Visiting from Chicago good drinks. But disappointed after 2 hrs when told we had to give our table up. Not very nice after we were having good time and nice big tab for 4 persons. Shame on you
Ball & Chain should definitely be a stop on your list! Its a cool, shady haven from the hot sun during the day but both the courtyard patio and inside restaurant are equally appealing to dine in. There was live music in the afternoon and the food was yummy (though the prices were a touch higher than I would have thought but cheaper than South Beach for sure)That didnt stop us from coming back at night when the whole place comes alive with music, dancing, and performances! The courtyard had a large pineapple stage with a great band. Inside we were wowed by a killer duo on the bar with sparklers and confetti poppers. All I have are Snapchat videos which I cant post to this review but 10/10 recommend :)
Small venue but means your close to the performers. Was front section but by wall and didnt feel crowded or over whelmed. Staff was nice and friendly...lots of stairs so be prepared. Would come back again for a small show.
Outstanding meal and great setting. Weve found a return food stop!!!
Happy Hour from 4-7pm 2 for 1 drinks. Appetizer menu needs some sprucing up otherwise nice venue to visit.
A great staple of Miami night life. This particular Wednesday woman drink for free until 10 pm. Crowded as anyone would imagine. Karaoke on the back patio was entertaining . I was surprised the bar and dance club closes at 12. Tourists trap comes to mind. The drinks were from 10- 15 each and the Cuban sandwich was around 8.
This Cuban restaurant & bar is highly suggested when your exploring Little Havana. They have such a great atmosphere; very cultural and you can really feel the richness of their culture and they have live bands playing amazing cultural music.Ordered few drinks, quesadillas and this unique homemade fried plantain. I love eating plantain fritters but never seen this type of presentation.
A taste of old Miami and little Havana wrapped in a time capsule. Service is awfully slow and they forgot our food order. Drinks were just okay but with tax and tip on the expensive side for the area. Too touristy for a return visit for us.UPDATE: Got an invitation to return and SO GLAD we did. Perhaps our first visit was an off day, because yesterday was fabulous. The drinks were top rate and Jessica was an outstanding host. We sat at the back bar and enjoyed the music and the hospitality. The food was excellent. We both enjoyed the Cuban Spring Roll with a tasty mustard aioli. I especially liked the B&C tacos with micro cilantro, spicy aioli and pineapple slaw. Definitely going to keep the Ball and Chain Miami in our rotation. Stop by and ask for Jessicas station, shes great!
An incredible historical club / restaurant. When you look at the pictures on the walls, you will see how many famous musicians played there over the decades. Live music at all times while we were there and good food as well as interesting drinks. We all really had a good time. Also, wandering around Calle Ocho just outside makes the experience even better. A little bit of Havana in Miami.
This club is one of my favorites since I moved to Miami. Everything is 5 stars here - atmosphere, people, service, food, music. You come in here and all you want to do is celebrate life. It is more of a dance club, but you will be pleasantly surprised, when you order food here. Everything from snacks, to mains and even dessert will be very tasty ( and I, really picky and like only good, gourmet food). So skip pricey and bad service places at South Beach and come enjoy some local fun at Ball & Chain!!! And for B&C personnel, keep it up guys, God bless you!!! P.S. Oh, and that pineapple stage with live music, it is something!!!
Great atmosphere and gorgeous sunny back patio. Would have enjoyed to be there while entertainment was going. Drinks were really tasty. Mojitos that were muddled just right without pulverizing the mint into little bits. A little more flavour in them would be better though. We just stopped by for a drink so no comment on the food. Staff was friendly and attentive. Recommended for anyone passing through little Havana.
This is one of the best pasta restaurant Ive been at,The food was good and cheap, the service was friendly, but the wait times were long and seating was very limited, other then that its a good restaurant 5/5
Ambience is good, in Little Havana, we were hoping for Cuban music, but music they play lacks characteristics, dont know what category it is. It is loud and dull. Food is good, a simple sandwich is $9, drinks are small although fairly priced at $9 because there is live music. Final bill has a 4% SERVICE fee, does that mean service staff get a better salary and dont make tips? It is not a custom in the USA. Then there is a 15% tip added onto bill, although our bartainder deserves more, since there is a SERVICE charge, we did not tip more.
This is one of my favorite spots to go out to in Miami.I have never eaten here but the food looks decent.I feel the real reason is that it is a place to see great local Miami dancers, of all ages, and listen to incredible live music. It has a fun indoor and outdoor space. Both have live music throughout the day.The drinks here a very tasty too.If you’re looking for a fun night out, go here.
This one of best restaurants we ate in Miami the service was great the food was tapas sharing and very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fun and vibrant. This is open air restaurant so ceiling fans are on but we were very comfortable. When we come back we will eat here again.
