Went to the restaurant several years ago while in Miami and the food was phenomenal. We went out of our way to go again while on a trip to the Florida Keys. Their menu had changed for the worse. Ordered the steak and it tasted like it was cooked in a pan that just had fish cooked in it. Side dishes were so over seasoned with fancy seasoning that they were not even good. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. Throw on top the service charge and the resort fee they charge we will not be coming again.

I like to find new places for drinks and cool places to hang so I landed at Clevelander South Beach Hotel and Bar. Very cool vibe, nice place for drinks, dig the decor. Bartenders were very nice. Id definitely come here again with a bunch of friends.

His little piece of Brazil is like a oasis in the big city. When faced with the need for a room close by to a speciality veterinary hospital for a course of therapy for my little dog, I found Villa Brazil. Wow. Not only was it clean, comfortable, affordable AND pet friendly, it literally saved my dogs life. It felt like home, provided my little pup a safe haven to heal and be exposed to a lovely outdoor area.The family who owns this have such pride in the property, and the bring back the true meaning of genuine hospitality . Simply put, they are lovely. And if that wasnt enough, they run a wonderful Brazilian restaurant attached to the motel that is open EVERYDAY and serves wonderful food.The rooms here all have kitchenettes with coffee maker, microwave, under counter refrigerator and a table to eat on. Every room has a small desk to work at. The bed was incredibly comfortable. There is a nice breeze that comes thru the property and windows that open on both side of the room cool down the room with fresh air. If that isnt enough, all rooms have air conditioning and heaters. I had a lovely basket of fruit in my room upon check in.The patio area is planted with lovely plants and is swept clean several times a day. At night, tea candles are lit to add to the ambiance.If you dont love your stay here, no worries. That leaves more available rooms for those of us that know we hit the jackpot in finding this place!!

Cool hotel on the beach. Drinks are what you expect to pay at the beach lol. I honestly thought rooms would be bigger. Nice lounge bar area. Location is perfect. Had a few drinks with friends and we all thought drinks could be mad stronger. Also 1 drink was like 22. Which is way over priced. But hey its all good. this place is jumping at night. cool crowd

I didn’t stay at the hotel but I ate the food and it’s awful the service is awful as well. The server added chicken when I didn’t want it but that’s fine I tried it anyways the chicken tastes like straight up tuna, she didn’t ask if everything was fine I paid 50$ for a drink and an app that I didn’t even like. Just awful

This hotel really gave us that Miami feeling, we were only a stones throw away from the beach, we were swallowed by that warm evening air, and we had drinks at our service. Slightly pricier than some establishments around, but if you dont mind spending that extra few dollars, its worth it. They had a DJ with a dance area, and being spring break, plenty of fun was had.

The property is retro . Super outdated. Don’t hope for amenities there are NONE. The party is fun. But the problem is... it never stops. The music I don’t think stops until about 5am. You will absolutely not be able to sleep. Food is lackluster and drinks are over priced. The manager is none existent and the employees refuse to call her for additional assistance. Never again will I stay. Best to drop by for a pregame. Not family friendly.

Awesome place to dance. You will not find any other place like this in South Miami Beach. Huge open space with great music welcome you to enjoy the moment. Drinks was good and stuff was very nice. Probably this is the only American bar in South Beach

Our oceanfront room had painting equipment in it when we arrived. The room was so small so we were excited when they upgraded us to the Rockstar suite, but we were not prepared to be directly over the DJ booth. We had base shaking and loud music to deal with our entire stay until 4am ish each morning. Great for young spring breakers but we are not about that party life so it sucked. Continental breakfast was average but good. Staff was very friendly. The location is ideal you walk out to everything at your fingertips but just be ready to stay up everyday if you stay at this hotel.

Would highly recommend this place. Great service, food and DJ. To top it off when youre done there you can walk across the street to Miami Beach. Shrimp tacos were amazing!

I enjoyed my stay in Miami Beach. The location was in the heart of Ocean Drive . Close to all of the stores and the beach. I didn’t like that our room was directly by the elevator and the room was a little cramped. But hey it was sleeping and fun. My man had an awesome birthday weekend and we will be returning.

Impeccable service every time we visit. Domingo was on top of the entire stay and always goes the extra mile in providing excellent customer service. Will be referring future clients and be a returning client myself for many times to come!

