....
Very relaxed beach to hang out. Parking costs $20 per day on weekdays and $30 on weekends.Bring everything with you, include shade tent or umbrella if you need one. There are no rentals nor any other food stalls.
So clean, and amazing beach
Our toddler called it the “little ocean,” since she was able to navigate the water a bit more with the smaller waves (versus second beach). It was the less crowded of the two as well.
Very easy access to parking, and easy access from parking to the beach. No frills beach access: no bathrooms. The view is good. The water can be quite cold even in the summer.
I love this beach. There is also a few spots for grilling. So bring your food with you but please take your trash back to keep beaches clean.
Pleasantly unpacked compared to many other beaches.
Good beach to walk. HOWEVER, NO HAS THEIR DOGS ON A LEASH. Fyi!
Beach was quiet which was nice but the amount of rocks and shells was mind blowing. Wear water shoes! $30 to park for residents on weekends, a bit outrageous.
Clean and enjoyed the beach
Nice and relaxing not too many people. I love this beach.
Great place to pick up a Mooring before heading offshore. $20 a night.
Early November, no one person around... Peaceful
It quiet with very few waves and people. If second beachs waves or crowds are too much, then third is the way to go.
Nice calm beach. Very rocky and shelly. No red seaweed but also no waves.
Calm Beach area that I will miss. Great for younger people!
Calm place. Kids enjoyed the beach it was clean.
Very nice place to go with the family. The water was very calm the day I went, great for little kids.
Very peaceful little beach. Great fishing in the fall. It has Port a John restrooms and some grills on beach for cooking our during the summer.
Very pretty and calming. Parking can be pricey, though.
Awesome clean just a awesome beach to relax.
Beautiful big beach, lots of parking. Up the street from horrible Easton beach. 20 dollars on weekdays, ouch..30 on weekends...highway robbery. Tip after 4 you dont usually pay.
Lovely, quiet beach (at the end of August).
Such a fun place to bring my dog during the off season
Great family beach. Small waves
Great surfing, no mermaids.
I love this beach, BUT they need to install and put in place a lot more trash cans currently there are 0. This is not only an inconvenience to the people who paid money to be there but also a huge danger to the plant and animal life that may injest or suffocate in the waste others did not want to dispose of due to their being no trash cans, third beach could you please fix this issue.
Family friendly, beautiful, usually not crowded. Parking lot close to beach
Love this beach
Nice but for vacation who wants to pay $30 for parking for few hours! Outrageous
Beautiful and quiet in the off season. 3rd Beach is on the Sakonnet River, so it is slightly protected from the winter Winds.
The sand is amazing at this beach.
You might have to go a little further, but if you are looking for a smaller and more cozy beach vibe, this is the one for you. Enjoy!
This is a fantastic beach for the little ones. The water is usually calm and the sand is perfect for drip sandcastles.
Nice beach, never to crowded. Watch for the entering tidal river,, the water is extremely filthy with.. grossnes! Nice to have the boat on mooring rite off the beach.
This beach is truly a R.I. gem. Awesome beach.
Dirty water. They need to stop building! They need to slow the run off!
This is a peaceful place.Nuff Said
Ton of algae and black stagnant waters. Stinky too
Small but quiet good for kids very calm water
Great beach. Nice and free boat ramp.
Great place for kids
Nice beach, has alot of seashells on edge of water, but otherwise nice
Water dirty. Beach crowded. Very expensive.
Best Beach on the island! Great for paddle boards and kayaks.
Unable to have a fire at night here. Pretty view though.
Wonderful 30 minute stroll near gentle bay, sea gulls and sandpipers.
Warm calm water, great place for swimming
Good for kids since there are no large waves.
Its a decent beach. Fairly quiet, but the free parking was ruined by some local kids that told me it was 25$ and walked off a few bucks richer
Off the beaten path from the other beaches yet still close to other activities around Newport.
Great beach with white sand and the view over the boats was spectacular!
Never been high on my list of beaches on Aquidneck Island 2nd (aka Sachuest) is my absolute favorite. I kayak here once in awhile and walk the beach, but dont go swimming here.
Good people
Narrow sand beach line with small shells in the send. There is rent of the standup paddle boards and kayaks.
Thank you very much
Very good for family
A hidden gem!
Loved it
Beutiful beach
The boat ramp is useless for boats.
There is no parking!
Amazing
We gathered many seashells.