Nice place with show program and theater. Authentic Cubans coffee. Service is out. We didn’t get menu. And we didn’t get water for 30 minutes waiting. Sucks. We payed cash and didn’t receive cash back. They was thinking that it was tops for that kind of service.
Came in for Happy Hour (4-7) which had buy one get one free drink specials. $12 for two cocktails (12 oz.) is a good deal in Miami. Between us, we tried 4 different ones. The live band was awesome, but the service was slow and not really friendly.
The food was amazing! I had the Cuban sandwich, my friends had the quesadilla and a burger. We all tried each others food any everything was good. They featured live jazz inside. Theres an outdoor area that was very comfortable and they have a large stage shaped like a pineapple that was pretty cool.
Great place to go and dance with your partner and with friends. They have an outside area were they have a live band on the weekends. You can also enjoy the inside and have some food with drinks. Its a nice ambiance and great place to have a good time.
Nice Cuban/Latin bar in the Little Havana district of Miami. The atmosphere was great with lots of attention to details making one seem like they were in 1930s Havana. The back patio features a giant pineapple band-shell/stage and plenty of room to dance. The drinks selection is extensive and well thought out. The crowd is well heeled and energetic. Overall a good experience.
Nice frozen mojito -hat try when you’re in town!
This place is on every list of things to do in Little Havana, and for good reason! I felt like I was down in the Caribbean in and old fashioned Cuban bar. The vibe was great with the open front and back. Easily the best mojito I ever had. Out back is a gorgeous patio with a stage for live music. Just be careful - the tables are reserved!
Always lively with music to dance not just evenings but daytime as well. However I like to order white sangria but everytime I order its a different drink. No consistency. But atmosphere is nice.
Afternoon Saff unattentive. Good care less we were there. Tried rush us out of our seat. No idea what the problem was. Must have been in some VIP seat
Food is really amazing here!We just had the pork tacos, the fried cheese and the fried rice balls! Great service!
Went to this place after eating. Was told this was an iconic place. Was wonderful inside. Like other reviews we got 2 cocktails at 12 dollars a piece. Was then charged 30 dollars and then asked for tip onscreen. Why even advertise 12 dollar cocktails. Just say whatever we feel like charging you.
Latin live music spot on a Saturday night. Lively, fun, dancing crowd. People of all ages were there having a blast. The interior decor felt like old Cuba. So cool and would definitely recommend!
Loved the outdoor patio and band shell. Food was tasty and spicy! Service was good. Drinks seemed a little weak. There on Sunday evening Jazz. Several bands.
This place is awesomely outrageous! Great jazz in the afternoons, then kicks it up with salsa, Latino, dancers and various bands outdoors. The clientele are All ages from 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70 and above. Everyone intermingled. The younger were very respectful of the elders. They all danced with each other FUN FUN FUN!!! Drinks and food are delicious!!!
Went there with good friends from The Netherlands, as they wanted to dance Salsa and feel Miamis Latin spirit. They and we loved it.Live music, great ambience, multicultural audience, dance under the stars in the beautiful back patio.
This location is in little Havana area..We went to listen to music during the happy hour..The employees are helpful ordering items from the menu..Most speak Spanish!! The Food prices are affordable.Theres a Outdoor sitting area for Smoking.
Great food, I was really not expecting this quality. We had almost everything on the menu queso frito, tacos, quesadillas, chicken wings, French fries. Every single item on this list was amazing. The ambience is okay, we went on a Thursday. The DJ put good music but I was expecting some live salsa group. I recommend it for big group of people if you do a prior reservation because there are not many tables. I didn’t like the vibe inside but the patio is the place to be.
Interesting and vibrant atmosphere but slow service. Bachata lessons didn’t start on time so we left. Cocktail options were nice. Back porch seating is set up like there’s a show even when there is not so finding areas to sit will likely require you to share a table with strangers which may or may not be your thing.
Great atmosphere and really great music. Definitely worth going to if you enjoy dancing.
We just had drinks here. Good service and good taste. The ambience is super lovely inside - they have a backyard kind of place where they play live music. Comfortable cozy seating amidst flora and fauna. Loved it.
Nice vibe and outside seating. Limited menu selections. Great staff.
A great place with live music and dancing. There is no cover charge but drinks are a bit pricey. The atmosphere is brilliant, there are two spaces, one inside and one outside, with jazz and salsa music and a lot of people dancing. The bands playing there during my visit were very good. All in all a recommended place to enjoy a night of partying.