On a Saturday afternoon, theres no better place to be in South Beach than the Clevelander. The pool party is always a great time. The newly redesigned food menu has some fantastic new items on it with some healthy options too if thats what youre looking for. The food and drink prices are standard for South Beach. Always a great time down here

Its the fun place to be! You can sit and eat/ drink while watching the Ocean Dr. strip. They also had a live DJ, host and models/party girls. Its a very lively atmosphere and came in handy when the pop-up rain showers came through. The down side is the extra taxes and charges. Every place on the strip automatically adds a 15-18% gratuity but they also have extra taxes here so you end up paying an extra almost 30% on top of your bill. Just a heads up.

Overall great stay. Cannot say enough about the amazing service at this hotel. Joel at the front desk helped us on several occasions. Super professional and super sweet. He honestly made out stay that much greater. Management should definitely recognize him for this! The rooms are clean and bright. Showers and toiletries are luxurious. The full beds were comfortable, but could be larger for two people. We enjoyed tanning on the sun deck at the Clevelander. We also enjoyed the pools at their sister property The Stiles. There were AMAZING drinks at the bar downstairs. They also offered a free continental buffet in the morning for breakfast. The staff all over the property were really great. The location is directly across from the beach. There are several places to eat or visit in the surrounding neighborhood. Only con: if you like quiet at night, book a room that doesn’t face the pool. This hotel is known for their nightly “club” by the bar/pool, which includes a DJ and/or live performances. We were able to sleep through it, but some people are more sensitive to sound. Maybe you’ll be down there enjoying it!

Let’s just say this property photographs way better than it actually appears. Quite the disappointment. The rooms are tiny. Our floor was ice cold. The “amenities” to not available. And don’t even get me started about the pool. If you want to sit in something the size of a hot tub and lay out around a bunch of drunk people than this is your place! 10 out of 10 would not recommend.

Stay here only if you are a party animal. Servers do their absolute best. Rooms are decent, not the best/spacious. They dont have a gym which was the only disappointment.

What a happening place! You may think its Highly Questionable but it has a great atmosphere at the perfect location!

I wanted to come here because this is where they shot some of the episodes of Jersey Shore (as bad as that might sound) but what a great time it was! I asked for a special drink and they made it for me. They are always doing special events and fun things throughout the day. They gave my boyfriend a free drink for his birthday, which he really appreciated. He lovessss cigars and they even had girls walking around selling Cuban cigars. Great time!

Stayed at this hotel with a big group of friends we had an amazing time everything was great our rooms are nice and clean has a big bar and pool area. Amazing location right in front of the beach in world famous South Beach.

Hotel: Near the beach, night life, friendly staff, good food and drinks. We stayed here for a short honeymoon after our wedding in Ohio. Our suite was nice, but the bar / pool area was right outside our window. Loud music played most of the night (not really our thing) so we were able to switch hotels to one of their sister hotels right next door (much quieter). Staff was understanding and accommodating. If you enjoy the Miami night life, this is the place for you. If we come back to Miami, we will make a stop for the food and frozen drinks.

The property is in need of an upgrade to say the least. The location along the ocean is great, but you can tell there are some issues at the actual hotel. We saw police going up the stairs to deal with an issue and a guest said there are security issues at the hotel. I would not stay at the property again in the future.

The Clevelander is the only place Id stay in Miami. The staff is very friendly and helpful with all of your needs. They also have great food.

I surprised my wife with an anniversary trip here. Booked last minute over the phone and to my surprise, for a decent rate. The hotel is well kept. All of the staff members are friendly. Atmosphere gives you a Miami feel without the south beach craziness that some of the other hotels have. Highly recommend mend

Just had the worse experience here EVER! We waited a whole hour in line to get in just to not be served. A server walked us to our table and never returned. We stopped several servers as they walked by our table and asked to place an order but repeatedly was told this is not my section. Then finally a spanish Male server came over and told us to go to the bar and order. When we asked him why he couldnt take it, he told us he was too busy and walked to another table and begin taking their orders. That table was all caucasian, we are black. To make it even worst, we were seated before several other tables we watch him serve and he wouldnt serve us. When we ask a black server to serve us, the male server walked up to her and told her not to serve us. We asked for a manager, we were told he was busy. We walked out disappointed and disgusted.

Love the Clevelander. Good parties go down here plus they have a nice hotel.

