Cheers to the days when children used to pay 50 cents and adults paid $1.25. Love every visit there. Excellently maintained, very clean, and always a wonderful experience. Ticket costs are more today, but well worth it. Its an experience of cinema time travel. Thank you to all who are responsible for this wonderful gem in Middletown, New York
As you kid, I went to the Paramount almost every weekend with my brothers or my parents to watch a movie. Going today brought back a lot of good memories. In some way it has not changed and in other ways it is completely new. You must go back to see for yourself and enjoyed it like I did.
The paramount is the only place to see classic movies, they are the best and feature the mighty mighty Wurlitzer organ.
Went to see Alice in Wonderland sponsored by Hudson Valley dance center of Warwick. The theater was very nice, clean, and comfortable. There’s a parking lot across the street in which we were greeted by police officers helping us cross safely. We had a very positive experience.
I really appreciate the Aesthetics of the Paramount Theater. One of the nicest things is that it has regular seats. I really dont want to go to a theater and lay down and something is comfortable as a recliner, an overstuffed recliner, that makes me want to go to sleep. Also the Paramount Theater tends to have a more mature audience and there is no talking there are no cell phones and the focus is truly on the movie. Even the trailers are modest in length. I really enjoy it and their selection of movies!
Great old time theater with current movies and occasionally classics and live performances.
Seats are just OK but the $8.00 price and the old time charm makes this a decent low cost Theatre
Excellent show. A great time had by all like always
Workers were great and very helpful. We saw polar express, which was great and then Santa came out in the end and shook hands with some of the kids in the audience. The only reason why I didnt give it five stars is because the seats could be more comfortable and be roomier. Otherwise, as great place!
I dont get to go to the theater much the last time I went to the Paramount theater was for a celebration of my son receiving a certificate from school actually college. It seemed like a nice old theater and I know they have other events there and I hope that if I ever have any free time that I can go there one day.
Had a wonderful experience there recently. Been there multiple times in the past as well. Always clean. Friendly staff. Great prices for concessions too.
Love the old style charm that it has! And what is amazing is that now you can use your debit/credit instead of always having to carry cash LolBest part....30 minutes before the movie starts they have someone playing an old school Organ....breathtaking
Nice old fashioned theater. Good popcorn and fountain soda. Clean bathrooms too.
Great to see these claseic old movies on the big screen again!
Great theater. Welcoming staff. Clean, comfortable & roomy seats. Great Sound. Saw Bohemian Rhapsody & we felt like we were in the concert when the movie first started. Its the first movie we saw there & it will not be the last. In the past we have seen Nutcracker Ballet, George Carlin, Three Dog Night & other shows. We are Lucky to have this Gem in Middletown.
This was my first time in the theater. The staff was very friendly. This unique theater will transport you back to the a time that was much simpler. Although it is a historic building (1930s) it has been very well maintained. While you wait for your movie to start there is an against playing a functioning Wurlitzer pipe organ! This is by far the coolest theater Ive ever been to.
Loved the live music before the show.
Good shows at affordable prices.
I like this theater. Its an old restored theater in downtown Middletown. They have a parking lot just across the street so no problems parking. Its got the old seats with plenty of room. Its clean and never crowded. Has a small concession stand for goodies. I go there for the movies with my wife. Great find.
Wonderful theater with fair prices, love it
Beautiful grand old theater! Incredible restoration. The owners take such good care of it. Its like stepping back in time. So glamorous. Highly recommend!
The acoustics in this place are amazing definitely will see another show there the almost queen show was phenomenal highly recommend you bringing them back again
Nice small theater to see a show
Nice....My sister graduated as an Rn today....proud moment ....
The Paramount Theater is very clean! The screen is very large! The employees are very polite! The people attending the movies are fun to watch a movie with because they interact with the movie in an appreciative and respectful way! I rate this theater five stars because it provides the ultimate movie going experience!
