Amazing place. Down to earth. NOT a yacht club! The best sailing program.
I spent two days at the CGSC attending the keelboat course pre-certification. Everybody seems to be really nice and the instructors were fantastic. Looking forward to spend way more time there.
Family Treatment!!Highly recommended
Always clean and the service is great! There are a lot of activities for kids.
Great club. Great people.
My kids number one choice for summercamp experience. !!! They love spending the day in the ocean learning how to sail after a few hours of theory lessons in the morning and hands on practice in the afternoon. From 8-4pm. Profesional, kids friendly and very knowledgable about sailing. However, there is room for improvement:1. Kids Security during Pick up hours. The pick up time is not very secure in terms that anybody can take your kid with you.2. SupervisorsThe kids’ supervisors, that are young-adults, should be train to take care of the kids in terms of hydration and in re applying sun-block in the middle of the day. some younger campers 6,7 year old ones, are still learning to take care of themselves in regards to sun protection and come with their faces sun burned.3.Customer ServiceAnother room for improvement is the bar upstairs “only for members policy.” when you are bringing your kids to the camp they could at least let you buy food even more if you are willing to pay! The manager of the restaurant is not very customer-oriented in his manners towards “no-members.” With that attitude not sure if they will ever have new members willing to register. Anyways, hopefully they will improve their customer service.
I dont know why it took me 20 years to find this sailing club.Ive sailed out of other clubs which seemed to be more interested in salsa dancing or just dining. At the Coconut Grove sailing club it seems everybody sails, from optis to one design to large yacht regatta sailing. And they have the best live music anywhere in Miami on Friday nights!
If you sail then youve found your club.
CGSC is THE best of Miami. I was a member and mooring holder at CGSC for a few years (but have now moved to the West coast). I felt welcomed and at home from the moment I joined. Missy is a fantastic dockmaster and phenomenal human being. Juan is a wealth of knowledge, and fastidious protector of our boats through storms and all. Lauren and Jesse are incredibly responsive and professional and keep the club in good financial shape. All of the launch drivers are friendly and always willing to lend a hand or give advice (Adolpho in particular comes to mind). The educational and social opportunities are abundant. The general atmosphere (kids, families, regattas, cruisers, salty dogs) is really special and, in my experience, very unique in South Florida. If you are looking for a community of sailing enthusiasts, CGSC is the place for you (and your family)!
Best venue in town, amazing view!
It is sad to see Coconut Grove Sailing Club head down the wrong path.Commodores that have not been part of the sailing club do not know its true values, beliefs, and cores. As well as changing the Commodore policy for some sleezebag. At every club you must own a boat. It is sad to see that they do not implement that anymore. The man running the youth program is ruining it. Surprisingly they are letting someone that got fired from SailLaser back in the day for safety reason, and who does not even hold a Bachelor’s Degree run it. Coconut Grove Sailing Club is a US Sailing Accredited School yet they do not follow US Sailing protocols of having one US Sailing certified instructor per seven students. They should not falsely advertise. The people running dock staff that have never been around boats and/or who are not friendly ruin the atmosphere. The list goes on. If you want to join a sailing club that does not have drama, values their members, DO NOT JOIN CGSC.
Nice atmosphere
Best sailing, best sailors, best sailing club on the bay.
Best sailing club in Coconut Grove
Great place to learn to sail or just enjoy the view with a cold drink from the bar upstairs. Ive been coming here since I was a kid (over 40 years now) and I still love it.
Very convivial, Smart sailers willing to share info and tips. For a club bar, really good food with a great view (for members).
This is one the very few affordable ways of enjoying the water in Miami, particularly in #coconutgrove !The laid back and down-to-earth ambiance is a plus. The club teaches members -of ALL ages- of the community how to sail and they also have kayaks and small sailboats for the club members to rent at a discounted rate. The kitchen and bar have limited hours of operation.Great music and the food has improved dramatically!
The focus is Sailing ! with excellent youth and adult programs and access to your boat on a mooring and club boats for building sailinig skills. This club is sailing and social - reasonable and friendly - with many social activities for all ages
This is a hidden gem in The Grove. Highly recommended. Nice people. Affordable.
Laid back and beautiful. Gets packed at peak hours, but its the best view in town. Become a member!
Havent eaten here but the view was amazing. The view alone sold me
A simple club for those who love to sail, not show off
AirBNB + Sailboat = A great time! Didnt spend much time at the sailing club itself, but it was fine for the most part.
Great sailing school with best instructors
Amazing place
Great place!
Great food selection at the restaurant