Great place for drinks and have a good time with friends. Located in Miami Beach in the center of Ocean Drive. Good music, nice place and lots of people. Right in front of the beach. We will come back because we spent a good time on a Tuesday night. It is opened air terrace

Checking in the woman at the front desk was extremely rude! Acted as though we were bothering her. We paid extra for the “rock star suite” and the curtains were falling off the rods, noise in the hallway was unbearable and the air conditioner wouldn’t work. I don’t know what rock star would ever want to stay at this place! Only person that was helpful was the door man but even he wanted to make sure we knew he took tips! Oh and someone used our credit card in Tampa and the only place we used it during our trip was at the Clevelander hotel. Beware someone is selling your credit card numbers!

Really nice to place to watch sports, have a drink, enjoy the music and much more. Crowdy place. The only thing is 20% service which with cocktail prices 40$ (pitcher) makes your Bill 50+ including all taxes. Miami beach prices.

This review is for the outdoor bar area only. This place is pure Miami Beach. Its loud, obnoxious, expensive, and maybe trying a little too hard. If youre looking for a party atmosphere, then this is your place.It does have some pretty good drinks (and not weak), and plenty of seating. The staff is what youd expect for Miami Beach (helpful, friendly, and overworked).Like all places in Miami Beach, make sure you review your receipt for automatic tipping. Dont double tip. Would go again.

Atmosphere is good. But you had way too many things available on your menu for the Super Bowl and weve been waiting now for over an hour for nachos and french fries. Next time you have a big event here in Miami, make five or six things available on your menu and youll be able to deliver to your hungry customers a lot faster. Still waiting.

Well situated with great staff. The loud music plays all night so get a non view room. Much quieter. Also they took more than half the pool space for a dance floor.

ESPN South BeachSo I’m visiting from Virginia and we happen to pass ESPN South Beach. It looks like a great place to party. We find a table and wait, no service. So I stay at the table while my friends go to the bar to order drinks. A waiter comes to the table and I give him my drink order. He inquired about my friend and I told him they were ordering from the bar but he could take my order. I even told him they just left and to catch them. He walks away and doesn’t return for 20 minutes, still no drink for me. He told my companions they were supposed to order with him but still never served me a drink! He waited on the tables all around us so I went to the bar because u got tired of waiting for him to serve us. We wanted food but he was adamant he wasn’t serving us. After 3 rounds, still no service. Tell Johnny thanks, the drinks were great but we’ll never return to this establishment because of his service.

Stayed Saturday February 8th and overall enjoyed our stay. Arrived a little early and staff checked our bags until our room was ready. They called my cell to let me know when our room was ready and I appreciated that. This seems to be the MOST HAPPENING hotel on the strip for a Saturday night. Clevelander definitely had the loudest club of them all. This hotel is perfect for the millennial that will use the bar/club for what it is but if you are a family or a bit too old for the club scene you may want to consider a different hotel as you can hear the club music FAR into the night from your room. I will say the bed was SUPER comfortable and if it werent for the music I would have slept great. Not a complaint, its SOBE, I get it. Lastly, the continental breakfast was a surprise as I dont think it said it was included on the website. It was your typical continental but a nice addition.

I visit Miami annually and have partied at the Clevelander multiple times. I decided this time we would stay at the Clevelander and we brought 16 ppl total to the hotel. The room is extremely small. No refrigerator, no microwave and no room to move around. I am extremely disappointed. We have no plans on revisiting this location.

The drinks were good and so as the atmosphere, but not customer service. My husband and I waited 30 Mins For someone to come take our order. Unfortunately, no one came to ask if we were being taken care of. After waiting for a while, we decided to walk to the bar and order our own drinks. The waiter kept walking passed us and never stopped to ask if we need help or If we want the menu. We left after we finished with our drinks.

Good location; good entertainment

We actually only went to the sports bar. The food and service were amazing. The front desk people were very helpful and the valet was nice as well. We even saw a few of the personalities from the Dan Lebotard show.

It was difficult to navigate around the property. There were no signs of where the restaurant, bar, and restrooms were located. There was one elevator which had a long line towards the end of the night. Since its a party hotel, they had bouncers at the front entrance which was a good and bad thing. They didnt make you feel welcomed, and rush people through like cattle. I also expected to see more of the ocean due to the fact that we reseved a ocean view room instead it was more towards the loud busy street. You could hear people shouting and yelling. Adminities were limited. They didnt even have an ice machine, mini fridge or vending machines. To say the least, I was very disappointed.