Love going here cause it is like stepping back in history to a certain extent. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great schedule of events going. Lots of movies and concerts. Not a bad seat in the whole theater.
I really like coming here to watch The Polar Express.
Beautiful theater. I was a candy girl there in the 70s.
This place is awesome. Beautiful Broadway sized house. They were the only theatre in the area to play Ingrid Goes West, so kudos to them for programming indie and arthouse films, which we are in dire need of.
I went to a graduation here it was nice
An old fashioned theater with great sound system and a large screen. Watching movies there takes one back in time, in a good way. I know will keep on going there.
Beautiful structure. Historic.
Saw The Oak Ridge Boys in concert. Comfortable seating on the main floor. Good acoustics. Some inconsiderate fans were video recording in spite of announcements to the contrary.
Blast from the past. Great theatre, I go there just as much for the architecture as the movie.
It was awesome an old feel to going to the theater. Going again.
My husband loves to give me a good necking while sitting during the shows. Its worth going for that alone ladies.
Great show.. Orchestra from OCCC symphonic band!!
Beautiful old time theater with a very friendly staff
The best. Beats The Mall any day. A trip back in time.
Amazing pipe organ. Powerful blasts from the pipes blew the curtains aside.
Beautiful venue!
Kudos to the SUNY Orange Community Orchestra.
It brings back so many memories of time gone by!!! I just love when the gentleman comes in to play the Wurlitzer organ.
Great venue for sons College Awards Convocation.
Great place to watch s movie if you want to avoid the crowds at the mall.
Classic 1930 theatre showing classic and modern movies. Live organist before the show.
Good place for viewing a show
Went there for a dance recital....it was a really nice theater....popcorn smelled great!!
Cool old school theater. Went here during one of the movie festivals and it was nice. I havent watched on of the screenings for recent movies so I dont know if the sound in there would be better or worse than a regular movie theater.
Great space..wonderful employees ..price is right
Big theater.
Three Dog Night . Great show
Excellent film, Wind River, good sound and wonderful Wutlitzer organ and accompanist.
I always enjoy watching movies here. The theatre is beautiful and the prices are reasonable.
Nice venue
A rare gem. Lucky that we live so close.
Very nice, older building, but looks New inside.
Great local shows
Has a great old school look- I was just here for a ceremony but would love to come back for a show!
Nice old theatre. Big screen with proscenium arch and curtains!
Great venue for live shows, and afternoon matinees of classic, independent and first-run films.
Old but well maintained theater. Ok seats
Middletowns pride and joy as a historical building. Great live events as well.
Paramount Theatre though it does show movies most are what you might say are out of the mainstream and could be considered more docu-drama or maybe documentary, but then some have been with a religious overtone and sometimes for specific age groups. The Paramount Theatre was my theatre as a boy and my first movie at the age of 3-4 was Sleeping Beauty which at that age was fantastic! The theatre has long since been renovated and taken over by the Middletown Counsel of Arts. The theatre has had many very good personalities in all areas of entertainment and also put on many of the musical programs that showcased some of the local talent such as Jimmy Sturr of Warwick, Jermaine Paul of Monroe and even myself. We all have been performing in and around the County of Orange and all have been on the stage of the Paramount Theatre multiple times and love getting the chance to perform on that stage for our friends, relatives and the local audiences. The Paramount Theatre as I said was my introduction to the movies, its also the place where I saw my first TV personality Sandy Becker and Sonny Fox. When I was asked to sing with the Warwick Valley Chorale to join in with the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra and Singers, Jermaine Paul and Jimmy Sturr I counted myself Blessed and Thanked God for the Opportunity to be on that stage. May the Paramount Theatre Live Long and Prosper
Cool place. Movies, live stuff. Fun times
Stop in. Nice old theatre, charming.
Hated this place because they moved my seat and i was unable to see the stage from it. They did nothing to make it any better. The manager offered me a seat behind the sound mixers. No good.
Great place graduation !!!
