Miami Lakes Optimist Park

COVID 19 Update-On a Sunday morning around 11:30am - park is fairly empty. Parks like this that previously would have been packed with spectators and participants are now commonly vacant including this labor day weekend. Great park for the community to use with lots of fields for different sports including soccer and baseball. Nice path to walk on the outside perimeter. It was nice to see a few people up and about walking in the warm rays of Floridas Sun.

Great Park for Recreational Sports, and Activities for the Kids.

Its a nice park in a nice area. Courts for basketball and wide open fields. Lots of lighting at nighttime. Shops and restaurants are very nearby.

A beautiful area. Very well kept. I thought the park was clean and safe.

The playground, sitting areas and gazebos are all yellow taped, so you will not be able to enjoy those. However, the walkways and field areas are open for cycling and walking or maybe even picnicking. The children had an amazing time playing around with the iguanas and riding their bikes. It is a very peaceful and beautiful park, the lake is a huge plus. Restrooms are kept spotless and well stocked and the staff is always extremely attentive and courteous.

Nice scenic park. A running trail also. Tennis courts in ok condition.

Lots of trees around and next to a lake makes it pleasant. Its not located in front of any street or road, therefore zero traffic or noise from around, rather its next to a large green area and a baseball field. Playground itself is very nice and on the larger side comparing to most.

I have been to this park a bunch of times to see my nephew practice baseball and play games there. He has a good time there and I know he has fun doing so. The park itself is a big size with multiple baseball fields to play sports in. Very nice and friendly environment as well. Never had a problem with this park!

Nice park, but whoever is running it, that person has no manners, no respect. Even though the group i was with was practicing social distancing while conducting some training.

Very clean place, it has tennis, basketball courts, baseball fields. Recommended for walking!!!

No basketball ball? Rims are covered. I am displeased.

Nice well kept fields for soccer, baseball and football. Basketball courts have some light but not much. Overall a nice park to visit if you want to practice your sport with a buddy.

We play here as an away team (Optimist baseball). The fields are ok, but the seating for fans and parents has no cover so it can get really hot during the day.

Went for a kid birthday party. The playground is very nice next to a green space and it is at a cul de sac. The area is windy, which is perfect. No overheating.. Definitely, would come back.

I grew up playing on these fields. Now, I coach my kids flag football. I love Miami Lakes and our parks.

Great place to take your kids, you can play softball or baseball is big park also there is place for the kids.

This is a nice park with a walking path. The playground is pretty nice but there isnt a water fountain, which is a huge miss in Miami. There might be one inside the club center but it was closed when I was there at 1pm.

Very nice park with many cool obstacles. Also really good for partys!

This place is great. My husband and my son are always here for baseball so I take advantage of the nice walking path. It also has a nice stand where you can buy cafecito (coffe) and small bites. Truly a good park for baseball as they have batting cages as well.

Nice park with well maintained baseball fields and a concession stand. Batting cages and basketball courts are also available. Not much shade, so if youre going to watch a game on a sunny day be sure to bring an umbrella.

Park was fantastic. There were artists performing all around. Park was clean but full of small dogs but that was ok. We had fun enjoyed picnic here. Northern area of park was somewhat not cleaned but that doesnt matter a lot because people usually dont go to that side. It was all good. I will give 5 star for cleanliness.

I love running on the weekend there. Plenty of shade from trees.

I really like taking my son to this park. It is always clean & being that it is right on the water, there is usually a nice breeze. Ive taken my son there since he was 2 & now that hes 8, this is still one of his favorites.

Very clean park. Has more areas for baseball than anything else but also included a basketball court and a nice canal view plus an area for the kids to play. Clubhouse is very well maintained. Definitely kid friendly.

This park is awesome. One of the only parks left that doesnt have a fence around it to make you have to pay to use the park. Miami Lakes is an awesome place to live.

The Optimist Park in Miami Lakes offers ample space for games, baseball, soccer, track and field. It is also used for many Town of Miami Lakes events, in particular the Relay for Life which donates proceeds to the American Cancer Society. At all hours, we drive by and see residents taking advantage of this great green space offering, exercising and socializing as Miami Lakes continues to grow beautifully.One treasure behind the park, adjacent to the canal / lake, is Miami Lakes Marina, a place where to enjoy fishing.

It isn a bad park, it just needs some serious upgrading. The fences to the baseball fields need to be replaced. It is dangerous when your child plays baseball and they go running to get ball by the fence the fence spikes pointy part is rusty and sticks out that the child can get cut really bad. I am hoping they start fixing the fences for the childs safety. But all in all it isnt a bad park, family oriented a new clubhouse was built and they hold lots of sports events.

Awesome, place I love spend time there!!

You can do tons of fun sport activities.You can also bring any type of pet. I always go there at 4:30-5:00pm and the sunset looks marvelous.If you go there early in the morning like around 8:00 am you can see the seagulls and the birds!!

Hot afternoon watching the grandchildren play. Nice equipment, safety flooring, added a playing field.

Cool baseball fields just no true place to keep cool when watching the games.

It is SO AMAZING AT NIGHT.

Wanted to get into the park to fish, but the gate was locked. It was a number on the gate to call if you wanted to get in at certain times, I called and called but it kept saying this person has a mail box that have not been set up.

Well kept park managed by the city of Miami Lakes and open to the public daily.

Baseball park thats hosted quite a few kids over the years. I started over 10 years ago.

The first day I went with my family, my sister in love car was open and stolen things from in it.

It has space for multiple sports and good for working out

It has a lot of land is near a school very close to main street and is in a nice area

Great park provided it doesnt rain. It floods 100% of the time even with light rain. Good restrooms and vending machines.

Very Large sports complex. Grounds are nice. Only available bathrooms were port-a-potties.

Its nice alot of field, close to shopping center, places to eat

AT&T carrier haven a poor signal in the park. Everything else its fine