We stayed here last week as a bachelor party. It could not have gone better! The staff was amazing from check in to check out. We needed to be addressed by the staff a few times for things like noise and having glass around but the manner in which they did was amazing. It made us want to be more respectful and top to the bottom this experience was incredible. Thanks Clevelander and we will definitely be back!

The stay was incredible. From the moment Kevon greeted me with a free specialty drink for my hand through check out with the same offer, the staff has shown 5 star treatment of the guests. Leo at the front desk checks you in with swift skill so no guest is left waiting. When you stop in the lobby throughout the day, you see Kevons inviting smile offering service and a happy day! Jessica Franco has done a great job in hiring the right crew. All of the other staff has been helpful and friendly which adds volumes to a positive 5 star review for the Clevelander.

If you are booking to stay, you need to know what you are in for. Only come if you intend to party till 4 or 5am as they crank the music to ridiculous levels and you truly cannot sleep. Staff was very attentive upon arrival, but paid extra for ocean view...false as all your view is of is the street ...a few trees and white tents. The room is extremely tiny... We booked on the front and back of a cruise a night... our experience was so rough last night that even though prepaid for the room following the cruise, we just paid $500 to stay elsewhere upon our return.... Again...this place is strictly a bed for sleeping from 5am to noon... absolutely nothing else

I loved this hotel, especially the bar area. Tristan the bartender was extremely friendly, and took time to give us ideas on where to go. Im going back in January and I will definitely go to this bar!!

Great everything! Lit place. They can hold your luggage if you get there too early. Only downside was that our room didnt have a microwave.

Loved the roof top and sundeck, but wish I would have known about it when I arrived instead of finding it the last few days of our stay.

They Hosted a great event for the Premier League. All the staff was involved, helpful and participating. Have to go visit to enjoy the bar and beach.

I stayed at the Clevelander for the week of my birthday with a friend. While the free breakfast was a complete waste, I thoroughly enjoyed the nonstop party. Day or night, the Clevelander is the place to be! The bartenders were awesome, good drinks & conversation. The DJ kept the hits coming and the weekend rooftop party was an added bonus! Overall good quality for the amount spent on the room which we barely were in.

Spent most of the day there, watching a ball game and stayed through the night to watch the Khabib McGregor fight on the big screens. Great drinks, great food and great atmosphere.

Drinks are a little sweet, but great atmosphere. Didnt stay there, but went there on a Friday night to dance. DJ played popular hip hop from the 90s- on, playing to the crowd of mostly tourists and casual music fans. Who doesnt like to be able to sing along like that every once in awhile?

We had a first good impression of the rooftop, went to the bar that’s away from the stage and service was excellent, it changed when I asked for the same drinks at the main bar in front of the DJ and we had a confusion with the receipts, I was trying to get to understand and the bar tender was really rude, he would ignore my attempts to call him and once he saw me he told me he would not answer any questions, I then asked who was the manager and he told me he was, however continue to be very disrespectful and never attempted to listen to what I was trying to say. Sad experience, because we were having a good time and this guy definitely killed the vibe...

I liked that the beach was actoss the street. I did not like the lobby, hotel room had no amenities and they need to stop llaying music all night ling cut it off sonner than 4 am

This place is simultaneously amazing and over rated. The drink prices are astronomical... About $40 for two drinks outside of happy hour. Good but spendy. Rooms are nice and pretty clean. If you choose an ocean view room you need to be on the top floor to actually see the ocean... If you are the view is awesome.

From the check in process to the check out process everything was smooth. Asked for late check out, got it. Needed a room upgrade, they made it happen. If you are looking a hotel to stay in the heart of South Beach....THIS IS IT!!!

How could you ever eat, drink or sleep at this hotel. And how is that no one posted about the roach infestation like it isnt present!! This hotel needs to step its game up and get pest control to get this under control! YUCK! No guest should ever experience this at a place where they are paying or staying with a 4.2 rating...unbelievable.Check-out as quick as the check-in.

This place was LIVE the WHOLE NIGHT!!!! It was only a $10 cover charge that you have to pay by cash! Then once in youll be able to use your card. Dont get the table service for $250 bottle service, because you can watch the same show from the bar or the seating in the back! Food was ok. They give you portions of the sizes of drinks which you can take the glass wear home as a souvenir. Really enjoyed it! For $10 the show was well worth it!

Every time I stop by Miami, I always go to the Clevelander for a burger and beer! One of the best burgers in Miami in my opinion. I definitely recommend you check out this place.

