One of the last bastions of what used to be a pretty incredible old-school dive bar scene in this neighborhood. Now that Smalls and Daddys are closed, Powerhouse has been renovated into a cocktail bar, and the White Horse has been renovated...into a cocktail bar, The Frolic is the only remaining true dive in Hollywood. I would happily vote for making this place and Mussos historical landmarks.

Great beer selection and great djs! Breaks Yo is one of the best events they have and their bartenders have so much personality! The only thing that would make the place one thousand times better would be to not allow smoking. The place is so small that it would be easy for people to step outside to smoke. It is not 1994 anymore!

Oh man.. yeah. Good bar. Music, bartenders and fellow thirsty leftovers. It was all good. Made some new friends while I was sipping my beer.

Our company recently had a private party there. It was a blast! I think everyone truly had a great time and kept talking about it after. They know how to keep the party going, the staff are so friendly, and the space is so unique. I cant wait to go back!

Alternative style bar. We were there for the Drag Monday and the show was really good! Beer for $2 ! The bartender was a sweetheart!

I could just sit there and watch bartender work for hours. Such a pro! plus unbelievable charisma.Prices are impressively low for Miami Beach. Karafun karaoke system had literally all songs I was interested in.

Out of towner who felt right at home! Carlos is AMAZING! One of the best bartenders Ive ever seen on the job. No one had to wait for a drink. This is a great dive bar with all different kinds of people. Prices are what they are in South Beach, but the specials are always an option. Wednesday night was ladies night and they drink for free 10-2. If I ever come back, this is the only place I will be going to. Such a great bar.

I had a great time here. We happen to be there on a night where trivia games were being played. This was a lot of fun and the host was very entertaining. The decor is very artsy and gives you a lot to look at.

Good Place and Cheap Drinks. They have happy hour on everyday till 10PM. the place was pretty much empty by 9PM. Drinks are half price. You can actually get a drink here and walk over to Lost weekend bar which is next door where they have some games.

Great place for live music. Has some weird and wonderful decor. Unfortunately not all drinks on the menu are available all the time.

Hands down the best bar in Miami Beach. The prices are unbelievable for South Beach. $3 PBRs? Ladies drink free on Wednesdays? Theres the standard row of draft beer and any cocktail you want. Every weekday there is a fun activity or live music here. This is the place for alternative locals to go. The decor is out of this world, e.g. spaceships, Mr. Potato Heads, alligators, an airplane; you can spend hours looking around. They show cult classics on the screen. Great place. Miami Beach wouldnt be the same without it. :)

This is probably my favorite bar to chill at for a girls night out, date night, weekday/weekends awesome shot to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks while listening to good jams and watch a game and/or movie. Overall good time with good company at this bar.

The music is not of variety and theres not much space.. the art on the wall is offensive and the next door music contradicts the music at this place.

I love the decor here. Music was very techno but enough room to at least dance. We loved our bartender and he was patient with the group of 5 I was with. Cover felt unnecessary though and bathroom were very dirty

Nice selection of beer and alcohol. Food was really good and pool tables were great. Downside is the cigarette smole and that smoking is allowed in the bar, I have asthma so we couldnt stay past our 1 drink.

Amazing karaoke and the best karaoke host EVER! I LOVE HER! I even found some hilarious promo videos on YouTube, like eating a steak sandwich in a bubble bath while in drag... AMAZING!(This means a lot coming from me. I have very high karaoke standards Im a karaoke host in Olympia, WA - Oly is 60 miles south of Seattle.)

Super fun time. We came to Miami for vacation and found this bar. The happy hour was super long and really good beers. We stayed for the drag show and it was bomb. I would definitely recommend for someone coming here and not trying to club and stay out until 7am. Super fun and super cool bar!

Back in the 80s in the lower East Side of Manhattan there would be these hole in the wall places .There we would have great times and the music and bar tenders were all so marvelous. Nothing pretentious. And it would attract the most interesting crowds. This is that sort of place in many ways. And unlike the often violent drink prices on most of Miami Beach, they keep theirs at a very sensible level!

Place was pretty straight. Kinda small on one side, but I think you can go into the other side no problem. I didnt venture over there, so not sure of a cover. I was doing a club crawl so I just stayed with the group.

I love Kill Your Idol! It’s right next to Lost Weekend so the fun never ends! I love getting away and just spending the night with friends and great beer! I love ladies nights on Wednesday’s! Cheap beer and it’s my officially FAVORITE karaoke spot in South Beach! Cool local South Beach vibes. Highly recommend this place to whoever is visiting and is not intoThe whole fancy club thing. Super chill atmosphere and when they have live music it’s amazing!! Cool staff!! Raw decor! Best part, no charge!!

I couldnt believe this was the Kill Your Idol dive bar that has been around for some time! I have always heard of this spot before from so many people! It was pretty cool that we stumbled into it and got to check out the venue! They have a pretty large selection of drinks available and the karaoke is always fun to hop on with friends. The design, decor, and the vibe has definitely an old school variety feel to it. Very unique and very far away from your mainstream type of places.

Hey so the only thing I don’t like here are the bathrooms. They are Unisex and there are stickers plastered all over the mirrors. I get these horrible flashbacks of Churchill’s and Las Rosa’s bathrooms. I mean some of us care about the way we look and may want to brush our hair and apply lipstick. Plus the toilet seats are always up!!

Fun bar, friendly staff. Went for the karaoke but was disappointed when the DJ just kept calling up regulars, even if they’d already had a turn, and skipped right over us despite being literally the 3rd people to put our names in. Oh well. Very vibrant atmosphere though!

We discover this place on our vacation in Miami. This place is by far the coolest place in Sobe. Real people, real music, real fun. Go there when Karlos is bartending, he is hilarious. Great bartender and he knows how to cheer everyone up.

The least south beach of any venue youll find on south beach. Happy hour drinks are dirt cheap. Food is pub-perfect. Everyone is welcome and heels are not required. in short, KIY is basically the perfect neighborhood bar, and if Punk Rock Chris is behind the bar, its also the perfect place to learn about weird cult films youve never heard of and will likely never be able to find.

Hit or miss. Interesting venue, live music. Shared roof with lost weekend. Small, cozy. Nice upstairs place to chill with small group

Wednesdays ladies night and great live music!

Awesome bar with some great deals on drinks! The bartenders, DJ, and bouncers are very welcoming. However, when googling gay bars in south beach Miami this bar popped up. My friends and I, who are gay, went 3 weeks ago and had a confrontation with these guys at this bar. They told us that we dont belong there and that we are going to hell. So yes, this is a fun and friendly bar but I wouldnt consider it a gay bar. So LGBT community keep your guard at this place.

This place is one of South beachs hidden gems. Great prices and happy hour until 10pm. They are open from 8pm - 4am. Carlos is amazing. He gave us great service and info. Good vibes.

The decor is an explosion of curious drawings, pop art, posters and pieces. 5 stars for happy hour til 10pm, 5 stars for Bruce Lee jumping out the Wall, 5 Stars for unpretentious staff and crowd. Not a large space, but sister bar next door is much more expansive.

Visiting from Texas and was recommended to try this place out. It was unlike any experience Ive ever had! The drinks are not only boozy but beautiful. The atmosphere is inviting, fun, and definitely tiki. It can be a bit of a pain because it gets busy, so def try and make reservations. Regardless of that this place 110% make me love Chicago even more.