This is a touristy restaurant in the heart of Little Havana and it is a happening. Real good Cuban sandwiches! Good atmosphere that reminds you of Cuba. They have various goings on here as well as a Happy Hour 4-7 weekdays
Ball and Chain is good restaurant with good ambience and the live music was good too. Try out the Mojito.
My wife & I stopped for happy hour drinks while enjoying a day trip to Miami . The bartenders were quite enjoyable . Cesar was very pleasant & knowledgeable . We had a fantastic & intelligent conversation . We had such a great time we were sad to leave . We will be back on our trip back to MIAMI .
Great staff and great vibe we had the Ropa Vieja, Mariquitas and a Cuban sandwich and its 10/10 very good food and nice music variety. It was very busy so be prepared to wait
Great live music, delicious cocktails and incredible food. The staff is super friendly as well. This spot is a must go during a visit to Little Havana.
Just a really feel good place that boosts the positive vibes in all of us. Great service and smiles, yummy appies and never lets me down when I take guests there.
I really enjoy my time there. It is really like the movies...everybody is dancing, having fun. Drinks are pretty decent. I havent tried the food, but if you like to eat something..you definitely can. There is patio outside, but most of the fun is inside. Street parking available. Great place to go after dinner and have some fun.
I like the design of the bar. It us like getting into an old movie... then the live jazz and sometimes ethnic music g you forget for a moment that youre in Miami.Surprisingly, the food is good, served as a tapas style, si it is fun to share many plates. This place is one of my two favorites in Little Havana.
Ball and chain is good to dance Latin music. Entrance is free and you can enjoy live music too. Good option for weekend nights!!!
Good vibe and decent food. The live bands are good, but the music piped in is great. Dozens of photos of jazz and Latin legends grace the walls.
The atmosphere is great. Being a historic place gives it a cool vibe. I like to go Sun night for salsa dancing. Parking is easier and its not as crowded. Good crowd. Mature people passionate about dancing.
Ball & Chain is a must if youre ever in Miami! Youll feel like youre in the Caribbean while youre here. The vibe here was great. This is where I had one of the best mojitos I tried in years! Be sure to reserve ahead of time as it can get pretty packed on weekends!
Cool ambiance, great drinks and food! Jazz band was excellent!
I really enjoyed this place. The food was simple yet tasty! In the heart of little Havana and done up to a really good standard. Interior design is on point and really looks authentic. They had an awesome band playing in the middle of 5he afternoon, I really felt as if I could have been in Cuba!, Finally the cocktails were delicious and competitively priced.
Really cool history. Alot of jazz legends have played here over the years. Great mojito!!! They had a good live jazz band playing when we went as well. Cool pineapple stage on the back patio. They also have misting fans which is awesome on a hot day. Nice bathroom as well.
I love the back patio. The bar menu is limited but fairly priced. Theres also free salsa lessons on Thursday night around 9: 15pm
Very nice place to visit
Carlos!!! What a great bartender. He took care of us and lets us know so much about the area. The live jazz music was a bonus to the day.
This is a cool place to get a drink and listen to music. DJ up front and live in back when we were there.
Best time ever! Good Food, Great Service, Great Entertainment. Not Family Friendly.
Jazzy, old world ambience, delicious modernized Cuban traditional dishes, and great cocktails. Love the history of the establishment and the excitement of live music. Will definitely visit again when in Little Havana!
Great ambient. Live music, great selection. They have an open inside courtyard where you can have a cigar or two. Prices are reasonable and waiters are nice. Opens late. Highly recommended
Sat in the back area enjoyed some many Latin beats
Great atmosphere and very authentic setting in the heart of little Havana. This place has so much history. However on my 4 stars as was really disappointed with there signature cocktail the Mojito!! It was not well balanced and just tasted like minty water. Overall was still good fun
What an amazing and historic venue! Drinks are fantastic! A spot not to be missed.
Lovely atmosphere, good cocktails and live music. Had a stop with the Miami Culinary Tours. Great experience....
Very disappointed. $61 a or 4 basic drinks and told we couldnt sit at table with a Latino friend. PREJUDICIO not welcoming to gringos. Horrible treatment.
Came here for drinks. Now this restaurant knows how to service its guests! Wish we had lunch here instead. I think it was the manager who brought us to our table and he said he would take care of us. Even if it was drinks, he was awesome! Love the live music so if I ever come to Little Havana I would come here again!
If you are ever in Miami, this place is a MUST! You will not regret it. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to dance all night to beautiful music from the island!
Really love this place! The great atmosphere, live music, entertainment, and delicious cocktails, makes it the perfect space to enjoy the real Miami vibes that many visitors seek. Where youre at master dancer or have never dare, this is a great place to let the music flow and let it guide your moves!
