My friend and I showed up and were the only ones there to our surprise. We thought they were going to say they were closed but to our surprise they were more than happy to have an audience and play for us as if it was a packed room. It was definitely the best experience I have had in 2020. Such an amazing pleace.

If you want to listen to real authentic JAZZ then this is the right place. It is in Downtown Miami with the tables and ilumination of a proper jazz bar, great sound but the piano a bit out of tune. Food is good standard and a good selection of beers from Italy and a variety of wines Service was very friendly and good. Is A perfectly cellar the type you can find in Paris or London.

If you want to travel back in time back to the 1930s golden jazz era, this is the place to go to. Le Chat Noir is located downtown in a place that might not be noticed during the daytime, but stands out like a glowing time machine in the night time.The entrance is subtle, yet it draws you in. When walking in the venue, youll find yourself with amazing taste for decoration (Which I will not describe because itll spoil the surprise.) There is a top floor where everyone eats and waits for musicians to prep. Once musicians are ready, you are brought down politely to this beautiful basement thats considered a listening room. Be very quiet! As owners and musicians take that room title seriously for good reason; who wants to listen to music over peoples loud conversations. In short, The venue is unique, amazing, staff is trained, food is amazing, wine selection is great and your night will not be disappointing. This place was super chill. The music was good and the service staff friendly and accommodating. Four stars because I did not eat AND there is no wine list. You must choose based on what they have on display. It was dark when we arrived and this negatively impacted our wine selection. Very tight basement space and you enter and exit in front of the stage. Very unpretentious, which is a cool bonus.

Le chat is the only oficial Jazz club in MiamiThey have jam sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday where musicians comes to perform and it’s free. In the weekends they have always great jazz artists Performing. They have good wines list and beers also they have Panini’s, Salads and some good appetizers. I love this place...

Le Chat Noir may be the only true jazz club in town. There are no poetry nights or film night s, just jazz. You may hear bosa nova one day and bebop the next. There is a wall of wine, a specialty, as well as some light food. Generally there is s 10 cover. The neighborhood is funky but Ive never had a problem. There is a bar upstairs and the club is in the basement, a rarity in Miami. I believe it was a bomb shelter from the Cold War sixties..

Nice environment, the have a Jazz style club in the basement. I was surprised to they had a basement in Florida. I’ve been two times now and the play a more island version of Jazz with steel drums. It’s an interesting take on Jazz which is a little different than what I’m used to, but it’s still nice and interesting to hear. I’ll be back for sure :)

Great environment. One of the closest experiences in Miami to being in a cozy downstairs joint you might find in NY. Very accommodating service, a very pleasant experience. My Friend and I werent enamored with their wine selection, but they really bent over backwards to find one my friend would like. Overall, with some improvement in the wine choices, Id bump it to 5 stars.

A magical place. The cellar at LCN is the hippest spot in the city...like something out of Paris or New York. Ive had the good fortune to visit as a listener and performer, and its just great. Its a true listening room where people come to hear the music. Great wines, beers, and eats.

As both a listener and a performer at Le Chat Noir, I have to say both experiences are wonderful and unique. Alexis and Ezzio are really amazing music ambassadors. They understand what jazz (and related music) means to American culture. It is vital...and they get it. The Listening Room downstairs is just for that, listening. And they are not afraid to remind patrons of that. Respect goes to the musicians, and having played there with my band and as a solo artist, I appreciate it.Then of course theres the wine and beers. LCN has a tremendous and eclectic array from all over the world. They also feature a nice selection of sandwiches, cheese and fruit plates, soups, and salads. Modeled on and connected to the original LCN in Paris, Miamis version is a rare gem and in my opinion the best place to see and hear jazz in South Florida.

The venue in itself is nice but they do try to overcharge you for drinks and food, other than that the music and environment is quite nice, for miami standards

Came late for some jazz. That night, it had a definite Latin flair. We had sparking red wine, and candlelit ambiance. Next time I need to try the food. Smelled wonderful.

Nice place for a night out. However, the staff needs to enforce a no cell phone policy for the rude patrons who inexplicably need to check Facebook or take pictures during a live musical performance. Disgraceful.

Best Jazz Club in Miami, hands down. The best in the bourgeoning local jazz scene and touring acts all come to perform here. This is a place run by great people who love live jazz music. Whether youre based in Miami or coming through town as a visitor, Le Chat should be on the top of your list of places to experience. Ezzio and Alexis, the owners, and the rest of the staff are very warm people that will show you a side of Miami that you will not experience elsewhere, however, always be mindful that the cellar is a listening room, not a place to talk loudly over the musicians while they perform. An occasional scolding may take place wherein youll find one of the owners will abruptly stopping the band to educate certain guests on proper listening room etiquette, its always very amusing and part of the experience! It also is a testament of how passionate they are about the music and how much they care for the artists that come there to perform. This place truly is a gem, they have a great selection of beer and wine too!

Hidden gem - a little out of the way, and not much to look at from the outside but this place is the real deal.Candle lit tables with a small corner stage hosting live jazz in a downstairs grotto with a wonderful wine selection (by the glass or the bottle) and a food menu that includes hors doeuvres gives this place all the feel of a real timeless jazz bar.A little pricey but still very reasonable, and an experience well worth the cost.

A cool jazz club (downstairs) and a bar (upstairs) where tonight the bartender quotes a happy hour drink at $4.50 and seconds later charges me $7.70, and the he walks back outside to join his friends smoking. Not impressed.

Ignore any negative reviews you have read about this place not sure if they went to the same place. This place was awesome. Kinda have the feeling of a speakeasy. Its perfect place to bring a date. Wine is served by the bottle and food was good. The best part was the ambiance of the place and the great jazz performer. Dont know about the other complaints but the owner was super cool. He even keep an eye out for my truck that was park out front on the street so we wouldnt get a ticket. Take from me go there. Reservation is a good idea. NOKS.

Let me start by saying that Im a jazz lover, however I also love spending quality time with my wife and friends.If you are going in a group, DONT GO THERE. Usually a group of 8 - 10 will make some noise while chatting.The staff says that its a listening room, but its accommodated to give you a feel for a gourmet cafe as well. First, they make you rotate your chair to face the musicians, leaving your food and appetizers behind you. Second, there is a GUY (probably the owner) yelling this is a listening room because they get annoyed if you talk. (And yes, it was your regular low chatting to show respect)I would categorize this place as a concert area not a place to eat, or enjoy in your friends company (even if all of them love jazz).Suggestions: exchange the low 4 person tables for 2 person high tables so it gives the desired feeling and a better view?Food its good and authentic, highlighting the flavors of different parts of Europe. Wines are carefully selected and almost out of a catalog. Jazz its amazing, a least the group that played that day. However everything else was so overwhelmingly negative that it really deserves 1 star.

You come to a jazz bar, expect to listen to jazz. Really listen. We dont have many places in South Florida that offer jazz, so when they are playing in the listening room, you gotta listen.Food is prepared well enough, and there is good wine selection.