Used to be much better. Posers infest the place. Atmosphere is just OK. Blaring music, inattentive waitstaff all contribute to an unpleasant experience. Food was overpriced and average. Drinks somewhat expensive. Tourists come to experience what they see on TV. The experience aint that great anymore. If you want to experience South Beach flavor, many other, better alternatives line the street. Better food is available many other places. Fun and Drinks are better at several other places also. For drinks, Mangos Tropical Cafe offer a lively embodiment of a Latin dance and drinks club, for example. Final thought - too much of a tourist trap.

Had a lot of fun but two people from our spring break group got their phones stolen on the dancefloor back to back nights. Sat & Sun. Also watched a guy going through peoples pockets on the dance floor. I alerted security but highly reccomend not keeping any valuables in your back pockets.

The staff was extremely rude except Marcelo. My neighbor threatened to assault me, and Marcelo the manager and the security helped so much. Bernardo and Nancy were wonderful housekeepers and extremely kind.

Went for lunch. Being a Tuesday afternoon thought it’d be a little quieter and service a little faster (I’m from NY).The restaurant is extremely overpriced even for the area. A mojito was $17 (picture included). It was pretty weak (and small!) and had the alcohol floated on top instead of being mixed in. The menu was a bit misleading. I thought the bacon, avocado and cheese together were $3, not each on a $20 burger. So the burger went to $27 pretty fast. Had to be redone because the entire plate was cold upon serving.They may calculate their tax a bit creatively. Bill x Sales Tax rate = sub1. Sub1 x Resort tax = sub2. Sub2 x 18% gratuity = total due. I really can’t stand auto-tipping. There’s no incentive for a server to go above and beyond for great service.Not a place I’d go back to anytime soon.

Absolute nightmare to book a room with this hotel. We had a block of rooms booked and the outsourced team could not find the block. I could only book directly with the hotel and getting to them is not easy without knowing what extensions to go to. Plus, their reservations only work Mon-Friday 8-5. It took me two weeks to get in touch with someone at the hotel and now to cancel it will take me another 3 days. Ludacris! Do not book here save yourself the headache. Front desk is less than helpful or pleasant to work with.

Part of the Patriots party package in December had a blast

This is a hotel for the younger crowd unless you are very high energy. We used to party with the best of them, but having a huge party area with endless VERY loud thumping music that goes until the wee hours (5 am?) right below your room isnt for seniors (65+) like us. If its too loud, youre too old! They have a quieter property that well use in future. It was odd not to have even a mini-fridge in the room and only 1 small trash can in the bath. No room service and their restaurant is across the street requiring you to go out to eat. That being said, we love people watching and this historic hotel is right on the beach! The drinks and food were tasty and watching the kids in their mating dances was highly entertaining and nostalgic for us. Hoped to get a glimpse of Papi & Dan LeBatard, but no luck. The pool was more of a hot tub and roof top pool more like a fountain but I doubt most guests were interested in swimming. Except for lack of sleep, we have a very enjoyable stay. In no way is it the hotels fault - we shouldnt have accepted the upgrade that put us over the patio-pool-bar area. Dont bother tipping - they already add 20% to everything.

Always a great time..

I stayed at the Clevelander with a group of girlfriends between 2/29-3/2. Upon arrival, the employee at the reception desk, Vanessa could barely look us in the eye or respond to our questions. We were told our group would be moved to the essex hotel over the phone. When we got to the hotel it took 90 minutes for the line of people to get settled and then another 30 minutes for our group to be settled. Some were in the clevelander and some were at the conjoined sister hotel, the Essex. On the last day of our stay as I walked out of the bathroom, I had briskly turned a corner and felt a gust of wind between me and a hotel employee. Startled, I quickly apologized to the employee, Latoya, as my turn had caused a gust of wind between us. She responded by taking three giant steps towards me and stomping on my barefoot. She had sneakers on and I was in flipflops. I cannot explain how shocked I am at the conduct of this hotel. I do appreciate the manager and security for allowing me to share with them that the hotel needs to continue teaching employees on how to behave with guests. I initiated a conversation with Latoya as I felt we could settle the situation then. All that came of the conversation was her calling me a racist, and I shared that the hotel needs improved workshops on guest relations. My situation was uncalled for. I have two cuts on my feet from being stomped on. Retaliation is not a solution. Violence is not the answer for whatever made Latoya behave as she did. The Clevelander and The Essex Hotel should not leave guests feeling fear and anguish. This was repugnant and an immoral experience.