Great place to dance Salsa. We had a great time. Live music with an incredible good environment
Fantastic Miami experience great food drinks and music. The staff and service is execellent. The have live music and a beautiful outdoor space as well
Love the old Havana vibe. Live music, mojitos, and bites were good. The patio is beautiful, would opt for that!
You wont see the part shown on the pictures unless you step inside and pass the bar for the marvelous backyard. It is a backyard like a paradise island! Drinks are being served with a special touch and if you’re lucky, you’ll enjoy a dance show (artistic)
Outdoor patio is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice but the DJ inside and the band outside were playing the same type of music. At least have some more up to date music playing inside. Food was delicious and employees were friendly.
Great place for music and atmosphere. They are always having bands or dancers and they love to involve the crowd. We always have a good time at this place.
Amazing place, a must see when you come to Miami! Great cocktails, live music is awesome, especially outside on the famous pineapple stage. Never had food yet but it looks good!
What an amazing place!!!!! This was a place that had been recommended in books and so I was a little skeptical if whether it would be over hyped. It definitely wasn’t. I really loved the atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. We had a few cheeky cocktails and as it was a nice day, we sat out at the back in the sun with a large parasol and just chilling, chatting and enjoying what little Havana had to offer. I loved it! And recommend this place!!
Excellent music and ambiance a at any time but best at nighttime specially on weekends.Latin Jazz. Live latin orchestras. Cold beers with good selection. Food good
The venue itself was cool, I liked the 2 different areas with different music. Drinks were good and waitress attentive. However my 2 stars is because the actual people that go there are very rude and entitled. No one has any manners it seems. I was being elbowed and pushed the entire time when a simple excuse me would suffice but again the people that go there have no manners. 1 hour there was enough for me to never want to go back which sucks because the music and venue was good.
My friends and I had a blast here and it was not even during prime time. The drinks were great and our bartender was phenomenal. I want to go back and experience it in its full glory.
It was my 1st time in Little Havana and I must say this was a great spot to visit for my 1st time. Everyone from the host to the bartender was super kind and inviting. The building it self has such great charm and character with a story to tell.We all had the corn, and Im not a fan of but I must say this was amazing. I also had their Cuban sandwich. It was good, I would recommend a different roll. I prefer a hardier roll personally. Oh and great drinks!
Little Havana is amazing and a must see when visiting Miami even only for a couple nights like us. The decor here is amazing. Make sure to come from 4-7pm for half price cocktails, wine and beer! Live music too!
Great food and out door seating. The manager George and staff were very lovely. Amazing.
Goog food best mojito ever, an island of relaxation amongst the throng of tourists.
The good food, atmosphere and ambience unfortunately didnt make up for the absolute worst service.Visited the place because of the historical significance in the Litttle Havana area.Had to remind and prod to bring Silverware and Water. My buddy had to wait a long time to get a simple drink. The hostess never made note of a single thing, she asked us what the drink was again. It was not just our table, the one next to ours had the same problem, who ended up calling the manager and they were appeased by handing a round of shots. The only thing which was quicker tonight was the transaction of me handing my credit card and getting it back.I hope they up their level of service, people visit here from out of state and they should not leave with a bad experience.
Awesome mojitos, delicious food, fun vibes!!! Best place to visit in Little Havana
I was actually at azucar. Ball andchain is a Venice old world vibe. No dancingthanks to Corona.
I thought it would just be a tourist experience to visit Ball and Chain but the history is quite tangible and the people who frequent this place, particularly the seniors still have that old Latin flavor. The music is nothing like you would experience except in Latin America or the Latin neighborhoods in America. People are also really friendly.
One of the best places I visited in Little Havana. Live music was great and the food was very good as well
Very good music, loved the back area
Great music and so much dancing. Went two nights on a row when I went on vacation.
So much fun! Earlier in the evening there is jazz music outside on the pineapple stage that makes for a very lovely evening. Around 7 or 8 they shift the mood to something a little livelier by teaching some basic salsa moves. Then the party starts and it turns into a full blown salsa club. Mojitos are pretty good, and they have happy hour drink specials. I havent tried the food yet
Such a fun place to eat. Live entertainment.
So much funnnnnnn! Went on a Wednesday night for karaoke. Super chill crowd!!! Looooved the bar and the atmosphere! I’m Latin, so obviously this place was meant for me ️️️️️
Food, drinks, & atmosphere. Missed a star because we were waiting for this evenings vibe/show we heard about. Turns out it was a private show, and there was no warning about. Killed about 2-3 hours there a got moved from our spot.
So Crowded on Thursday afternoon “salsa time” that the only reason anyone was there was to tell somebody else “I was there.”A band was playing, but you could tell only by looking. I cane for music. The “ambience”: super-loud crowds ignoring the music.
