Nice little hometown theater. Concessions very reasonable priced. Very nice touch to have an employee open the doors for me, especially since I had a drink in one hand and popcorn. Nice clean comfortable theater. They even have the seats usually only found at huge theaters with the built in rotating arm rests with built in cupholders. The theater is also wider than traditional theaters, with many more seats which allows the viewer a wider selection of seats to choose without being too close to others. Ticket prices are super cheap as well. I highly recommend.

They did an excellent job restoring the place! Great concession stand. Atmosphere feels exactly how a movie theater should. The seats are comfortable volunteers were very nice and polite. This theater gives you an opportunity to see your favorite movies you might have missed in theaters the first time around. Oh and you cant beat the prices.

Love this place. Very vintage looking outside. Even inside has that old theater look to it. Ticket prices are fair and so is the concessions! Very shocked that it didnt cost an arm and a leg for some popcorn and a drink. Comfortable seating and very clean inside.

I always love The Plaza. It has such a good mix of 1st run, older movies, and indie films. Plus the people who run it love it and it shows. And there are so many cute places around it. I love going out for dinner around the Plaza and then catching a movie.

Went and saw a david lynch film here (eraser head). A lot of people came out for it. The theater is beautifully renovated. The restrooms are clean and they have really good popcorn! They also sell beer and wine in a cute cup that says plaza theater. The theater is a historical building with a lot of personality. If you love history like me youll love the nostalgic feeling when you step in. The theater plays a lot of older films for those that love old time films. They also do shows too. Enjoy

This is a great place to see a movie and they have the best popcorn at any of the theaters that my nephew and I have been to and weve been to quite a few!! My only concern is with the coronavirus concern that they arent monitoring the seating, I think they should have every other row taped off and obviously like they say at least 3 seats in between strangers! But yesterday I was there with no one around and then a guy sits directly behind me in the next row, who was coughing throughout much of the show, I did move down a couple seats once I noticed him there after the movie started. I think that youve done a good job with everything other than that! We still love your place but until I know thats changed I most likely wont be back around!

Ive brought my family here on 2 occasions, both times just a blast. Staff is outgoing and friendly, and theater is extremely clean. Will be returning.

Neat old theater with decent seats. Reasonable ticket prices, and cooler than what the Neon movies has turned into which just caters to the 50 and up crowd now. As far as art house theaters go, its the best in the area now.

I take my grandchildren here all the time. Nestled quaintly in the middle of our town, you can catch a movie and walk the heart of the city, enjoying dinner venues, desserts or just the beautiful and timeless scenery.

This is such a great place! We discovered this theater a few years ago and the whole family loves it. It has been recently renovated and is the cleanest movie theater I have ever been in. The staff have always been friendly, the tickets are reasonably priced, and the concession prices are great. It is nice to be able to take the kids to the movie theater without spending a fortune. It is also a nonprofit, which makes me feel even better about it. You can even volunteer for movie passes. We live 30 minutes away but prefer to go here versus the theaters that are closer. They play older classic movies to newer films. I definitely recommend this place.

The Plaza is the best kept secret in the Dayton metropolitan area. Beautifully restored historic theater that shows a combination of vintage classics a newer releases. Recently, it seems they are showing more new releases, which is awesome. Concessions are cheap and they carry some good beers. Personally, I would like to see them start showing indie and foreign films. Their ticket and concession lines can be a bit long so I would not wait for last minute. The staff is all volunteer, I think. They are super friendly and efficient.

Excellent little theater in nearly every way. My only slight quibble: The image on the screen needs to be just a tad brighter.Update: Back a week later to see John Carpenters The Thing. First color film Ive seen there. The image was so dark a lot of the film wasnt visible. Id like to patronize your theater. PLEASE get a brighter bulb in your projector.

Love going to the Plaza! Small, cozy, great value.

The place is nice and old, so I cant really complain as its pretty clean in there to. The workers are really nice (instead of making me miss my movie waiting for the card machine to go, she let us pay after the movie.)

Great atmosphere - theyve really done a nice job with remodelling. Concessions are dirt-cheap, compared with other theaters. My only complaint: A second register at the concession stand would be nice, to speed up the line. The Plaza Theatre has gotten very popular, especially for first-run movies, and the crowd in the lobby and in the concessions line can get pretty big, so be sure to arrive early.

I went there with a few friends and had a great time. People that work there are mostly volunteers and where very nice. The theater was nice and clean and the seats were comfortable.

Cozy and quaint. Staff is so friendly its like your guests in their home. Seats are extremely comfy. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. A true gem of the Burg. Im so glad they brought it back!

Great location, friendly staff

Saw The Greatest Showman in February. When we went to see it, they said that it was the first time it had sold out since it had reopened. Probably the best movie theater that Ive been in.

Great theater. They have only one screen, lower price than big theaters, play older movies and occasional new movies.

Got to see the Greatest Showman here. The theater seats are super comfortable and the staff is very nice. The popcorn is good too. Drinks are also available to buy. The price is awesome and I highly recommend this place to everyone! I also love that they bring older movies too. They were showing the Princess Bride the other day. Amazing!

We saw Dirty Dancing last night. A wonderful experience at a small town theater. If you havent been there you are missing one of the last places you can enjoy Americana at its best. Five dollar movie with delicious popcorn!

Went to see Labyrinth and it was pretty cool seeing it on the big screen. The place was nice, clean, the seats were comfortable and the concessions were reasonable. Will definitely be going back again to watch some old movies.

Fantastic theater with a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. The staff is courteous and helpful, and the facilities are great; not only for watching movies, but there is also a stage for live performances! I highly recommend checking them out if youre in the area for classic films of old, or newer releases that have just gone out of the big box theaters.

Went to see their viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. They provided props with the purchase of a ticket, and were very nice and accommodating to any questions. Its volunteer run, so I appreciate everything these people do and I will definitely return, even though its kind of out of the way for me!

Doug Sorrell has lovingly restored this theater (which was his familys tack store for decades, after originally being a theater) and its beautiful! The bathrooms have gorgeous decor, the theater has rich blue curtains along the sides and the seats are comfortable. A large bronze plaque at the entrance to the theater honors those who donated to the restoration. The Plaza shows old classic movies (we were there for Bullitt with Steve McQueen). The sidewalk out front has stars in it (similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame) honoring people who helped make this project a reality. Its a fun place to go and a real assert to Miamisburg Ohio.

Great family get together

Im very impressed with the restoration of this historic theater. Located in the heart of downtown Miamisburg close to many restaurants and shops. The projection system and sound system was better than expected. I cant wait to see more movies here. Were lucky to have this historic gem operational once again.

What a great small town theater!! The sound was incredible, with an immersive surround, and the screen is crisp and clear. It feels good supporting a local theater too, and the board of directors gave extra insight into the movie, making for a nice experience! At only $5 per ticket, you cant beat this amazing gem!!

I actually did not go to the Plaza Theatre! We visited another store in the area!

Wow what a discovery. A restored single screen theater that shows a mix of old classics, artful low budget and new movies. Inside the seats and interior decorations are more beautiful and classy than the new Spartan 14 plex theaters. Tickets run $5.00. Yes only 5. They have only one paid employee and volunteers. It is a historical building and its purpose is to attract viewers to Miamisburg who likely will eat or shop when visiting downtown. The theater based on customer feedback selects future films.
