Great playground for the kids. The pond is nice, but it gets a lot of geese, so there is always geese poop all over the grassy areas. Some people fish in the pond, but Im not sure how successful they are. There are a couple of pavilions with picnic tables by the playground, so you could bring a picnic and spend a good amount time there with the kids.

Play area is clean, but the grass isnt. But still a great place for kids.

I liked it. This is a great playground for children. You can ride with your kids or siblings, you can walk around the lake. I recommend for you to go to this playground.

Wonderful park! Great playscapes with multiple things to do! Great for infant/toddler up to late elementary kids! Parking lot super small, however it does appear that you can park on the side of the road next to park.

Beautifully kept park..Great place for the kids! Alot of space. Seperate play area for younger toddler age kids and for kids 5 and up. Benches and tables to have lunch at if u want.

My kids love this park. The only downfall is that theres is no Water fountains. But there are tables and Shaded areas.

This place was always my kids favorite, but since they renovated, its really great. Foam ground to cushion the kids if they fall or running, 2 seperate playgrounds to seperate toddlers and older kids. A mommy-and-me swing for little kids scared to swing alone. Shaded picnic tables, a lot of grass if kids just want to run, next to a nice lake. All around our favorite park to go to. Definitely recommend.

There are sections for toddlers,and bigger kids!duck, swans, fishing portable bathrooms rubber mat flooring so much fun picnic tables bring your children its very family orientated to your children will love the other children and climb on rock walls go have fun with you kids it even has a carousel

Really nice park to bring the kids or just watch the geese. Love the light up water fountains too. Updated playground for your kids to play on and hang out with other children and have fun outdoors. You could even bring your fishing pole and see what you can catch. Plenty of space.

Decent shady playground. Playground has that soft asphalt and stays pretty clean. Pond area often has a lot of goose poop to walk around - hopefully around it, not on it! Pretty landscape if you dont care about your shoes.

Nice park! Lots of fun features and slides. Pond and trail are well kept and clean. Worth a visit for anyone with little or big Kids who need to burn off some excess energy!

Its an amazing park! My 18 month old and my 7 year old niece always have fun when they go. I do wish that the toddler section was bigger but all in all its an amazing place. Theres always lots of kids and the parents are super friendly. Favorite park in Middletown

Our 3 year old absolutely loved this place. We did as well, watching him run around and enjoy himself. Unfortunately then the older kids showed up and it was no longer fun. The older kids have no respect for the younger crowd, pushing them aside, cutting them off, climbing up slides while the little ones are waiting patiently to slide down. This would have been the best playground we have been to if these kids just had some manners.

Brought my 6month old son to the park for the first time.

I love this updated version of butternut. Two sides of the playground, one for older kids and one for younger kids. Rubber used on the ground instead of woodchips, safe, and there are geese hanging out to look at as well.

What an awesome park, someone in another review did say watch out for dog poop and yeah, Watch out for dog poop... The peak was clean, safe I loved the rubber floor mats, a smaller playground for the little ones and a big one for the big kids, there was a birthday going on under one of the two pavilions that each had picnic tables under them, the lake was serene a few people were fishing down at the other end, a small parking lot but plenty of street parking.

We enjoyed our visit. The park was clean. The parking was interesting (it was quite crowded). I wish that there was a fence to close in the smaller play equipment, trying to convince a 20 month old toddler that he is to little for the big kid slide is tiresome. We like the different types of swings available. We will be back.

Nice little fishing spot for kids

Kids loved it, while I froze in the car. They are still talking about that playground weeks later.

Completely came across this gem of a park accidentally, but Im so glad I did! 2 large pavilions with picnic tables, and an amazing variety of playscapes. They did have some type of water feature, but it did not drain properly and if left on, would flood the nearby grass. I would suggest something that either turns on sporadically or is much easier to turn off with somewhere for the water to drain properly. Everything else was great!

I enjoy the geese. Given a choice between geese and people I choose the birds every time. The slides are quite fun even for a person in their late 20s. I do wish they would make a small walkway around the pond so I didnt have to step in mud every time it rains.

Friendly park w fun elaborate slides and “tree house like” metal structure. Swings. Cushioned flooring. If your kids or grandkids are small you’ll be fine until bigger kids show up.Specially if parents let them rough house it up on the bars and slides.

I love coming here to do some light fishing, you don’t come here to catch and eat it’s always catch and release. Just for the fun of it you know?The fountains at night are gorgeous and the playground was just recently remodeled and I’m not sure if I like the old version or new version.The geese that hang around the pond are cute but don’t get to close!!

This park is newly renovated from what it used to be a few years ago. I like how they have a material similar to carpet so it keeps the dirt factor down. It was a great addition to the community, and I think its a great place to take the kids. Furthermore, there are picnic tables and portapottys to handle the needs of any get together you might have or plan. Bravo to the city of Middletown. They definitely got this one right.

The new playscapes are awesome! Always full of happy kids! Places to eat lunch, plenty of trash/recycling bins.

Park is great. The new play scapes are awesome! The nasty & rude kids who have no parents / guardians to tell them not to climb on top and up the slides, kinda sucks. But its Middletown so you cant expect much!

Great park love the Mommy/Daddy and Me swing in the littles area. The big kid area has a HUGE slide. If I were still a kid I would have been all over that...

This park is really nice, very clean, bright and new, appropriate for kids of multiple ages, with various areas for fun and relaxation. The park area is split roughly in three: toddlers, children and mixed. There is an open green and a few benches around the lake. Two gazebo areas and two port-a-potty that have been immaculate all the times Ive been here. I like that they finished the chain-link fence to Butternut St, it helps to keep the kids contained (alas, they did remove the parking area on Butternut St.). Things that could improve: there are no water fountains or faucets, there are no power outlets, parking fits around 10-12 cars only (street parking available but no sidewalks). The blue track rubbery floor that paves the play area is thick and very good for dampening falls. No shady people or grafitti; good for kids fun and for parents mental peace alike!

The best playground I have been at. EVER. 3 STORY playground with enclosed slides just as high. Plus a lovely smaller scale toddler playground all shaded. And a pond for feeding geese and trees to picnic under. Great park for kids of all ages. Go Middletown. Well done!
